Good evening folks, let's hope your Christmas Day is going well, Chris Murray here with the Christmas night party night till 12. It's like one big jukebox on the radio On the way Barry White, Blondie, The Beatles, Michael Jackson, Bee Gees, Billy Joel and many more
A little about THE MAN IN BLACK! Just watched Johnny and June on a episode of little house! He has recorded more than 1,500 songs and they can be found on about 500 albums, counting only American and European releases. More of his albums (45) remain in print today than most artists ever make. He is the youngest person ever chosen for the Country Music Hall of Fame and the only person ever selected for the Country and Rock Music Hall of Fame, until this 1998, when Elvis Presley was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. He has placed 48 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 Pop charts, about the same number as the Rolling Stones and the Beach Boys. He has tallied more Pop hit singles than Barbra Streisand, Michael Jackson (including his Jackson 5 hits), the Four Seasons, David Bowie, the Supremes, Elton John, Billy Joel, Kenny Rogers, the combined totals of Art Garfunkel, Paul Simon and Simon & Garfunkel, Martin Gaye, B.B. King, Roy Orbison, Kool & the Gang, Linda Ronstadt. Diana Ross, the combined tota ...
The Christmas Tree (Because Shelly asked) The early 80's was "our" time!! Big, curly, bouffant hair, listening to Bon Jovi, Madonna, Michael Jackson, Billy Joel, thinking we were the kids from the Breakfast Club, Footloose, or Flashdance. Driving our cool 1970's cars, or watching The Cosbee's. A time before Pee Wee Herman was too creepy. Unfortunately, it was also the time of People's Court with Judge Wapner and Doug Llewelyn, and the AMC Gremlin car, which probably ranks in the Top 10 Un-Coolest cars in history. They would both factor into this cold December night. December means holidays for most people, but for me, it meant "hunting", with almost every game animal in season at that time. I would make several treks a year to the small town of Holly, Colorado, where my grandparents lived, to stay with them and hunt the various upland species that thrived there. It was a pheasant and duck mecca, with plenty of geese, rabbits, quail, coyotes, or just about anything else that ran or flew. It lies f ...

Interesting chart statistic I just came across in researching tonight. The Beatles scored five BILLBOARD Top 10 singles on the US Charts with B-sides ("PS I Love You", "She's A Woman", ""Day Tripper", "Strawberry Fields Forever", and "Something") between 1964 and 1969. By way of comparison, to date, the Rolling Stones, Jackson 5/Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Billy Joel, Elton John, and the Eagles-- combined-- have zero.
Making history remains second nature for Backstreet Boys. The Grammy Award-nominated, multi-platinum pop-powerhouse has solidified itself as the biggest and best-selling boy band in history with sales exceeding 130 million albums worldwide. Meanwhile, they're also one of the only music artists to release seven consecutive albums in the top 10 of the Billboard Top 200. Two decades into their career, AJ McLean, Brian Littrell, Howie Dorough, Kevin Richardson, and Nick Carter are as strong as ever, and they're not stopping. They initially formed in 1993 and began turning heads with their self-titled first album three years later. Driven by the single "Quit Playing Games (With My Heart)", they instantly became pop stars. Superstar status soon followed with the release of their 1997 effort Backstreet's Back and a RIAA diamond certification for their debut — placing them in an elite club with Michael Jackson, The Beatles, and Billy Joel. Closing out the century with a bang, Millennium set the record for first ...

