My review of The Grand Budapest Hotel: My oh my, you don't see this very often. I don't even know how to start this review properly. I can only start by saying: The Grand Budapest Hotel is a work of art, a masterpiece, an innovation in the movie industry. Directed, written and produced by Wes Anderson, this beautiful *** created one of the most unique, beautiful and colourful experiences I will ever see. The cinematography I MUST point out was stunning with the set pieces and various sequences that went along with it. The movie also features a stellar cast! Bill Murray, Jeff Goldblum, Owen Wilson, Willem Dafoe, Jude Law, Adrian Brody, F. Murray Abraham, Saoirse Ronan, the list goes on! And great performances from all even from the minor roles! I had a smile on my face throughout the WHOLE and I mean WHOLE movie just admiring the clever sequences, abstract film style, colours, actors, etc. Just everything about this movie was amazing. A spot on soundtrack too, It went so well with whatever the movie we ...
The only way Bill Murray would ever return to the Ghostbusters franchise is if Wes Anderson directed it. I would actually watch that.
One of my favorite Wes Anderson and Bill Murray movies.
I had this thought last night about Bill Murray. A plausible theory and one I hope will prove to be true. During his break from acting in 1984, after the flop of The Razor's Edge, he studied philosophy and history at the Sorbonne. Bill embraced a philosophy of living on his own terms and that he would film it. First on video and then after his first movie with Wes Anderson on film and in earnest. About this time the legend of Bill started to arise. Having no manager but an answering machine, showing up at random parties and locations, doing good but strange deeds. In my head, Bill has been shooting a surreal autobiographical film that will only be released after his death. I will cherish this movie.

THIS FRIDAY OR SATURDAY- The Grand Budapest Hotel is playing at Steel Stacks this weekend on both Friday and Saturday, and I think it would be fantastic to get a group to go on either night at either 6 or 8:30. It is rated R, but this is an informal meeting so if 17 permission slips not needed, if under 17 and you still want to go message me and I'll see if I can work something out. Mrs. O'Donnell has already seen the movie and said it's beautiful, so I really hope some people will join me in seeing and discussing it, I'm going no matter what. I absolutely love Wes Anderson, and if you don't really know him, I'm sure you'd like him too, his movies are wonderfully silly and fun and basically all include Owen Wilson, Bill Murray, and a fantastic color scheme. Whoever can come, member or not, as long as they can pay for a movie ticket. If you plan on attending, just comment or message me so we can pick out a time to go. Hopefully see you there!
You know, despite my displeasure with both Wes Anderson and modern Bill Murray, I still want to see The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou.

Hey guys what's the name of that Wes Anderson movie, you know the one with Bill Murray and Jason Schwartzman in it, the one with the bicycle
"The Grand Budapest Hotel" is Wes Anderson's best written and best directed film to date. It opens today (Friday). The film is eclectic, playful, visually witty, and verbally hilarious. The story emphasizes Supreme Concierge Gustav M(Ralph Fiennes) who runs around the Grand Budapest Hotel much like Charlie Chaplin would. Madame D (Tilda Swinton) one of the many dowagers who live in the hotel and who has a strong relationship with Gustav is murdered. Dmitri (Adrien Brody) who is Madame D's son and who expects her inheritance to be shared with his sisters sends the police to arrest Gustav at the Budapest Hotel, and when the police arrive, Gustav flees in a very strong impersonation of the style of Chaplin. The police chase him with the fervor of the Keystone Cops. Ultimately, he is charged with the murder of Madame D with whom Gustav has had sexual relations for money that have enlarged his pay. As usual in Anderson films, many cameos of well-known actors such as Edward Norton, Bill Murray, Owen Wil ...
So that new "Grand Budapest Hotel" movie just sounds like something out of a dream. Directed by Wes Anderson, starring Ralph Fiennes, Bill Murray, Willem Dufoe, Ed Norton, Adrian Brody (and the list goes on), AND it's not getting shat on by critics??? Sign me up for that cast alone
Wes Anderson heads to Europe for the first time with this Indian Paintbrush production starring Saoirse Ronan, Ralph Fiennes, Bill Murray, and Jude Law. The famous concierge at a legendary hotel situated in the Alps becomes the center of a farcical whirlwind of suspicion when one of his institution's oldest and richest patrons turns up dead, and she suspiciously leaves him her most priceless work of art -- a Renaissance painting of a boy with an apple.
Looking forward to seeing the 'Grand Budapest Hotel' tomorrow. I like Wes Anderson's other stuff especially 'the Life Aquatic' and the 'the Royal Tenenbaums' love the huge casts and awesome visuals, plus Ralph Fiennes and Bill Murray?! *** yes.
In case you missed it: My illustration of Bill Murray as Steve Zissou from Wes Anderson's Life Aquatic
Mkay peeps have a pass for 2 for the Grand Budapest Hotel screening this Wednesday at 7:30 at the Chez Artiste. This is Wes Anderson's new film starring Ralph Fiennes, Bill Murray, Tilda Swinton, Owen Wilson, Edward Norton, Jude Law and more!
I'm so in love with Wes Anderson, Bill Murray and Tom Tykwer
With most Wes Anderson films, I experience two competing reactions. Formally, Anderson is a striking director who pays attention to every detail. My only criticism here is his tendency for symmetrical compositions that extends to OCD levels. But his on-screen perfectionism from the camera movement to the set design to the perfect timing of delivered lines feels as exacting as Kubrick and one can marvel at it similarly. Only Kubrick doesn’t do cute. Anderson does. He exudes this twee primness, an oversaturation of charm that even when it works, it grates. Grand Budapest Hotel is very charming and often grating. Ralph Fiennes, F. Murray Abraham, and newcomer Tony Revolori are all superb, and Jude Law, Saoirse Ronan, Edward Norton, and Jeff Goldblum are all vivid in small parts. At the same time, Mathieu Amalric and Adrien Brody are wasted, and so many stars make so many insubstantial cameos that it becomes distracting – Bill Murray, Lea Seydoux, Harvey Keitel, Bob Balaban, and Owen Wilson among them. Wi ...

