PL PREVIEW FOR 13th September Arsenal - Man City 17:30 NST Arsenal won 18 of their first 22 Barclays Premier League fixtures against Manchester City, but have only won three of the last 12 (D4 L5). The Citizens have only won one of 17 previous Barclays Premier League games away at Arsenal; a 2-0 win in January 2013 (L11 D5). Indeed, that 2-0 win was also the only time Manchester City have scored more than once in 17 Premier League games at either Highbury or the Emirates. Danny Welbeck could become only the third player in Premier League history to play for both Arsenal and Manchester United (Mikael Silvestre, Robin Van Persie). The Gunners have won more Premier League games in September than any other Premier League side (48) and also have the best points/game average (2.02). Arsene Wenger's side are unbeaten in 19 Premier League games at the Emirates Stadium (W14 D5) and have won their last four in a row there. Arsenal have conceded four goals from only seven shots on target faced in the top-flight this ...

Arsene Wenger has offered tremendous service to Arsenal over the years. His ability to win trophies without breaking the bank like other managers in Europe is unmatched. This is basically due to his ability to identify and nurture talents like those of George Weah, the only African to have attained world player of the year, Thierry Henry, whose career was resuscitated by Wenger, Robin Van Persie, Dennis Bergkamp, Jack Wilshere,Theo Walcott etc. However all this credit is at risk of going down the drain if he doesn't know the right time to exit just like many people in different positions. Arsene should work hard to win FA cup this season as his farewell trophy.
A man who divides opinion, but for me Olivier Giroud is one of the worst forwards Arsene Wenger has signed. Of course, we’ve had players Marouane Chamakh, Park Chu-Young, Nicklas Bendtner and Gervinho but they were never been our main strikers. Since Arsene Wenger joined Arsenal in September of 1996, the main strikers at Arsenal have been Ian Wright, Dennis Bergkamp, Nicholas Anelka, Thierry Henry, Nwankwo Kanu, Davor Suker, Robin Van Persie, Emmanuel Adebayor, Eduardo and now Olivier Giroud. He’s not even in the same league as the rest of those players, and the list includes the biggest wanker that is Adebayor. He’s not good enough. He wouldn’t get into any other Top 10 side, nevermind any Top 4 team. Manchester City have Aguero, Jovetic, Dzeko and Negredo, Liverpool have Suarez and Sturridge, Chelsea even have Torres and Eto’o who are past it but they’re still better than Giroud. In a nutshell, his ability to miss the simplest of chances has cost Arsenal dearly this season. With a top class ...
FOOTBALL NOTES: 1. Sincere congratulations to Arsene Wenger on his 1,000th game in charge at Arsenal. Seeing his downcast face on the sidelines always leads to eruptions of mirth among watching football fans. I give him undiluted praise for his constant moaning and excuses, which always give us something to laugh at. For bringing us a smile you deserve respect, Arsene. We'll miss you when you finally quit. 2. Ironically, Manchester United manager David Moyes must be delighted that his top striker Robin Van Persie is injured. Moyes can use it as a (feeble) excuse for when United get thrashed by Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter finals, something that would happen whether Van Persie is fit or not. I have to admit I am almost, almost that is, feeling sorry for him. United have been crawling on the ground half-dead all season but Bayern will supply the final bullet to put them out of their misery. 3. Personally, this weekend I cannot win. A draw might be best. I am talking about my hometown team C ...
Exclusive: Arsenal to Sell Pair Ahead Of £18m Bid to Re-Sign Robin Van Persie as Wenger Prepares to Make Room for Man United Striker.Arsene Wenger is preparing a summer bid to re-sign Man United striker Robin Van Persie following reports that the Dutchman isn’t happy with life at Old Trafford under boss David Moyes. CaughtOffside understands that Arsenal manager Wenger is to launch a bid in the region of £18m for 30 year old marksman Van Persie who appears open to the prospect of a move back to the Emirates Stadium. Van Persie is one of a number of senior Man United stars who have questioned the ability of David Moyes to lead the Premier League title holders and the very real prospect of failure to secure a Champions League berth will further fuel speculation of a possible summer departure. In his first season at Man United Van Persie scored 30 goals in all competitions and was a key member of a side Sir Alex Ferguson led to a domestic title but 2013/14 has proven a real calamity and a move back to Ar ...
