Juventus are lining up a bid for Juan Mata and are prepared to let Arturo Vidal move to Manchester United in the opposite direction, according to reports in Italy. The Spanish midfielder has found first-team opportunities at United more difficult to come by since Louis Van Gaal splashed out to sign Angel Di Maria and Radamel Falcao in the summer. Mata has started two of United’s four games since the close of the transfer window. His start against Everton in the last game before the international break was largely down to Wayne Rooney’s suspension after he was sent off during the 2-1 win over West Ham. Vidal, meanwhile, has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford since the World Cup.
Manchester United has beaten out Barcelona to sign left back Daley Blind from Ajax. Multiple outletsare reporting that a fee of £14 million was agreed upon. The 23-year-old certainly impressed in the Netherlands‘ strong World Cuprun, and no doubt his connections to Louis Van Gaal and Robin van Persie will have a lot to do with how he’ll fit in and succeed at Old Trafford. All summer long, we heard all about Blind being linked to LVG and Ed Woodward, and now it appears that a deal has been done. Defenders is exactly the position that United needs most, so this is a great fit and a tremendous buys. It also helps that they sold off Tom Cleverley for £9 million. That’s some solid business dealings there. Through the group stages of the World Cup, Daley Blind registered more assists than any other player. Since the Ander Herrera and Luke Shaw signings, United have missed out on a few players: Arturo Vidal, Toni Kroos, Thomas Vermaelen and a couple others. But hey, Daley Blind, coupled with Angel Di Mar ...
The agent of Fiorentina winger Juan Cuadrado has touched down in Manchester, according to reports in Spain, sparking rumours the Colombian could be nearing a move to Man United. Cuadrado was one of the outstanding performers at the summer’s World Cup and is hot property on the transfer market following his return from Brazil. The Red Devils are thought to be locked in a three-way battle for the 26-year-old , with Barcelona and Real Madrid also interested. It was said United had tabled a formal £27.5m bid for Cuadrado earlier in the window , but that figure is significantly less than Fiorentina’s believed €50m [£39m] valuation. Reports around Europe have varied as to who is leading the race to sign the La Viola forward, but this latest news could suggest Louis Van Gaal has finally landed his man having missed out on Barcelona-bound Thomas Vermaelen , while their drawn out chase for Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal continues. talkSPORT’s man in Spain, Paul Breen-Turner, joined the Transfer Tavern ...
Man Utd Transfer News: Vidal medical, Vermalean swap deal OFF, Cuadrado decision today Manchester United'S pursuit of Arturo Vidal is gaining pace but their hopes of signing Thomas Vermaelen from Arsenal have come to an end. By: Ben Jefferson Fri, August 8, 2014 The Red Devils are stepping up their efforts to bring Vidal to Old Trafford this summer and have asked Juventus to allow the player to undertake a medical in Manchester. It is an unusual step with the two clubs reportedly yet to agree a fee, but United are insisting on checking that Vidal has no lingering damage to a knee injury picked up before the World Cup. United appear to want to do the checks before finalising a deal with Juventus to avoid raising the fans' hopes over what would almost certainly be a club-record transfer prematurely. And while Juve boss Massimiliano Allegri remains hopeful that Vidal can be persuaded to stay in Turin, he claims fitness concerns should not scupper a deal. In another boost to United's hopes, Juventus have alre ...

Juventus will reportedly ask for Manchester United duo Nani and Javier Hernandez in return for Chilean star Arturo Vidal. Vidal has been linked with a £40m move to The Red Devils this summer, and was believed to have asked the Italian champions for a transfer to England recently – something that Juve have since denied. But, according to Italian publication Corriere dello Sport, the Serie A side are now resigned to losing the talented midfielder to United in the coming weeks and will demand Nani and Hernandez – who are both out of favour at Old Trafford – in return for their prized asset. Vidal is thought to have grown anxious to leave the cash-strapped Italians after seeing reports linking him with a move to the Premier League following his impressive performances for Chile at the World Cup in Brazil this summer. The 27-year-old – who signed for Juventus from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2011 – only signed a new contract with the Bianconerri last year.
