Belgian Malinois's are literally German Shepherds on crack. This was not a good breed for your lifestyle lol. Good…
I was being deliberately Burns-ian. White House has Belgian Malinois. They're faster and meaner than German Shepherds.
SEAL Team War Dog in Action When Osama bin Laden was killed only one of the 81 members of the super-secret SEAL* DevGru unit was identified by name: Cairo, the war dog. Cairo, like most canine members of the elite U.S. Navy SEALs, is a Belgian Malinois. The Malinois breed is similar to German shepherds but smaller and more compact, with an adult male weighing in the 30-kilo (66 lbs) range. German shepherds are still used as war dogs by the American military but the lighter, stubbier Malinois is considered better for the tandem parachute jumping and rappelling operations often undertaken by SEAL teams. Labrador Retrievers are also favoured by various military organizations around the world. Like their human counterparts, the dog SEALs are highly trained, highly skilled, highly motivated special ops experts, able to perform extraordinary military missions by Sea, Air and Land (thus the acronym). The dogs carry out a wide range of specialized duties for the military teams to which they are attached: With a s ...
Today in History December 21, 2007 Military Working Dog Lex TEDDs, or Tactical Explosive Detection Dogs, come in many shapes and sizes. They can be German Shepherds, Labrador Retrievers or Belgian Malinois, even Pit Bulls, but the first thing they all have in common is a "high ball drive". To them, a tennis ball is the beginning and end of all joy. From that beginning, the dog is trained to associate finding a bomb with getting the tennis ball as a reward, and the results can be astonishing. The first official American bomb dogs were used in North Africa in the 1940s, where they were used to detect German mines. Today’s TEDD is a highly specialized and well trained soldier, working with his handler and able up to detect 64 or more explosive compounds. Military Working Dog Lex was one such dog, deployed to Iraq with the United States Marine Corps in 2006. The dog’s second deployment began in November, when he was paired with Marine Corporal Dustin J. Lee, stationed in the military police departm ...

Trainer Mike Ritland says he's open to working with any dog that can pass his test, but so far only three breeds have made the cut: Belgian Malinois, Dutch Shepherds and German Shepherds. What sets them apart?
Per Elizabeth Graham-Oakes Hello, I am hoping you might be able to help us out. We are interested in getting a Belgian Malinois puppy (female) for our family. We live in Vermont on ten acres more than .5 of a mile from any roadway. I did found a family a few hours away who recently had a litter, but has already sold all the puppies. They have a young child so they won't be breeding their dogs again for at least 4 years. We would prefer a puppy from a family breeder or at least a line that isn't overly aggressive. We have done much research on the breed and love all aspects. We have raised two German Shepherds both from 6 weeks and recently lost them a year apart. Sequoyah was 14 and Cinder was 10 they were amazing!!! Cinder followed my son's around like he was their nanny I don't have many pictures that Cinder isn't in because he was always by their side watching over them! He was a gentile giant and so sweet. Sequoyah was our 1st baby! She was the smartest dog I have ever had the pleasure of knowing and ...
In the wake of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, over 350 trained search and rescue dogs responded to Ground Zero and the Pentagon. The dogs were extremely important in locating human victims, by using their sense of smell and agility to direct workers to the location of those injured and deceased. The aftermath of 9/11 saw the largest deployment of SAR (search-and-rescue) dogs in U.S. history. In addition, 300 therapeutic dogs were deployed to help comfort people.Among the most popular dog breeds to be used were German Shepherds, Australian Shepherds, Belgian Shepherds, Yellow Labradors, Black Labradors, Chocolate Labradors, Golden Retrievers, Portuguese Waterdogs, Belgian Malinois, and Border Collies. Thank you dogs, you are true heroes!