According to Tancredi Palmeri(who was the first one to report Vidić to Inter and one of the first people to report Van Persie to Utd) Robin Van Persie's agent has held talks with Arsene Wenger for a possible return to the emirates.Right now Van Perise doesn't want anything else but a Return to Arsenal in the summer. David Moyes hasen't closed the door for the move and would let Van Persie leave for the right price and Arsene Wenger has told Can Perise that he will do whatever it takes to bring him back to the Emirates. As an Arsenal fan, after his that crazy celebration after scoring against arsenal this season,i don't want him back. He can Fu*k off. -pj

Spurs' top-four challenge has been rocked after their £30million record-buy Erik Lamela was ruled out for another six weeks. Manchester United target Miralem Pjanic is set to stay with Roma. Old Trafford star strongly linked with amazing Emirates Stadium return in a £15 move Man United striker Robin Van Persie has been linked with a truly shocking possible return to Arsenal with the Daily Mail claiming that Old Trafford boss David Moyes is planning a mass summer clear-out. 30 year old Dutch forward Van Persie is said to have been upset at seeing Sir Alex Ferguson retire at the end of last season and is now considering his future at Man United, with the veteran manager's presence at the Premier League side one of the main reasons he was willing to make the controversial switch from the Emirates Stadium in the first place. Van Persie is also said to be unsettled in his new surroundings and misses London and is none too impressed with Man United's new training regime and should Man United manage to tie Wayne Rooney down to a new long term contract they could be willing to sell the experienced marksman. Arsene Wenger is said to be ready to welcome Van Persie back, despite his age, and would be o ...
TRANSFER MILL: According to various sources, Arsenal and Schalke have reached an agreement in the terms of the fee. However when Arsene Wenger was asked about the ongoing transfer he was quick to try and cool down the speculation. However, it is believed that the transfer would be in a region of 36-38 million pounds. After Lukas Podolski's great performance today in the match against Coventry City, He is also sure to stay at the club with many thinking that he could be used as a makeweight. Arsene Wenger also sees Draxler's future postition as a striker and wants to mold him the same way that he turned Robin Van Persie into the striker he is today. Arsenal fans, what are your thoughts on this transfer. Comment your opinions down below and make sure to smash that LIKE button. For now, feast your eyes on some of Julian Draxler's skills.

Arsene Wenger Rules Out Selling Any More Arsenal Stars To Man United Gunners boss won't sell his stars to United. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has insisted that he will never sell another one of his stars to Manchester United again, talkSPORT reports. The long suffering boss let star striker Robin Van Persie move to Old Trafford in the summer of 2012 and the Dutch ace immediately paid back his £24m fee by firing the Red Devils to the Premier League title. And furthermore, the 30-year-old then punished his former club more by notching the winner against them in Sunday's clash at Old Trafford. Wenger later claimed that he did not want to part with Van Persie but the fee on offer was just too good to turn down and Rene Meulensteen, then a coach at with United, helped push the deal through. And now Wenger has seen the error of his ways and has categorically told new United boss David Moyes that he can forget about getting his hands on anymore of his coveted stars in the near future. "It was a special circum ...

Wenger admits £24 million man is ‘an Arsenal player’ as stunning move on Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has fuelled talk that he could make a move for Manchester United star Robin Van Persie, by admitting he see’s him still as a Gunner. The Dutchman, who left the Emirates for United in 2012, has scored in his last four encounters between the sides – two for each team. Wenger signed Van Persie from Feyenoord in 2004 and said: ‘It’s still strange to see him at United. For me he is an Arsenal player
Crystal Palace V ARSENAL 11:45am (GMT) Crystal Palace's interim manager Keith Millen has a tough debut in his hands, Ian Holloway parted company with Palace by mutual consent earlier this week. “Arsene Wenger and Robin Van Persie thought you'd like this...