I have an incredible urge to have a Wes Anderson movie marathon soon. You can't go wrong with Bill Murray and Jason Schwartzman.
Watched Rushmore last night. Finally after such a long time (1 year) wanting to see this movie. I really enjoyed it. It was very Wes Anderson, quirky and very likeable. Jason Schwartzman is fantastic in his role, playing a loveable loser. He plays it in a way that you actually like him and find him to be an interesting character. Bill Murray was fantastic in this movie as he always is. Some really great music in this film (have to get the soundtrack). It was very amusing, had me smiling through-out and giggling quite a lot. Overall: 9/10= As a Wes Anderson movie, it's done it's trick and I'd recommend it strongly to anyone who likes his movies.
I think we no longer need to be told a film is by Wes Anderson. Just look for Bill Murray, Ed Norton, Jason Schwartzman or a Wilson brother.
Wes Anderson just does it so well! Can't beat a bit of Willem Dafoe, Ralph Fiennes and Bill Murray

I'd really like to see Wes Anderson remake Peter Pan with Jason Schwartzman as Captain Hook and Bill Murray as Smee. You know it would be awesome.
Like many of cinema's great contemporary actor and director teams, relationships, partnerships, or whatever you want to call them, like Sam Jackson & Quentin Tarantino, Bill Murray & Wes Anderson, Michael Caine & Christopher Nolan, Johnny Depp & Tim Burton, Leo & Martin Scorsese, Michael Fassbender & Steve Mcqueen, and the list goes on and on... my favorite pair was Philip Seymour Hoffman and Paul Thomas Anderson. But alas, after today we sadly can't expect to see anymore outings of this fine filmic chemistry. My favorite performance of his being his scene (over the phone) with Adam Sandler in PUNCH-DRUNK LOVE. But outside of PT Anderson's works, from SAVAGES to CAPOTE to MONEYBALL, to ALMOST FAMOUS and M:I3 (and again, the list goes on), PSH was one of our great American actors and will surely be missed. RIP Philip Seymour Hoffman.
I'm scrolling around the movies looking for Groundhog Day and couldn't find it so I try Bill Murray...nothing. "I can't find Bill Murray" I say. Nia looks at me and says, "because Wes Anderson has copyrights to the name Bill Murray!" I'm like huh? She looks at me with my dumb founded face and clarifies the joke, "you could say the same for Tim Burton and Johnny Depp." Okay, duh I get it.
Wow... Thank you Bill Murray, Darjeeling Limited, and Life Aquatic for preparing me for the awesome nature in Moonrise Kingdom; and of course Wes Anderson for making all these movies... I think isighed and wished Brian was here watching it with me at least 3 times...
A thought that just occurred to me for the first time today: Given that Bill Murray first got famous in the '70s and '80s for broad, sloppy, goofy comedies (Caddyshack, Meatballs, Stripes, etc), it would've actually made more sense for him to fall in with that whole Will Ferrell crowd here in his "winter comeback," and it's actually a testament to his courage as an artist that he chose instead to fall in with the smart, artsy, quirky comedy crowd (Wes Anderson, Sophia Coppola, etc). BUT, I suspect if he tried to be in one of those eyerolling "Anchorman"-type wacka-wacka '70s-Murray-homages here in old age, he would look just sad and defeated; so perhaps it's actually the most natural thing in the world for him to change instead to more sophisticated and subtle comedies, that work better for his age and his growing "living legend" status. Whatever the case, after watching "Lost in Translation" again last night, I was reminded again of how incredibly much admiration I have for him as an artist, given how mu ...

