"…When you hear about the richest people in the world, such as Carlos Slim, Bill Gates or Warren Buffett, you are not hearing the truth. …"
Where do the wealthiest 1% live By Shamim khan 25 January 2015 Magazine As the business and political elite met at the World Economic Forum in Davis this week, there was much talk of rising inequality, and many references to the "wealthiest 1%". The phrase conjures up images of billionaires living on private islands - but is that really who the 1% really are? A report by the charity Oxfam released to coincide with the Davos gathering caused a stir by predicting that the wealthiest 1% will soon own more than the rest of the world's population. It drew on research from the bank Credit Suisse , which estimated total global household wealth in 2014 at $263tn (£175tn). That's wealth, not income. It is calculated as assets minus debt. Obviously billionaires like Bill Gates, Warren Buffett and Mark Zuckerberg are part of the 1%. But who else is? According to Credit Suisse, another 47m people - everyone with wealth of $798,000 (£530,000) or more. That includes many people in rich countries who may not regard th ...

Food for thought... if you think that Warren Buffett, the Oracle of Omaha, is ridiculously rich, consider the wealth of King Solomon some 2,500 years ago. It is estimated that he received about 25 TONS of gold every year throughout his reign. At about $1,200 an ounce in today's value, King Solomon's wealth through gold makes the riches of people like Buffett and Bill Gates look like a welfare case.

Warren Buffett is successful for investing and building long-term businesses. Bill Gates is successful creating a software empire that has changed the way we use computers. Gandhi was successful for leading India into independence from the British. Success comes in many ways and forms. What’s interesting is that most successful people have very similar qualities. When I read lists such as this one, I want to see how I stack up against it. It feels good when I recognize qualities of success in myself. For the qualities that I don’t have, lists like these tell me what I need to work on. I have enjoyed and benefited much from these types of lists and that’s why I decided to organize all my research, observations and experience and compile this comprehensive list. If you want to achieve your life’s dream and be wildly successful, you need to model yourself after people who are living their dream. The more qualities you have in common, the higher your chances for being wildly successful. “Thoughts le ...

Warren Buffett once lent Bill Gates his fav biz book. Bill didn't return it. Rich dudes are hilarious. Link to story:
Bill Gates and Warren Buffett both said this is their favorite business book of all time:
Three of the world's wealthiest men have a message for Congress: Get your act together on Immigration Reform. "Americans deserve better than this," wrote Las Vegas Sands' Sheldon Adelson, Warren Buffett of Berkshire Hathaway, and former Microsoft chairman and Chief Executive, Bill Gates in an opinion piece in The New York Times. "American citizens are paying 535 people to take care of the legislative needs of the country. We are getting shortchanged," they wrote in the scathing op-ed. They said that although each of them has different political views, they could come together to write a piece of immigration legislation all could agree on. So why can't Congress do the same? They said that if Congress showed signs of cooperation, it would lift the national spirit and stimulate the economy. The business magnates also said it "bordered on insanity" to encourage foreign students to study in the U.S., and then "deport them when they graduate."

No Inventory, autoships, or having to sell something for a check.. We just save people money on bills they have to pay monthly, and we get paid every time they pay these bills.. It's that simple !! (USA ONLY) This is changing A LOT of lives for people who are serious about wanting to live life on their terms. Bill Gates and Warren Buffett even say this is the right industry to be involved with. We are in 34 Deregulated states with more on the way, plus with our new home automation system, we can save anyone in any of the 50 states 23 % on their energy costs. We are now a true 50 state energy business ! We are A rated with the BBB, and this IS the real deal with residual income that everyone dreams of !! ... I've really loved life here in the last 16 months as a CCM broker, and I will never go anywhere else thanks to CCM. There is NO comparison !! Nice! I remember attending a networking meeting of sorts, back when Bill Gates and Warren Buffett were encouraging the wealthiest people on the planet to donate a significant portion of their fortunes to philanthropic and charitable causes. The people at my meeting were outraged at the thought that these wealthy folks would give money to irresponsible commoners. "Come on, already - if they really deserved the money, they'd have earned it themselves." I wonder how many will think the same way of these generous, bigger-thinking hospital administrators and executives. I do sense a sea-change in the works, though...

