I liked a video The birth of Catwoman | Batman Returns
When I think of Batman Returns, I always remember Danny Divito & Michelle Pfeiffer, but I always forget Christopher Walken until I see him!

Nosferatu was played by Max Schreck, Christopher Walken's character in Batman Returns... Coincidence? I think not.…

I know Kevin Smith hates Batman Returns, and it has its flaws, but I really like this movie's gothic weirdness. And Michael Keaton is great.

Batman Returns - bonus points for multiple dartboards? :)
The Dark Knight Returns Batman is one of the best Batman, alongside Zur-En-Arh Batman and FlashPoint Batman.

comically optimistic flip of a Batman Returns promotional proto that I think sold some months ago.
released a great set to commemorate Returns. One of the finer movie card sets.
Why is batman killing and torturing they never had him do that in the comics or the Dark Knight Returns smh
“I am Catwoman. Hear me roar.”. Michelle Pfeiffer as Selina Kyle in Batman Returns, 1992.
I still would like to grab a CIB copy of Batman Returns on Genesis for my Batman subset

There's no doubt return last night will prove to be unforgettable, just like these SHOCKING comebacks!
Whose portrayal of Alfred Pennyworth do you find most enduring?. Say it loud and catch 'Batman Returns' at 11:29am.
You forgot Little Man Tate, The Mighty, and Lost in Yonkers on DLM. Also, Union Terminal is in Batman Returns.
.. Even if she didn't sound like Larry the cable guy, and look like the Joker from Batman Returns, she'd be disgusting.
Domhnall Gleeson, Batman Forever was Joel Schumacher's, Tim Burton's 2nd Batman and Penguin was in Batman Returns!
Watching a snippet of Batman Returns, and Danny Devito as the penguin still scares the crap out of me. Nice wig, though, Chris Walken.
Michael D was the stunt double for Danny Devito in Batman Returns
I mean Batman is really not in Batman Returns or Dark Knight Rises very much.
Tim Burton's Batman Returns is probably my favourite Batman film. Remind me of this next time I say it's Dark Knight Rises.
Happy Birthday to Christopher Walken (Mar 31, 1943), pictured as Max Shreck in Tim Burton's 'Batman Returns' (1992).
You should see Chris Walken as Max Shreck in Batman Returns. He even says 'You're Fired' to Catwoman at the end!
Exactly! I do like the Nolanverse, Burton I have issues with, but LOVE Batman Returns, just for the 1920's Expressionism.
Trump is like a surreal combination of Max Shreck and The Penguin from Batman Returns.
if it's black ketchup it should be like "Danny De Vito in Batman Returns when he froths at the mouth a bit blood ketchup"
. You kinda remind me of Michelle Pfieffer as Catwoman . in Batman Returns, directed by Tim Burton... Great xmas/halloween flick.
And let's not forget Michelle Pfieffer in Batman Returns... ❤️
That's the holy trinity, Scissorhands and Batman Returns and Ed Wood. Amazing triple-bill to be sure
Michelle Pfeifer in Batman Returns is the reason why I never watch Batman Returns.
"Batman Returns was so bad they brought in Joel Schumacher to turn it into a rave" 😂😂😂 nice team up Kevin & Spencer.
A big shout out for that just broke that the Batman Returns character Max Schreck will be appearing in
I feel like Selina Kyle the moment before she goes completely mental in Batman Returns. If only I could pull off skin-tight PVC.
I'd describe my vibe as half-dead Michelle Pfieffer as Selena Kyle after being pushed out a window in Batman Returns.
Batman Returns is the best Batman movie. Michael Keaton is still the best Batman. Tim Burton is the best Batman director.
Happy 45th bday Tonya Harding. Your '91 program to Batman Returns into Send in the Clowns into Tone Loc's Wild Thing will ALWAYS inspire me!
I can think of a few survivors but the cost is high. Selena Kyle in Batman Returns, I think.
overhead view, back wheels lined up. Animated series vs Batman Returns Batmissle.
