According to Premier Injuries Ltd, Arsenal are the only club to have lost more days to injury since the start of the season, at 360, than United, who stand at 339. It's been just a few weeks since Arsene Wenger's own injury crisis seemed to keep getting worse rather than better, bringing to a head much so much discussion about a long-standing criticism of the French manager. Then, ESPN FC reported that Arsenal were still looking into whether their recovery and training methods were an issue, and if more needed to change. Now, the wonder is whether it is the same with Van Gaal. Are these 39 injuries just bad luck? Is there something deeper at play? Was this preventable? Is it really, as Van Gaal put it, "unbelievable"? The injury to Daley Blind is yet another setback. But is there something deeper at play in Manchester? As with Arsenal, of course, the very question is hugely complicated. A lot can influence any one injury, from the number of minutes recently played, to the angle of contact. The manner of M ...
Arsenal ‘want Pep Guardiola to replace Arsene Wenger as manager’ Metro Sport Reporter for Metro.co.ukSaturday 1 Nov 2014 8:28 am 247 Arsenal 'will make approach for Guardiola to replace Wenger'Arsenal are keen on hiring Pep Guardiola to replace Arsene Wenger (Picture: Getty) Arsenal are ready to make a move for Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola at the end of next season as they plan for life after Arsene Wenger. The Frenchman’s future with the Gunners has been subject of speculation this week with both Carlo Ancelotti and Paul Clement being eyed up as potential successors. But the Evening Standard says Guardiola has emerged as a more serious option and Arsenal will look to move for him in 2016. That’s when Guardiola has apparently ear-marked leaving Bayern for a new challenge, with the Premier League looking his obvious destination. Arsenal would have competition to bag him but the Spaniard has made no secret of his admiration for the North London club. If a deal could be agreed, Wenger would most ...
In an exclusive extract from a new book about Pep Guardiola, we reveal how the Bayern Munich manager pinpointed key weaknesses in Arsene Wenger's side to knock them out of Europe
SPORTS UPDATE: Germany captain Philipp Lahm has retired from international football after leading his side to victory at the World Cup in Brazil. The 30-year-old Bayern Munich defender, who can also play in midfield, played 113 times for Germany. New Real Madrid signing Toni Kroos has voiced his admiration for Pep Guardiola and has stressed that the Bayern Munich coach has helped him become a better player. Kroos worked under Guardiola at Bayern during the 2013-14 campaign and was temporarily benched by the Former Barcelona boss shortly after the winter break. Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere made an early start to his pre-season preparations after he returned to training three days before most of his team-mates. Wilshere's return comes days after photographs of him with a cigarette in his mouth while on holiday in Las Vegas were published by the Daily Mail - and were said to have earned him a reprimand from Manager Arsene Wenger. The 22 year old posted a picture to his Instagram account which showed him ...
The agent of Bayern Munich striker Mario Mandzukic has confirmed that he will reveal who is in the driving seat to sign his client on Wednesday. Premier League duo Arsenal and Chelsea have both been heavily linked with the 28-year-old, who scored twice at the World Cup in Brazil before Croatia were eliminated in the group stages. Mandzukic is all but certain to leave the Allianz Arena before the start of next season, and according to his agent, Ivan Cvjetkovic, Wednesday could provide the English sides with some vital information in their pursuit for the striker. According to the Express, Cvjetkovic told Calciomercato.com: “Are we interested in going to Inter? At the moment, I can't give you any answers. "However, there could be some new developments this coming Wednesday or Thursday." Mandzukic is said to be keen on securing European football for next season after being told by Bayern manager Pep Guardiola that he is surplus to requirements at the German champions. Arsene Wenger is desperate to add ano ...
Arsenal & Chelsea want one of world's top 3 strikers in Mario Mandzukic. Arsenal and Chelsea are reportedly chasing one of the top three centre-forwards in the world and will only be able to land him because Pep Guardiola knows nothing about strikers. This is according to former Croatia manager Igor Stimac, who said that he believes Mario Mandzukic has very few rivals in the striker position. Arsenal Manager Arsene Wenger has reportedly flown out to Brazil not only as a television pundit, but to secure a deal for one of three centre forwards and the Bayern Munich forward is top of the list. Meanwhile, Chelsea have also been credited with an interest in 28 year old former Wolfsburg striker. Whether it be Emirates Stadium or Stamford Bridge, Stimac believes whichever team gets him will be landing a supreme forward who can make contributions up front and at the back: "Mandzukic is definitely in the top three strikers in the world at the moment. Defensively and offensively he is an amazing player. “It’s n ...

