To Make You Feel My Love - written by Bob Dylan SUBSCRIBE NOW on YouTube: the "Best Of... English song covers" playlist by David: first heard this song when it was recorded by Billy Joel on his 3rd Greatest Hits album. It's since been recorded by just about everyone; Garth Brooks, Adele, Kelly Clarkson ...etc. ...I've never heard this song recorded a duet though so I threw together a harmony part and sung it with my friend Mathieu Bellemare. How Brian Wilson, Billy Joel and even Bob Dylan wound up on the massive new McCartney tribute LP
Two really cool artists coming for an Eppy MFP concert in Glen Cove on Boxing Day which is the day after Xmas if you are not British oriented. Kasim is one of the nicest people you could meet and a most talented of famous NY bass players in Rock history, known for his work with Todd Rundgren, Utopia, Meatloaf and countless other greats. Elliot was the original major label-signed Long Island singer-songwriter from back in the day, eventually locating to France where he is viewed at the highest artistic level akin to Bob Dylan. His music was a big part of WLIR's progressive music evolution in the 1970's. Billy Joel was always a big fan and supporter of Elliot's. So, please help Eppy keep his music series of historic intimate shows with great food going and buy yourself or someone you know concert ticket gifts for this show the day after Dec 25th. Thanks for supporting the music always!

Musician's are sometimes asked who their musical influences have been over the years and for some reason I found myself making a mental list while in the shower tonight. I think it's the first time I have actually 'REALLY' thought about that question. This is what I came up with in no specific rank or chronological order. Stevie Wonder, Billy Joel, Bing Crosby, Elton John, Bruce Hornsby, Jackson Browne, Rascal Flatts, Peter Frampton, Aretha Franklin, Dave Mathews, Bob Dylan, Lyle Lovett, Counting Crows, Pearl Jam, AC/DC, Foreigner, John Mayer, Casting Crowns, Paul Mccartney, Alanis Morissette, Eric Clapton, Paul Rodgers, Indigo Girls, Mercy Me, Bob Seger, The 'Boss', James Taylor, Zach Brown, Frank Sinatra, Chris Rice, & Earth, Wind & Fire, AND of course those a little closer to home - These locals have all been an inspiration to me in one way or another. Whether it be by their pure talent, performances, musicianship, guidance, song writing, and for some a combination of them all! Kelly Jones, Dave ...
TBT: This back from 1985 when I pretended to be Bob Dylan for 2 whole years while he spent time on a beach somewhere in the Caribbean. It started the night of the 'We Are the World" recording session. That night, I also ended up having to fill in for Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, Billy Joel and Cyndi Lauper. To be honest, the only real 'stars' there were Huey Lewis, Latoya Jackson and Lionel Richie, although Lionel had to leave early or, he said, his wife would beat the crap out of him. Latoya offered to buy me pizza after the recording session, but that was a big mistake. She would just not stop calling me after that. She was a very desperate and lonely woman.
June 7, 1993…In Cleveland, the groundbreaking ceremony was held for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Chuck Berry, Sam Phillips, Pete Townshend, and Billy Joel were among those present at the ceremony. The historical day finished with a benefit concert at Cleveland Municipal Stadium. The line-up for the event consisted of legendary artist such as Chuck Berry, Bob Dylan, Al Green, Jerry Lee Lewis, Aretha Franklin, Johnny Cash, the Pretenders, John Fogerty, Lou Reed, Iggy Pop, George Clinton, the Kinks, John Mellencamp, Bruce Springsteen, Booker T. and the MGs, Eric Burdon and Martha Reeves.
I was watching HBO's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction ceremony the other night, so I started counting all of the Hall of Fame performers I have seen. In all, I have seen 27 HOF acts, including The Who, Police, the Rolling Stones, Simon and Garfunkel, Billy Joel, Rod Stewart, Ricky Nelson, Chuck Berry, Little Richard, The Beach Boys, Bob Dylan, the Four Seasons, The Everly Brothers, The Jackson 5, Crosby, Stills and Nash, Blondie, Heart and Smokey Robinson. I can't believe though that legendary singers like Bette Midler, Barbra Streisand, the Three Dog Night, Gloria Estefan, Peter, Paul & Mary, John Denver, Johnny Rivers, Johnny Mathis, Connie Francis, Chicago, Dionne Warwick, Lionel Richie, The Carpenters, Jim Croce, Helen Reddy, Kenny Rogers and Olivia Newton-John are not in the Rock Hall of Fame. There is a heavy bias against women in the HOF.
