an adventist campaigning for US presidential elections WASHINGTON, Nov. 7 (UPI) -- Ben Carson is officially a Republican again, and he's unofficially running for president. The conservative physician switched his political affiliation back from independent to the GOP on Election Day, and made no effort to hide the reason why. "It's truly a pragmatic move because I have to run in one party or another. If you run as an independent, you only risk splitting the electorate," Carson told The Washington Times Tuesday, after making the change. "I clearly would not be welcome in the Democratic Party, and so that only leaves one party. Fortunately, the fit is pretty good." Carson, the Johns Hopkins surgeon known for his work separating conjoined twins, made waves at the 2013 National Prayer Breakfast with a speech criticizing President Obama while the president sat just feet away. He grew up a Democrat, but was inspired by President Reagan to join the Republican Party. By the time the GOP Congress impeached Preside ...

With signs in the hall saying “Carson 2016” and “Run Ben, Run,” Dr. Ben Carson doubled down on some of his most controversial statements in a speech Saturday at the Conservative Political Action Conference in National Harbor, Maryland. Going on the attack early over what he labeled "political correctness" attacks on him by the media, Carson drew cheers from the crowd when he said, “I hate PC, and I will continue to defy the PC police who have tried in many cases to shut me up.” Referring to a statement he made comparing same sex marriage to bestiality, Carson said, “I still believe marriage is between a man and woman.” The statement to which he referred Saturday was made in March on Fox News where Carson is now employed. In an interview with Sean Hannity, the former Johns Hopkins surgeon said, "Marriage is between a man and a woman. No group, be they *** be they NAMBLA, be they people who believe in bestiality, it doesn't matter what they are. They don't get to change the definition." Th . ...

Ben Carson fires at liberal media out ‘to destroy anybody who is telling the truth’ February 24, 2014 by Tom Tillison 122 Comments Trump-CarsonOutspoken conservative Dr. Ben Carson joined alongside keynote speaker U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, to give attendees their money’s worth Sunday at the Palm Beach County Republican Party’s Lincoln Day Dinner. Urging those gathered at Donald Trump’s lavish Mar-a-Lago mansion to “pick up the mantle of courage,” the retired Johns Hopkins neurosurgeon stood firm on recent remarks he made that had the “PC police” on the left in an uproar. Garbage collector’s patriotic gesture brings resident to tears Earlier this month, Carson said people with values must stand up, pointing out that most people in Nazi Germany did not believe in what Hitler was doing but never spoke up. “This is what they do,” he said. “And this is why we have to have an educated populace so you can learn for yourself what’s going on, not be spoon-fed by a bunch of people in ...
Dr. Ben Carson, a Pediatric Neurosurgeon at Johns Hopkins, spoke at the National Prayer Breakfast in February 2013. Recently, President Obama gave a stunning speech about religious freedom and liberties. Why was his speech stunning? Because Hobby Lobby is taking him to the Supreme Court over Religious liberties and freedom as is the Catholic Church. People in the audience called the experience surrealistic and stunning, in light of his policies. Anyway, Dr. Ben Carson was INVITED to speak in 2013 at this same breakfast, and he delivered a "principled rebuttal of President Barack Obama's policies". Dr. Carson is a black man raised in abject poverty who became a learned man of science and healing. He ended his speech concluding, "We live in a Gestapo age". Since that day he, his family, friends, and associates have been besieged by the IRS. When they find nothing for the last two years, they go back to the last four, and so forth. This happened February 2013. He was not invited back this year. We must all p ...
I highly recommend the movie "Gifted Hands-The Story of Ben Carson" that we just watched on Netflix. It's a very inspiring and dynamic true story of a disadvantaged boy who was failing in elementary school. The film shows the influence a strong mother can have on encouraging her child to become the best he can be through education. Dr. Carson became a world-famous pediatric neurosurgeon at Johns Hopkins Hospital. The film is adapted from the book.

19 years ago today Steve and I kissed our beautiful baby boy on the forehead as they took him down the hall to the operating room at Johns Hopkins for his Hemispherectomy surgery. We were unsure that day if we would ever see him again and if he did survive what would be facing us ahead for recovery and his life. That was the best and worst day of our lives but we are happy to say Dylan is 21 years old and doing great. Dylan has had his difficulties but he has never let his disability stop him from what he wants to do. He has played many sports including Football, graduated High School, went off to a year in College, became an Eagle Scout and earned his driver’s license. I would like to Thank Dr. Ben Carson, Diana Pilas, Dr. John Freeman, Dr. Vining, our friends and family. Without all of you and many more people in Dylan’s life he would not be the man he is today and words can’t express our deepest appreciation for everything.
I remember the day I met Dr Carson at Johns Hopkins. Ten years ago my daughter Leah was diagnosed at Fairfax Hospital with Hydrocephalus. We were admitted right from the ER and I started doing research as soon as we settled into the room. ... I found the Hydrocephalus Foundation in SFO and called to ask for information. They gave me the top ten Surgeons in the world, Ben Carson was on that list, and local. The day/night went by and we hadn't seen or heard from a doctor so I called Bethesda Naval Hospital who referred us to Walter Reed. We checked out and off we went. Arrived at the ER and Leah was on surgery within minutes. While here I called Johns Hopkins only to be told that Dr Carson wasn't seeing any new patients. I asked if I could send Leah's records for a second opinion and she said sure. Leah had a spinal fluid leak and we drove at 2:00am to Johns Hopkins and Leah was admitted from the ER. At 6:00 a man walked into the room and I asked if we could go into the hallway as Leah had finally fallen as ...

