SWEDISH teenager David Moberg Karlsson is determined to make his mark on Sunderland's first team this season. Karlsson is one of four summer signings to have started pre-season training at the Academy of Light on Wednesday, and the number could have increased further by the time the Black Cats squad travels to Italy for a training camp on Sunday. As well as agreeing deals for French youngsters El-Hadji Ba and Benjamin Mendy, Sunderland officials have also agreed a £2.5m fee with Greek side Panathinaikos for 19-year-old winger Charas Mavrias. Mavrias, an established under-21 international who has won two senior caps with Greece, is expected to conduct personal talks within the next 48 hours and could link up with his new team-mates during their Italian trip. Sunderland's players are due to spend more than a week in Italy, and will play at least one behind-closed-doors game against local opposition.