The Dark Knight Returns suit in Batman: Arkham Knight is so bad ***
Batman Returns. Keaton as Bats - awesome. Having phiffer, Devito and Walken as the bad guys, genius. Cool film

In Batman Returns, Michelle Pfeiffer catwoman's suit was "vacuum-sealed" and could only be wore for a limited time.
I predict you get a recency bias question or two regarding Happ over Locke when Batman Returns (couldn't help the cap 'R').

I do love that Dark Knight Returns Batman is a big figure in LEGO Batman 3. It fits nicely.
I like my settings to tell stories. The Gotham in Batman Returns tells me no stories I haven't already heard in Batman
The one in Batman Returns doesn't seem like a place where people actually live. More like a really great looking set
...Batman Returns, The Coneheads and The Martin Short Show. She also appeared on 30 Rock as the mother of Jenna Maroney’s mother.
So I also watched Batman Forever today. Batman Returns was slightly better but. Jim Carrey as The Riddler was amazingly hilarious.
Phantasm is my third favorite Batman film after Batman Returns and the Adam West one :D
they should make a new Arkham game set between Origins and Asylum where the bad guy is Chris Walken from Batman Returns
The Punisher movie was 100 times worse than I remember. Cliche, bloodless action, a patriotic Batman Returns-esque score, Thomas Jane, meh.
wonder if that's the inspiration for Christopher Walken's Max Shreck in Batman Returns
"My blood? I gave, at the office." "That was one pint, Max. I'm talking gallons."--Max Shreck and Catwoman, 'Batman Returns'
'Security? Who let Vicki Vale into the Batcave?! I'm sitting there working, all of a sudden ''Oh hi Vic, c'mon in!'''. Batman Returns
It was v interesting seeing Christopher Walken and Michelle Pfeiffer on the same screen since Batman Returns.
My Burton faves are Sleepy Hollow, Ed Wood, and Big Fish. Batman/Batman Returns are still interesting but too garish for me.
Why was Batman(1989) so good yet everyone in Batman Returns(1992) sounded like a piece of wood. Even Walken sucked in it.
Playing on Roguelike. Every time I get through a rough patch, I think about Catwoman at the end of Batman Returns:

Following the release of Batman Returns in 1992, Warner Bros. decided to go in a different direction with filmmakers, and wound up replacing Tim Burton with Joel Schumacher for what would wind up becoming 1995's Batman Forever . So what exactly happened?
Big Eyes director Tim Burton chatted with Yahoo about casting Michael Keaton ("Desperate Measures") to be his Caped Crusader and why he wasn't asked to direct the sequel to Batman Returns. Hit the jump to check it out.

The fraternity of actors who have played Batman in TV and movies have varying degrees of dedication to the role. Michael Keaton, who played Batman in 1989's Batman and 1991's Batman Returns, is proud of his stint as Batman. Recently, Christian Bale, who most recently portrayed the superhero in Christopher Nolan’s “Dark Knight” trilogy, was said to be jealous that Ben Affleck would be taking the role over for the Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice film. We switched right from Batman Returns to The Dark Knight Rises. There was a bit of mood whiplash.
So Jamie Foxx is Jim Carrey in "Batman"? And neither is good as Michelle Pfeiffer in "Batman Returns".
Got taken for a lovely dinner now I'm all cosey watching my favourite Batman - Batman Returns. Michelle Pfeiffer though 👌
If you think about it, Batman Returns was about Beetle Juice battling the lady from Grease 2 and Frank Reynolds.

While browsing my profile i came across a challenge made by my feeling pepa friend Kathleen Kaye, so i obliged. 20 Facts about me: 1. I am born on October 14, 1984, i just turned 30 and I am very excited about the adventures that are in stored for me now that have reached the big 3-0. 2. I have always took interest in drawings, and it is "one" of my prized talents. I have won a number of art contests during my grade school years. My teachers would often suggest that I should took architecture when i reach college. 3. I am a self-confessed cinephile, i love all things cinema. The first movie that i fell in love with was 1992's Batman Returns, i watched it with my father in Lawaan Cinema (Dabawenyos will know) back in a day when movie theaters were separate business entities and are not just incorporated areas in shopping malls. 4. Because of my love for cinemas, at one point I was seriously considering of becoming a film student/ a wannabe film director, but a more safe career path took its toll. Howeve .. ...