I now see why Arsene Wenger sold Robin Van Persie. My only regret was he joining Man United and helping them to their 20th domestic title. After one season he is now a shadow of himself and the injury concerns has started again. It is very hard to believe that united have only won twice in six EPL games and lost half of the number of games played so far. This shows that an anti-climax is gradually setting in.
Better never than late. It was back to Premier League business after the International break as several managers put forward their claims to be the first sacking of the season (did you know that aside from Arsene Wenger no other current Premier League manager has achieved 3 years in his job), Ashley Young made a bid for the British 10 metre board Olympic squad and Jonjo Shelvey was man of the match for both teams at the Liberty Stadium. Manchester United got their title defence back on track after defeat at Anfield with a 2-0 win over Crystal Palace. Although still not convincing in their performance United were comfortable throughout with Palace not managing a single shot on target. Robin Van Persie came close with a typically brilliant chest-down from a Wayne Rooney through ball but his volley hit the bar. Ashley Young was rightly booked for simulation as he attempted to con the referee by initiating contact with defender Kagisho Dikgacoi but a minute into first half injury time the two clashed agai ...

BREAKING: Arsenal Plan Stunning £32m Bid to Sign AC Milan Starlet Stephan El Shaarawy. Arsene Wenger ready to launch record breaking bid to bring in Italian as ideal Robin Van Persie replacement. Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has been given the green light by the Gunners board to launch a £32m bid to sign AC Milan starlet Stephan El Shaarawy after it emerged that the San Siro side are ready to consider offers for the highly rated Italian international. Amid growing interest in the 20 year old Rossoneri vice-president Adriano Galliani was at pains to admit that no AC Milan player was ‘unsellable’ and having seen the likes of Thiago Silva and Zlatan Ibrahimovic leave the Serie A side last summer there is a great deal of speculation that a big money offer for the young forward could prove successful. -AB7
Robin Van Persie speaking to Goal.com: “I have been lucky to work with many good managers,” Van Persie continued. “Bert van Marwijk at Feyenoord and Netherlands, Marco van Basten and Louis van Gaal at Netherlands and Arsene Wenger at Arsenal. I learned something from every single one of them, yet the greatest thing about working under Sir Alex last season was the level of expertise.” Mate last time I checked wenger was the one who turned you from a failing youngster into a worldclass striker BUT apparently it SAF’s “expertise” that is the reason you have been playing so well and you only learned ‘something from wenger’ and your development was all SAF……
Arsenal are mulling over a £15milion move for Manchester United winger Luis Nani, according to reports. The Daily Star claims Gunners chief Arsene Wenger is an admirer of the Portuguese international, and is ready to swoop for the unsettled 26-year-old following Sir Alex Ferguson’s departure. Nani was unable to hold down a regular starting spot at Old Trafford last season, featuring just 21 times in all competitions. Indeed, his biggest moment in the Red Devils campaign was a controversial red card in the Champions League defeat to Real Madrid. Ferguson had always backed the former Sporting Lisbon starlet to the hilt at ManchesterUnited, but new boss David Moyes could see the temperamental 62-cap international differently. Wenger has money to spend atArsenal this summer, according to the report , and is poised to swoop for Nani. The Gunners will also hope previous dealings with United can help make a move for the player run smoothly, with Robin Van Persie swapping theEmirates Stadium for the Premier Le ...

Why this Arsenal target is MORE than worth his £20m price-tag . I do realise that the transfer window has barely just slammed shut, but I can’t be the only Arsenal fan disappointed with his club’s actions in the transfer market. Arsene Wenger told fans that he’d to his best to bring players in, but didn’t really make any serious inroads. The only new addition to this Arsenal squad was Nacho Montreal, an effective looking Spanish left-back who should deputise for Kieran Gibbs with some degree of efficiency. Whilst I like the look of the Spaniard, you’ll excuse me for not getting overly excited. After all, it strikes me that the area that Arsenal should most be looking to improve, is their strike-force. Whilst Manchester United have a wealth of options upfront (included ex-Arsenal star Robin Van Persie), the Gunners only really have Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott (and perhaps Lukas Podolski and Gervinho). This is a little unnatural for a club that is famed for its attacking resources. One player ...