Arsene Wenger wins trophy, Brendan Rodgers wins manager of the year, manuel Pelligrini wins double, Ancelotti in Champions League final, Pep Guardiola wins double, Diego Simeone wins Laliga, Lauren Blanc wins Lig One and. Tata Martino resigns, David Moyes is sacked but the biggest failure stays at post and is made to seem he's the best of all the aforementioned. Jose Mourinho has failed miserably this year yet he cunningly shifts all attention to others. And he shamefully says he's 'building a team' for next year. Kindly I ask, which manager deconstructs his team for next season? All hail the Confident trickster Mourinho, the special talking bird. Slain Me Chelsea fans, I await.

WHO WINS La Liga? Believe me, I had routed for Athletico Madrid for more than half the season, willing them to finally break the duopoly called the Spanish League. I had stood behind Diego Simeone all the while, wishing the Argentine to announce the arrival of the fresh and younger managers that will rattle the modern day coaching arena dominated by the likes of Jose Mourinho, Pep Guardiola, Roberto Martinez and others, who are threatening to force out the older guard in Arsene Wenger, Louis Van Gaal, Carlo Ancelotti and the likes. But I hadn’t counted with Barcelona not winning any other trophy. Now, I’m faced with the dilemma of seeing Athletico win deservedly and seeing Lionel Messi go trophyless in a World Cup season! Messi is just too big a player to go trophyless in any season. So, if I am given the opportunity, I’d give Barca the La Liga trophy, for Messi’s sake, then give the Champions League to Athletico, for Simeone’s sake. However, may the best side get their reward.

