A couple of papers are suggesting that Sunderland are close to landing Liverpool defender Sebastian Coates on a season-long loan. However, if Coates does join, it would mean that Gus Poyet cannot get his Anfield team-mate Fabio Borini on a similar deal, as Premier League rules forbid clubs from taking more than one loan player from any one club. Sunderland remain interested in Borini but the move has dragged on for some time and Poyet is said to want an answer in the next couple of days or he will look elsewhere. Manchester United are set to sign Angel Di Maria today after agreeing a fee with Real Madrid, and there is quite a bit of speculation this morning about who may follow the Argentine to Old Trafford. The Independent writes that Arturo Vidal of Juventus is their top midfield target in a possible £34million deal, although it is reported that the club’s concerns about his fitness are so great that it may require a complex, appearance-based contract. There are plenty of interesting stories in today ...
It can become tiring hearing claims from newspapers in Chile, Italy and England about Arturo Vidal. So much of it is repackaged stuff that's been polished, presented at a new angle, and painted as something new. The saga has become boring even for Manchester United fans. So when a team mate of Arturo Vidal's suggests that he thinks the Chilean is leaving Juventus, it's something shiny and new. When that teammate just happens to be former Manchester United player Paul Pogba, it makes it an even better story. Pogba left Old Trafford for Turin in a controversial low cost move, blaming Sir Alex Ferguson for not giving him enough chances at the Premier League club. Pogba has been speaking to the Australian media whilst on tour Juventus. He's quoted by The Age as saying "We're hearing that Vidal is going but we don't know. For the moment he's injured, he's trying to get fit. We want him to stay at Juventus. At the moment he's here so we won't speak about him leaving." [Source: Sport Witness]
Vidal reportedly tells friends he wants to move to Manchester United Italian TV reveals Old Trafford club hopes that deal is still on Arturo Vidal has told close friends he wants to quit Juventus for Manchester United, according to reports in Italy. Journalist Mario Giunta revealed on Italian TV that Vidal, who starred for Chile in this summer's World Cup in Brazil, is seeking a new challenge in the Premier League. Juventus insist that Vidal is staying, while United have been chasing him all summer. There have been reports that they spoke to the Italian club about a five year deal worth £200,000 per week, though no official offer has yet been made. An instagram post yesterday appeared to suggest he wanted to stay at Juventus, but the Italian media have since confirmed the account was fake.
Juventus will reportedly ask for Manchester United duo Nani and Javier Hernandez in return for Chilean star Arturo Vidal. Vidal has been linked with a £40m move to The Red Devils this summer, and was believed to have asked the Italian champions for a transfer to England recently – something that Juve have since denied. But, according to Italian publication Corriere dello Sport, the Serie A side are now resigned to losing the talented midfielder to United in the coming weeks and will demand Nani and Hernandez – who are both out of favour at Old Trafford – in return for their prized asset. Vidal is thought to have grown anxious to leave the cash-strapped Italians after seeing reports linking him with a move to the Premier League following his impressive performances for Chile at the World Cup in Brazil this summer. The 27-year-old – who signed for Juventus from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2011 – only signed a new contract with the Bianconerri last year.
Juventus Want Two Manchester United Players As Arturo Vidal Looks Set For Old Trafford Transfer Juventus have identified two Manchester United squad players as possible makeweights in any deal for star midfielder Arturo Vidal, according to Corriere dello Sport. The Italian giants would want to open talks with United for the signings of Javier Hernandez and Nani if Vidal is to leave Turin for Manchester this summer, with the Chilean ace widely expected to make the move to Old Trafford. United have long been in the market for a world class signing in midfield, and Vidal has been mentioned as one of their top targets for this summer, whilst other big names such as Toni Kroos and Fredy Guarin have also been linked with the club. Still, a move for Vidal could now be on, and the player is said to be determined to push through a move to the Premier League after having his head turned by the big money contract offer waiting for him at United. Juventus will certainly be disappointed to lose such an important playe ...