Paul Graham is cool - "If you work your way down the Forbes 400 making an x next to the name of each person with an MBA, you'll learn something important about business school. After Warren Buffett, you don't hit another MBA till number 22, Phil Knight, the CEO of Nike. There are only 5 MBAs in the top 50. What you notice in the Forbes 400 are a lot of people with technical backgrounds. Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Larry Ellison, Michael Dell, Jeff Bezos, Gordon Moore. The rulers of the technology business tend to come from technology, not business. So if you want to invest two years in something that will help you succeed in business, the evidence suggests you'd do better to learn how to hack than get an MBA."

Ferial Haffejee reveals that Helen Zille has read Piketty.impressed.Daryl WDYSTT? 'Periods of substantial growth were largely jobless here. “There’s never been reduction of poverty without the growth of capital,” she says, a point that leads us to a dissection of Thomas Piketty’s book Capital in the Twenty-First Century, which Zille has read closely. I’m not sure when she’s had time to read because the book is long and new. But Zille’s work ethic is legendary. Piketty argues the superwealthy have consolidated gains to make global inequality endemic. The author makes numerous suggestions to close the gap, all of which Zille supports. These include limiting generational inheritance like Warren Buffett and Bill Gates have done to donate more wealth, and also bringing down income differentials. “Jobs are [always] a by-product of investment, says Zille. But does our corporate sector understand the need to be more labour intensive? “Part of our business sector does understand that it is their ...

He's back. Helped by a bounce in Microsoft shares, Bill Gates returns to the top of our annual Billionaires list this year amid a leadership shakeup at the software giant he founded. He's been the richest man in the world for 15 out of the last 20 years. After years focused on his philanthropy, Gates plans to spend more of his time working with product managers at Microsoft as rivals like Google and Apple continue to outshine the company in the market. Gates stepped down as Microsoft chairman in February, when new CEO Satya Nadella took over. Meanwhile, Gates remains focused on his foundation's efforts to eradicate polio (he secured $335 million in pledges to the cause from six billionaire comrades, including $100 million each from Mexico's Carlos Slim and former New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg) and getting fellow billionaires more involved with philanthropy. He and Warren Buffett have thus far convinced over 100 of the super rich to sign on to the Giving Pledge, a promise to donate at least half one's ...
Seven of the 10 richest counties in the country voted for Barack Obama in 2012. Democrats represent eight of the ten richest congressional districts in the country. Congressional Democrats have a higher median Net Worth than congressional Republicans. The top 20 entries in the Forbes list of the 400 wealthiest Americans include conservative bogeymen such as Charles and David Koch (tied at number 4) and Sheldon Adelson (number 11). But these men are overwhelmed by Democratic fundraisers such as Warren Buffett (number 2), Michael Bloomberg (number 10), Jeff Bezos (number 12), Larry Page (number 13), Sergey Brin (number 14), and George Soros (number 19), as well as by billionaires who have donated more evenly between parties, such as Bill Gates (number 1) and Larry Ellison (number 3). Eight of the 10 largest private foundations are liberal.
There can't be a definite scale for success. How successful was Leo Tolstoy to Bill Gates? Or Warren Buffett to Karl Marx? How successful is Christiano Ronaldo to Einstein? Or Andrei Linde to Napoleon Bonaparte? One's choices cannot be judged during their nascent phases, because these could come up to be a burgeoning success even on the personal scale.
Why everyone is watching that garbage RHOA. Keep feeding your mind with that. My reality shows are Warren Buffett, Bill Gates and Learning to build an empire.
MILLIONAIRE MIND ACTIONS 1. Go to the library, a bookstore, or the Internet and read a biography of someone who is or was extremely rich and successful. Andrew Carnegie, John D. Rockefeller, Mary Kay, Donald Trump, Warren Buffett, Jack Welch, Bill Gates, and Ted Turner are some good examples. Use their story for inspiration, for learning specific success strategies, and most importantly, for copying their mind-set. 2. Join a high-end club, such as for tennis, health, business, or golf. Mingle with rich people in a rich environment. Or, if there’s no way you can afford to join a high-end club, have coffee or tea in the classiest hotel in your city. Get comfortable in this atmosphere and watch the patrons, noticing they’re no different from you. 3. Identify a situation or a person who is a downer in your life. Remove yourself from that situation or association. If it’s family, choose to be around them less. 4. Stop watching trash TV and stay away from bad news.