Michael Keaton's departure after Batman Returns is only part of the story - we take a look at exactly why Batman 3 didn't happen.
Ok well. Batman, Batman Returns, Batman Forever, and The Dark Knight. These are the ones I remember >->
I still think The Dark Knight Rises is the better film. But I can't deny how good Batman Returns is.
I didn't see Batman Returns, so I can't judge Michelle. I saw Batman (1966) with Julie Newmar's Catwoman.

I think Batman Returns is a cinema masterpiece. Its a much smarter film then I first thought as a kid. All thanks to Doug Walker! :)
I so hate how they had to use the Batman Returns version of the Penguin
I mean, I know there is historical value to watching Batman Returns, but I'm not exactly a fan on Burton's version.
Also, I still haven't watched Batman Returns. I'm pretty sure that's a good thing.
Batman co-creator Bob Kane gets Hollywood Walk of Fame star Batman co-creator Bob Kane will receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2015. He is one of 30 celebrities selected for the honour next year. His widow Elizabeth Kane initiated the nomination process with support from Warner Bros and DC Entertainment, reports CBR. He died in 1998. Marvel Comics legend Stan Lee received a star on the Walk of Fame in 2011.
Batman Returns was really good👌...but not as good as The Dark Knight Trilogy
Watching Batman, Batman Returns, with Michael Keaton. Batman for ever with Val Kilmer. Batman and Robin with George Clooney. What else can I ask for...?
What do you think is the Best and Worst Batman film? Best: Dark Knight Rises- into opinion the greatest ending for Bruce Wayne's story we've seen in any medium despite some of the films plot problems Worst: Batman Returns- not only is it the least entertaining Batman film, but Batman is barely in it and the tone, characters and plot are just awful
ABC World News with Diane Sawyer apparently never heard of Batman or Batman Returns or Batman Forever or Batman & Robin or Batman Begins or Batman: The Dark Knight or The Dark Knight Rises or any other Batman media from the last 40 years. They showed a photo of Ben Affleck as Batman alongside "The Batmobile 2.0," referencing the Batmobile from Batman (TV series) as version 1.
Ben Affleck's Batman looks *** good, really liking the Batman Returns look they're going with
So, this I work came up to me the other day and said I hear you're a big Batman fan and I said yes I am. He's like ok I have a question for you and I said what is the question. He asks me who directed the last 3 Batman movies and I said Christopher Nolan and he says that I was wrong. So I chuckled a little and asked him who directed them then and he tells me that it was Tim Burton, I said no you're wrong he directed the first 2 which are Batman and Batman Returns.
Anyone want to roll with me to Batman/Batman Returns tonight at Egyptian Theatre? I still have an extra pass. Hit me!
Went to Best Buy to get a cable. I mistakenly went through the Blu Rays. Ended up with Batman, Batman Returns, Dark City, and Star Trek Into Darkness. I watched Batman tonight. It is just as awesome as I remember.
Batman Forever - "Sigh".Schumacher. Personally I blamed WB for the down fall of this franchise but I'm getting ahead of myself. Now on to BMF. This is the black sheep of the entire 4 films ( yes even more so than Batman Returns ). Alot of the reasons has to deal with the fact that WB decided to make a film close the the batman they shouldn't have. The 60's Adam West Batman. Now no disrespect to the old series but as classic as it is to allot of people we can all agree that this is not the batman we want to see. So when WB found out the apparent results of Batman Returns from the parents complaint and the fact the film did less than its previous film, they decided to rework the film to be more safe and lucrative. Making it more viewer friendly and capable of selling action figures. Such an evil and greedy way for a movie to be made. A movie should not be made for action figures but because a story yearns for it. Now lets get to the main subject at hand. Now I was only 10 when this film came out and I pers ...
