Billy Joel, Bryan Adams, Dire Straits, Huey Lewis, Weird Al: Acts I'll never see because I'm not rich & live in Cape Breton.

One of those mornings where the radio nails it! Dire straits, Pink Floyd, Pat Benatar n Billy Joel... Ready to create some value!
What do Dire Straits, Billy Joel and the Police have in common? You can tell by listening to them that the driving force behind them (in Billy's case, himself) are *** Sting, Billy and Mark--never met them, but can assure you they're *** -you can feel it and hear it in the music.
Love playing songpop, it takes me back to the artists that I've seen live over the years.Queen, Phil Collins, Rod Stewart (all in the same week) , Nik Kershaw, Thompson Twins, Simple Minds, Dire Straits, Bon Jovi, Pet Shop boys, Billy Joel. Would love to know who you've all seen live!! And to add to this, being at the Countdown Rock Awards circa 85 and 86, QB1 in Sydney and the Palace in Melbourne, Mr Mister and Sting come to mind! Music is our soul.well mine anyway! David Bowie is the only one I let slip! More fool me. But he's just released a new album in his 60's! It won't fail!
Random Thoughts: Why did Neil Diamond make a Christmas album when he is Jewish? Why do most singers put out great albums when they first start out and then slowly start to suck (Ex: The Bridge by Billy Joel)? Is it creepy that the lead singer from Dire Straits wrote the song "Private Dancer" for Tina Tuner? Does the girl referenced in the Looking Glass song "Brandy" sound like a prostitue? Do the aforementioned comments indicate that I need to turn off the Music Channel or just stop reading the little blurbs about the artists?
I'm in a neeew york state of mind! My dad raised me on Dire Straits, Mark Knopfler and Billy Joel (in other words: The right way) Love you dad! :D
1983 My matriekjaar. Rod Steward se ‘Baby Jane’ is hoog op die treffersparade, Foreigner se ‘Juke box hero’ laat my bedremmeld soos `n rock star voel en Billy Joel se ‘You maybe right’ gee my nuwe ‘chat-up lines’ by die huispaarties. Dire Straits se ‘Love over gold’ sidder deur my en ek verlustig my in `n wonderskone struktuur van eenvoud en Goddelike intervensie. ‘And what have you got at the end of the day? What have you got to take away? A bottle of whiskey and a new set of lies Blinds on the window and a pain behind your eyes’ Ek besef vir die eerste keer daar is hoop vir `n rondspringende tydsreisiger en bevestig my vermoede dat daar werklik engele naby ons dans.
My current top 10 albums. Not including compilations and not in any specific order. 1. The Doors by the Doors- The Doors were the first band I liked. They have to have an album on my list. 2. Bat Out of *** 2 by Meat Loaf- It was this or Bat 1. 3. Use Your Illusion II by Guns N Roses- Doesn't have November rain or the original Don't cry. However, overall, way better than number 1. 4. Making Movies by Dire Straits- Awesome album, I listen to it all the time. 5. Brothers in Arms by Dire Straits- Same as Making Movies. 6. Blonde on Blonde by Bob Dylan- My list wouldn't be complete without a Bob Dylan album. 7. Glass Houses by Billy Joel- Bought it for $2 dollars, best $2 dollars I've ever spent. 8. Rubber Soul by The Beatles- Yes, this is my favorite album by them. 9. Led Zeppelin IV by Led Zeppelin- Don't own the album however, I know exactly what songs are on it. 10. 21 by Adele- Love it. Quickly became one of my favorite albums.
CDs in my car today - best of Billy Joel and Dire Straits
Can't forget some Tommy Tutone.. Dire Straits, Warren Zevon, Bon Jovi, of course some more Billy Joel and Elton John.
"I've seen fire and I've seen rain..." -- can you believe I heard JT on the hot new radio station on my way to lunch today??? Thank you, Alice 102, for coming to Kansas City. Crazy mix of everything, lots of stuff you never hear anymore ("classics" they never play on the "classics" stations), plus acoustic and new stuff you don't hear anywhere ever. Recent sample (just the ones I remember): Natalie Merchant, Macy Gray, Dire Straits, Elvis Costello, Coldplay, Joan Armatrading, old Billy Joel, Lenny Kravitz, Bob Marley, Roy Orbison, Bruce Hornsby. I had almost forgotten about the awesome piano and lyrics in "The Way It Is". There's a song worth hearing again after all these years...