A tour of New York City's world famous music scene, featuring some of the premiere venues in the world, including Carnegie Hall, Radio City Music Hall, the Birdland Jazz Club, as well as many of the famous folk music spots frequented by Bob Dylan, Billy Joel, Neil Diamond, Joan Baez, Don Mclean, John Denver, Hall and Oats, Neil Young, Etta James, and many more!
Thinking about great contemporary lyricists like Bob Dylan, Elton John, Jackson Browne, Billy Joel, or John Lennon, and realizing that America's youth will grow up singing "Them baggy sweat pants and Reeboks with the strap...She turned around and gave that big booty a smack...She hit the floor...Next thing you know...Shorty got low low low low low low low" *smh*
**COMPLETED!** **New York City** *List 32* The city so nice they named it twice has been the subject of contemporary songs again and again. If they ever induct a city to the R&RHoF as a muse, the Big Apple would be among a select few and probably for contemporary American music. In my eyes, the city is a Rock Star. Here's my homage to my home town. Hope you all enjoy. PLEASE ANSWER NO MORE THAN 6 EACH UNTIL WE NEED CLEANUP HITTERS! 1. Went to the Apollo, you should've seen them go, go, go - Take A Walk On The Wild Side - Lou Reed - Lars Larsson 2. Visiting Hours at The Hub... I went down to The Hub to check it out, there in the corner building at 350 Georgia Street in the City of the former US Naval Station, Mare Island, and there it was a True Plantation of Delight, pulsating with anticipation and creative potential: local artists’ works were displayed on the walls and in the back was a small stage and I thought to myself, “This looks like the place where a Traveling Salesman and a video crew could see what they could do before they send in the second crew to pick up the guy who thinks he’s part Neil Diamond, Paul Simon, Billy Joel, Bob Dylan, John Prine, Joni Mitchell, Donna Summer, Bette Midler, and Cool Hand Luke. His family can come see him when he’s back on his Meds during Visiting Hours at The Hub, Second and Fourth Thursday Nights of the month, about 7 – 9pm, or until they close down the place.” ©Peter Bray, 2/23/2014 All rights reserved

One of the greatest rock and roll tours of all time began Jan 3, 1974—40 years ago today—in Chicago. It combined Bob Dylan, who had been absent from touring for more than seven years, with The Band—his friends and neighbors from Woodstock, New York. What happened inside that basement at Big Pink would now be unleashed on the world. I was at the concert on this tour Jan. 19, 1974 at the Sportatorium in Hollywood, Florida. By today’s standards, the “Sporto” was a terrible venue. It was a hangar-like building made of concrete with a steel roof. It seated 14,000 people and had no air conditioning. When it rained, the roof leaked on the performers and the audience. Robert Plant once said it was the only venue where he was rained out inside of a building. The sound was atrocious—like being inside of a large metal garbage can—which is essentially what it was. Billy Joel, after performing there, once called it “an acoustical nightmare.” But on the night Dylan and the Band played there, it didn ...
"Classic" artists I don't care for that everyone else likes: Billy Joel, Steely Dan, Cat Stevens, Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, and The Who.
I'll give you a hint. What do Billy Joel, Bob Dylan and Frank Sinatra have in common?
Perhaps even more than other American-Jewish rock stars such as Billy Joel and Bob Dylan, Lou Reed was fiercely proud of being Jewish — and included lyrics on behalf of Israel and against anti-Semitism in some of his songs. I mention Reed’s Jewishness because not a single obituary I have read of him...