WEALTH SERVES NO PURPOSE, UNLESS MAN SHARES IT WITH THE PEOPLE - On wealth and philanthropy It pleases me to read that philanthropy among the wealthiest and a sort of silent 'competition' on whether who gives the most is becoming a trend. Warren Buffett, the richest man on earth ($58,5 billion US) has sworn to give away 99% of his fortune to philanthropic causes. Together with Bill Gates he created the campaign 'The Giving Pledge' in 2010 that encourages the wealthiest people in the world to make a commitment to give most of their wealth to philanthropic causes. As of 2014 more than 122 billionaires or former billionaire individuals and couples have signed the pledge. These includes Sir. Richard Branson, Michael Bloomberg and Mark Zuckerberg. Ready for a rags-to-riches tale? Back in the other half of the 19th century, two young men grew up in great poverty and despair in America. But they had ambition and they were smart. Efficiently, while still in the beginning of their 30's they became the richest men ...

What if I knew who could get you in?

When I first read Atlas Shrugged, I identified with Dagny in her attempt to save society from itself. The older I get (and perhaps wiser, but so far that's debatable), the more I am beginning to believe Dagny was wasting her energies. Seriously. Life is short. And time is the only thing we can't get more of. Doesn't matter if you're Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, or those evil Koch brothers, your money can't buy you more time. Just ask Steve Jobs. There is incompetence and stupidity all around us. I don't have time for that; it drives me crazy. You CAN choose to ignore it and think positive, be an optimist, etc, but sooner or later you reach an emotional tipping point where you begin to understand that we no longer live in a republic; we live in a democracy. I have only one vote. And that one vote is not enough to protect my wallet, or my sanity. I've discovered that you can ignore stupid people. You can choose your friends. You can choose who you surround yourself with. You can choose your social circles. Y ...

Brazil has a flair for self-promotion. It won the right to host both this year’s football World Cup and the 2016 Olympics, which reflected mounting confidence that this South American wunderkind was on the cusp of great things. In 2010 Brazil’s economy grew by an impressive 7.5%, its fastest pace in a quarter of a century. Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, president at the time, urged investors to place their bets on Brazil, promising them that the nation was the entering a golden age of prosperity. After discovering vast new oil fields in 2007, state energy company Petrobras meanwhile claimed that it would soon surpass Exxon Mobil as the world’s top publicly traded crude producer. The country even had a viable candidate to become the world’s richest man, tycoon Eike Batista. With a Net Worth of $34bn, he boasted that by 2015 he would overtake the likes of Bill Gates, Warren Buffett and Carlos Slim. But those who believed the hype have been severely disappointed. Economic growth has lagged far behind ot ...
MUST READ FELLAS! What are the daily habits of billionaires? MANILA, Philippines – The world’s richest and most successful people also get 24 hours a day, but what do they do in those hours that define their success? ANC’s financial advisor Salve Duplito said the world’s richest man, Microsoft’s Bill Gates, uses most of his hours reading the Wall St. Journal, New York Times and the Economist. The 58-year-old Gates also reads at least 100 emails per day. His Net Worth is estimated at $76 billion, according to Forbes. Carlos Slim, the second richest man in the world, wakes up early every day to drive himself to work. The Mexican business magnate also personally makes daily phone calls to his associates. His Net Worth is valued at $72 billion. Zara’s Amancio Ortega, meanwhile, goes to the same coffee shop everyday, wears simple clothes, and eats lunch with his employees in the company canteen. Like Slim, American Billionaire Warren Buffett also drives himself to work everyday, and at 83 years old ...
David Weigel reports that Democrats are finding the Koch brothers an effective fundraising tool — emails that bash the Kochs raise three times as much as emails that don’t. And you can see why: the Kochs are perfect villains. It’s not just what they are — serious evildoers who use their wealth to push hard-line right-wing, anti-environmental policies that redound very much to their own benefit. It’s also what they aren’t: they’re wealthy heirs, not self-made men, they aren’t identified with innovation (which you can at least argue for Bill Gates), they haven’t made money for other people like Warren Buffett. So focusing on the Kochs is a way to personalize a vision of conservative politics as a defense of people with unearned privilege.
Looking at this I can't help but think of Warren Buffett and Bill Gates comments about their willingness to pay more taxes. If they wanted to help the less fortunate, couldn't they get it to those who need it faster by just giving their money to the less fortunate directly instead of putting it into a pool mired by bureaucracy, corruption, and polarization?

