I remember it well. My favorite show as a young kid. I would skip going to parties to stay home on Saturday night to see the show. It taught me so much about comedy but also about what was going on in the world through the Weekend Update news reports. So funny and it was educational especially for a young girl. My favorites were Bill Murray, Gilda Radner, Dan Aykroyd, John Belushi, that's about the whole cast, LOL!
Dan Aykroyd wants Ghostbusters 3 to be the next Marvel Cinematic Universe. Without Bill Murray. And Harold Ramis.

Dan Aykroyd (7/01/1952 - ) was born in Ottawa, Canada. He is an actor and comedian known for his performances on Saturday Night Live, and in the hit films The Blues Brothers and Ghostbusters. He was born with different colored eyes and webbed toes, and planned on becoming a Catholic priest until he turned 17. In 1975, Aykroyd helped make television history when he became part of the original cast of the late night-comedy program Saturday Night Live. He delighted audiences with his skilled impersonations of the likes of President Jimmy Carter, talk show host Tom Snyder and TV chef Julia Child. Aykroyd acted and co-wrote the script for the humorous supernatural blockbuster Ghostbusters. The movie also starred Bill Murray and Harold Ramis, and the trio reprised their roles as ghost-hunting scientists in the 1989 sequel. Aykroyd worked with fellow SNL alum Chevy Chase in 1985's Spies Like Us. In 1989, he took on more serious fare with a supporting role in the drama Driving Miss Daisy; Aykroyd received an Aca ...
ON this day THIRTY YEARS AGO.On this day in 1984, the now-classic comedy Ghostbusters is released in theaters across the United States. Produced and directed by Ivan Reitman, Ghostbusters starred Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis as disgraced parapsychology professors in New York City who turn to “paranormal investigation”--hunting down and capturing ghosts---to make money after Columbia University yanks their research grants. Suddenly overwhelmed by the demand for their services, they hire a fourth team member (Ernie Hudson) who predicts that the increased supernatural activity is building to a catastrophic Judgement Day-like scenario. His fears turn out to be right on target, and all *** breaks loose after a skeptical government official (William Atherton) pulls the plug on the ghostbusters’ containment system. Sigourney Weaver and Rick Moranis co-starred as Manhattan apartment dwellers possessed by followers of a long-dead deity, Gozer, with whom the ghostbusters must wage a climactic ba ...
WHO YA GONNA CALL? It's the 30th Anniversary of GHOSTBUSTERS! I you want to wonder why I love this movie, watch it and I'm sure you'll laugh at least once. Check out some of my previous posts for some fun facts about the movie. Special Thank You to some of the people that made it happen: Michael Gross, Ernie Hudson, Dan Aykroyd, Rick Moranis, Robin Shelby, Jim Fye, William Forsche, Will Deutschendorf, Harold Ramis, Bill Murray, William Atherton, Hank Deutschendorf, Annie Potts,, Sigourney Weaver Here are two of my proudest moments as a fan of Ghostbusters

Bill Murray plays me, Dan Aykroyd as Caz, Yang = Harold Ramis and Simon is Ernie Hudson (didn’t believe in ghosts)
1. Open letter to Tom Cruise. No one wants a sequel to Top Gun. We LOVE that movie because it reminds us of a time when you weren't crazy. 2. Open letter to Dan Aykroyd. No one wants your dumb Ghostbusters sequel without Harold Ramis and Bill Murray.