Elvis Presley - The Essential , Billy Joel - The Essential , Bruce Springsteen - The Essential so as Leonard Cohen , Bob Dylan, nd Aerosmith , Simon & Garfunkel, so as Kirk Franklin , Barbra Streisand , Dixie Chicks, Yanni , Roy Orbisin , Celine Dion i know im forgeting someone who also got the Album Essential who can it be

Music History for Sunday 9/22/13 2011, Research conducted by car maker SEAT found that Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody was the song most likely to be found on British iPods, with more than 40% of owners having the hit on their players. The Beatles had four songs in the list, a feat also matched by Coldplay. Other favourites included U2, The Killers and Rihanna. 2005, Jimmy Page was made an honorary citizen of Brazilian city Rio de Janeiro for his work helping its street children. The Led Zeppelin guitarist had opened Casa Jimmy (Jimmy's House) in 1998 which had so far supported more than 300 children. 2001, ‘A Tribute to Heroes’ was aired commercial-free on most of the major US TV networks. Friends! I need some recommendations. I am looking for new music to listen to. I've gotten bored with the albums on constant rotation in my car and am looking to branch out, but I have a really hard time finding new music I like. I know you all know of my TMBG obsession, but to give you an idea of my other tastes, these are some other artists I enjoy enough to own the majority of their work: OK Go, Fountains of Wayne, Queen, Paul Simon, The Guggenheim Grotto, Plushgun, Brad Paisley, Johnathan Coulton, John Denver, David Mallett, MGMT. I also own and enjoy Greatest Hits type collections from bands like The Who, ABBA, Billy Joel, Jimmy Buffett, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, James Taylor, Carly Simon, The Beach Boys and though I am almost ashamed to admit it, Bryan Adams (so sue me, its a guilty pleasure). As you can see, I have somewhat eclectic taste. With very few exceptions, I don't tend to care for female vocalists. I enjoy bands that feature piano/keyboards. I like music with strong or interesting rhyt ...
Three of the best song writers in the history of music were Beatles...another guy was Bob Dylan. Besides those guys, who are your favorite song writers? For me, I've got: Chris Cornell, Elvis Costello, Jim Croce, Billy Joel, and Elton John. Who do you like?

THE 10 MOST ANNOYING THINGS BANDS DO AT CONCERTS~ ( Thought this was worth a share. What do you think?~Madison) Rolling Stone has compiled a list of the 10 most annoying things that bands do at rock concerts, and without naming names, Guns N’ Roses’ Axl Rose would top the list as the number-one most annoying habit is “show up ridiculously late.” 2) Exclude key band members. “When Christine McVie of Fleetwood Mac and Bill Wyman of the Rolling Stones decided to scale back their lives and get off the road, we would have all preferred to see them with their bands still. The shows suffered from their absence, but people have a right to quit. A band isn't the mafia.” 3) Play too much from the new album. Culprits include Neil Young and Radiohead. 4) Only perform the hits. Culprits include Elton John and Billy Joel. 5) Play anything resembling a medley. 6) Ignore the music of your beloved former band. 7) Play perverse arrangements of your songs. Bob Dylan is the biggest offender of this one. Never var ...

I'm really excited to announce that my band Schucks Road will be having our EP release concert at The Bitter End on Bleecker Street, July 17th. To give you an idea of how excited I am, here are a few folks that have played on the stage that we'll be playing on: Bruce Springsteen, Woody Allen, Bob Dylan, Jim Croce, Miles Davis, John Denver, Neil Diamond, Van Morrison, Billy Joel, Randy Newman, Peter, Paul, & Mary, John Prine, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Stevie Wonder, Neil Young, and the list goes on and on and on. You don't want to miss this show.
Paul Simon, James Taylor, Simon and Garfunkel, Bob Dylan, Billy Joel...now those are musicians!
Hate to admit it but was a huge fan - now I can legitimately wear tartan from the clan of McClain of Loch Buie on the Isle of Mull! Then I went all Sca & Mod! At some point I had the Goth look, but was into Billy Joel, Elton John, Joan Armatrading, anything Annie Lennox did, A lot of Bob Dylan, Suzanne Vega, Jonie Mitchell, ELO, White Snake & the Boomtown Rats!
Plotting my "set list" for the rest of the month. So far future warm-ups for February include (in no particular order): Mike Patton (faith no more) , Billy Joel, Errol Garner, Bjork, Sidney Bechet, Bob Dylan, Ian Anderson (jethro tull) Florence Welch (florence + the machine), and Sade. Thinking of doing a Local + Indy week where I illustrate some of the fantastic musicians that live and walk amongst us! More on that later :)
So heres what I am thinking. Next year, for the super bowl half time show, I dont want to see a lady march dancing and half dressed singing with her back up singers volume half way turned up. I say we get John Mayer to come out rock the place the eff out. Maybe, just maybe, get Dave Ghrol on drums, Slash playing guitar, and Billy Joel on the piano rather than having a bass player and just let them have a jam session. Maybe warm up with Johnny and Bob Dylan playing an acoustic set before they blow the roof off the stadium. Just a thought. I mean you dont get any American than a great jam session and some singer/ song writers.
