For the first time since I became a diehard fan at 12 years old (after the '04 lockout), I doubted our team. My pessimism began when the Pittsburgh Penguins took a 3-1 series lead against the New York Rangers, during the semifinal round of the Stanley Cup playoffs. But on May 13th, 2014, I was proven wrong, and I pray to the hockey gods they will absolve me of my sins. After the New York Rangers defeated the regular season Metropolitan Division champions, the 'Guins, I am seeking forgiveness. As mentioned before, I’ve been a diehard fan since I was 12. Since then, I’ve seen our team transform from players like Michael Nylander, Martin Straka, Jaromir Jagr, Darius Kasparaitis, Jed Ortmeyer, Kevin Weekes, (the list goes on), to Brandon Dubinsky, Artem Anisimov, Brandon Prust, Chris Kreider, Marian Gaborik, Rick Nash, Derek Stepan, and of course the king, Henrik Lundqvist (Sam Rosen voice). Most recently, I've witnessed the trading of our beloved ‘Captain Cally,’ a NYR for 8 years, for NHL legend Mar ...

Russia has announced its roster for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. Alex Ovechkin, Evgeni Malkin and former New Jersey Devils sniper Ilya Kovalchuk highlight the 25 names unveiled by the host nation. The roster features 10 players currently playing in the Kontinental Hockey League in addition to 15 NHLers. Canadian NHL clubs will be well represented with the Montreal Canadiens' Andrei Markov and Alexei Emelin, the Edmonton Oilers Anton Belov in addition to Toronto Maple Leafs winger Nikolai Kulemin. The Russian team named 18-year-old Dallas Stars rookie Valeri Nichushkin to the roster but did not name 20-year-old Oilers forward Nail Yakupov. The complete Russian roster is as follows: Goalkeepers: Sergei Bobrovsky, Semyon Varlamov, Alexander Yeryomenko. Defenders: Anton Belov, Alexei Emelin, Andrei Markov, Evgeny Medvedev, Nikita Nikitin, Ilya Nikulin, Fedor Tyutin, Slava Voynov. Forwards: Artem Anisimov, Pavel Datsyuk, Denis Kokarev, Ilya Kovalchuk, Nikolai Kulemin, Evgeni Malkin, Valeri Nichus ...
Russia, are you serious? Nikolai Kulemin. Anton Belov. Artem Anisimov. Fedor Tyutin. Obviously no room for Alexander Semin on a star studded line up like that.

Jackets guaranteed no worse than No.19 with the Rangers pick... While the Rangers weren't particularly thrilled with a second-round exit in this year's Stanley Cup playoffs, the Blue Jackets have to be pleased. Last summer's trade of Rick Nash brought the Rangers' first-round pick in this NHL draft as part of a package that included Brandon Dubinsky, Artem Anisimov and Tim Erixon - all of whom made significant impacts in their first season with Columbus. Where that pick would fall in the draft order could only be determined when the Rangers were eliminated from the playoffs, and that occurred last night in Game 5 at TD Garden. The Bruins recorded a 3-1 win to knock out the Rangers in five games, a disappointing performance for a New York club that was tantalizingly close to the Stanley Cup Final a year ago. That means the Blue Jackets will pick no lower than No. 19 overall with the Rangers' selection, and with a possibility of moving up to the No. 18 spot if the Detroit Red Wings advance to the Western Co ...

Blue Jackets rally to beat Red Wings 3-2 By LARRY LAGE (AP Hockey Writer) | The Associated Press – 7 hours ago DETROIT (AP) -- The Columbus Blue Jackets had success on the ice and got some relatively good news off it. Vinny Prospal scored with 24.7 seconds left, capping a comeback that lifted Columbus to a 3-2 win over the Detroit Red Wings on Thursday night. The game took a frightening turn early in the second period when Blue Jackets center Artem Anisimov was taken off the ice on a stretcher after being struck in the head by Red Wings defenseman Kyle Quincey. Anisimov, a 24-year-old Russian, was alert and able to move when he was taken to Detroit Medical Center as a precaution because he said his head hurt. ''He's alert and stable,'' Blue Jackets coach Todd Richards said. ''Obviously, that's great news.'' Anisimov was skating toward the back of Detroit's net alongside Red Wings defenseman Ian White when he lost his balance as Quincey landed a blow to his head that didn't seem intentional. ''It's scary ...