Pep Guardiola has a special place in my heart. A second tenant though after Arsene Wenger, the special of specials. Fashion, Charisma, philosophy, intelligence...but another one is coming through. The best manager in the world right now. Some of the greatest managerial aspects are in him. Diego Simeone. For La Liga and UCL.
When Pep Guardiola, Arsene Wenger or Brendan Rogers or any other wannabe footballing poet says "Football won today", they mean that their vision of football won. For these guys, football is about passing and movement. About improvisation and creativity, about solving puzzles posed by defenders in real time at sizzling pace through combination play or individual flair. That sense of wonderment which makes the crowd go "ooh", when a through pass (unseen by 80,000 supporters inside the arena) hits its mark through a sea of defenders like a well-executed ‘David Copperfield’ magic trick. To him, defending with numbers and scoring of a mistake or a set piece is ugly, sterile and pointless. On the other hand, for Mourinho, Simone and others who care little for spectacle, football is war. The purpose of football lies solely in victory. There is no sacrifice too great, nothing they will not do, to win, by any means, at any cost. Mourinho thinks people like Wenger and Guardiola do not understand reality, how th ...
Pep Guardiola can only watch or look and drink bottle water. It clearly shows that in modern football and coaching techniques he still has a lot to learn. Hence he can never be compare to Jose Mourinho, Carlos Ancelloti and even Arsene Wenger. Pep Guardiola is just fortunate to work with group of talented players both in Barcelona and Bayern Munich.
9 incredible things since Arsenal last won a trophy.. - 52 of the 92 football league clubs have won a trophy. - Arsene Wenger has earned approximately £63.5m in wages. - The planet Mercury has orbited the sun 32 times. - Over 1m people have been born. - Juventus have been relegated, promoted and won back 2 league titles. - Ex Arsenal players have won 44 medals. - Pep Guardiola retired as a player, become a manager, won 16 trophies with Barcelona, took a year break, returned as manager and won 2 trophies with Bayern Munich... Even Wenger, his team and his board of directors won't say that I.M.O Pep Guardiola is not half as good as Arsene Wenger
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is the best-paid coach in world football, according to a new list released on Tuesday. French weekly sports publication France Football have published their annual rich list, which shows Mourinho is now out-earning his coaching nemesis, Bayern Munich's Pep Guardiola – who has the second-largest coaching salary in the world game. The Blues boss – who earns a cool €17m a year – had suggested he took a pay cut to return to Stamford Bridge last summer, but that assertion has been dashed by the latest index. Arsene Wenger is the next best-paid Premier League boss, receiving little over half that of Mourinho, while former Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini is enjoying a bumper pay day at Galatasaray, having left the Etihad last summer. Mancini squeezes into the top three, edging ahead of Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti on €14m a year. Despite receiving a €1.5m pay rise after quitting Paris Saint-Germain for the Bernabeu, Ancelotti - who was on the podium in l . ...
The Former Barcelona boss has accused Arsene Wenger's side of merely waiting for the Bavarians to lose the ball in the hope of hitting their hosts on the counterattack Pep Guardiola has defended Bayern Munich's performance against Arsenal on Tuesday night, claiming that it had been difficult for his troops to find space against a side that he felt had played without any ambition. The Gunners had gone into the second leg of what had been an eagerly-awaited Champions League last-16 tie trailing 2-0 on aggregate. Consequently, Guardiola was surprised by what he perceived as Arsenal's unwillingness to attack at the Allianz Arena and felt that Bayern were unlucky to win a game that ended 1-1, with Lukas Podolski having almost immediately cancelled out Bastian Schweinsteiger's 55th-minute opener for the hosts. "We had a lot of control but the opponent didn't come to push," the former Spain international told his club's official website. "It's 2-0 in the head of the players and it's not easy. We're 2-0 up and we ...
Bayern far from untouchable: Bayern Munich have been almost untouchable in the Bundesliga but their edgy performance against Arsenal suggested that the lack of competition at domestic level could hinder their European ambitions. Bayern again found the Champions League a different proposition as they struggled to break down a surprisingly cautious Arsenal in the first half of Tuesday's game and showed vulnerabilities in defence when the visitors came at them in the final half hour. The last time Bayern failed to win a competitive game was also in the Champions League last December, when they squandered a 2-0 lead and lost 3-2 at home to Manchester City. Arsenal Manager Arsene Wenger also faced Bayern last season in the round of 16 and was able to make a brief comparison between last year's Champions League-winning side, coached by Jupp Heynckes, and Pep Guardiola's version this year. "Bayern are a good side but they were more vulnerable this season than last year," he told a news conference after the game. ...
Bayern Munich head up, Arsenal head out Wednesday 12 March 2014 = A second-half Bastian Schweinsteiger goal gave Bayern a brief lead before Arsenal’s Lukas Podolski equalised with a thunderbolt of a shot as the tie finished 3-1 on aggregate. “We put in a very, very good first-half and controlled the game by giving away no goal chances,” said Bayern captain Philipp Lahm. “But we made a few too many mistakes in the second-half.” Arsenal, who also went out at the same stage of the competition to the same opponents last season, failed to overturn their 2-0 deficit from the first leg three weeks ago. Amidst hopes of repeating last season’s shock 2-0 win in Munich, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger made six changes from the team which lost to Bayern in London. Bayern coach Pep Guardiola made three changes from the first leg, switching from a 4-1-4-1 in London to the 4-2-3-1 formation used in last season’s European final. “We didn’t gave them many chances, we had expected them to push forward a bit mo ...
Kudos to Arsene Wenger and his boys. They lost the match but they live to fight another day.And the Bayern Munchen juggernaut rolls on.Who'll stop Pep Guardiola and his warriors?
Arsenal's summer transfer targets Julian Draxler Arsenal attempted to secure a deal for Julian Draxler in January but Schalke chief Horst Heldt has since revealed he knocked back all offers. Heldt, however, could be powerless in the summer and Arsene Wenger is widely expected to return with a swoop for the Germany international. Bayern Munich are also sniffing. Mario Mandzukic Reports suggest Mario Mandzukic's playing style does not suit the ideals of Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola. Despite a strong start to the campaign and an impressive tally of 18 goals, Mandzukic could leave Munich with Robert Lewandowski joining in the summer. Seamus Coleman Bacary Sagna will become a free agent in the summer and - if the club can’t agree a new deal for the Frenchman - Arsene Wenger may turn his attention to Everton’s Seamus Coleman. The attacking full-back has scored five Premier League goals this term but will demand a sizeable fee having signed a long-term deal at Goodison Park last season. Edin Dzeko Edin D ...
Arsenal and Manchester City fly out in contrasting moods "Uwe's Grandad bombed Old Trafford," proclaimed a best-selling T-shirt at Manchester City in the 1990s. On Sunday at the Etihad, former Blues striker Uwe Rosler's Wigan bombed City out of the FA Cup. A quadruple bid for glory suddenly looks rather singular, double at best. Chelsea's destruction of Tottenham leaves City playing catch-up in the Premier League title race on a knife-edge. Winning their three games in hand will only take them level-pegging with Jose Mourinho's horse. Winning the League Cup last week was succeeded by embarrassment seven days later. Having dismissed Everton 4-1 on Saturday, Arsenal have a clear path to a first trophy in nine painful year. Perhaps only Rosler's Latics might stop them now. Arsene Wenger could not hide his enjoyment as both Mesut Ozil and Olivier Giroud put recent troubles behind them. England's competitors in this week's Champions League fly out in contrasting moods, even if each task is similar. Indeed, it ...

