Beatrice Straight won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for Network in 1976 for seven minutes of screen time -- Judi Dench might have had six when she won for Shakespeare in Love (1998) -- Robert Duvall is onscreen for fifteen minutes in Apocalypse Now (79) and the film, as stunning as it is, never quite recovers -- Robert De Niro nearly stole American Hustle (13) last year with a five minute scene as a mobster in which he was quietly terrifying -- so what are the greatest "cameo" performances you have ever seen? Can we set the time to less ten minutes of screen time? Here are mine... 1. Robert Duvall in Apocalypse Now (79) 2. Tom Cruise in Tropic Thunder (08) 3. Beatrice Straight in Network (76) 4. Robin Williams in Dead Again (91) 5. Dean Stockwell in Blue Velvet (86) 6. Julianne Moore in Children of Men (07) 7, James Gandolfini in Zero Dark Thirty (12) 8. Barry Pepper in True Grit (10) 9. Alec Baldwin in Glengarry Glenn Ross (92) 10. Bill Murray in Little Shop of Horrors (86) And there are ...
If you have not seen Get Low, it was an amazing film produced by Dean Zanuck starring Robert DuVall and Bill Murray. It was DuVall's best performance of his life in the opinion of many people and had the movie not been completely overlooked DuVall may have won Best Actor for this role. I was on the SAG Nominating Committee that year and had to see every movie and I can say this unequivocally!
Hey look what's about to come on.. Robert Duvall is playing you and Bill Murray is playing

Directed by Aaron Schneider. With Robert Duvall, Bill Murray, Sissy Spacek, Lucas Black. A movie spun out of equal parts folk tale, fable and real-life legend about the mysterious, 1930s Tennessee hermit who famously threw his own rollicking funeral party... while he was still alive.

Watched "Get Low" a movie starring Robert Duvall and Bill Murray, two of my favorites. If you have not seen it you should! No one does "old" better than Duvall. Of course, he is 81 now. Sigh. . . I am thankful for Robert Duvall movies.
We watched Get Low over the week-end... shot beautifully with outstanding performances by Robert Duvall, Sissy Spacek, Bill Murray. without getting too deep or two low, one of the the main themes had to do with the prisons we put ourselves in when its not always fully our fault, but shared with others and circumstances we are in at the time.but with forgiveness all are set free...
just watched Get Low with Robert Duvall and Bill Murray. It's a fantastic gem of a movie; beautiful, funny, and sad. Worth a watch!
Watched the movie Get Low, last night starring Robert Duvall, and Bill Murray. Great film, highly recommend it, especially for the soundtrack.
Watching Slingblade a movie written and directed by a genius. An average man that was once with Angeline Jolie. I rest my case on that one. John Ritter one the Best Actors of all time. Just watch Bad Santa. The boy in Slingblade was also in the movie Get Low starring another one of the Best Actors of all time Robert Duvall, a great movie to get on Netflix. Bill Murray is also in Get Low. Dwight Yokum plays the bad guy in Slingblade and did a great cd featuring the hits of Buck Owens from the capital of California. Where am I and what the *** time is it anyway? What does it all mean? Why didn't they teach me anything at O'Keefe?
Just watched a movie called Get Low Robert Duvall, Sissy Spaceck, Bill Murray, Lucas Black. I had never heard of it. Pretty Good movie differant, I think its an Indie film Done by Zanuck Independant.
Other noted scene-stealers: You should check out Bill Murray in "Get Low." If you can steal a scene from Robert Duvall and Sissy Spacek, then Brother, you got it! And a Very Special Salute to Gary Busey, for his gifted and brain-damaged work on "Celebrity Rehab", where Gary honestly thought he was a member of the clinical staff. Masterful!
Attention bored people- Get Low is on Netflix and is totally great. Grizzled Robert Duvall. Bill Murray. Plot is dark simple and sweet.
Just watched "Get Low" for the second time--what a timeless gem! Is there a finer actor than Robert Duvall? And Bill Murray is as good as I have ever seen him. Sissy Spacek--always the consummate actress. If you have never seen this film from 2 years ago, you may want to consider putting it on your list. Granted, it may not compete with "The Avengers," but can that be a bad thing??
Legendary actor Robert Duvall is interviewed by Annette Insdorf. In addition to clips from his previous work, Get Low (2010) is screened. Duvall plays an ornery hermit who begins to return to life after planning a funeral party for himself. Co-starring Bill Murray and Sissy Spacek, Get Low is direct...
GET LOW on Encore Drama. If Robert Duvall, Lucas Black, or Bill Murray were to be cast on ANY one of my scripts, I could die Happy.
Robert Duvall and Bill Murray playing old men -- imagine that