Random question of the day: Who are your top 5 music artists? Mine: In no particular order. Billy Joel,Rod Stewart, Bob Dylan, Gaelic Storm and Bags- Of-Rock ! Although I DO listen and love many more!!!
28 years ago today Michael Jackson & Lionel Richie composed the song ''We Are The World'' for the project known as ''USA for Africa''. It sold over 20 million copies and had as guest artists such as Bob Dylan, Billy Joel, Bruce Springsteen, Cyndi Lauper, Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross, Tina Turner, Kenny Rogers and Ray Charles and was produced by Quincy Jones.
Dadmissions on Time: If I could save Jim Croce's Time In A Bottle, I'd have to do it Time After Time like Cyndi Lauper sang so its a good thing the Rolling Stones tell me Time Is On My Side because otherwise I'd be saving For The Longest Time like Billy Joel. No question like Bob Dylan says, the Times They Are A Changin'. If I could Turn Back Time with Cher or go Back In Time with Huey Lewis I might tell Britney Spears there's no need to do it Baby One More Time despite the fact that Jim Morrison sang Love Me Two Times and Captain & Tennile sang Do That To Me One More Time. Why not do it Three Times A Lady according to Lionel Ritchie. Too bad the Guess Who says there's No Time left for that. You know, Green Day was right I've Had The Time Of My Life, despite Led Zeppelin's Good Times Bad Times, but mostly Chic's Good Times. As Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes sang "I owe it all to you". Let me pose this one philosophical question from Chicago Does Anybody Really Know What Time it is. As Semisonic s ...
The Joe Smith Collection contains over 225 recordings of noted artists and executives and is a veritable who's who in the music industry. They include Artie Shaw, Woody Herman, Ray Charles, Barbra Streisand, Little Richard, Bob Dylan, Paul Mccartney, George Harrison, Elton John, Paul Simon, David Bo...
Bob Dylan wrote it and Billy Joel, Phil Keaggy, and others have recorded it. Phil Keaggy is one of my favorite guitar players:))
Billy Joel is the Devil's answer to Bob Dylan.
I had the most horrendous dream last night. I was being held captive in an enormous white room with all, and I mean ALL, my favorite artists. Jackson Browne, Bob Dylan, Billy Joel, The Killers, Bon Iver, George Gershwin, Puccini, John Coltrane, Carol King, Band of Horses, Debussy, The Rolling Stones, Miles Davis, Monteverdi (for some reason), The Doors, Bob Marley, CSNY, Rachmaninov, Johnny Cash, Third Eye Blind, The Velvet Underground, Paul Simon, Randall Z. Stroope .EVERYONE I've ever liked was there! Now, some may think this is a dream come true, but in actuality it was awful! They held me there against my will until I listed my top five favorite songs EVER, all High Fidelity style. I simply couldn't. Worst of all, they wouldn't let me write my neoliberalism research paper... Lesson: Do NOT write your personal statement for your Musicology M.A. application before bed.
The Wallflowers, led by Bob Dylan's son Jakob Dylan, just finished playing "Up from Under", and now Billy Joel is singing out "Honesty": "You may be right, I may be crazy, but it just may be a lunatic you're looking for!"
Beiber *** he isn't an artist, he doesn't write his own songs. John Lennon, Billy Joel, Bob Dylan, Phil Collins are artists, look'em'up
Enough farting around...the rest of this night will be dedicated to blowing out my voice learning to sing Make You Feel My Love since IT'S THE SECOND BONUS TRACK ON BFI MOTHER TRUCKERS! lol It's also the only track i will be trying to sing a capella. I had to add this one. It's written by Bob Dylan and famously performed by 3 of my favorite artists Garth Brooks, Billy Joel, and Adelle. Perfect tribute song.