Arsene Wenger: ''Red card killed the game'' Arsenal was devastated when they perished at the same stage and against the same opposition which happened last year as well. They Bayern Munich last season and lost at Emirates Stadium. Bayern Munich which is managed by Pep Guardiola remains on the track where they could retain the trophy after winning it last year. Goals from Kroos and Muller ensured that they can go back home with an away win. For the first 10-15 minutes, Arsenal was dominant in the match and at the same time, they got a penalty which was missed by Mesut Ozil. The downfall of Arsenal started from this point. Soon after this, Arsenal goalkeeper was sent off for fouling Arjen Robben in the danger box. This gave a penalty shoot for Bayern Munich and to add some more twist, the penalty was not scored. In the second half, Kroos scored a goal from 20 yards and Muller was brought who scored when couple of minutes were left in the match. Last season Arsenal scored 2-0 in the second leg but where thro ...
Arsene Wenger accused Bayern Munich of resorting to cynical tactics as 10-man Arsenal were left facing elimination from the Champions League after a 2-0 defeat against the holders. Wenger's side are on the verge of crashing out of Europe's elite club competition in the last 16 at the hands of Bayern for the second successive season following a frustrating first leg loss at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday. The result was hard to take for Gunners boss Wenger, who was infuriated by what he perceived as Bayern's theatrical attempts to influence Italian referee Nicola Rizzoli by making the most of any contact from Arsenal players. Wenger's rant seemed harsh on Bayern, who made their class tell after an early wobble when Mesut Ozil's penalty was saved by Manuel Neuer before Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny was sent off for conceding a spot-kick with a foul on Arjen Robben. Bayern's David Alaba missed the penalty, but Pep Guardiola's team eventually made their numerical superiority pay thanks to second hal ...
SPORTS UPDATE WITH EMMAH ATAI: Arsene Wenger has accused Arjen Robben of diving to get Arsenal keeper Wojciech Szczesny sent off, which led to a 2-0 defeat by Bayern Munich. To make matters worse on a miserable night for Arsenal, Szczesny is facing a UEFA probe after making a rude gesture following his sending-off. Pep Guardiola admits he was "so happy" to see Bayern Munich beat Arsenal 2-0 after losing on his two previous visits to Emirates Stadium. The ex-Barcelona coach endured two winless visits with his former Spanish employers but expressed his delight after the triumph. Garry Monk says he is "level-headed" enough to face the biggest test of his fledgling coaching career when Swansea host Napoli in the Europa League. Monk, named interim manager after Michael Laudrup was sacked on 4 February, will today lead the Swans as they tackle the Italian giants in the last 32. Samir Nasri insists Manchester City can beat Barcelona at the Camp Nou and keep alive their Champions League hopes since they are not as ...
Arsenal V Bayern After-match Press Conference Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola: "Arsenal were much much much better than us for the first 20 minutes. After the red card for their goalkeeper it was another game. "When he is the last man then the referee says penalty and red card. "It is difficult to play when you see nine players in the box. It is not easy, never. But importantly we controlled this situation and played with patience and at the end found the goal. "Last year Bayern had a better result than this evening. It depends on our heads (the second leg)." Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger: "We made big mistakes, but the spirit was absolutely fantastic. "The penalty we missed killed the crowd and positive vibes. We were down to 10 men and we suffered physically. "It is a night the team showed some quality, but at the end of the day we lost the game. "[Talking about Mesut Ozil's penalty-taking technique] I prefer people ran properly at the ball. Everybody has their own style, there is not one way of penalt ...