Happy Birthday, Michelle Pfeiffer! Pfeiffer was born in Santa Ana, California on April 29, 1958. A winner of the Miss Orange County beauty pageant, she landed her breakthrough role in Scarface in 1983. Pfeiffer earned an Oscar nomination (for best actress) for the film The Fabulous Baker Boys (1989). Her later films include Batman Returns and Hairspray. Pfeiffer has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. She's married to television producer David E. Kelley. Michelle Pfeiffer lived in Newport, went to Harbor High and became interested in acting from drama class there, was a teen checker at Vons grocery store on 17th Street, in Costa Mesa. Pfeiffer participated in local beauty pageants and was once crowned, "Ms. Orange County," which helped launch her acting career-Wikipedia... I love Newport Beach!
So we're all in agreement that Max Shreck from Batman Returns is running the Flames right?
"It's not who I am underneath, it's what I do that defines me." ~ Bruce Wayne - Batman Returns
Another amazing retro haul today. Seems like I keep getting stuck pricing and shelving this stuff. Odd how that works. Since I left NES for last before, I'll start out with the retro and work my way up to modern this time. Before I start listing these, please remember they are first come first serve so I can not hold anything for anyone. First up, we have the original Batman for NES. Until Arkham Asylum, this and the Genesis version of Batman Returns were the best and only playable Batman games for decades. Let us pretend like Dark Tomorrow never happened. After that, there is Batman: Return of the Joker. For some reason Batman uses guns in this, and while it isn't a bad game it doesn't compare to the original title. Next we have the pre-Don Cheadle Captain Planet for NES. THE POWER IS YOURS! Another classic in Double Dragon II right after that. Spin kick that first level boss right off the roof; no lame boss fight for me. In the next row we have Hook, based on the creepy-in-hindsight Robin Williams/Dusti ...
Conceptual illustrator, Tim Flattery ("Batman Returns"), has updated his website with concept art that he created for Marvel's latest blockbuster, Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Check out designs for S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Helicarrier and Quinjets.
Happy Birthday Christopher Walken! The distinctive actor who has given us geeks The Headless Horseman in "Sleepy Hollow", Gabriel in "The Prophecy" series, and Max Shreck in "Batman Returns". He's done a ton of other parts, but those 3 are geek contributions. HAVE A GREAT DAY SIR AND CELEBRATE WITH AS MUCH COW BELL AS YOU WANT!
I don't like it when they change the races of characters from book to screen. I like Samuel L. Jackson as an actor, but Nick Fury from the classic comic books had such a cool look. I was disappointed they didn't recreate the same image for the movies. Except, I did like Halle Berry as Cat Woman, although the film bombed. However, I wish they casted Siouxsie Sioux as Cat Woman in Batman Returns. Word is they considered it back in the day.
This year happens to be the 75th anniversary of Batman so I thought I should talk a little bit about my favorite fictional character and universe in all of fictional media. I was first introduced to Batman through two things as a kid. The first was Batman: The Animated Series that came on during the 90's and also Tim Burton's Batman Returns. I remember being so awed by this character and I don't know what really attracted me to it in the first place. Was it that badass costume with the cape and cowl that always visually struck me, the overtop and scary villains with the likes of Joker, Penguin, Riddler and Two-Face, or was it just how interesting the setting of Gotham City was with it's dark and crime ridden streets that just waiting to be swept up by the Caped Crusader. Now that I'm older and have seen Batman through various different retellings (from the lighthearted Adam West tv show, the dramatic Christopher Nolan trilogy, to the grim and violent Frank Miller comics) I have now call Batman my favorite ...
I meant Batman Returns (not Begins). Prince only did the first movie's soundtrack (unfortunately). I love Prince and Batman!
Batman Returns got star power acting, but at the time no movie went harder that T2... T1000 was such a beast
Diamonesk Personalized Engagement Ring And Wedding
Just watched Batman Returns. I can't believe I once thought that movie was awesome. It was almost as cheesy as the very first Batman movie. Nothing but one liners and pyrotechnics. What am I talking about? That's what makes a great movie!! Screw plot line and development.
Watching my favorite Batman movie, Batman Returns.. I love anything Tim Burton does.