So I have a theory involving Wes Anderson's Grand Budapest Hotel, it's plot, and the poster that came out. I'm writing this here prior to the trailer that should come out tomorrow to see if I have indeed predicted the future. From vague releases regarding the plot, we know the story centers around Ralph Fiennes character Gustave H, a legendary hotel concierge as he trains his protege Tony Revolori. From the poster, both of their credits are pink. From photos taken on set, Owen Wilson likely works for the hotel in some capacity. His credit is Going along this train, I'm surmising that all of the pink credits on the poster represent hotel workers (Bill Murray, Adrien Brody, Lea Seydoux, Willem Dafoe, Tilda Swinton, and Jude Law). We know that there are two other stories within the movie and, not to give anything away, but one seems to involve a theft. I'm guessing the red credits (F. Murray Abraham, Edward Norton, Jeff Goldblum, and Jason Schwartzman) are guests involved in the theft stor ...

Quinton Tarantino, David Lynch, and Wes Anderson should make a four hour movie starring Bill Murray, Clint Eastwood, Steve Buschemi, Willem Dafoe, Brad Pitt, Kristen Schaal, Mel Gibson, David Cross, Amy Poehler, Louis CK, and Anthony Hopkins, called Bronze Age Collapse. It will cover the entire Bronze age collapse, begining with a few large raids in 1206 B.C., moving to the Trojan War, the fall of Crete, the invasion of the Sea Peoples against Egypt, the nefarius Habirew tribe and their wars in Egypt and the levant (probably the historical precursers of the Hebrews), the complete destruction of the mighty Hittite Empire, Phoenicians and others in the Levant, the shorter lived fall of Mesopotamia, and finally the end of Mycenaean Civilization, around 1150 B.C. It should also be four hours long.

Rushmore, The Darjeeling Limited, The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou, The Royal Tennenbaums, Moonrise Kingdom, Fantastic Mr. Fox. think those are the only ones ive seen of his. Great Director, Martin Scorsese agrees with me.
Superhero movie idea: Wes Anderson writes and directs. Bill Murray (with beard) stars as John Jones, a lonely, pyrophobic private detective who claims to be the the last survivor of the Martian race. No special effects, no green skin.
Just watched Moonrise Kingdom. Wow. What a quirky movie. Bruce Willis and Bill Murray gave it credibility as a comedy/drama. (dramedy?) Surely there are many layers to this movie. Opinions?
Well, I watched "Moonrise Kingdom" and wasn't as impressed as I thought I might be (I guess I'd expected more with a combination of Bill Murray, Edward Norton, Bruce Willis, Frances Mcdormand and Tilda Swinton in a Wes Anderson film); but I was pleasantly surprised to find they used a Françoise Hardy song in it ("Le Temps de l'Amour")! I'm aware the film has been nominated for an Academy Award and has won and been nominated for other honors; but considering all the talent oozing from the stellar cast and crew, I felt it was a rather lame film. Nonetheless, I was really, really pleased they chose to include Françoise's song.

Moonrise Kingdom: written by Wes Anderson and Roman Coppola; directed by Wes Anderson; starring Jared Gilman (Sam Shakusky), Kara Hayward (Suzy Bishop), Bruce Willis (Captain Sharp), Edward Norton (Scout Master Ward), Bill Murray (Walt Bishop), Frances Mcdormand (Laura Bishop), and Bob Balaban (Narrator) (2012): Another one of Wes Anderson's tiny, nearly perfect miniatures, quirky as usual and humane.   The love of 12-year-olds Sam Shakusky and Suzy Bishop leads them to run away from home. Well, he runs away from his Khaki Scout Troop. But all this is happening on one of the small, rural islands near New York (so far as I can tell, anyway) in the mid-1960's, and there's a major storm rolling in.   The major players are Sam, an orphan whose foster family intends to send him back to Social Services; Suzy, a depressed outsider with a great love of reading and mascara; Police Captain Sharp, a lonely bachelor having an affair with Suzy's mother, played by Frances Mcdormand; Walt Bishop, played by Bill Mur ...

The only way to get Bill Murray to do 3 is to have Wes Anderson direct it. Problem solved. Let's get this going.
I'm not a diehard Wes Anderson fan, but I certainly like his films. Know what you're getting into, and you should be good. On a tiny New England island, a weird, young Boy Scout has disappeared (sort of) and so has a 13-year old girl. So starts the kooky hijinks. Ed Norton, Bruce Willis, Bill Murray, Frances Mcdormand, Jason Schwartzman, Tilda Swinton and a couple surprises highlight this typically quirky, odd and unique Wes Anderson film.
If I was trying to get Bill Murray to be in the next ghostbusters, I'd tell him that Wes Anderson was signed on