one wonders why the conservative Koch hate the current WH so much. They need to take a cue from Bill Gates and Warren Buffett and use their wealth to fund education and better health throughout the world
Silver: A Better Bet Than Gold Everyone likes gold... But we love silver. Throughout history, the world has lusted after gold. But there's a reason men like Bill Gross, Warren Buffett, George Soros, and Bill Gates have put a lot of their money into gold's less glamorous cousin, silver... Silver is an absurdly under-appreciated contrarian play with the potential for a meteoric rise that will make gold's gains pale in comparison. This will continue for a number of reasons, including historic ratios, long-term trends, and industrial demand that outstrips supply. One signal in particular – which we'll discuss in detail in our report – indicates prices should be far higher than what we're seeing today. In fact, $100 isn't out of the question, and we'll tell you why. Silver is not just a way to store wealth. It's an incredible commodity play with unparalleled fundamentals.
Considering that Iron Man and Batman’s only real superpower is being super rich, Bill Gates and Warren Buffett turned out to be real disappointments.
All my friends are "Pennies From Heaven" and if you were to add them all up, Warren Buffett and Bill Gates would be jealous of me and my riches. I thank God for all of them.
I guess Bill Gates & Warren Buffett doesn't like my ideal. How odd.

We also used the most recent price for an ounce of gold which is roughly $1330 as of October 10, 2013. In addition to some familiar modern names like Bill Gates and Warren Buffett, our list features older magnates like Vanderbilt and Carnegie. We also included lesser known billionaires from history that you may have never even heard of before. We guarantee the person on this list will make your jaw drop. There is a new wealthy like Warren Buffett and Bill Gates. They get it. If anything, taxes for the lower and middle class and maybe even the upper middle class should even probably be cut further. But I think that people at the high end - people like myself - should be paying a lot more in taxes. We have it better than we've ever had it. Warren Buffett

The United States has, by far, the largest number of UHNW people. Most of the wealth is concentrated in the first generation and family controlled, said David Friedman, Wealth-X’s New York-based co-founder and president. These include entrepreneurs, such as Bill Gates and Warren Buffett, who have built companies from scratch and are reaping the most rewards. Overall, technology and financial services, and especially hedge funds, have driven much of the country’s riches, said Friedman, but the country’s wealth drivers do vary depending on location. For instance, the wealthiest Texans struck it rich with oil and gas, while moneyed Californians scored big in media and entertainment. There’s little doubt that America’s UHNW population will continue to grow, said Wilson, in part because of its diverse economy and its ability to attract some of the world’s brightest and most ambitious minds. “The ability to bring strong intellectual capital from around the world into the US is a key factor in the ...
Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman, one of Mexico's most poweful drug lords You'll no doubt recognize the names of Bill Gates, Warren Buffett and Oprah when scanning Forbes' latest list of "The World's Billionaires." But amid the various business tycoons, A-list celebs and royal heirs on the annual roll call is someone known mainly by members of Mexico's seedy underground and the police officers who chase them: Joaquin "El Chapo" (Shorty) Guzman Loera. (Read "Mexico Exports its Drug Wars to Guatemala.") The 54-year-old, 5'6'' drug lord is considered the country's most wanted criminal. And because his Sinaloa cartel traffics billions of dollars' worth of cocaine to the U.S. each year, American authorities are no less interested in bringing him down. The U.S. government is offering a $5 million reward for his capture — a rather meager amount given that Guzman's estimated Net Worth is $1 billion, putting him at on the Forbes list, between a Swiss oil tycoon and an American heir to the Campbell Soup fortune. And unl ...
Members of Congress, Our beloved President, Bill Gates, Warren Buffett and all the other multi multi multi millionaires out there... nobody is asking for free anything, just work towards developing better jobs and more productive jobs in this country so people of all ages, races and nationalities can support themselves without the little handout from the government or begging for food on the street or living in cardboard boxes on the street. the more you invest in America the more people will be available to develop and share ideas to help overseas as well... but if you continue in your ways America will become even a poorer nation than any country in Africa or Southeast Asia. Is this too much to ask??
Bill Gates fesses up on Reddit to his one 'expensive guilty pleasure purchase' Microsoft's co-founder dishes on everything from a global condom competition to Bitcoin to his advice for aspiring Computer Science students. "Hello Reddit - I'm Bill Gates, co-chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and Microsoft founder. Ask me anything." And so they did. Fresh from helping to choose the next CEO to run the company he co-founded nearly four decades ago, Gates descended from the mountaintop to mix it up with the new media masses with his second Reddit appearance in the last year. Even before the festivities officially got underway, Gates posted a video where he answered a question ahead of time by someone left on the Reddit board asking whether he would pick up a $100 bill if he saw the money lying on the ground. "Well, all my thoughts about money were formed at a time when $100 really was a substantial amount of money...if it's lying there and maybe it belongs to somebody and you ought to find it for the ...