Dan Aykroyd is at this basketball game and the dudes in front of me think he is Bill Murray.
We've had a little time to process the passing of Harold Ramis, and unfortunately, no words can really express how moved we all are by this event. Although he is no longer with us physically, I like to think he's in a better place. His spirit and sense of humor with be with us forever. It's hard to imagine what this means for Ghostbusters 3, considering how difficult it has already been with the possibility that Bill Murray might not be involved, but my hope is that they go ahead with Dan Aykroyd at the helm, and hopefully Billy will jump on-board. I would like to see something of a tribute in the third movie. In the mean time, James Rolfe, owner of and famous for his derogatory comedy web series The Angry Video Game Nerd has released a tribute video discussing the life of Harold Ramis, so I hope you will find that interesting. Peace be with you, good sir. You are welcome to come haunt our movies anytime.
I just want to take a second to remember a very funny actor and comedian that we lost. I feel like he did not get the recognition he so truly deserves. With that being said here is my goodbye to one of the all time greats. Harold Ramis passed away on feb 24 2014. You all may not know him by his real name, most just referred to him as Egon. Harold acted, directed, written or, stared in some all time classics. Films that made you laugh and cry. Moives that you could not wait to see again or still to this day own. Great Moives that people can still repeat lines too in everyday conversation. Moives like Knocked Up, As Good as It Gets, Ghostbusters, Ghostbusters II, Stripes, Animal House, Year One, The Office, The Ice Harvest, Analyze This, Analyze That, National Lampoon's Vacation, Groundhog Day, and the great caddyshack. Harold acted along side or directed for some of the greats like Bill Murray, John Candy, Chevy Chase, Dan Aykroyd, Jack Nicholson, Helen Hunt, Seth Rogen, Jack Black, John C. Reilly, Ro ...
Harold Ramis dies: Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd lead tributes, saying ‘he earned his keep on this planet’
"Ghostbusters 3" Moving Forward Without Harold Ramis Harold Ramis' recent death was a great loss for Hollywood, since so many writers, directors and actors worked with him or were inspired by him. And even though Ramis didn't have many projects in the works, due to his failing health, he leaves behind "Ghostbusters III." Now comes word from The Hollywood Reporter that despite Ramis' death, "Ghostbusters III" director Ivan Reitman will be meeting with Sony to discuss moving forward. It turns out that Ramis, Bill Murray, and Dan Aykroyd were set to make only cameo appearances. And since Ramis passed away, the script will need to be slightly altered. The plan has been to begin shooting this year. It's not clear if that's still the plan. Either way, it seems that everyone involved will miss not having Egon Spengler in the film.
Wish I lived in New York. I read fans of Ghostbusters are leaving tributes to Harld Ramis at the Gostbusters firehouse in lower Manhattan. I'd leave a box of Twinkie's as a memorial. Unfortunately, Ramis's death isn't stopping GHOSTBUSTERS III from happening. A bad idea to begin with. I'd rather see a remake or a TV series before a third movie. Bill Murray isn't interested, leaving only Dan Aykroyd and Ernie Hudson on board.
I thought about getting one of those Bill Murray decals for my car, then decided it's overdone. I might have to make one of Dan Aykroyd or Christopher Walken. And a Yoda or a Stormtrooper, or Obi Wan Kenobi.
'Ghostbusters' sequel still on after Ramis' death Feb. 25, 2014, 9:00 PM EST WENN The second "Ghostbusters" sequel is still a go, despite the death of Harold Ramis. The actor/director had been scheduled to make a cameo appearance along with the other original "Ghostbusters," Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd, in the film, according to The Hollywood Reporter, and it was feared his death on Monday would scupper plans. But Sony insiders claim studio bosses still want to make the film and they're sitting down with director Ivan Reitman this week to discuss how to proceed. Filming is still set to start later this year.
Seeing as a full Ghostbusters reunion won't happen, here are John's picks for a new cast: Kevin Hart or Dave Chappelle in Ernie Hudson's role, Jason Segel in Dan Aykroyd's, Paul Rudd for Bill Murray's role, and Jonah Hill or Michael Cera for the late Harold Ramis's part. What are your picks?
Harold Ramis was a familiar presence in comedies for more than three decades. From left, he, Dan Aykroyd and Bill Murray star in the 1984 film
Harold Ramis, star of 'Ghostbusters', dies at the age of 69 CHICAGO: An attorney for Harold Ramis has said that the actor has died. Fred Toczek has told The Associated Press that Ramis died early on Monday morning from complications of autoimmune inflammatory disease. He was 69. Ramis is best known for his roles in the comedies "Ghostbusters" and "Stripes". According to, Ramis co-wrote "Ghostbusters", in which he appeared with fellow Second City alums Dan Aykroyd and Bill Murray. The website says he also co-wrote "National Lampoon's Animal House" and "Meatballs" and directed such films as "Caddyshack" and "Groundhog Day".
Few characters have been so perfectly and efficiently introduced on film as Dr. Egon Spengler. We meet Egon listening to a table. Listening. To a table. Intently and completely straight. When partner Venkman begins to mess with him, he responds not with slapstick or a whacky look, but an intense frown. And when Venkman pops his ears with a slammed book, Egon doesn't respond with anger, but a simple, matter of fact "Oh, it's you." In less than 15 seconds we know exactly who Egon Spengler is on the Ghostbusters team and at the same time, he is something we haven't seen in a long time, a mad scientist for the end of the 20th century. As much as Dan Aykroyd and Bill Murray made their roles their own, we'd seen charming con men and enthusiastic boffins before. Egon, with his high hair and ever present calculator, was unique. It is a testament to Harold Ramis' dry wit and comedy talent that they could find nobody else who suited the role, and so the man who created the character and wrote his lines, got to act ...
STANDARD: Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd lead tributes to late Hollywood star Harold Ramis
Dan Aykroyd says that Bill Murray is definitely out of 'Ghostbusters 3' and addresses the possibility of recasting Peter Venkman.
I am very sad about but secretly I'm really glad it wasn't Bill Murray or Dan Aykroyd.
Does this mean that Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd are going to try and catch Harold Ramis now? That could be the new premise of Ghostbusters 3, just saying.
More Harold Ramis Trivia! Did you know Ghostbusters was originally intended to be another buddy movie with Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi but Belushi died before the movie was shot, so they re-wrote the part for Bill Murray.
The latest draft of the 3rd film, written by Dan Aykroyd, was going to be called "Ghostbusters Go To *** -- Which could have been really funny. So funny that Bill Murray should step up and get a new script written and make it anyway, in honor of Egon. RIP Harold Ramis
I think that Dan Aykroyd used the rumors of Ghostbusters 3 script as a way to allow Harold Ramis to give Bill Murray the news about his illness himself.
00:12 Bill Murray joins Dan Aykroyd on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson (continued from Summer of '89: part 5)
Very sad about the death of Harold Ramis - I just hope that Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd can bring him back. And the marshmallow man, I'm hungry. RIP Harold - too many good people dying
Tonight the world lost one of it's quietest and most influential stars of the 80's movie world. A genre shaping, schedule busting, expectation shattering comedic powerhouse who wrote amazing scripts, had the foresight to cast great talent and the humility to let them create within his framework, which as an artist is a hard thing to do (build a world and then let someone else paint the walls). He co-wrote Animal House, Caddyshack, Stripes, Ghostbusters as well as many more from the 80's through to modern times, helped create the legendary iconic status of John Belushi and Bill Murray, and kept Dan Aykroyd in Crystal Skulls for his weird vodka. He directed one of my favorite movies of ALL TIME Groundhog Day where a horrible excuse of a human being Bill Murray (he plays that role a lot) is forced to relive a terrible day in a lame small town until he finds a way to connect to the world again. it's a lot sweeter than the previews and the initial story make it out to be and it's a story worth watching. Haro . ...
Harold Ramis taught me comedy. He was brilliant in directing Caddyshack, Groundhog Day, & Analyze This to name a very few. Every time I watched Ghostbusters, or Stripes, I watched this honest, insanely funny dude go toe to toe with Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd and straight man the *** out of them. He wrote so much. His pacing was incredible and his timing was perfect. I never met him, but if I had, I would have probably just stared and fan girled out. Simply the best sir, thank you for everything. Glitter to you