As you all know, the Rolling Stones have been rumored to be playing between sets two and three of the Blue-Eyed Soul gig. Does that mean that other stars that love the Rolling Stones will also be in attendance? Like maybe Billy Joel, P. Diddy, Paul Mccartney, Derek Jeter, A-Rod, A-Rod's natural supplement doctor, Michael Jackson, the Miami Heat, Bettie Page, Warren Buffett, Linda Blair, President and Mrs. Obama, Bjorn Borg, Andy Warhol, Pia Zadora, Robert De Niro, Tom Foolery, Jackie Gleason and with a little luck ... the Beibs? Yes the Beibs! That would be better than even *** & Keith! I don't think even they would argue that. Maybe he'll even drive his Ferrari right through the front door of the club and splatter a dozen or so patrons! Now would you really want to chance missing this? Please note : This performance is rated "R" with the American Bar Association. Children under 35 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
I'd like your five favorite bands of the 80's- in order. The only rule is they have to be judged on their work in the 80's only - not before or after. Here are some names just to get you thinking about the 80's-Poison, Guns 'N Roses, L.A. Guns, White Snake, White Lion, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Skid Row, Motley Crue, Madonna, Pat Benatar, U2, Rick Springield, The Outfield, The Cure, The Cult, The Clash, AC/DC, Cheap Trick, *** Yankees, Michael Jackson, ZZ Topp, Stray Cats, Bon Jovi, Bryan Adams, Black Crows, Def Lepperd, Nightranger, Ratt, Billy Joel, Aerosmith, Living Colour or anybody else you can think of. Let's see what you've got to say.
There are certain artists who are highly celebrated and are legends yet and still most people fail to understand the depth of their work. Most people stop at the surface.the part that says "That song is hot!". Here are a few artists whose brilliance is much deeper than given credit for.just a few: Stevie Wonder, Donny Hathaway, Michael Jackson, Marvin Gaye, Aretha Franklin, Nas, Billy Joel, Earth Wind & Fire, Bob Marley, Minnie Riperton, Curtis Mayfield, John Lennon and Babyface just to name a few.
Go back to let's say... 1984... where the Grammy's were littered with names like Michael Jackson, Billy Joel, Sting, Prince and Phil Collins. Then flash forward to today... "Call Me Maybe"??? ... "We are never ever getting back together" ???... Frank Ocean ??? ... LMFAO??? What a mess!
We don't have cable so I'm going to make up my own Grammy ceremony. Sara Bareilles, Ingrid Michaelson, and Eric Hutchinson are finally recognized as actual human beings with extraordinary talent. Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins, and Paul Simon get together and perform a mash-up entitled, "Sledgehammering Scarborough Fair In The Air Tonight." Billy Joel shows up sober, plays some piano for the longest time and doesn't get cut off by the orchestra. "Bohemian Rhapsody" finds itself interwoven throughout the show as transitional music (played by Fun AND Mika, naturally). Fastball reunites and performs, "The Way" just to be all, "Remember this song and how awesome it is?! RIGHT?!" Bobby Mcferrin presents an award only in "boop ba doo be doo's" scat language. Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson duet while Britney Spears from 1999 does a delicious dance. Otis Redding sings, "Sittin On The Dock Of Bay"... a capella... because WHY NOT. The Beatles are all alive and back together and win the award for "Best Band That Eve ...

I hate when songwriters can't think of anymore lyrics so they throw in la la la or na na na or something meaningless. Yeah I'm talking to you Manfred Mann, Van Morrison, The Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel, Stevie Wonder, Steam, Roberta Flack, Elton John, Billy Joel, Michael Jackson, Seal, Hanson, Third Eye Blind, Will Smith, Blink-182, The White Stripes, Eiffel-65, Kylie Minogue, Jack Johnson, Eminem, Gwen Stefani, and O-Zone. Please take it personally... all of you.
I have been thinking a lot lately about how much music has had such an influence on my life and who I am as a person. I realized very quickly that I have some people to thank for that. First and foremost my Mom and Dad. Thank you for letting me sit on the floor of the family room and listen to all your old albums and thank you for dancing around the house with me. I do that ALL THE TIME with my kids and they love it! Also, thank you for singing to me and allowing me to sit on the center counsel in the car and sign Fleetwood Mac! So much of the music I love came from you. Id like to give a special thanks to Jerry Garcia, Steve Winwood, Eric Clapton, U2, Michael Jackson, All of Motown and many, many others for years of music, joy, laughter and tears. A special shout to Bob Denver, Billy Joel, Elton John and James Taylor for giving me the songs that I sing to my kids every night. I don't know if it's the new kid coming or what but I was feeling a little sentimental today. Thought I'd share. Peace. ;)

Rap (hip hop) is cool, it's fun... but really... It is a total nostalgia genre. Kids today STILL hear Led Zep, The Beatles, Elvis, The Ramones, Cash, Marley, Michael Jackson, Billy Joel, Otis, and they know it is something special. It's on video games and featured sales on MP3 sites. These musicians set soundtracks in movies. I RARELY see kids downloading The Big Daddy Kane collections, or The Digital Underground Anthology, or N.W.A's greatest hits... PE had a Greatest Misses CD, my kids don't know or care about it, but they know AC/DC and it kicked *** in Iron Man.
Here are only a few of my favourite artists. Crowded House, Split ends, Matchbox20, midnight oil, a.c.d.c, guns&roses, Bonjovi, Brian Adams, Neil Diamond, Ray Charles, Hunters and collectors, dragon, Jimmy Barns, Jonny Cash, Jimmy Hendrix, Skyhooks, electric light orchestra, George Michael, Elton John, Billy Joel, Sting, Mental as anything, the cure, Madonna, Michael Jackson, the king of rock and roll of course and I have only mentioned one country artist and I haven't even got started on classical music yet.