New York - The richest 400 Americans are significantly richer in 2013 than they were last year and younger Americans are accumulating wealth at a faster clip than their baby boomer counterparts, according to two reports released Monday. The annual Forbes 400 wealthiest Americans list showed that total wealth climbed 19 percent in the last year to $2.02 trillion, up from $1.7 trillion, with an average Net Worth per individual of $5 billion, up from $ 4.2 billion in 2012. It now takes $1.3 billion in assets just to get on the list. (See the full list at forbes.com). Atop the list for another year was Bill Gates, who at 57 has a Net Worth of $72 billion. He was followed by Warren Buffett, who despite giving away about $1 billion last year, was the biggest gainer, adding $12.5 billion to bring his fortune to $58.5 billion. The average age was 66, according to Forbes senior editor Kerry Dolan. Only 32 of those selected were 48 or younger, fitting them into Generation X or Generation Y, while the rest of the li ...

William Easterly is a professor of economics at New York University and author of the upcoming book, "The Tyranny of Experts." Hobbs' History Lesson (Mansa Musa: Wealthiest Man of All Time) In 2012, the Huffington Post posted an article analyzing the findings of Celebrity Networth.Com that asked readers who was the wealthiest person in history. For some readers, I am sure that their gut instincts based upon past history classes or current popular media may be to conclude that it was King Croesus of Lydia, or in more recent history, one of the Robber Barons like the Vanderbilts, Carnegies, Rockefellers and the Astors. Others may point to more recent wealth and conclude that it must be Bill Gates or Warren Buffett. Well, if you said Mansa Musa I, you would be right. Musa I was the grandson of Abu Bakr, who was the brother to Sundiata Keita, the founder of the Mali Empire in Western Africa. Mali was the second of three powerful Empires in the region with the first being Ghana and the last being Songhai, that flourished into the 15th Century BC. Musa, born in 1280 AD, grew up in a period in which Mali was dominated by Islam, though a ...

If you think God is blessing you for things you do good, right, and wonderful, then apparently you know nothing about Him. Notice the middle to later part of verse 45, "for He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous." Sun and rain are needed and are good Also see Luke 18:9-14 of the Pharisee and the tax collector. The Pharisee was blessed with the abilitybto tithe and appears to have abundance. Also see luke 12:16-21 of the Rich fool. He was overflowed with blessings. So many places we can go throughout the scrips to show that God blessed those with material things regardless of what they did for Him. Did you know Bill Gates, and Warren Buffett are Agnostics? When I teach people how to make lots of money during my Wealth Academy Programmes, some people tell me that they are afraid that having money will change them. They have seen their friends who get rich become more arrogant, selfish etc... From my personal experience of becoming a millionaire at the age of 26 and hanging around very rich people, I discovered that money does not change people. Having money REVEALS who you really are and magnifies your inner person. For example, if deep inside you are a mean and selfish person, having money will make you EVEN MORE mean and selfish. However, if you are truly a caring and loving person within, having money will allow you to become even kinder and more generous. For example, the richer than Bill Gates and Warren Buffett became, the more generous and spiritual they became--- giving away billions of dollars to help mankind. So. Do not become rich UNTIL you first become a good person inside.
In the article some are named: Carlos Slim Helu, Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, Larry Page ... Or just read the report :)

Can't identify a Megatrend opportunity? Never heard of ageLOC? Let them tell you what it is... 1. Bill Gates, world's richest man, said the next wealth is in gene tech, not in financial or property platform. (ageLOC is all about anti-aging at genetic level) 2. Warren Buffett, picked Nuskin's stock as number 1 pick in 2013. (Nuskin's stock increased frm USD8 to USD138 in just 4 yrs because of ageLOC) 3. Discovery Channel interviewed Nuskin's scientists coz of a revolutionary ageLOC technology. Not only we have the research, but also products that can change mankind. 4. Google (the biggest search engine) and Apple (leader of innovation in computers and cellphones), both have nothing to do with anti-aging, joined hands to go into anti-aging industry. (Why? If it's not because of a promising opportunity ahead) 5. Millionaires in their previous platforms, Mr Chen Ke Jing (sole dealer of Nike and Adidas in China) and Ms Qiao Ke (one of the shareholders of Chow Tai Fook Jewellery with lots of branches in HKG and ...