Arsenal v Bayern Munich: The win that kick-started a Gunners revival Comments (276) Arsenal face Champions League holders Bayern Munich at Emirates Stadium after taking two significant steps on the road to recovery from their public humiliation at Liverpool. Manager Arsene Wenger knew his side needed a response to that 5-1 defeat at Anfield with their season reaching defining moments on three fronts. This has been achieved with a solid, if unspectacular, clean sheet in the goalless draw at home to Manchester United and then by exacting revenge on Liverpool with an FA Cup fifth round victory at the Emirates. So with the Premier League ship steadied and FA Cup progress secured, the greatest test of all now comes in the shape of a last-16 Champions League meeting with Bayern, arguably Europe's finest side now under the guidance of coach Pep Guardiola, twice a winner in this competition with Barcelona. And with confidence being rebuilt in the past week, can Arsenal take further solace in their victory in The ...

Julian Draxler on his way to Arsenal? Arsenal Manager Arsene Wenger isn't going to let the Gunners' title hopes go down without a fight, with a fee reported to have been agreed for Schalke's Julian Draxler. The Bundesliga club, however, aren't keen on letting their star player go, and are increasingly confident of keeping the 20-year-old this month. Meanwhile Bayern Munich midfielder Toni Kroos is still being linked with a switch to Manchester United after reacting badly to being substituted by Pep Guardiola on Wednesday night. Could a late move be on the cards?
Who is the Best Coach so far in the 2013/14 season? - Arsene Wenger - Pep Guardiola - Antonio Conte - Tata - Manuel Pellegrini - Rudi Garcia - Stuart Baxter -Ogee Loc
Arsene Wenger is the 4th highest paid manager in the world. David Moyes is 7th. Pep Guardiola at Bayern is highest paid.
Manuel Pellegrini paid the price for getting his maths wrong in Munich, seeing his side finish second in a tricky group after failing to grab a fourth goal against the European champions Bayern. The German giants qualified as group winners and as a result of Monday's round of 16 draw, City were dealt perhaps the toughest of opponents: Lionel Messi's Barcelona. In the meantime, Arsenal equally finished second and got the defending champions for their troubles. Arsenal versus Bayern Munich is perhaps having the best team in England (judging by the table) against the best team in the world. This will be a passing festival with Pep Guardiola against Arsene Wenger, two coaches who like to play the same way. QUESTION Looking at (Arsenal versus Bayern Munich and Man City versus Barcelona) which pairing will you consider tougher?
TOWARDS World Cup 2014: Keshi To Adopt Spain’s Style -Reveals Encounter With Del Bosque As strong hint has emerged that the Super Eagles may adopt the tiki-taka playing style of Spain at next year’s World Cup, as Nigeria’s head coach, Stephen Keshi has admitted that the is an avowed fan of The Amada’s current handler, Vicente Del Bosque. The former Real Madrid of Spain gaffer has perfected the ‘passing-game’ approach to soccer tactics that was used to great success by La Liga rivals, ex-FC Barcelona coach, Pep Guardiola and by Arsene Wenger at Arsenal of England, and Keshi now appears ready to go the same way of Del Bosque heading into next year’s Mundial in Brazil. This much was revealed by the eagles’ handler himself, as The Big Boss has disclosed that he learnt invaluable lessons from Del Bosque and says his alliance with the experienced trainer has rubbed off positively on his development as a coach. The 62-year-old Spanish trainer has been in charge of the Spain squad since July 15, 2 ...
Emperor's Facts File "97% of girls you meet will only reveal to you their football age and hide their real age even when they do not know Arsene Wenger, Jose Mourinho, Carlo Ancelloti, Gerardo Martino, Jurgen Klopp, Pep Guardiola or even Stephen Keshi" -EMPEROR WHY DO THEY DO SO?
Keshi is as good as Pep Guardiola and Jose Mournho, better than Arsene Wenger and the best when u compare him with David Moyes. The difference b/w them is their colour.David cannot win a spoon with Everton for 11years as their coach,Arsene Wenger, with all resources at his disposal cannot boast of even a plastic cup for 8 years now.But keshi with little resources he has is already an African king, and the way things are going,i see him lifting the World Cup next year.Keshi is the real deal.
Pep Guardiola has won more at Bayern Munich in 2 months than Arsene Wenger has won in 8 years.
There will be plenty of players on show tomorrow evening, who have been linked with Premier League switches and could find themselves playing English football next year. Arjen Robben The Dutch winger has been touted as a possible target for Manchester City . He’s shrugged that off but a poor performance in the final could encourage City to make a bid, especially as Pep Guardiola could make some big personnel changes at the club this summer. Mario Gomez The experienced German centre forward has been on Chelsea ’s radar according to the press, but he’s unlikely to start in the final. If he doesn’t feature at all, that will hurt him and could cause him to take up any offer to play for Jose Mourinho at Stamford Bridge. Dante Brazilian central defender Dante has been suggested as a possible transfer target for Arsenal . The Gunners could axe Thomas Varmaelen this summer, which creates a big hole in the middle of their side and Arsene Wenger could aggressively pursue a player of Dante’s quality. Rober ...

