I have seen many amazing performers in my life, but never have I ever had an experience as I did at the concert I attended last night. Last night, on May 19th, 2014, Barry Gibb performed at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, PA. And it's plain to see that Barry Gibb, even at the age of 67, is still keeping the Bee Gee tradition of excellent music and extraordinary showmanship alive. I first learned that Barry was coming to Philadelphia after watching him on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. I have been a fan of the Bee Gees ever since I was a little girl. It is not an exaggeration at all to say that I am a life long fan of the Bee Gees, and for that matter, music itself. I have been to many concerts and have seen many fantastic performers, such as Barry Manilow, the Celtic Tenors, Billy Joel, Air Supply, Elton John, Styx, Cher, REO Speedwagon - and the list goes on and on. But after last night's concert, I can easily say that Barry Gibb put on the best concert that I have had the pleasure of attend ...

How do you make an early Sunday morning drive interesting? Listen to Casey Kasem's America's Top 40 1975 - Elton John, Eagles, Bee Gee's, Barry Manilow, Linda Ronstadt, Chicago, ELO, Gladys Night all in their prime - I'm singing, and Savannah's trying to find a reason to live... Hey, I'm up and driving you to an 8am soccer game - may it inspire some fabulousness on the field today, my dear daughter! xoxox
I have a lot of old music to sell. Need to get rid of it in the next few days. Over 160 cassettes, 30 CDs, and around 50 8-tracks. Everything from Barry Manilow to Black Sabbath. Luciano Pavarotti, Rod Stewart, Led Zeppelin, Garth Brooks, Vic Damone, Cher, Elton John, some gospel, some Gregorian chanting music, some guy with a pan flute and more. $75 for all of it, storage cases included.
Rules: in your status, list 10 records that have stayed with you in some way. Don't take but a few minutes, and don't think too hard. They don't have to be the "great" or "right" records. Just ones that have touched you. Tag 10 people in it, including me, so I can see your list (seriously, I'm interested!) In no particular order: 1. Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass - Whipped Cream and other Delights 2. Donny Osmond - Portrait of Donny 3. Elton John - Rock of the Westies 4. Michael Jackson - Thriller 5. Barry Manilow - The Best of 6. Milli Vanilli - Girl You Know It's True. 7. Alabama - All of them 8, Garth Brooks - Garth Brooks 9. The Manhattan Transfer - The Manhattan Transfer 10. Gary Jess - All of them Kelli Cornwell Llewellyn, Stacey Minutello-Cotrufo, Donna Boggio, Anita Oberlander, Robin Hilferty Reed, Pamela Coburn Carson, Susan Bowcutt, Paula Feiler Gall, Glenda Jones Reed, Carolyn J. Althoff (I tagged my 10 people but anyone can participate!)
Yes, I still do listen to Elton John and Barry Manilow. So?
Reposted from June 3: In 1997, I watched an HBO movie called "In the Gloaming", starring Glenn Close and Robert Sean Leonard and directed by Christopher Reeve. It was heartbreaking and had a huge impact on me. In 2008, when I was too sick to care for myself, and moved back home to my parents' house, I rewatched the film and it hit closer to home. When I opened my theater, that movie kept nagging at me and I thought it would make a terrific stage play, so that's what I did, I adapted it. My idea was to take it to Fringe. I didn't make the lottery that year. At that year's Fringe, I saw James Brendlinger's production of Anne Frank Superstar, and again, it was a show that really moved me. I saw that you can take a serious drama and add music from a popular artist, and it can be a truly beautiful experience. I revisited my play and started thinking of what artist's song catalogue would fit with the storyline. I listened to Barry Manilow, Barbra Streisand, James Taylor, Elton John, and several others. Nothing ...
I went to see Barry Manilow last night. I thought Elton John was a great concert, but Barry was equally as good. He had the audience sing and dance with him. It was fantastic