Jeffery Bond, two men came to Alabama today, one preaches "The white man is our mortal enemy, and we cannot accept him. I will fight to see that vicious beast go down into the lake of fire prepared for him from the beginning, that he never rise again to give any innocent black man, woman or child the *** that he has delighted in pouring on us for 400 years." The other preaches : "When I treat other people with kindness and love, it is part of my way of paying my debt to God and the world for the privilege of living on this planet.". One was Nation of Islam Minister Louis Farrakhan here on behalf of Alabama Democrats. The other was Dr. Ben Carson, renowned neurosurgeon at Johns Hopkins who is the American example of someone who has achieved great success from a broken home and humble background, here on the behalf of the Republican Party. What group supports racism?
Indoctrination on college campuses continues. Aren't universities supposed to support diversity in thought? We have once again entered the college commencement season, which means we'll soon be reading about uplifting graduation speeches delivered by prominent Americans. Or at least by prominent liberal Americans. It's becoming increasingly apparent that conservative speakers aren't welcome on college and university campuses. Last month, in the span of a few days, student protests disrupted a presentation by Karl Rove at the University of Massachusetts and one by Rand Paul at Howard University. That same week, former Bush administration official Robert Zoellick withdrew as a commencement speaker at Swarthmore College, while Obama critic Ben Carson did the same at Johns Hopkins due to student protests. In 2012, only one Republican elected official was invited to speak at a top 50 liberal arts college: Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell at the University of Richmond. The top 100 universities invited three Republic ...

Kathy and I were in a crowd of over 800 people last night to hear Dr. Ben Carson speak at a fundraiser here in Greenville. Dr. Carson is a neurosurgeon at Johns Hopkins and also Christian philanthropist. He was the dynamic and nonpolitically correct keynote speaker at the recent National Prayer Breakfast in DC and his speech has gotten so much attention. I knew little about him until I heard him speak last night - he's the real deal. Please do yourself a favor and Google him and read his about his life story. We need guys like him to be heard in our country. Have a great weekend everybody!

People have a problem with Dr. Ben Carson's speech? I have met Dr. Carson at Johns Hopkins. I ate dinner with him and Rosa Parks. I just listened to Dr. Carson's speech. There was nothing offensive, although he did graze Mr. Obama with some common sense - which he seems to have lacked in his last four years. Go on You Tube and listen to Dr. Carson's speech. I applaud this intellectual humanitarian for his candor, his intelligence. I hope that Mr. Obama realizes what our country needs, and his responsibility to provide it as our president. We need his leadership and the trust of those who voted for him. He owes us all of his efforts in this time of great economic need.

From skull basher to brain healer Fourteen-year-old Ben was on the fast track to prison. The African-American youth had no father, was failing every class at school, and had a ferocious temper. He once tore open a classmate's forehead with a rock and even threatened his own mother with a hammer. But instead of ending up in prison, Ben landed in a hospital — one of the most prestigious in the world. Today he is Dr. Ben Carson, chief pediatric neurosurgeon at Johns Hopkins University Hospital. How did he turn his life around? The first person to stop Ben's one-way trip to prison was his mother. She took him to church and turned off the TV. She made him read several books a week and write reports on them. But his mother couldn't control Ben's terrible temper. One day he became outraged at another boy and tried to stab him in the abdomen, but the blade struck the boy's belt buckle and broke. Suddenly Ben realized what he was doing. Horrified, he ran home, locked himself in the bathroom, and fell to his knee ...
Today's great quote is from Dr. Ben Carson, professor and director of Pediatric Neurosurgery at the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions: "A victim walking through sand looks down and sees dirt, a victor sees the ingredients for building a castle." He's an African-American, a Christian and shares about his life of poverty and being the dummy in his class until his Detroit mother challenged he and his brother to strart reading. Great read!

Maxine Evans Gray shared."Don't Quit" This is for low achievers: Dr. Ben Carson grew up in a one parent, impoverished home. He was a low grade student, sometimes making straight F's! His temper caused him to almost kill someone! Yet he snapped out of it and became one of the top neurosurgeons in the world and the first neurosurgeon to successfully separate conjoined twins! His work as head pediatric neurosurgeon at Johns Hopkins has saved the lives of even children with severe epilepsy! I am the mother of seven very gifted children whose abusive backgrounds caused them to slump into pits of despair, a lot like Dr. Carson. Yet just as Dr. Carson had a mother who pushed him, I had to push most of mine through High School! While others were celebrating straight A's or B's on their children's report cards, I celebrated passing grades! Yet these children of mine are overcoming great odds! Two of my boys are professional at sales management and can sell dirty socks off their feet! The other son is a computer ge ...
