Life is great! Last Saturday my wife and I wound up our evening in the booth at the Renaissance w/ DJ Ciro LLerena, who immediately spun "Shine on Silver Moon" by Marilyn McCoo & Billy Davis Jr., one of my all-time favorite disco records. Then this past Friday I saw Billy & Marilyn in person at the Royal Room of the Colony Hotel in Palm Beach! And that brought me back to 1979 when our Florida Record Pool hosted a party for Billy & Marilyn at The Button on the Beach. (Shout out to DJ John Terry!) What a great event. Yes, life is great!

Dan and I spent another Saturday at Busch Gardens. We saw Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis Jr. in concert. (The Fifth Dimension) For the young among us they sang Up Up and Away ( My Beautiful Baloon). For those of us who lived through it they sang a song that captured the spirit of the sixties, "The Age of Aquarius". Tomorrow is the Doobey Brothers in concert. Dan tells me again this is "his music". For my part I am getting to see in person though old and wrinkled (exception Marilyn McCoo) many of the artists who played rock concerts (those still alive) when I was a bit too young to venture far from home and see them. Can I say it's been a great winter!

My TOP 10 Whitney Song: 10. "Saving All My Love for You" Like several of her hits, Houston took an already-recorded song and gave it new life. Originally, this track was a duo by Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis Jr. back in the late '70s. This song — which dealt with loving a married or taken man — was Houston's first hit in 1985 and won her a Grammy. 9. “My Love Is Your Love” - Again, this is another song with an uplifting message. Whitney says that even with all the chaos going on in the world, her love for her special someone (everybody knew the unconditional love she had for her child) is stronger than that chaos. 8. "Where Do Broken Hearts Go" This track was medicine for an ailing heart. In 1988, Houston turned in yet another big ballad that wasn't at all overreaching. She once again took her made-for-the-choir-rafters voice and layered it over a radio-friendly beat, creating her record-setting seventh-consecutive hit. 7. "I Believe In You And Me" - For her 1996 film, The Preacher’s Wife, Whi ...