POPULAR SIDE: Am wondering, with all these problems of Arsenal, if Arsene Wenger had the opportunity to bring back 1 of these 3 players, who do you think he should bring back to add some precision to the Arsenal team ? Fabregas, Alex Song or Robin Van Persie?
At the start of the season, Arsene Wenger had claimed that the signings of Lukas Podolksi and Oliver Giroud would compensate for the loss of Robin Van Persie.
Is it the end of the road for Arsene Wenger at Arsenal? 4 Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is under- pressure after the clubs exit from the Capitol One at Fourth tier Bradford City. With every passing season without a trophy more and more questions are asked about Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger and his grip on the club. It almost feels like déjà vu writing this article, because last season the same questions were being asked about whether Wenger could turn Arsenal’s season around. Bailed out Last season Arsenal were struggling badly, before Robin Van Persie hit top form and bailed the Gunners out. The Dutchman’s goals made sure that Wenger’s men finished in the top four, when it looked highly-unlikely. However, this season Arsenal don’t have the goals of the prolific Van Persie to fall-back on. It doesn’t look like they currently have anybody capable of being that white knight this season. That must really worry Wenger and Gunners fans. Legend Without doubt Arsene Wenger is a managerial legend. He is on ...
Arsene Wenger always knew he would shift the Barclays Premier League title battle in favour of Manchester United when he let Robin Van Persie leave Arsenal for Old Trafford..
"Robin Van Persie made the right choice to go to Old Trafford." - Arsene Wenger
I been giving a lot of thought about my support for Arsenal. Of late I am even embarrassed to watch their games. This team has been giving me nothing but heartbreak for the past four seasons. I am now convinced that Arsene Wenger is no longer the right man to take us forward. We built stadium, did not buy quality players and now that we have the resources, we still are not competitive. Man U endured financial pressure when they were extending Old Trafford but inflow of trophies never ceased. We lost many good players like Thierry Henry, Ashley Cole, Alex Song, Cesc Fabregas, Gael Clichy, Samir Nasri, Adebayor, Kolo Toure, Emmanuel Eboue, Bendtner, Carlos Vela and Robin Van Persie. The common denominator in all these players is that they all played for Arsenal and after leaving, they went on to do much better in their new clubs. Infact 95% of them went on to win silverware. We get a hiding from a 3rd division team in Bradford City. Swansea fancy their chances against us in a replay. No one fears us anymore ...
i can't understand why arsene wenger transfer Robin Van Persie to Manchester United. The guy is terrifying unfront of goal post.
As the Transfer window has recently opened, Arsene Wenger has been given £70 million to spend on rebuilding the current Arsenal squad. Players like Johan Djourou, Sebastein Squillaci and Marouane Chamakh are now moving on, leaving spaces for new professionals to enter the club. In the last few years, the Gunners have been letting key players go; Samir Nasri, Geal Clichy, Casc Fabregas and Robin Van Persie being the latest of the stars to go out the door. Although Wenger has brought in players to replace them, they haven't been of the same standard, players like Gervinho, Arshavin and Chamakh haven't adapted to the Premier League meaning Arsenal have gone eight years without a trophy! Which is an extremely long time for a top class club! As the fans become more and more frustrated with the running of the club, Wenger becomes more worried about the signings. He needs to bring in top players that have already made a name for themselves and can preform highly at Europe and in England, for example Santi Cazor ...