Arsene Wenger says tomorrow's football will be played in Germany, which helps explain why Pep Guardiola made his choice, but will not encourage Chelsea if they want to prise Jurgen Klopp from Borussia Dortmund
Arsenal's Arsene Wenger, right, and the interim Chelsea manager, Rafael Benítez, are under pressure to get results at home games. Photograph: Dave Thompson/PA Does Arsène Wenger have an inside line on the Chelsea managerial situation that has so far remained under wraps? Given his standing in the game and the fact that he can count on the odd contact, it is fair to view the Arsenal manager as a credible source. Chelsea have now had the confirmation that Pep Guardiola will not become their next permanent manager. They had come to realise that their long-time target would spurn their advances well before Wednesday's bombshell announcement from Bavaria that Bayern Munich had secured the Catalan's signature on a pre-contract and they will consider, in due course, the merits of José Mourinho, Michael Laudrup and Jürgen Klopp, among others. The man who does not appear to merit serious consideration is the incumbent, Rafael Benítez, whose job title carries the pejorative prefix of "interim" and who has cut ...

Stolen coments, by Lerato Kojoana.. You know TK, every successful team today plays with a deep-lying play maker - Andres Pirlo for Italy and Inter, Xavi for Spain and Barcelona, Scheinsteiger for Bayern and Germany, Yaya Toure for City. Manyisa does the same for Pirates, and who does it for Bafana? No one! Instead Gordon chooses to have Dean Furman or KG who have limited playmaking ability, in a position that is the fulcrum of modern day football. Modern coaches like Arsene Wenger and Pep Guardiola keeps telling us that there's no such thing as a defensive midfielder in the modern game, that all players are required to defend and to attack equally. Yet local coaches and SABC1 commentators keep talking about this position of a defensive midfielder, which does not exist in modern football. We are implementing archaic concepts and are refusing to move forward, and it shows in our selection. The first criteria for selecting players is that they must be successful at their clubs, that's how Egypt dominated the ...