Batman a comic book superhero featured in DC Comics publications, has appeared in various films since his inception. The character first starred in two serial films in the 1940s, Batman and Batman and Robin. The character also appeared in the 1966 film Batman, which was a feature film adaptation of the 1960s Batman TV series starring Adam West and Burt Ward, who also starred in the film. Toward the end of the 1980s, the Warner Bros. studio began producing a series of feature films starring Batman, beginning with the 1989 film Batman, directed by Tim Burton and starring Michael Keaton. Burton and Keaton returned for the 1992 sequel Batman Returns, and in 1995, Joel Schumacher directed Batman Forever with Val Kilmer as Batman. Schumacher also directed the 1997 sequel Batman & Robin, which starred George Clooney. Batman & Robin was poorly received by both the critics and the fans, and after a long hiatus in which multiple possible Batman scripts were developed, Warner Bros. rebooted the film franchise in 200 ...
I recently watched a cool feature on the top 10 comic book supervillain portrayals in film. Inspired, I decided to create my own list. 10. Michael Clarke Duncan as Kingpin (Daredevil) 9. Hugo Weaving as Red Skull (Captain America) 8. Willem Dafoe as the Green Goblin (Spider-Man) 7. Danny Devito as the Penguin (Batman Returns) 6. Dominic West as Jigsaw (The Punisher: Warzone) 5. Cillian Murphy as the Scarecrow (Batman Begins) 4. Tom Hiddleston as Loki (Thor/The Avengers) 3. Jack Nicholson as the Joker (Batman) 2. Sir Ian McKellen as Magneto (X-Men) 1. Heath Ledger as the Joker (The Dark Knight) Feel free to list your suggestions below.
Yep, we also didn't say anything when Michelle Pfeiffer played Catwoman in Batman Returns. Eartha Kitt anyone?
F.y I. Fun fact for the day, Mel Gibson turned down the role as Two Face in Batman Returns, picked up by Tommy Lee Jones, to star in "Braveheart" .
Personally, I think Batman Returns' score may be one of the best in all of Danny Elfman and Tim Burton's work together.
Batman Returns is a great Batman movie. As for pure entertainment, it's probably the best of all of them, including Nolan's.
Although... turning down... was not the reason she didn't get the role... I always have thought Sean Young would have been great as Catwoman in Batman Returns... especially if they had gone with the more classic costume of the character.
Disappointed with the junky "Green Lantern" movie? Wondering why "Iron Man 3" is best seen drunk? Maybe you should try your hand at some ANIMATED fantasy films... To take advantage of the Tim Burton live-action film "Batman Returns", Warners Bros. asked its animation unit (which up until now had been producing "Tiny Toon Adventures" and "Animaniacs" for the Fox network) to do a Batman animated television series. This series, "Batman: The Animated Series", ran from 1992 to 1995 and again as "The New Batman Adventures" from 1997 to 1999. The Emmy-winning series -- it won in writing, music, best animated series, and more -- starred Kevin Conroy as Batman, with 109 episodes produced. The startling 1940s-style animation, dubbed "Dark Deco", proved immensely influential in animation (and remains so to this day). In 1993, Warner Bros. Animation produced a $6 million film, "Batman: Mask of the Phantasm", as a tie-in to the television series. The 76-minute film was theatrically released and earned $5.6 milli ...
Christopher Walken was in Batman Returns? I do not remember that.
The femme fatale (a French phrase meaning “fatal woman”) is an archetype in art, literature, and movies, and embodies a mysterious beautiful woman, who often leads her lovers into dangerous, or outright deadly, situations. Movies began utilizing this idea with the early silent films, and it flourished with film noir in the 1940s and 1950s in such stellar classics as Double Indemnity, Leave Her to Heaven, and Vertigo. The themes have carried on ever since, usually with crime dramas, giving film critics much to discuss about the portrayals of women in cinema and about whether the femme fatale represents a challenge to traditional gender roles. Check out the bulletin board in the store for the full list! And remember, all 25 titles in the list rent for half-price this month only. Batman Returns (1992) Michelle Pfeiffer sizzles as Catwoman in Tim Burton’s followup to his 1989 Batman. So I'm watching Batman Returns (1992 with Michael Keaton and Danny Devito) and wow. Its so morbid. o.o
Batman Returns with Michelle Pfeiffer & Michael Keaton is a classic
Oh gosh. Last night the Michael Keaton 1989 Batman was on and now Batman Returns is on!! This week just keeps getting better!