Arsene Wenger is hoping the fact that he sold striker Robin Van Persie to Manchester United last summer will help him land 26-year-old winger Nani from Sir Alex Ferguson's side. (Daily Mirror)
A £17m solution to Arsenal’s lack of authority upfront: After being linked to Dutch striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar for a number of weeks, only to have him sign a new contract with Schalke, I can’t help but wonder where Arsene Wenger stands when it comes to a new Arsenal striker. Does he have a list of potential additions or is he scrabbling around as we speak, attempting to find a player who has the quality to improve this Arsenal squad. Because one thing’s for sure: the Gunners need to improve in this area. Arsene Wenger brought Olivier Giroud from Montpellier last summer to attempt to fix the gap left by Robin Van Persie. Whatever way you look at it, this move was a failure. Giroud looks like a good player, making up for his lack of mobility with aerial prowess, but he’s not a world-beater like RVP was. The Gunners have taken a big step down and neither Theo Walcott, nor Lukas Podolski have been able to step up and provide the goal-threat the club sorely needs. Then there’s Gervinho, who looks l ...

Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, is yet again experiencing a poor start to the new Premiership football season in England and with it, certainly one hopes, the final full recognition that after 16 years it is time for change when not only is the team changing but also it appears standards are dropping. Last season, even as I called on Wenger to leave the post and move upstairs into the boardroom, where his financial background could be useful, many Arsenal fans were critical as the team finally finished third with the last kick of the season and in the last match, a 3-2 win away to West Bromwich Albion ensuring some saving grace…an automatic Champions League spot again. But while last season, goals from Robin Van Persie, then Arsenal captain, masked the inefficiencies and many shortcomings of this team, his subsequent and unforgivable sale to Manchester United has brought home reality to most, who doubted my thoughts last season. The fact is, having watched the writing on the wall last season and with 11 ...
• No wing-men for Wenger cripples Arsenal’s top 4 hopes: Rsi Podolski and Walcott both carping on about central striker roles Arsene Wenger is among the wise old men of the football game. Le Professor is not only hailed as a master of tactics, but of spotting, developing and creating world-beaters. This is why it is hard to understand why his own players are unable to see his vision, and more importantly, choose to question it openly. Lukas Podolski and Theo Walcott have both been carping on about central striker roles. Yet, all the good work against Fulham came from the wings. At the heart of a classic Wenger team is wing-play and this is where Arsenal have been most vulnerable and lacking. Consider all the great Arsenal talent of the past – from the wing- backs of the likes of Ashley Cole and Gael Clichy, to the greatest hitmen in recent footballing lore, Thierry Henry and Robin Van Persie, the wings were it all began. In the case of Henry, he continued to cut a swate across the front- line, from ...

Frustrated Arsenal fans accused the board on Thursday of "putting profit before performance" after enduring another trophyless season at the English Premier League soccer club and the departure of striker Robin Van Persie. Chief Executive Ivan Gazidis told shareholders that soccer's "pointless spending race" was ending and tried to reassure them that Arsenal would have the financial resources in the next two years to compete with the best. "We can and we will return the club to winning trophies and drive it to new heights," said Gazidis, flanked by manager Arsene Wenger and American owner Stan Kroenke at a fractious annual shareholder meeting at the Emirates Stadium.