One of the greatest players of all time – Holland legend Johan Cruyff – has revealed why Arsenal would be crazy to get rid of Arsene Wenger. Cruyff has given the Gunners boss solid backing and says the Arsenal board would be mad to even consider parting company with the Frenchman. “Wenger will ALWAYS bring the club back to the top,” said Cruyff, who is credited by Pep Guardiola for establishing the La Masia academy at Barcelona, which produced Lionel Messi, Xavi Hernandez and Andres Iniesta. -DB
Well, guys, since the end is near, I'll make few confessions which have tormented me for some time: - I have two jerseys with Gervinho's name on the back (an Arsenal and an Ivory Coast kit) and every time he scores a goal, I cut myself a little to feel what it really feels like to be alive; - I am convinced Aaron Ramsey is the new Messi. Trust me, he's an alien (not the good kind); - Arsene Wenger is a tactical genius and the way he plays midfielders and wingers out of position is visionary and highly effective. I secretly slways supported his approach, but didn't want to look "too mainstream", so I criticized him; - I have never liked Barca's boring style of play. Having the best players in the world doesn't mean you should make football fun. It is meant to be played the way Stoke City play it - like rugby; - Messi is just an overrated midget! I'm 99% sure I saw him in "The Hobbit", carrying Gimli's ax. He has no place on the football field, he belongs down in the mines of Moria; - Pep Guardiola doesn't ...

Pep Guardiola as Arsene Wenger's replacement! Grateful for the service Arsene has given but its time to call it a day!
There is no run-away favourite to eventually replace Arsene Wenger at Arsenal but leading the odds is Pep Guardiola as Arsene continues to struggle
Former Arsenal midfielder Stewart Robson: I would have sacked Wenger four years ago "I would have sacked him four years ago but I'm in the minority," the former player told talkSPORT. "Arsenal need a new manager and they need it soon." When asked whether Arsene Wenger's status at the club makes him unsackable, Robson insisted: "In my view he's not. I wrote an article about four or five years ago when I said he was the cause of a lot of problems at Arsenal. "He doesn't have the tactical understanding, his manner on the side of the pitch doesn't help the team, he's petulant and therefore his players become petulant. He doesn't give any information from the sidelines and his teams look under-prepared defensively. "I wrote that article five years ago and nothing has changed my mind since. In fact, my views on Arsene Wenger are even stronger now than they were then. There's still 50 per cent of the fans which will say what a good job he is doing and we must trust in Arsene Wenger but I just don't see it. *** . ...

Paul Merson on Arsenal's defeat to Swansea MERSE: "It isn't good enough and sooner or later something has to happen there. I wouldn't sack Arsene Wenger because who would Arsenal get and who would take the job? Pep Guardiola wouldn't it in in a month of Sundays. They have to bring in a better quality of player in January, though, as it is unbelievable how far that club has gone backwards. Seven or eight years ago they were probably they best team you will ever see in Premier League history and they should have gone forward - but not one player in this current team would have got in the 'Invincibles' team."
Pep Guardiola, the team you would love to manage in England in now yours for the taking, Arsene Wenger's mediocrity has filled the cup to the brim and overflowed.

Wenger : No One can replace Ferguson at Utd. Arsene Wenger may have guided Arsenal into the Champions League for 16 seasons in a row, but his achievements still fall a long way short of his great rival Alex Ferguson at Manchester United. With Fergie approaching his 71st birthday very soon, the speculation about who could replace him at Old Trafford when he (eventually!) retires. Two obvious candidates are Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola, but Wenger thinks that whoever follows him struggle to maintain the status quo and the success of Ferguson’s side. The Arsenal boss said: “I don’t remember anybody else being at the top, top level for such a long time I think, of course, it is a fantastic thing — you can’t even describe the achievement unless you know what that means. “In some ways it is scary as well because you think when this guy leaves the club, no matter of the quality of who comes in after him, it will be a huge hole. The club will be destabilised even if the guy who comes after him is t ...