Mission One: Charity begins at home… When you don’t have philanthropists such as Bill Gates, Warren Buffett or Oprah Winfrey on your Speed Dial, when your credit rating is below par and you’re working not to thrive but to simply survive, this is what you resort to—an internet call for help. For the record, this is not a public charity organization. I’m just an average Joe trying to make ends meet in difficult times and I’m hoping there are at least a few generous souls out there in the internet universe willing to help a guy who’s a little down but not out. I have established a PayPal account and a website (to facilitate donations. No donation is too small. Small donations can make a big difference and big donations can change one’s life. My story is no different from thousands, millions, perhaps, billions of others who inhabit this rock we call Earth. I’ve had a few breaks in life. I’ve also had a few setbacks. But every day I pick myself up, I dust myself off and I keep movin ...
Billionaires who made the biggest financial gains in 2013: . 1. Warren Buffett. 2. Bill Gates. 3. Sheldon Adelson.
I think that Warren Buffett, Bill Gates and the Pope need to have a boys night out.
How'd Richard Branson, Bill Gates, and Warren Buffett do so well? They lived according to these seven principles:
The other night I listened to an episode of the CBS Radio Theater about a rich person that went to the Pearly Gates and was asked what acts of kindness he did for his fellow human. He answered that he gave millions to charity and set up a few charities of his own to help others. St. Peter asked him, "but did you do this out of the goodness of your heart." and the man answered, "No, I did it to help grow my business and to get as much publicity as possible for the money I invested in the charities." It would seem like people like Bill Gates, Richard Branson, Carlos Slim, Amancio Ortega, Warren Buffett, Larry Ellison, Charles Koch, David Koch, Christy Walton,Jim Walton and so on do not do anything to support charities unless they and their respective companies can get massive gains out of their public donations. What will their answers be when they stand at the Pearly Gates one day? Makes you think.
To all those people who are already wealthy or working towards being wealthy, honestly you must never feel bad or guilty for being wealthy, because the wealthiest people in the world don't care what you think about them-Patrice Motsepe,Oprah Winfrey,Bill Gates,Warren Buffett,Sol Kerzner,Donald Trump,Jay-Z and all the billionaires out there-these people don't care what anybody thinks of them and they just keep getting better and better. If they don't care, why should you?