Wenger linked to Dutch goal machine Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is ready to slug it out with Spurs and Liverpool for the highly talented Klaas-Jan Huntelaar. The Frenchman has already ordered his worldwide network of scouts to find him a world-class striker in the January transfer window, as Olivier Giroud has not yet found his feet as Robin Van Persie's replacement. And the Frenchman, like Andre Villas-Boas and Brendan Rodgers is in awe of the Dutch hitman's strike-rate, he has already netted six goals in eleven games for German outfit Schalke 04 after grabbing over 40 in 60 plus appearances last term. Huntelaar has also been linked with a £15million move to Chelsea after making it clear in recent statements that he hasn't decided on remaining with the Bundesliga outfit. Wenger intends to steal a march on his rivals by having his scouts spy on the 29-year-old as Holland travel to Romania for a World Cup qualifier. Why Song and Arsenal are big losers in Barcelona transfer “I was ready to commit my future to the club. All I wanted were talks about a new contract but each time we were due to sit down, the club postponed it. I was fobbed off." - Alex Song Alex Song laid it bare. No matter how they slice it, the Arsenal board have again been caught out by their own policy regarding new contracts. Just as the Robin Van Persie saga was allowed to develop last season and as they're confronted by Theo Walcott's situation now, blame for Song's move to Barcelona lays at the feet of the Gunners board. Arsene Wenger made the claim last week that he could afford to lose Song because of the depth of his midfield. So why, barely days later, did we have Rennes GM Pierre Dreossi talking up Arsenal's interest in Yann M'Vila? Or today's coverage of Wenger's interest in Newcastle United midfielder Yohan Cabaye? Robin Van Persie's transfer to MAN UTD made me realize the FACT i never wanted to,that being..WORLD ORDER is changing in football. From a neutral's point of view what i viewed missing in UNITED was a classy experienced CENTRE MIDFIELDER who would be able to make up for Scholsey n it was exiting to see UNITED keeping tabs on Joao Moutinho...for Arsenal all that i was wishing, was to Persie lead the amazing bunch of players that Arsene Wenger was starting to assemble this term. But the change in WORLD ORDER is that HUGE traditional INSTITUTIONS like UNITED are now surrendering to the pressure of winning SILVERWARE...bt in the process creating nothing other than COMMOTION so where a little patience would have provided us with 2 BEAUTIFUL n STRONG ENGLISH sides..now we are left with a Top Heavy UNITED and an ARSENAL team spearheaded in attack by 2 DEBUTANTS in the Premier League. The far bigger QUESTION than to whether RVP will perform in UNITED or not is that..What about the IDEOLOGIES of Sir Alex Ferguson whic ...
Arsenal Still In With A Chance To Sign Llorente. Athletic Bilbao’s president Josu Urrutia has admitted that he can’t keep his top star Fernando Llorente at the club against his own will, but has declared that the Arsenal target will only leave if the buyout clause is met by a club. Arsenal’s manager Arsene Wenger will probably be looking to put the money the Gunners will get for Robin Van Persie to work fast, and the buyout clause of £28million could be met by Arsenal if they add just a little to the fee they will get from the sale of the Dutch turncoat to Manchester United. “If the player does not really want to be at this club, [someone] has to pay his buyout clause,” Urrutia told Spanish newspaper El Confidencial. Arsenal’s team problems were almost rendered obsolete after the Gunners brought in Giroud, Podolski and Cazorla, but Robin Van Persie’s departure now leaves the French manager with a new set of problems to deal with, especially given the fact that the Gunners were unable to off ...
Robin Van Persie to Manchester United: Why It's Not All Bad News for Arsenal Robin Van Persie is set to leave Arsenal for Manchester United after the two clubs agreed terms, following months of speculation and rumours, according to Arsenal.com. It's a world of hurt for Arsenal fans like myself, as we've now lost another key player to add to the departures of Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri last summer. It's not the first time there's been speculation surrounding one of Arsenal's best players, with Arsene Wenger stating that he's confident of keeping the player(s), but a sale ensues nonetheless. The Van Persie departure, though, is one where fans feel especially betrayed. After season upon season of countless injuries, Arsenal has stuck by the Dutchman, keeping faith in him and not cutting their losses on the player despite his frustrating injury record. Until this past season, Van Persie has never shown his true potential—and it's upsetting for Arsenal supporters that after his first full, fit campaign wi ...

Robin Van Persie: Evil Sleeper Agent for Arsene Wenger or great signing willing to take Man United to the title again?
"Robin Van Persie pindah ke Manchester United dengan transfer 20 juta pounds " Robin Van Persie is closing in on a sensational £20million-plus move after Arsenal officially began negotiations with Manchester United. The Mirror can reveal the two clubs spent Tuesday night talking about a deal which could now be pushed through before the Premier League kick-off this weekend. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is likely to settle on a fee of just above £20m as United prepare to increase their offer for the Dutch forward, who is currently on international duty but won't be in the starting line-up when Holland play Belgium on Wednesday night. It is understood the clubs are very close to agreement on a fee. Fergie made direct contact with Wenger earlier in the week to try to push the deal through after weeks of posturing. The clubs are likely to find a middle ground which means it is highly possible Van Persie will be on the move and will therefore not be involved in Arsenal’s opening game against Sunderland. Va ...