Even though the new ones are the best of all time the 1991 Batman Returns w/ Michael Keaton was way ahead of its time
at least Batman Returns is on. Michael Keaton is the best batman ever.
Personal fave is Batman Returns. Danny De Vito class as The Penguin. And Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman OH MY! Superb film all round
Danny Devito Penguin, from Batman Returns! Time lapse video By: Anthony Mariscal Total time, just over 6 hours from start to finish. Music: From the Batman Returns soundtrack, birth of the penguin
Regardless of the weird, freak Penguin in Batman Returns, Danny Devito was born to play Oswald. I'd love to see him, now that he's older, play the slimy upper-class mobster version we know and love in the new series. A guy can dream.
Hard not to see some Frank Reynolds in De Vito as Penguin (watching Batman Returns now on TV): crass, disgusting, vindictive, hedonistic...
Who else knew Christopher Walken was in Batman Returns? BOOM! Some knowledge on ya!
It's really funny to go back and watch Batman Returns after seeing It's Always Sunny. Frank Reynolds and the Penguin are pretty much the same character.
"Batman Returns" (1992) is on. Danny Devito is phenomenal as the Penguin, Chrisopher Walken pleasantly unpleasant as Max Shreck, and Michelle Pfiefer as Catwoman... well. she can give me toxoplasmosis any time she'd like. Meowr.
Annette Bening was Originally Casted as Catwoman for Batman Returns, do you think she would have been a better Catwoman then Michelle Pfeiffer?... Others that audition for the part was Raquel Welch, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Madonna, Ellen Barkin, Cher, Bridget Fonda, Susan Sarandon and Sean Young (Who was Originally Casted as Vicki Vale before Kim Basinger)... I thought Michelle Pfeiffer was a safe and smart second pick
I finally got around to pitching an article to I pitched "X Non-Batman moments in Batman films" this is my sample entry ( the one I wrote out like a full article entry). Sample entry - Chicks love the car At the time of it's release Batman Returns was easily the darkest portrayal of the Caped Crusader to be committed to celluloid. Parents weren't too happy when they entered the theater expecting family friendly fun but instead got a mutated bird man trying to bite peoples noses off. Not to mention a decidedly homicidal Batman, but we'll get to that later. So it's really not surprising that for the next Batfilm Warner Bros. decided to lighten the tone. What is surprising is just how much they lightened it. Batman Forever was Joel Schumacher's first attempt to murder the Batman franchise, a murder he would perform successfully with Batman and Robin in 1998. Schumacher took one look at Tim Burton's previous two films and decided that they were sorely lacking in rubber nipples, DayGlo paint, and ...
Well, a big superhero fan, I saw all movies starring the Caped Crusader. Well, my comments are here:   *Batman (4.5/5) - A superhero picture done so well, Batman is intense, dark and broodingly fun. Tim Burton makes the unexpected out of his well-flashed designs and visual style and actor Michael Keaton blew my expectations after I predicted, before watching the movie, that the movie will blow off. And Jack Nicholson's Joker is manically great. While he takes much of Batman's screen presence, this movie still delivers a satisfying dark time at the films.   *Batman Returns (4.5/5) - Continuing the adventures of the Dark Knight, this sequel holds on to the unexpected success of it's predecessor with another haunting performance by Michael Keaton and a darker approach from Tim Burton. This movie, in my opinion, is fresher, much more flawless and better than the first. The villains have a charismatic approach, particularly Selina Kyle's Catwoman and much more purpose to breathe life into the Gotham crime. ...
I can't find Bad Santa, which *** cuz I wanted to take it w me for sexy Christmas tomorrow. So it's Surviving Christmas & Batman Returns.