Do some teams focus so much time and money on their top 2 lines that they neglect the muckers and grinders? The Rangers' penalty-killing unit ranks 19th in the League at 78.4 percent. Last season, it was a point of strength, as it finished fifth in the NHL at 86.2 percent. The Rangers have been lacking secondary strength after the offseason losses of Brandon Dubinsky, Artem Anisimov, Brandon Prust and Ruslan Fedotenko. Today, they traded Mike Rupp to the Wild.
The Mediocre (Thus Far) New York Rangers Forging an Identity By: Alex Csedrik Boy, I’ll tell ya—Glen Sather truly is a wizard when it comes to trades. The off-season’s steal of Rick Nash for Brandon Dubinsky, Artem Anisimov, prospect Tim Erixon, and a first-round pick is already paying dividends by giving the Rangers a dangerous attack. While this hasn’t yielded the expected results every game, they aren’t the same 1-0, 2-1-wins team they were last year. This is a team that, if need be (and when all the lines are running on all cylinders), can match firepower with the best of them. The latest flurry of moves includes the acquisition of Brandon Mashinter from the San Jose Sharks, and getting rid of the physically-imposing presence that didn’t seem to want to fight much that is Mike Rupp. One can argue that the years of pummeling have taken their toll on him, and he doesn’t want to concern himself much with what another few added years of that treatment will do. In exchange for Rupp, the ...

Craziness last night watching the few hockey games that were on. Parenteau, John Mitchell, Corey Potter, Chris Higgins, Manny Malhotra, Dale Weise, Lauri Korpikoski, Derek Morris and last but not least Chad Johnson.not, not that one. He picked up his first NHL shutout last night for the 'Yotes. Jason LaBarbara is his back up with Mike Smith being hurt. All those players and there were only 5 games on the schedule.
still breathing as Brandon Dubinsky poked one through in front to Artem Anisimov with 2:19 left in the third. Hawks still up, 3-2.
What to Watch For: Pens vs. Rangers: Team Scope: The New York Rangers gave up some quality pieces to land an even bigger one this past July. The Rick Nash saga ended on Broadway, as the Blueshirts acquired the scoring winger from Columbus in exchange for forwards Brandon Dubinsky and Artem Anisimov, defenseman Tim Erixon and a first-round draft pick. The reigning Atlantic Division Champions are looking to build on a 109-point performance in 2011-12 and hope that the acquisition of Nash will take them to the next level. During training camp, Nash slotted in on the right wing next to playmaking center Brad Richards (with young speedster Carl Hagelin completing the line). Nash never had an elite center during his nine seasons in Columbus and still scored at least 30 goals in seven of those campaigns, reaching 40 twice. It's intriguing to think of what he's capable of working with an elite talent like Richards. Certainly the most important offseason transaction for the Rangers was landing Nash, but he wasn’ ...

C Artem Anisimov on countryman Sergei Bobrovsky: “Very good goalie. He stops the puck, but I scored a couple nice goals on him.”
Blue Jackets frontlines put Nick Foligno and Brandon Dubinsky up front, with Derick Brassard between them, while Artem Anisimov would partner up with the explosive combo of Cam Atkinson and Ryan Johansen. For the Blue Jackets bluelines (defense is Blue Jackets best aspect) James Wisniewski and Jack Johnson, while Fedor Tyutin and Nikita Nikitin in the second line Then for starting goalie I choose Sergei Bobrovsky with Steve Mason in reserves. Mason has to earn starter status Go Blue Jackets!
New York Rangers 2013 Season Preview By: Alex Csedrik After an amazing regular season, the New York Rangers reached the Eastern Conference Finals, only to be ousted by their rivals, the New Jersey Devils. The major problem for the team last year was scoring, and it reared its ugly head in every one of the playoff series (and forced the Rangers to go to 7 games against teams that had no business hanging around that long—Ottawa and Washington). Enter Rick Nash. Exit Brandon Dubinsky (thank God!—he truly is untalented) and Artem Anisimov. In an Atlantic Division that is stacked, the Rangers are considered to be amongst the favorites by the general consensus of experts. Vegas odd-makers put the Pittsburgh Penguins as the team most likely to hoist the Cup. And let’s talk about why… Sidney Crosby and Evgeny Malkin. These are the two most dynamic players in the game right now. Malkin has usurped fellow countryman Alex Ovechkin as the second-best player in the game. This Penguins squad will not la ...
On July 23, 2012 General Manager Scott Howson made a deal with the New York Rangers that sent the Blue Jackets superstar Rick Nash to the Big Apple, in exchange for Tim Erixson, Artem Anisimov, Brandon Dubinksy, and a third round draft pick in this years draft.   Upon hearing the news it was hard not getting lost imagining the Rangers first line of Brad Richards, Marion Gaborik, and now Rick Nash. Pundits were quick to dismiss the trade as a win for New York, and another mediocre move by Howson, that was sure to leave the Blue Jackets crippled for another season.   What most seemed to forget was that Rick Nash has never produced more than 79 points in a season throughout his entire NHL career. In fact, in his 7 years in the NHL he has only produced more than 69 points once, in 08-09 as referenced above. Let’s assume for the sake of argument that had Rick Nash stayed another year with Columbus, he would have produced around 64 points (which is the average number of point from his last three seasons). T ...
Wow they really traded these NYR players to Columbus: Brandon Dubinsky, Artem Anisimov, and Tim Erixon.
Via - "The Rangers made the biggest trade-related splash of the offseason, acquiring Rick Nash from Columbus. But the cost was three young players -- forwards Artem Anisimov and Brandon Dubinsky, and defenseman Tim Erixon. Leading goal-scorer Marian Gaborik, who had shoulder surgery in June, has recovered and should be ready for the start of the season. In free agency, the team signed forwards Jeff Halpern, Taylor Pyatt, Arron Asham and Micheal Haley, while losing forwards Brandon Prust, Ruslan Fedotenko, John Mitchell and John Scott. On defense the team re-signed Stu Bickell, Steve Eminger and Anton Stralman; Michael Sauer (concussion symptoms) remains sidelined after missing most of last season." -Ant
Read: In Case You Need A Reminder January 7th, 2013 11:21 am During the offseason, the Rangers lost Brandon Prust to Montreal (where he signed a contract that 80% of readers are happy the Rangers didn’t match), Ruslan Fedotenko to the Flyers and John Mitchell to Colorado. The team lost Brandon Dubinsky, Tim Erixon, Artem Anisimov and their first round pick this year due to trade. To replace Fedotenko, the Rangers signed Taylor Pyatt. To replace John Mitchell, the Rangers signed Jeff Halpern. To replace Brandon Prust, the Rangers signed Arron Asham and Michael Haley. The Rangers also acquired Rick Nash via trade from the Blue Jackets.
New Jersey winger Ilya Kovalchuk is thrilled to get the opportunity to play alongside Detroit center Pavel Datsyuk for Russia's national team at the Euro Hockey Tour. "It's an honor to play with a center like Datsyuk," he said. "I personally consider Datsyuk the best center in the world, so there's great satisfaction and experience from playing alongside him." The pair have been training on the same line and there will be plenty of NHL talent on hand for Russia because of the lockout. Alex Ovechkin, Evgeni Malkin, Fedor Tyutin, Nikolai Kulemin, Alexei Emelin and Artem Anisimov will join Kovalchuk and Datsyuk on the team's roster.