Is it wrong that I immediately pictured Harold Ramis as a ghost, with Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson, and Dan Aykroyd trying to capture him?
for the love of god... somebody please go protect Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd... i cant lose them this year too...
R.I.P. Harold Ramis (aka Dr. Egon Spengler on Ghostbusters) Now let's just see if Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd can bust this ghost without him.
Hi everyone this is Pete, I would like to send out my deepest condolences to the family of Harold Ramis. I can say that you, Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd inspired me to be a "ghostbuster." I made my dad take me to see it 12 times in the theater, lol. anyone else have any fond memories to share...
OMG - Harold Ramis is dead at 69. Ghostbusters defined so many of our childhoods. I thought he was brilliant and what a team the cast made! Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, Sigourney Weaver and Rick Moranis: they will always be young to us.
I had a dream last night that I was watching Ghostbusters and Dan Aykroyd, Sigourney Weaver, and Bill Murray were sitting with me on my couch. I wonder what it means.
.When do you start filming the next Ghostbusters? Stop talking & start filming. We won't miss Bill Murray with his attitude
If I was Bill Murray there would me no amount of money I could be paid to make me hang out with Dan Aykroyd
People are really excited about new cast, but unless Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd or Chris Kattan is returning — still not watching.
Last night Todd said at Lonnie Brooks 80th bday bash he met Dan Aykroyd (the MC) and told him he was friends with Bill Murray. Aykroyd said Bill never answers his calls so Todd dialed him up and gave the phone to Dan!
Chicago Lessons: Second City: Nickname for Chicago. For decades, Chicago was second to NY in its population. Today, it’s the third largest city in the US, with nearly 3 million people, behind NY and LA. Second City is also a renowned comedy club, the source of comedians like Joan Rivers, Bill Murray, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, John & Jim Belushi, Gilda Radner, Dan Aykroyd and even Mike Myers!
Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd dusted off their Ghostbusters costumes to visit a terminally ill child who was a fan of the film.
Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd are my two favorite comedic actors
I had a dream that I met Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd at a diner. They wanted to pay for the rest of my education.
: I miss the old school, in their primes, Dan Aykroyd, Eddie Murphy, Bill Murray, Chevy Chase. Those guys knew comedy. Don't get me wrong I love the new guys IE Seth Rogen, Paul Rudd, Will Farrel, Danny Mcbride. But they don't quite have the charm of those old school cats.