Manchester United reach “verbal agreement” on $80 million Arturo Vidal deal Arturo Vidalis edging closer to the exit door at Juventus after Manchester United are said to have reached a “verbal agreement” with the reigning Italian champions. Vidal, 27, is set to become the most expensive player in United’s history as an $80 million deal has been agreed according to Tuttosport in Italyand reports from Vidal’s homeland Chile. [RELATED: Transfer Rumor Roundup] In those reports it states that Vidal will be paid $470,000 per week, which would make him the second-highest player at the club just behind Wayne Rooney. Vidal is a great box-to-box midfielder who has shone for Juve over the past few seasons, but is he that good? Although the numbers seem a little off and slightly extortionate, even for a player of Vidal’s quality, you have to say that United need to splash the cash in order to elevate themselves back to the upper echelons of the Premier League. That’s stating the obvious, but so far n ...
Already, Van Gaal's Manchester United has a very different feel to it Arturo Vidal and Angel Di Maria may be playing hard-to-get, but that will provide some of last season's much-maligned defenders and midfielders a stage to show what they can do. Arturo Vidal is looking ever likelier to stay at Juventus. Angel Di Maria is odds-on to elect for Paris St Germain over the Premier League. The likes of Arjen Robben and Bastian Schweinsteiger are perfectly happy where they are at Bayern Munich, thank you very much. And yet, despite Manchester United finding suitable midfield targets hard to attract this summer, in Louis Van Gaal they have found a manager supremely confident in making up for any shortfalls within his squad - an abundance of evidence for which has already been on display in the few short weeks he has been at the Red Devils helm. Van Gaal is, first and foremost, a coach. So while the prospect of the likes of Tom Cleverley filling a midfield role this season might fill some supporters with dread, al ...
Telegraph football journalist Mark Ogden claims reports regarding Arturo Vidal's move to Manchester United just won't go away - heightening the suspicion the Red Devils are set to make a move. The Chile World Cup star has been linked with a £37million switch to Old Trafford from Juventus this summer, with Louis Van Gaal keen to improve his box-to-box midfield options. But, according to Ogden, the Premier League club have told reporters they are not interested in the 27-year-old. Reports from Chile on Tuesday claimed the deal is all-but complete, and Ogden admitted it was hard to know where the truth lay. “The word from Manchester United is contradictory, and it has been for a few days,” he told Hawksbee and Jacobs . “The message we have been getting is not to take any notice of the reports because it’s not happening. “The noises coming out of Chile and Italy are so strong though that something may be going on behind the scenes. “We’ve been told there is no direct contact with Juventus. Obvi ...
Juventus and Chile midfielder Arturo Vidal has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United for weeks now, and after denying he was going nowhere, Juventus appeared to soften that stance on Monday when the club’s CEO Giuseppe Marotta is said that they will only sell Vidal if the midfielder asks to to go. Gazzetta dello Sport say that United are offering somewhere in the region of €50m to €60m for the 27-year-old dynamic midfielder, who has reportedly already agreed to a wage packet of €8m per season (net), which is double what he makes in Turin. Marotta told Sky Italia: ”We have clear ideas. We renewed [Vidal's] contract a few months ago just because we knew we could count on an important element. “We don’t want to sell Vidal, there are only rumors because he is a player among the best in the world. We never activated a clause to try to sell him – if he doesn’t show an intention to leave, our position won’t change.” By selling Vidal for what is a huge sum of money, Juventus w ...
Premier League, Bundesliga and La Liga sides are touring the world prepping for the start of club season, fanning the transfer fires with more rumour, gossip and news about what teams need and who's going where. Transfer Talk, of course, has them all ... Arturo a United no-go It's been a while since we talked about Arturo Vidal. OK, it's been only 48 hours, but that qualifies as "a while" for Transfer Talk. More importantly, we have it on very good authority that Vidal will not be playing for Manchester United. In fact, the Chliean striker currently tied up with Juventus told the world himself. Vidal was stopped in the Turin airport on his way home from holiday, where he essentially said I'm not going to United, but I don't know my future with Juventus, and I need to talk to manager Massimiliano Allegri. So in short, as it was aptly put in Gazzetta dello Sport, the doubts remain. ESPN FC TV's Julien Laurens gives us the latest. United are not the only rumoured landing spot for Vidal, who is set to talk wi ...