Before we can solve all the hacker issue, I don't think we can be relax. I believe Warren Buffett knew something. In the past year, seven philanthropists gave north of $200 million and nine gave more than $100 million to causes ranging from wilderness preservation to fighting malaria. Warren Buffett and Bill Gates remain far and away the biggest givers overall, but two of 12 newcomers to the list pledged to give more than $1 billion away: William Barron Hilton, co-chairman of the Hilton hotel chain who pledged late last year to give away 97% of his wealth -- some $1.7 billion -- to his family's humanitarian foundation and Peter G. Gamechangers such as Warren Buffett and Bill Gates lead the way in demonstrating how reinvesting great wealth for change really does create a better, fairer world!
Conservative Republicans They claim to be fiscally conservative and claim to be careful with our tax dollars. What they actually did: They did not want to be punished politically by raising taxes to pay for two wars so, they ran up the debt and refused to put a war tax in place. They just kept passing emergency spending as the wars went along. They say they are very concerned about the debt but they will only cut Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid to reduce the debt. They refuse to end the corporate tax loopholes or ask for a dime of revenue from the very rich even though the very rich are literally asking them to raise tax revenue on the rich. Bill Gates senior, junior, Barbara Streisand, Warren Buffett a just a few rich people asking to have their taxes raised. Raising it only on 1% of the richest Americans would be responsible if they wanted to reduce the debt. They cost America billions once again last year during the first debt ceiling. They created a crisis saying they would not pay our d ...
WHY DOES SWEDEN HAVE SO MANY BILLIONAIRES? High taxes and a generous welfare state are no barrier to Nordic riches. America is a land of billionaires, boasting five of the 10 richest people on the planet as of the most recent Forbes 500 list. Then again, America is a large country, and in per capita terms, they lag behind several smaller states. Many of these—like world leader Monaco (No. 1 per capita, with three billionaires in a population of 35,427)—are true micro-nations, or else they’re St. Kitts and Nevis (No. 2, one billionaire, population 53,051): more of a vacation destination for the rich and less a place where people actually go to earn a fortune. But one country stands out on the list: Sweden (No. 12, 14 billionaires, population 9.56 million). No single Swede comes close to the epic wealth of a Bill Gates or a Warren Buffett. But Stefan Persson, the chairman, main shareholder, and former longtime CEO of H&M, leads a roster of Swedish billionaires who outpace the U.S. (No. 14) on a per ca ...
i'm experimenting with the idea that a meme is a thought in the evolving hybrid gaic intelligence of which the internet is the most obvious processing centre. In that vein, here's my fantasy: Pope Francis and the Dali Llama meet, become friends and decide to hold a special conference for those with money, power, ideas and social intention with the specific goal of figuring out how the world can end or greatly decrease suffering (think Elon Musk, Bill Gates, Ted Turner, Warren Buffett and the Sergei Brin and Larry Page). Please share if you'd like to see this.
For the price Jesus paid on the cross, Donald Trump, Warren Buffett, Bill Gates, and the Roth Child, could not cash that.
A Simple Reform Could Save America From Wall Street and Boost the Economy: What’s Washington Waiting For? Financiers have been getting a free ride for too long. Let's make them pay their share instead of robbing seniors. AlterNet / By Lynn Stuart Parramore 58 COMMENTS It’s a simple tweak that would reign in an out-of-control financial sector, stimulate jobs, generate billions of revenue, and possibly prevent another heart-wrenching crisis. Nobel Prize-winning economists like Joseph Stiglitz and Paul Krugman want it. Billionaires like Warren Buffett and Bill Gates want it. Polls show the majority of Americans want it. Even the Pope wants it. We’re talking about a financial transaction tax (FTT) — a tiny tax of, say, less than half a percent: maybe 3 cents per $100 — on Wall Street trading. It’s simple, more than fair, widely supported by the public, and long overdue. Over the last weeks, Americans have been kept from going to work and the fragile economy has been strained as members of Congre . ...

It was 1980, and Brown Welding Supply LLC, his family’s third-generation distributor of hydrogen and oxygen tanks, was battling competitors that were intent on expanding into the corner of Kansas he controlled. “It was a profitable business, but companies took their money and bought more trucks,” Horejsi, 75, said in a telephone interview from his home in Paradise Valley, Arizona. “The competition just grew.” Frustrated, Horejsi bought 40 shares of Berkshire Hathaway Inc. (BRK/A) for $265 each with the company’s cash after friends told him about Warren Buffett, the company’s then-little known chairman. He bought another 60 shares two weeks later at $295 and 200 more at $330 a month after that. Today, he’s a billionaire. The 4,300 Class A shares of the Omaha, Nebraska-based conglomerate Horejsi says he holds is bigger than the stake controlled by Bill Gates, 57, the world’s richest person and Buffett’s bridge partner. His stake was valued at $ ...

Today's Pacific Business News has an editorial about Lana'i: Hawaii deserves clearer vision for Lanai Larry Ellison appears to be on the right track, but details are fuzzy Staff Pacific Business News, July 5 Larry Ellison didn’t buy just an island a year ago. He bought a community. That is what has made his purchase of Lanai so intriguing. This is no Fantasy Island, a playground for the rich and famous who value seclusion and have the means to pay for it. The Pineapple Isle is a community of approximately 3,100 mostly long-time residents with a rich cultural tradition. Ellison no doubt recognizes this. The founder of Oracle Corp. did not become the nation’s third-richest person by making bad business decisions. Forbes magazine estimates his financial worth at $41 billion, behind only Bill Gates at $66 billion and Warren Buffett at $46 billion. His purchase of Lanai, reported at $300 million, cost him less than 1 percent of his Net Worth. He also got a good deal. Former owner David Murdock reportedly w ...