What's the viscous rumour Pep Guardiola's representatives in London to talk about succeeding Arsene Wenger?!?!
I personally feel Arsene Wenger & Pep Guardiola together would be as great a partnership and Arsene and David Dein
What on earth makes Pep Guardiola better than Arsene Wenger? Is it bcos he went to a jungle and won over ten trophies in one season? Why did he run away when they got exited from the Champions League last seson? That shows a man that is scared of failure!!! But Wenger has been there,we all know him,he is there through thick and thin and he has proved he is one of the best coaches in the world, eventhough I feel he shuld leave Arsenal for a change!!! Plss peopls shuld stop this compariam,it is not worth it!!! Compare Arsene Wenger to people like Sir Alex Fergusson,Jose Mourinho, and not with a school boy!!! Alexander Hleb and Iker Casillas will not seize to amaze me. Hleb claim Pep Guardiola is not a better coach as Alex Ferguson, Arsene Wenger, and Jose Mourinho. Well I think Hleb is being reserve with what is really his grieve with Pep. I understand that when Hleb left Arsenal for Barca, Pep Guardiola never gave him that good opportunity to see pep as better coach. I appologise unbehalf of pep Hleb, find it in your heart to pardon Mr Pep but I disagree when you rate Mourinho ahead Guardialo. Fereguson can manage, Arsene can manage, Pep can manage with the little minimum budget to get result. Mourinho is is a multi Million pounds manager before he can get result. So, Hleb you judge between the both who most prudent and result oriented? aS Iker Casillas,CR7 is his team mate mate so he can say what he likes. Even Casillas plays for Barcs he will the other tune. LEO MESSI IS GR8TA THAN CR7 IKER.

"Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo? Both! They are different but both fantastic for football," Blatter was quoted as saying by Marca. "Cristiano wants to be the general on the pitch, lay down the law and scream here I stand. Messi, on the other hand, is like a conjurer, a magician. They are both living legends of football." The Fifa boss then went on to stress that outspoken coaches like Jose Mourinho, Alex Ferguson, Arsene Wenger and Pep Guardiola are good for the image of the game. "Mourinho's one of the giants in football. It's good for the sport to have big names like Mourinho, Ferguson, Wenger, Guardiola. "Each one has his own style and charisma. They don't sit on the bench all sad and quiet." Sepp Blatter.
Wenger backs Song to shine at Barcelona Arsene Wenger has backed former protege Alexandre Song to make an impact at Barcelona, as the Cameroon international continues to acclimatise himself to life at Camp Nou. The midfielder, who played under the stewardship of the French coach for seven seasons, was criticised by sections of the media for his performance in the Catalans' 3-2 Champions League victory over Spartak Moscow last week. Nevertheless, Wenger maintains Song has the quality to succeed in La Liga, and has issued advice to coach Tito Vilanova about how to best employ the Cameroon international. "He will succeed at Barca, and something tells me that he will play in central defence," he told BeIn Sports. "No matter who's by his side, he will be good in this role." Song made almost 200 appearances for the Londoners since his arrival from Bastia in 2005, but the majority of these came in a defensive midfield role. However, Barcelona have a tendency to deploy their holding players at centre-back, a tact ...

Arsenal blow as Barcelona join chase for top target.Barcelona have emerged as serious contenders to sign sought-after France star Yann M'Vila. The combative midfielder is Arsenal's main transfer target this summer and reports have suggested Arsene Wenger is closing in on the Rennes man. Suggestions M'Vila is off to Arsenal are premature, though, and Barcelona are now fully in the running to land him. M'Vila is set to miss France's clash with England in Euro 2012 on Monday and his future will be sorted after the tournament. He has told Rennes he wants to leave as he seeks a new challenge, having joined the club in 2004 as a junior. Arsenal are keen and Manchester United are also interested in the 21-year-old, although Sir Alex Ferguson has placed M'Vila further down the list of his transfer priorities. But Wenger could miss out on M'Vila if Barcelona push forward in the race to land the £25m-rated star, who has a contract at Rennes until 2015. Tito Vilanova, who has replaced Pep Guardiola as Barcelona coa ...

Liverpool, Chelsea target Guardiola wants kids to learn English England will be the next destination for departing Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola. The Mail on Sunday says Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has not yet given up on Guardiola and their hopes rose when the Spaniard suggested last week that he could still be persuaded to take a new job. Guardiola had originally considered moving to London for his sabbatical year but is now eyeing New York with his wife, Cristina Serra, and his three children, all under 11. He wants his children to learn English, which would help them settle if he does move to England for the 2013-14 season, when Abramovich could still want him at Chelsea. Equally, if Arsene Wenger were to take a boardroom role at Arsenal or if Sir Alex Ferguson were to retire at Manchester United, those clubs would be highly desirable for him. My Take Daily, Pep's moving closer to England!