I've been somewhat dissapointed with Liverpool in this transfer market. Liverpool are about to sign Lovren for 16 mil pounds, but Man Utd are signing a better defender in Hummels for also 16 mil pounds. Liverpool also spent too much money on Lallana when Arsenal bought Sanchez for the same amount. I really hope that Liverpool improve the attack by adding a goalscoring midfielder. The only way I can see Liverpool winning the premier league and going far in the Champions League is if they sign either Reus or Griezmann. And one of Paul Pogba or Arturo Vidal.
Old Trafford side offer Juventus star a massive reason to consider a Premier League switch. Read more Manchester United FC news. Boss Louis Van Gaal is keen to add some creativity to his midfield and will hand the former Bayer Leverkusen man a massive £200k a week deal that would see Vidal earn the same as Robin Van Persie, with only England man Wayne Rooney being paid more at the Premier League outfit. Comments made by Juventus director Pavel Nedved would suggest that a move for Vidal was plausible with the former Czech Republic star stating temptingly; "Our strategy is clear; we want to keep all our best players, including Vidal and Pogba. "We don't want to sell anyone, especially Vidal. "Certainly, if there were a high bid for them, we'd have to think about it." Such a contract offer would c ...

Vidal not so soon? You might think Manchester United's new 750 million pound kit deal with Adidas verges on the egregious; Transfer Talk isn't one to judge, but it appears that United aren't keen to come across as easy meat in the transfer market. They're clearly keen to push through a deal with Juventus and Chile's indefatigable Arturo Vidal, but the Mirror says that it won't be that easy. Juventus are seeking 34 million pounds and Louis Van Gaal's new club has to be mindful that their new stash needs also to be distributed elsewhere; a move for Real Madrid's Angel Di Maria may be among those in the offing. The Star has plenty more on this, telling us that the kit cash will be invested post haste -- with Vidal, Di Maria and German star Mats Hummels, who was linked with an Old Trafford move earlier in the week, likely to be lured by United's polyester-fuelled millions. Van Gaal apparently hopes to lure them all to Old Trafford safely in time for the imminent new Premier League season.
Man Utd agree to £40m deal for Juventus star Arturo Vidal Manchester United are on the verge of launching a £40million bid for Arsenal target Arturo Vidal after Juventus named their price. The Chilean powerhouse is contracted to a long-term deal in Turin, but reports in Italy claim that Antonio Conte's side have told the Red Devils they won't accept anything less than £40m for their star man. Vidal is widely regarded as one of the best midfielders in the world, and new boss Louis Van Gaal is determined to partner him with £29million signing Ander Herrera as United look to compete for the Premier League title. The 27-year-old, who made the switch to Italy from Bayer Leverkusen in 2011, is open to a new challenge after helping Juventus win three back-to-back Serie A titles, and could be tempted by a lucrative move to Old Trafford. Arsenal are also keen on signing Vidal as they look to beat Liverpool to his compatriot Alexis Sanchez, and Arsene Wenger is prepared to match any offer made by the United hie ...
Juventus have told Manchester United that they will need to bid over 45 million pounds if the Premier League side are to sign Arturo Vidal, according to ESPN. Sources state United have picked up their interest in the player over the past few weeks, and Vidal himself is understood to be open to the idea. Arsenal are also seen to be in the running. Juventus, however, remain unwilling to sell their star player, while any negotiations are likely to be complicated as it will take an offer of over 45 million pounds to even make the Italian side consider the possibility. Vidal would represent a huge coup for United, given that he would be both the "marquee name" that the hierarchy crave, but also see a key position filled. The Red Devils are intent on a significant statement this summer, and are ready to spend over 150 million pounds. [Source: ESPN]