These are the stories making the headlines in the papers and online… Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has spoken directly to his Arsenal counterpart Arsene Wenger to try and ensure a new £20m bid for striker Robin Van Persie, 29, is a success. (Daily Mail)
Arsene Wenger should let Robin Van Persie go to Manchester United for £20M and Javier Hernandez (Chicharito) to move to Arsenal as part of the deal
Alex Ferguson is a G having a back door meeting with Arsene Wenger about Robin Van Persie lol
10 reasons why Arsenal should sell Robin Van Persie 1. Arsene Wenger tends to get lucky when he sells. Whenever his big-name stars decide to leave, it usually signals a decline in their form. Arsenal pocket the money and the player never reaches their Arsenal form again. We’re discounting younger players, such as Cesc Fabregas, here. 2. A sulking striker is no good for anyone. Ask any Liverpool fan who witnessed Fernando Torres’ latter days at Anfield. Having somebody who doesn’t want to be there ambling around up front annoys the fans, disrupts the rest of the squad and doesn’t get results. 3. He’s injury prone You’ve been quite understandably happy to overlook this, Gooners, but the fact remains that he is susceptible to a fairly regular injury layoff. He’s hardly likely to start getting injured less as he heads towards 30. 4. He was getting booed… or not Some say he was booed during Arsenal’s friendly against Cologne, some say he wasn’t. The very fact it’s up for discussion shows ...
Alex Ferguson goes straight to Arsene Wenger in an attempt to get Robin Van Persie -
Robin Van Persie: Transfer Timeline Will he, or won't he? Robin Van Persie poised for sensational Arsenal transfer u-turn A few weeks ago, Robin Van Persie appeared determined to leave the Emirates Stadium this summer. With Manchester City, Manchester United and Juventus all vying for the signature of last season's Premier League top scorer, the 28-year-old Dutchman's future looked like it would be played out anywhere but North London. Arsene Wenger has always remained positive about Arsenal's chances of retaining the services of their influential captain, though, even after the loss of key players like Samir Nasri and Cesc Fabregas in seasons gone by. History - so the Frenchman said - is not about to repeat itself. Now, having confirmed the signing of Spanish attacking midfielder Santi Cazorla from Malaga earlier today, his arrival continues an impressive summer in the transfer window for the Gunners, following up the capture of strikers Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud. Turkey midfielder Nuri Sahin rem ...
Arsene Wenger appears set to change a habit of a lifetime as he continues his club’s spending spree in pursuit of an end to a silverware drought that has lasted seven long seasons. The hope is that by bringing in further new talents Robin Van Persie may change his mind and sign a new contract and if indeed the North London does manage to bag this trio then the Gunners may well have a squad that can once again challenge for major honours. The Daily Mirror believe that Arsenal’s £20m signing of Santi Cazorla will be announced next week and moves to bring in Nuri Sahin from Real Madrid on loan are also well advanced. A move to bring in Dutch right back Gregory van der Wiel would be sensible given the injury problems Wenger has had in the full-back area of his squad. Last term Arsenal saw Carl Jenkinson, Kieran Gibbs and Andre Santos all spend time out injured however Bacary Sagna was more in the wars than most, suffering two broken legs during the campaign.
Oh, what a wonderful move for Arsenal! Arsenal officially signed Santi Cazorla for 18 million pounds with four-year congract and brought Nuri Sahin on a season-long loan deal. It seemed that Arsene Wenger and Arsenal showed their wills and intentions to fight for the trophies. Also, addition of Cazorla and Sahin indicts a change in Robin Van Persie's behavior as well. I hope further addition of Cazorla and Sahin to lead Van Persie to sign the extension contract and guide Arsenal to the trophies.