To CBJ: Brandon Dubinsky, Artem Anisimov, Tim Erixon, 1st rounder. To NYR: Some mediocre prospect (Stephen Delisle), 3rd rounder, and oh right, Rick Nash. Moral of the story: I could build a better hockey team than Scott Howson.
Yeah! I have a player on the Blue Jackets again! Go B-Dub!
Curtis "my favorite" Martin will be inducted into the hall next weekend...on another note the NYR acquired Rick Nash for Artem Anisimov and Brandon Dubinsky...go JETS and go Rangers!
Rick Nash...officially a New York Ranger! That's awesome, but I can't help but feel a bit sad that Brandon Dubinsky was part of the trade to bring Nash to NY (along with Artem Anisimov, Tim Erixon and a 1st Round pick next year). Granted, the last two seasons hadn't been kind to Dube, but this was a guy that helped keep the Garden exciting after the strike ended, a very good player and an outstanding person. He'll be greatly least until Nash nets his first goal.
hopefully these guys can help CBJ get back on track to victory , and NY is stacked now lol
Not quite sure what to think about this trade. It is more than I thought Howson would get for Nash given the lunacy behind how he handled the whole situation. I still would have never traded Rick Nash.
Well it was going to happen sooner or later.
Start spreading the news, Rick Nash is heading to the Rangers! Brandon Dubinsky, Artem Anisimov, Tim Erixxon, and 2013 first rounder goes to Columbus. Now all the NHL and NHLPA has to do is hammer out a new CBA and we are set. Let's Go Rangers!
Wow ,rangers just acquired Rick Nash from Columbus for Artem Anisimov,Brandon Dubinski, Tim Errixon
Love getting Rick Nash; hate giving up Brandon Dubinsky and Artem Anisimov. Thanks for everything, boys, you'll always be New York Rangers to me.

A customer just told me things are not looking good for my husband , I told him I'm not married, and he said "umm artem anisimov" lmfaooo
What would it take to get Bobby Ryan? Artem Anisimov ,a first and a prospect?
OK, since it's NHL Entry Draft Day, it's time to make some trade predictions. Pointing and laughing is encouraged when these are proven wrong. I expect a bunch of big names to move for pretty significant returns. 1. Jordan Staal (Pittsburgh) to Carolina for Jamie McBain, Zach Boychuk, and pick Rick Nash (Columbus) to the Rangers for Brandon Dubinsky, Derek Stepan OR Artem Anisimov, pick and a 3rd rounder next year. 3. Negotiating rights to Ryan Suter (Nashville) to Philadelphia for a conditional pick this year (3rd round if he signs with Philly, 4th if he doesn't). 4. Bobby Ryan (Anaheim) to Philadelphia for James Van Riemsdyk, Erik Gustaffson, and pick And because I don't think the arrogant gasbag running the Toronto Maple Leafs can help himself...Roberto Luongo (Vancouver) to Toronto for Luke Schenn, James Reimer, Nazem Kadri, and pick