Anthony elected to watch ghostbusters tonight. I'm very proud he shares my love of Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd.
Hey, hi, do you see this? This is three, count 'em, THREE fantastic hosts to end out the year. Paul Rudd is an excellent improviser and comedian (see: Anchorman). He'll do great, but he will probably be like Bruce Willis, where he's funny, but he's also the star of the show. He's also one of the Kissing Vogelchecks (which probably won't return because Fred, Kristen, and Bill all have left). John Goodman (hosting for the first time since 2001) will maintain his third place spot for most times hosting (after Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin). No doubt he'll integrate himself into the cast, despite his age. I'm probably more excited about his episode than any other that I've reviewed. Jimmy Fallon will obviously do a great job on his second time hosting the Christmas episode. He probably returns to the Update desk, hopefully joined by Amy (Tina already stopped by at the beginning of the season). I'd also be partial to other past hosts returning (Jane Curtin, Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, Dennis Miller, Norm MacDona ...

The stones, aykroyd, belushi, murray! and me?. I used to hang with Dan Aykroyd and Bill Murray and John Belushi in their club, the Blues Bar, in New York, around 1979. Belushi was an over-the-top man. You can say THAT again. I said to John once, as my Father says, there’s a difference between scratching your *** and tearing it to bits. John was hilarious, and nuts to hang with. Belushi was an extreme experience even by my standards. A case in point. When I was a kid, I’d pop round *** s house. You want something to drink. Open the fridge, there’s nothing in it except maybe half a tomato. Big fridge. Thirty years later, walk into *** s apartment, open the fridge, it’s an even bigger fridge, what’s in there? Half a tomato and a bottle of beer. One night around this time, when we’d been handing out with Belushi in New York, we’d been in session all night and Ronnie and *** and I had gone back to *** s apartment. There’s a knock at the door, and there’s Belushi, dressed in a porte ...