What an incredible life story of a guy who has inspired Bill Gates and Warren Buffett ..and nearly went unnoticed !
Lesson The Council on Foreign Relations [CFR] How many of you even know what this is? This think tank/secret organization was started in 1921. It was made up of 200 of the top businessmen/bankers/politicians of its time. Now, there are over 4000 members! These are people who will get together to discuss the relevant topics in their area of expertise! What is so wrong about this you ask? Well, considering 50% to 80% of the upper US government is made up of CFR members, I say it is very important. Basically you have an exclusive club where Warren Buffett, Bill Clinton, Bill Gates, the top execs at CNN, GM, ATT, etc will get together and talk policy. Oh, no notes are taken for public consumption because they want these people to be able to speak freely. I can tell you this, they are not talking about the Pacers and Heat! Ever since FDR, the cabinets of our presidents are a who's who of the CFR. Ever since Ike, most presidential prospects have been CFR people! Still think there is a difference betw ...
Bill Gates, the world's most generous person, says that as long as he helps eradicate deadly diseases like polio and malaria, he doesn't care if he's forgotten after his death. Not that there's any chance of that: Gates has already given more than $28 billion, but said in his fifth annual letter for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation that the total amount invested is less important than precise measures of impact, like child mortality rates. Gates has been spreading his gospel to other billionaires near and far: he and good friend Warren Buffett recently added 12 non-Americans to their Giving Pledge, including the U.K.'s Richard Branson and India's Azim Premji, bumping the total to 105 high Net Worth individuals. He also partnered with Carlos Slim to build a new $25 million agricultural research center in Mexico. Gates' Net Worth increased $6 billion to $67 billion in the past year - with no help from the company he cofounded, Microsoft, in which he still has a 5% stock. Most of his fortune these days is ...
hmmm. How would it work if Bill Gates, the Koch family, Warren Buffett, Walton family et al gave 10%, & corporations did too?
Warren Buffett, and Bill Gates have given away billions to help those in need. Satan's agents the Koch brothers have used their money to suppress unions, and get more tax breaks for themselves. Of course the right wing dingers living in the Fox Bubble don't have a clue.
Bill Gates regained the title from Mexican investor Carlos Slim to be No. 1 on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index!!! Mabrouk Akhuyy :D mwafaq huh
The return of Bill Gates to the top spot in a list of the world’s wealthiest people comes after a strong resurgence in Microsoft shares. The tech giant is putting in a strong financial performance despite appearing to be losing its grip on some core markets.
Bill Gates regains his position on the top, as the worlds richest man! Warren Buffett sits closely at the third position.
Billionaire Spanx Founder, Sara Blakely first woman to join Warren Buffett and Bill Gates' Giving Pledge
Why is Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, Oprah, Dan Gilbert, and Jeb Bush all meeting in Kiawah, SC? Gates Foundation?
The likes of Bill Gates and his buddy Warren Buffett are supporting the destruction of commerce with taxing the "rich" to support a corrupt system that is doomed to fail. It is easy for them to say "yes tax the rich" even more when you are talking about income, since they themselves have very little actual "income." How would they respond to the confiscation of assets? Why do they not donate everything they have keeping just enough for a middle class lifestyle and give it all to government? They would never be where they are today had taxes been much higher when they were trying to get started. The assumption is that government is being properly run and the problem is always the individual. They have theirs so the *** with everyone else. Turn it all in if you want to advocate such fiscal-irresponsibility. Neither has to worry about Social Security and how that has been taking more in taxes from people than income tax with no refunds. What is the end game? They obviously are ignorant of history for this c ...
Nine more wealthy families and individuals have pledged to give at least half of their fortunes to charity as part of a philanthropic campaign by two of the world's richest men, Warren Buffett and Bill Gates.
Sara Blakely made history in 2012, becoming the youngest self-made woman to join Forbes' Billionaire's List. Now, she scores another "first": she's joined Bill Gates and Warren Buffett's Giving Pledge as the first female billionaire to pledge half her wealth to charity.
Straight ignorance. Intelligent people understand that money is a tool, which is why you wont see Warren Buffett, Bill Gates or Oprah Winfrey posing in front of cash. Flashing money or throwing it in the air makes as much sense as flashing a bag of hammers or throwing knives in the air. You wanna impress folks how about standing in front of school you built or a housing development for lower and middle income families, creating a retirement community for boxers. Cuz standing in front of money is about as impressive as standing in front of a urinal pissin' with your pants still zipped (lol) —Ádìsá
You don't have to be a billionaire like Bill Gates or Warren Buffett or Carlos (Slim) Helu to be a Philanthropist.