I'm a Scrooge who really hates X-Mas for a wide variety of reasons, but one way I do acknowledge the holiday is watching movies that are set during X-Mas time. Up first are the Bruce Willis ones Die Hard, Die Hard 2: Die Harder, Twelve Monkeys, The Last Boy Scout, & Red. Then it's on to Lethal Weapon, Enemy of the State, The Bourne Identity, First Blood, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Iron Man 3, Trading Places, Ghostbusters II, L.A. Confidential, then maybe even Batman Returns.
This is for all the people that are talking about watching 'Die Hard' for Christmas. (P.s - the second one is also at Christmas) There are a tonne of OTHER awesome Yule time flicks. For example; Go!, Long Kiss Goodnight, Rocky IV, Bad Santa, Jingle all the way (just for Phil Hartman), Batman Returns, Life Of Brian, In Bruges, TRADING PLACES , Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, and Gremlins! So - do yourself a flavour and bring in the season with something other than a yippy ki yay. Merry Christmas.
Batman Returns is about to come on and Sky Greats refuses to play it :( oh well, Al Murray is on Planet Rock and just put on David Lee Roth!
My Top Ten Favorite Christmas Movies I’ve noticed that people are posting a lot of top ten lists on their FB pages lately, usually for the horror genre. While I could easily do the same, I thought I’d give the meme a seasonal spin and list my favorite Christmas movies, accompanied by a quick blurb as to why. Here they are, in descending order to my favorite: 10. The Ref (1994): Denis Leary is at his profane, razor sharp, rapid fire best in this dark comedy about a cat burglar trapped with a dysfunctional family on Christmas Eve. 9. Batman Returns (1992): I include Tim Burton’s direct sequel because not only does the film being set at Christmas actually set the tone of the story, it leads to a beautiful contrast between the dark, gothic vibe and the glistening elegance of Gotham in winter. Although I acknowledge the Nolan films as technically being the best screen adaptations of the Dark Knight, Batman Returns is still my personal favorite of any of the live action movies. 8.The Nightmare Before Chri ...
Am I the only one who still thinks that Batman Returns is the best Batman movie? Yeah, yeah. Heath Ledger was a great Joker, but in Batman Returns we've got a great Catwoman played by Michelle Pfeiffer, an amazing Penguin by Danny Devito and definitely a great Batman by Michael Keaton. Add to that Christopher Walken and that the movie was produced and directed by Tim Burton, how can it ever be beaten?
Do you think Billy Dee Williams should have played 2face in Batman Returns? Wonder why Burton didn't do that
Started with Batman (1989), Wes & i are continuing down the line with Batman Returns. Michael Keaton is so dreamy
Just watched Batman Returns and Michelle Pfeiffer will always be Catwoman to me
Michelle Pfeiffer is some woman ! Love her as Catwoman in Batman Returns.. MEOW ;)
I can't even begin to count how many times I've seen Batman Returns, but how have I never realised that Paul Reubens is in the intro?
A true friend will tell you not to rent Batman Returns on Amazon instant video.
So, not to brag, but I was two feet from Tim Burton today. I wanted to gush like a little girl (Stephanie 'Slim' Lim), but I kept my cool, despite wanting to grovel at his feet. I still have shivers just thinking about how I was in the same room as someone that's made so many of my favorite films. I'd probably let loose if it were Mel Brooks, since he's going to be dead soon, and would naturally like to know that his work brings happiness to so many people, but I digress. Tim Burton: How do I appreciate thee? You helped me understand that it's okay to be dark and think of horrific things that can happen to people (check 'Vincent'), and you made my childhood pretty rockin' with Pee-wee's Big Adventure and Beetlejuice and Batman and Batman Returns and The Nightmare Before Christmas, and my grown-up years pretty special with Big Fish and Sweeney Todd and Alice in Wonderland and the list goes on and on.
Wow! I just won this for free, Batman Returns "Alfred Pennyworth" Card
"I had a strange dream last night that mixed current events in Toronto with Oswald Cobblepot in Batman Returns. In the dream Mayor Ford unleashed missile-carrying penguins into the streets of the city as he chewed on raw fish. I swear to God."— Troy Harkin