GHOSTBUSTERS 3 IS A GO AS Billy Murray SIGNS ON - REPORT By: WENN.Com Source 9:15AM EST UPDATE: has reached out to Sony regarding WENN's story, who declined to comment. Lost In Translation star Bill Murray is back on board the Ghostbusters 3 movie after reportedly dropping out of the sequel. Co-star Harold Ramis has confirmed the funnyman will be reprising his role as Dr. Peter Venkman in the follow-up to 1989's Ghostbusters II. The news comes after Murray stunned reporters on the red carpet at the recent Hyde Park on Hudson premiere by revealing he was considering returning to the franchise. Before that, fans and castmate Dan Aykroyd, who has been championing the third film for years, had all but given up hope that Murray would return - this past summer (12), the Canadian actor, who played Dr. Raymond Stantz in the first two Ghostbusters films, told Metro magazine the project would be moving on without its star. Aykroyd said, "He (Murray) won't be involved... It's sad but we're passing it o ...
Hey guys, "Man of Steel" comes out this weekend! That's all the excuse we need to revisit this 1979 "Saturday Night Live" sketch, featuring Bill Murray as Superman, Dan Aykroyd as The Flash, John Belushi as The Hulk, among others.

There are just very few things in my life that I have been waiting for so anxiously since I was 8 years old. Bill Murray raised me to some extent. Dan Aykroyd: “It’s based upon new research that’s being done in particle physics by the young men and women at Columbia University.” Aykroyd added, “Basically there’s research being done that…I can say that the world or our dimension that we live in, our four planes of existence, length, height, width, and time, become threatened by some of the research that is being done. And ghostbusters, new ghostbusters have to come and solve the problem.”
In a new interview on Larry King Now, Dan Aykroyd has revealed some of the plot details for Ghostbusters 3. And while every other month seems to bring a new rumor over if Bill Murray will participate, Dan Aykroyd said Murray is not currently part of the movie. Aykroyd said, “He’s a good friend, I [.

Another one of the greatest movies ever, 1984's Ghostbusters. The story is about 3 men Peter Venkman(Bill Murray) Ray Stantz(Dan Aykroyd), and Egon Spenler(Harold Ramis). All day they stop ghosts from attacking people. One day Peter falls in love with Dana Barrett.(Sigourney Weaver) and moments later Dana is kidnapped and controlled by a large ghost. Then the Ghostbusters add one more to their group, Winston Zeddmore(Ernie Hudson) so they can hunt Dana's ghost. My favorite part of the movie is the State Puft Marshmallow Man.
There have been 3 sets of brothers cast on SNL-John Belushi-James Belushi, Dan Aykroyd- Peter Aykroyd, Bill Murray- Brian Doyle-Murray

Growing up during the ‘80s, John Candy has always been the quintessential comedian to me.  The comedies that I watched as a kid included all the major Candy films, The Great Outdoors, Uncle Buck, Spaceballs, etc., and I even watched his short lived Saturday morning cartoon series Camp Candy.  To me, John Candy will always be the one and only King of Comedy.   Looking back over John Candy’s films, he’s the consummate family comedian.  Though he’s been in a few rated R films, 90% of his work is family friendly, from Summer Rental to Cool Runnings.  And thanks to his partnership with John Hughes, he received roles in most of the major Hugh films; from National Lampoon’s Vacation to Home Alone.  Additionally, Candy worked with nearly every leading comedic actor of his day; Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Chevy Chase, Eugene Levy, Steve Martin, Tom Hanks, and Rick Moranis.  John Candy was a comedic icon, who worked with the best and produced a brilliant legacy of films that lives on.  Long live ...