I shared a night with Keely we will never forget! Garth Brooks sounds exactly like his records, excellently imitates Merle Haggard, George Jones, Jim Croce, Billy Joel, James Taylor, Bob Dylan and more. Trisha Yearwood came out and did several songs, too-including a duet with Garth. All of this happened so close to us, I could have hit him with a rock. I'm in love with GB music all over again.
To Make You Feel My Love by Billy Joel and Bob Dylan from the Greatest Hits Collection. This video is for entertainment purposes only.
Our band "Not Exactly Dylan" is playing at Big Barn in North Richland Hills this Saturday night (Oct. 13th). Would love to see anybody there who can come out to support great live music. Because of the success of Garth Brooks' version of 'To Make You Feel My Love,' it's often forgotten that Bob Dylan and Billy Joel recorded the song before
If you hate The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Billy Joel, Stevie Wonder, Buddy Holly, Frank Sinatra, etc. and like Justin Bieber, One Direction, etc., you probably suck at life, just saying.
Jason Mraz, Billy Joel and Bob Dylan. Give me their music and I'm happy
I begin my day by sitting and listening to classic songs of Elton John, Lynard Skynard, Billy Joel and Bob Dylan. Then watch a few Re-run episodes of The Wonder Years and Boy Meets World then shower to begin my day. The way I love it.

"Fashioned for the warriors whose strength is not to fight . . . Tolling for the aching ones whose wounds cannot be nursed, for the countless confused, accused, misused ones and worse/ And for every hung-up person in the whole wide universe... We gazed upon the chimes of freedom flashing." The road of every Western poet, lyricist and singer who ever lived leads to Bob Dylan. Watch this and smile... William Shakespeare, Dante Alighieri, Jelly Roll Morton, Enrico Caruso, Billy Strayhorn and Duke Ellington, Billie Holiday, Bing Crosby, Johnny Mercer, Hoagy Carmichael, Dylan Thomas, Ella Fitzgerald, Robert Frost, e.e. cummings, Allen Ginsberg, Jack Kerouac, John Lennon and Paul Mccartney, Joni Mitchelll and Billy Joel, all owe a debt to the man who made singing real words the gold standard.
Burning CD's from my library for my son, per his request. Bob Dylan. Johnny Cash. Stevie Ray Vaughn. Jimi Hendrix. He mentioned Billy Joel, but I refuse.
The Beatles are my number one, second Beastie Boys, third Nirvana, fourth Bob Dylan, and fifth Billy Joel.
7mindless Fact What does 7minds and Lady Gaga have in common? Besides similar fashion sense, both performed at the Bitter End in NYC. As did Billy Joel, Miles Davis, Bob Dylan, Richard Pryor, Taylor Swift, Stevie Wonder and in 2008, Neil Diamond.

A day of Cat Stevens, Billy Joel, James Taylor, Jim Croce, John Lennon, Bob Dylan, Elton John, Simon and Garfunkle. Still a child of the 60's yet now in my 60's. How does that happen?
My current top 10 albums. Not including compilations and not in any specific order. 1. The Doors by the Doors- The Doors were the first band I liked. They have to have an album on my list. 2. Bat Out of *** 2 by Meat Loaf- It was this or Bat 1. 3. Use Your Illusion II by Guns N Roses- Doesn't have November rain or the original Don't cry. However, overall, way better than number 1. 4. Making Movies by Dire Straits- Awesome album, I listen to it all the time. 5. Brothers in Arms by Dire Straits- Same as Making Movies. 6. Blonde on Blonde by Bob Dylan- My list wouldn't be complete without a Bob Dylan album. 7. Glass Houses by Billy Joel- Bought it for $2 dollars, best $2 dollars I've ever spent. 8. Rubber Soul by The Beatles- Yes, this is my favorite album by them. 9. Led Zeppelin IV by Led Zeppelin- Don't own the album however, I know exactly what songs are on it. 10. 21 by Adele- Love it. Quickly became one of my favorite albums.
What an amazing night listening to Garth Brooks playing and talking through his life and music, just him and his guitar apart from a guest appearance by the missus, Tricia Yearwood. Everything from Merl Haggard and George Jones to Billy Joel, James Taylor and Bob Dylan. It's no wonder he's sold as many records as Elvis Presley!
Piano Man. Note: Photos of the younger Bob Dylan are on this video partly because he is known for his harmonica talent and there are harmonica parts in the s...
