Apparently I missed a great speech from Bill Clinton las night . I heard he said a lot of good things about President Obama and thats great. However, in 2008 when he was campaigning for his wife he had a different opinion. Of course, Day 2 of the DNC belonged to Bill Clinton, but his warm-up by Elizabeth Warren (now running for Massachusetts' Senate seat previously occupied by Ted Kennedy) certainly identified many principles important to Democrats. Especially effective were her condemnation of the GOP-backed system rigged by Citizens United to favor corporations and her expression of suppport for the one favored by Democrats. Though I staunchly support the separation of church and state, I can't condemn Warren (a Methodist) for citing Matthew 25:40 ("Verily, I say unto you, inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.") since, perhaps more than any other passage from the Bible, it conveys the perspective of Democrats, regardless of their diverse religious (or non-religious) backgrounds.