Eric Church, Barry Manilow, REO Speedwagon, Elton John and Brooks and Dunn.. There ya go
Um, why is it OK to ask Adele about her alleged 'weight' issues, if we can't ask *** questions of Elton John, Barry Manilow, Melissa Etheridge, George Michael, Boy George, Bette Midler, Clay Aiken, (shall I go on)?
There is still room left at the Diana Ross school of "How to perform for a global audience" act now! space is limited and only available for divas with turntable hits! This years guest professors include, Elton John, Bette Midler, Shirley Bassey, Anthony Hamilton, Maxwell, Lionel Richie, Tina Turner, Millie Jackson, Barry Manilow, and Striesand.
I just played "Mandy" by Barry Manilow on the juke box at Beach Ball. It should come up next after this Elton John crap.
I'm watching The Boss on tv and reminiscing about my concert-going days...interested to hear who my friends have seen live. Here's my list: Barry Manilow (more than once, I think. Ahem) Cheap Trick (at NIU) Rod Stewart (front row!) Elton John (several times) Billy Joel Queen (back row!) John (Cougar) Mellencamp Bruce Springsteen Don Henley Stevie Nicks (at Red Rocks-awesome venue!) Neil Diamond Lorain-do you remember the Poplar Creek concert where I couldn't find my car? I can't remember who I was with?
* Why do so many people hate Justin Bieber? ~ I personally don't listen to him, but I don't understand what people have against him. He's just a kid! As a girl who used to love Hanson way back when(and I still do!), I can understand why so many teenagers like him. He just sings generic sounding pop music, but most other top 40 acts do too. And I don't think he sounds like a girl at all, I think he just sounds like a little kid, which he is...and last time I checked, it wasn't a crime to be a kid. 3 years ago Report Abuse * Additional Details ~ So many people said they hate him because he's *** . I remember sooo many times when people used to say Hanson was *** ..that's ridiculous. They are now married and 1 or 2 of them have kids. People are just way too judgemental. Even if he were *** why is that a reason to hate him? Some of the most influential artists have been *** or bi.Freddy Mercury(of Queen), Elton John, Barry Manilow, Janis Joplin, Johnny Mathis, David Bowie, Liberace.the list goes on and on. .. ...
Barry Manilow is just gross poppy schlocky badness and Elton John is amazing
you pleasure yourself to Barry Manilow while staring at a picture of Elton John.
Belting out some serious tunes in my apartment right now. Elton John, Barbara Streisand, Barry Manilow, Frank Sinatra, Foreigner, Aerosmith,Michael Bolton, AND my girl Celine Dion. Sorry neighbors! I like to give occasional concerts to my stuffed animals :P
Barry Manilow says: Craig A Meyer is one of the most talented people I have ever worked with. He can do ANYTHING! ALMOST ELTON JOHN stars multi talented singer and pianist Craig A Meyer whose credits include appearances in Film, Television, even Broadway! In music, Meyer has toured internati...
Elton John's "Levon" is definitely one of my all-time favorites. Totes naming my first son Levon. That or 'Cowardly Lion'. Or Barry Manilow.
They just played Gary Barlow's forever love on the radio there, it sounded like Elton John being rodgered by Barry Manilow.
About to be arrested by the soul patrol. Apparently Diana betrayed me by revealing that I like Elton John, Barry Manilow, Gino Vanelli, and Boz Scaggs. My lawyer says after I post bail I will be remanded over to local sexual orientation investgators. Apparently she spilled the beans about my interest in home decor. Dammit. Can't trust anyone anymore.

Just read this beautiful post on Bob Lefsetz blog from Donna Summer's musical director. "I had the pleasure of working with Donna 1998 - 2005; all of it on keyboards, 4 of them as her pianist, 3 as her musical director. Ahh, the stories... too many to tell, whether it was: - the Rod Stewart impersonator we sent onstage with flowers in El Paso during "Dim All The Lights" (she'd originally written the song for Rod and talked about that every show) that made her freak out and fall off her stool laughing during our 'acoustic' segment, - performing as the 'house band' at Tommy Mottola's wedding reception (before he was legally divorced from Mariah), and having my rig directly in front of a table - at which were seated Joe Pesci, Rhea Perlman, Rosie O'Donnell, Danny DeVito, and Michael Jackson, - me getting to perform with my hero Elton John's band, play his piano, and accompany him and Donna on "Enough Is Enough" for the AIDS Foundation's 2003 benefit at Elton's home, then Barry Manilow get up to join them an ...
I like Barry Manilow. I like Rod Stewart. I like Lady Gaga, Ke$ha, Alanis Morissette, Elton John, Prince, Christofer Drew, Daft Punk, Fall Out Boy, andGorillaz. I also like NWA, Tupac, Tech N9ne, Wiz Khalifa, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, and anyone else that's good. I like Parliament Funkadelic, Bootsy Collins, and Sly and the Family Stone. I like Hank Williams, HW Jr., Hank III, David Allen Coe, Zac Brown, and any other country artist that has talent? Youknow who else I like? Slipknot, Lamb of God, Pantera, 5FDP, Korn, and everything else Metal. I'm 100% metalhead, but I love every artist I've named andthen some. If your mind is too shallow to accept other forms of music other than metal, or accept that other people like other things, you don't deserve to have music in your life at all. I'm undeniably metal, even while I'm listening to "I Only Have Eyes For You" or "Hail Mary", or whatever else I enjoy listening to. Get over yourself, you close-minded loser.
Foster The People, Idina Menzel, Barry Manilow, Train, Elton John, & Madonna. My big summer of concerts is certainly diverse!!
When I grew up in the 1970s, the dictionary said homosexuality was a sexual perversion, the same as bestiality, necrophilia and pedophilia - the same as wanting to have sex with dead bodies, little kids and animals. St Paul said thieves, drunkards, murderers and "the effeminate" would not go to heaven. Being *** was a choice; you could just "un-choose" it. Religious leaders said AIDS was "God's answer to homosexuality." Years went by and thousands of *** people died before the government was prodded into taking AIDS seriously. Elton John, Freddie Mercury, Boy George, Barry Manilow, George Michael - they were all in the closet in fear their careers would be ruined if people knew they were *** Funerals for *** people were picketed by Fred Phelps and his God Hates *** campaign; they held signs that said *** GO TO *** " The Ex *** movement claimed homosexuality could be cured. The nature-nurture debate raged. We were assured that *** people were not capable of genuine love, only sinful lust and the gr .. ...
Great I've got Barry Manilow, Elton John and Phil Collins competing in my head at one time! How the heck am I going to sleep, turn down the music. :))
Such fun with the kids. They sang on the same stage at Redrock as Elton John, the Beatles, the Grateful Dead AND Barry Manilow! I'll post their performance after we get home.