REALLY digging the old clips from "back in the day"! Steve Martin, Jim Belushi, Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd...
Bill Murray, Chevy Chase and Dan Aykroyd turned down the roles of Boone, Otter and D-Day in Animal House.
It's true. My crush is on Ghostbusters-era Dan Aykroyd and Bill Murray.
I can't decide who I have a bigger crush on: Dan Aykroyd or Bill Murray.
Once upon a time, Dan Aykroyd looked cooler than Bill Murray.
Bill Murray should appear in the new Star Wars movie just to *** off Dan Aykroyd.
Jim Belushi, Chevy Chase, Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, Chris Farley, Dana Carvey... It was even good with Adam Sandler and Chris Rock.
Dan Aykroyd and Bill Murray did it. Bust them with funny video criticism.
Directed by Ivan Reitman. With Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Sigourney Weaver, Harold Ramis. The discovery of a massive river of ectoplasm and a resurgence of spectral activity allows the staff of Ghostbusters to revive the business.
how about any cast members from the 70s like Laraine Newman, Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Jane Curtin or Garrett Morris?
People who deify Bill Murray because he's in all these Wes Anderson movies need to realize that Dan Aykroyd is 1000x more completely awesome
Brilliant. "They should replace Chevy Chase on Community with Bill Murray or Dan Aykroyd and have none of the characters notice except Abed."
I just found out that even though Bill Murray will not be apart of Ghostbusters 3, but they are having back Harold Ramis, Dan Aykroyd, and Ernie Hudson, which were the original cast. Amongst the old cast is the new cast: Bill Hader, Jonah Hill, Michael Cera, Emma Stone and Anna Faris. WOW!!! Anticipation builds for this continued classic!
Looks like Ghostbusters 3 is moving on without Bill Murray. Dang shame.
Just heard that Ghostbusters 3 will be coming out! Instead of fighting ghosts in the city though, Dan Aykroyd and Bill Murray will be fighting them in their respective nursing homes. Shooting may take a while also, due to extended potty breaks, naps, and snack time.
Dan Aykroyd is back and Bill Murray isn't? Great, it'll be GHOSTBUSTERS 3000
Halfway through the first episode of 666 Park Avenue. Even though it's a drama, I can't help thinking of that scene in Ghostbusters when Dan Aykroyd says to Bill Murray,"Your girlfriend lives in the corner penthouse - of *** Central."
Personally, I liked the university. They gave us money and facilities, we didn't have to produce anything! You've never been out of college! You don't know what it's like out there! I've worked in the private sector. They expect results. - Dr Ray Stanz (Dan Aykroyd), to Bill Murray in Ghostbusters
Today, Dan Aykroyd says that Bill Murray is not involved with Ghostbusters 3
Who ya gonna call? That guy from Ghostbusters! No, not Bill Murray. Not Dan Aykroyd. No, not Harold Ramis...the other guy. Anyway..he's here in Birmingham today.
I loved them so much! Lorraine Neuman, John Belushi, Jane Curtin, Gilda Radner, Garret Morris, Dan Aykroyd, Chevy Chase...the Not Ready for Prime Time Players. I thought Bill Murray (my favorite) was one of the originals.
Or just call the Ghostbusters. I don't know about you, but I'd like to meet Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd. *shrugs*
Ghostbusters 2 on gold at 9pm !! Bring it on Bill Murray an Dan Aykroyd Legend's !!
It's been a nice 4 days off from work! I became a Great-Aunt to baby Ryan, saw my Hanky, met Dan Aykroyd, and spent time with my family! :) I am so thankful for everything in my life right now. The only thing I think that could top this is running into Bill Murray! LoL
Watching the Original Ghost Busters with my sweetie! Love this movie! Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd looks so young. Who you gonna call?!