Arsenal ready to spend £40m Arsene Wenger is ready to take his spending for the summer to over £40million for the summer — whether Robin Van Persie stays or leaves the club. Arsenal are now confident of landing £16million Malaga winger Santi Corzola and will make a bid in the next 48 hours. Cazorla, 27, who played for Spain twice at Euro 2012, is keen to join the Gunners and would become the club’s third signing of the summer. Lukas Podolski arrived from Cologne for £11m and Montpellier striker Olivier Giroud joined for £12.8m. But before watching his team score two late goals to win their first tour of the Far East 2-1 against a Malaysia XI, Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis told Wenger he could continue to chase more targets over the next two weeks.

The first big transfer of the summer was agreed in April when Arsenal snapped up German striker Lukas Podolski from Koln. After a season in which the North London club relied heavily on Robin Van Persie for goals, Podolski will be a welcome addition to Arsene Wenger's squad. As he showed in yesterday's game against Denmark, Podolski should be a real threat in the Premier League. The German likes to drift out wide to the left before arriving late into the box. With the attacking players Arsenal have at their disposal, this should make Podolski extremely hard for defenders to pick up.

Van Persie to Juve? Don't bet on it! Wenger wagers a chocolate bar that striker won't move to inferior Serie A The Arsenal manager's really sticking his neck out on this one Sweet on you! Robin Van Persie with manager Arsene Wenger Kent Gavin / Daily Mirror Arsene Wenger has insisted Robin Van Persie will not move to Juventus because Serie A is rubbish. And he has bet an Italian journalist a chocolate bar his captain will stay in North London. The Dutch striker is out of contract next summer and has yet to sign a £130,000-a-week new deal on offer at the Emirates. But Wenger has told Italian newspaper La Repubblica that his captain will not leave this summer. "He will stay at Arsenal," he stated. "There is no reason why a top player, a big champion would want a move to Serie A in terms of the prestige of the League, the level of play or financial considerations. If he moves there I will buy you a Caramello."

Wow.Anzhi want to pay £45million pounds for Robin Van Persie. In my own opinion, Arsene Wenger should sell and get two excellent midfielders to help Podolski. Anyway, glad Chamakh is going and will be replaced with playmaker, Ljajic.
According to this morning’s Daily Mirror, Manchester City are preparing to ‘play hardball’ and only want to offer Arsenal £15 million for Robin Van Persie. Fifteen million quid?!?! Guys, according to espnsoccernet.com, "City are said to be willing to offer Robin Van Persie of Arsenal Fc more than £250,000 a week, while Anzhi are reportedly offering over £300,000 a week tax-free". So to me the likely hood of arsenal winning anything (even a spoon) in the next few years is very unlikely, so me thinks he should use one stone to kill two birds. Go to a higher paying club(earn more money, who doesn't want more money anyway), at the same time win a solid trophy (not the Emirates cup). It has happened to several other Arsenal players. e.g Thiery Henry, Cesc Fabregas, Gael Clichy, Samir Nasri, Kolo Tore. To name a few. If na me ppl chei, i don run far tey tey, see the kin money wen dem wan pay the guy a week!!! Besieds Arsenal no dey ready to win anything, so long as Arsene Wenger will always keep on buying under developed playes and wanting to "build" up, no way for him, cos he will continue to "build" up other serious minded clubs will come and pick them up. That's my take what do u guy ...

So I woke up to find out that Manchester City won the E.P.L . . . . ummm okay. Congratulations QPR for a game it seems was quite well fought and remaining just above the relegation cut. Indeed you deserve another season in the Premiership. City . . . it took over £ 300 Million British Pounds to secure only by the last minutes a goal that afforded you the same amount of points United had this season. So go on and celebrate the rain after 44 years of drought. Indeed you also deserve a drink. Oh one more thing : dont forget to put that one too on Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan's tab United . . . Seeing that it cost one team that much ^ to secure the same amount of points as you and a couple 8 extra goals after so long, I need not tell you that I'm still the proud fan that i always will be.