[Dan Aykroyd and Bill Murray pissing in an alley.] "Don't cross the streams, Pete." "GodDAMMIT, Dan!"
conversation with Mikey One-Flip North well in like to meet Dan Aykroyd at the london lcbo. me: "look how dead the beer store is" mikey north: " Bill Murray's probably doing a singing there"
Saturday Night Live, although you are a re-run... I think, you really let me down. Seth Meyers, you are one of the worst head writers, you are your staff's $&is rarely funny. Way to make some mediocre comedians seem even less funny than normal. I say Lorne Michaels, she'll out the big bucks and do like survivor, or the apprentice, or whatever hip soon to jump the shark show does, pay the money to have every "all star" cast member (still alive) come back for one season. SNL allstar. Dana Carvey, Mike Meyers, Steve Martin, Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, David Spade, Chevy Chase, Will "For Real" Farrell... And so on, oh and for crap's sake get some new writers. Sorry I couldn't remember any of the still living memorable women of SNL at first. Cheri Oteri, Maya Rudolph, Molly Shannon maybe. I really kinda dislike Tina Fey. Any ideas feel free to comment. How amazing would an all star season be? I wonder how we could actually pitch this.
So Johnny Depp for Bill Murray or Dan Aykroyd. One of this Chris' and Johnny Galecki. THERE'S A GOOD CAST ALREADY
Johnny Depp would play Bill Murray's part. Chris Tucker/Rock would play that black guy and who would play Dan Aykroyd?
As some of you know I began getting severe daily headaches 2 years ago and have been on disability since April 2011. I was told by my doctors I had a rare type of spinal fluid leak and underwent 10 painful procedures and one operation (almost all in California) to fix the problem. Nothing worked. Now after extensive testing and imaging here in Las Vegas it appears that severely diseased disks in my neck are responsible. On Monday October 1st I will be having surgery here in Las Vegas to remove the diseased disks and fuse the vertebrae together. Hopefully I will finally be on the road to recovery. The surgery is not without risks. I wanted everyone to know that despite my chronic problems keeping in touch, friends and family really do mean a great deal to me. There's a classic line near the end of the movie Ghostbusters where Bill Murray says to Dan Aykroyd, "See you on the other side, Ray." I guess I will be "crossing the streams" on Monday. Love to all.
With cooler temperatures in October Movies and Music start again at 6PM across the street at North Straub Park!! October 4 American President (1994) starring Michael Douglas & Annette Benning. A romantic comedy that might make you believe in politics again! Music by local favorite Rebekah Pulley. October 11 The Big Sleep (1946) starring Humphrey Bogart & Lauren Bacall. The Oscar nominated cla ssic some think of as a mystery, others as a love story! Music by the John Kelly Band. October 18 The Legend of Bagger Vance (2000) with Will Smith and Matt Damon. It's a great story with goregous scenery! Music by local singer/songwritter Gale Trippsmith. October 25 Ghostbusters (1984) with Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd & Sigourney Weaver. You are sure to be laughing as you get in the Halloween spirit with this classic! Music by the Hot Rod Hornets
I take exception to that. I'm positive that the original are Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, Ernie Hudson.
Producing Ghostbusters 3 without Bill Murray would be like baking a cupcake and leaving off the frosting. That's sacrilege.
I am finally, finally, feeling semi-human again... My daughter too. I can't believe how bad that virus was. We are out of bed for the first time in... I lost count. I feel like having my house decontaminated. I'm picturing Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd showing up in their Ghostbuster costumes and spraying my whole house with some sort of anti-bacterial mist. as long as they don't cross the streams...
That was a great skit. This is the only time I thought Saturday Night Live was ever super funny is when Dan Aykroyd, John Belushi, Chevy Chase, Jane Curtin, Garrett Morris, Gilda Radner, Laraine Newman, Bill Murray, Father *** Sarducci aka Don Novello. Other versions were ok and had their funny moments but the Saturday Night Live that I mentioned all the names from were the best episodes.

I dreamed I had to keep reminding and Bill Murray that they are very cool. I then had Kenny Loggins write a song. 80's baby.
Saying "Ghostbusters 3" will be successful without Bill Murray, whats that? Dan Aykroyd said it? Oh Dan, just, just go
Hmm, don't know if it's my age, but there is something a little bit sexy about Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd in Ghostbusters... O.o
So the rumor is Bill Murray shredded the Ghostbusters 3 script, then telling Dan Aykroyd & Harold Ramis “No one wants to pay money to see fat, old men chasing ghosts!” Now I know the cast of the Expendables are not fat, but they are old, and people are paying money to see them chasing and shooting the bad guys... Just Saying Bill.
I miss the Chris Farley, John Belushi, Phil Hartman, Bill Murray, Eddie Murphy, Dan Aykroyd, Chevy Chase, Chris Rock, Dana Carvey, Adam Sandler, etc of the comedy world. No one these days can compare to the old SNL crew.
Has anyone considered Bruce Campbell for Murray's replacement for Ghostbusters 3? ... Hear me out; whether they should make this movie or not, GB3 will be made. Murray is out, so they have to replace him. Of course, someone with the same improvisational humor that Murray has is just plain impossible, but someone else has to fill that void. A comedic bad *** needs to do it. Other actors considered have been Paul Rudd (I like him), and younger SNL alumni, but the problem with casting an actor too young would be that the lack of chemistry he would have with the three remaining original Ghostbusters, who are in their 60s. Campbell is 54; not too old for running around, and not too young to not completely connect with Aykroyd, Ramis, and Hudson. He's funny, cartoonish, and has a fan base of his own. Maybe he could play Venkman's younger, louder, washed up brother. PLEASE, people, let's not have a sequel with another tween-idol goofing around in the void left by Bill Murray. We want a Ghostbusters movie that k ...

‘Ghostbusters 3′ To Shoot Next Year, But Without Bill Murray? In an interview with UK’s Metro, Dan Aykroyd revealed that plans for a third film are moving forward with a new writer and the support of the studio behind them. Aykroyd feels confident that production on Ghostbusters 3 will begin next year, but sadly without co-star Bill Murray. Murray was hesitant back in June when David Letterman brought up the topic of a third film, saying the script would have to be good for him to consider returning as Dr. Peter Venkman. Now, Aykroyd says Murray won’t be involved at all saying, “It’s sad but we’re passing it on to a new generation. Ghostbusters 3 can be a successful movie without Bill. My preference would be to have him involved but at this point he doesn’t seem to be coming and we have to move on. It’s time to make the third one.”

Ghostbusters 3 without Bill Murray? That would be like Caddyshack 2 without.oh wait. Listen Dan Aykroyd, I still love ya, but you already tainted the Blues Brothers with that horrifying sequel so just walk away from this and leave it alone.
Ghostbusters 3 seems to be having a more tortured existence than a ghost locked deep inside the 'busters Containment Unit. First, Dan Aykroyd said they had an excellent script, which Bill Murray promptly shredded. Sigourney Weaver said that a decent script may well exist, but if it does, she hadn't read it. Then Aykroyd announced that Bill was out. But then Bill said he might do it, if they rewrote the script. Then Dan hired the writer of Men In Black 3 to create a completely new draft. And now, finally, it looks like they've got a script that's worthy of shooting. Only trouble is, Bill's out again. "We've got a brilliant new writer [Etan Cohen] on it and we'll be passing the torch onto a [new] generation," Aykroyd said. "We're working on it to make it just right to satisfy our fans. I'm confident we'll be in production in the next year." "We've got the studio on side. We've tried a few concepts which weren't right but now we've got a good structure and will make it happen," he continued. Asked if Bill Mu ...

The Movies of 1984 Who ya gonna call for the top movie of 1984? Ghostbusters of course! The flick, starring Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd as ghost hunters, was the top grossing movie of '84. 1984 also gave us Eddie Murphy's hilarious detective Axel Foley, a Detroit cop who takes his investigation to California in Beverly Hills Cop, and Tom Hanks hilarious love affair with a mermaid in Splash. A couple of more sequels turned up in the top grossing movies of 1984. Harrison Ford was back for another adventure in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. Also back were the crew of the Enterprise in Star Trek III: The Search for Spock. In 1984, we learned not to let the Gremlins get wet and that painting a fence and waxing a car will turn you into The Karate Kid. Rounding out the top movies of 1984 was the Indiana Jones clone Romancing the Stone, the wacky group of cadets at the Police Academy, and the Kevin Bacon dance flick Footloose.

Ghostbusters 3 *** Up New Writers Aykroyd says the new script has to be perfect. by Max Nicholson July 3, 2012 It's been a long time coming, but Dan Aykroyd recently assured the masses that Ghostbusters 3 is still moving forward... slowly but surely. In this latest update from ABC News, Aykroyd has stated that the script has a "new writing staff working on it now," adding that "it’s got to be perfect. That’s the whole thing. There’s no point in doing it unless it’s perfect." His words sound strikingly familiar to what Bill Murray said of the film on David Letterman last month: "You just have to have a really good script, you know, it’s hard. I think, you know, we’ll try again." Aykroyd noted earlier this year that Murray would not be returning for a third Ghostbusters film. However, Murray has remained rather coy in recent months, so it's possible he's not entirely out of the running. Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky were the last names attached to the screenplay for Ghostbusters 3. While t ...
Looks like Dan Aykroyd heard Bill Murray loud and clear on Letterman. New writers have been hired to tackle the Ghostbusters 3 script! Both agree there is no point in doing it if it's not perfect. Sorry writers from "The Office". Murray doesn't think your funny lol.

If you thought the script issues for Men In Black III were bad, then you haven’t heard of the kinds of issues that the Ghostbusters 3 script is going through.
