The Gunners completed a €20 million deal for the England forward late on deadline day after Radamel Falcao joined the Red Devils on a season- long loan. Welbeck’s sale has been criticised by the likes of former United captain Gary Neville but Wenger says he jumped at the opportunity to bring the 23- year-old to north London. He told reporters: “We lost an important striker in Olivier Giroud and we’re short in numbers up front. Thomas Vermaelen to complete Man Utd transfer? Manchester United and Arsenal have come to terms on a deal that will see club captain Thomas Vermaelen complete a transfer switch from the Emirates Stadium to Old Trafford. Vermaelen has struggled for regular first team action in recent seasons. The Belgium international has seemingly decided to make a transfer elsewhere after Arsenal Manager Arsene Wenger agreed to sell the centre back. Whilst most Arsenal fans would prefer that their club captain would not make a move to bitter rivals Man Utd; most will forgive Vermaelen after his fall from grace since the decision of Manager Arsene Wenger to play Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny as first choice defenders. The Belgian is currently entering the final 12 months of his contract at the Gunners and will open talks with Louis Van Gaal as soon as the World Cup has finished.

ARSENAL BOSS WENGER FANCIES MAN UTD PAIR CLEVERLEY, SMALLING IN VERMAELEN DEAL, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger may seek a swap deal in talks over the sale of Thomas Vermaelen to Manchester United. The Mirror says Wenger has been keeping tabs on Tom Cleverley and also has an interest in Chris Smalling . That could act as a potential sweetener, with the Old Trafford giants keen to do a £10million deal for Belgium World Cup defender Vermaelen. Vermaelen, 28, only has one year left on his contract with the Gunners, has been relegated down the pecking order and, despite being captain, seems surplus to requirements.

The Arsenal are very close to beating Man Utd to sign Alvaro Morata !! Arsenal are moving close to agreeing a deal to sign Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid after agreeing to insert a buy back clause into the deal, reports the Daily Express. Reports surfaced on Thursday morning claiming an Arsenal delegation were on their way to Spain to try and thrash out a deal for the 22 year old. It represented a revitalisation in talks following the Gunners' failed attempts to land Morata in January. However, the sticking point was never going to be the potential transfer fee but the fact that Real Madrid would only agree to a deal if they were given the right to buy back the Spaniard at any point in the next two years. Initially it is thought Arsene Wenger would flatly reject the proposal, leaving the door open for Manchester United, who have also shown an interest in the striker, to swoop in on negotiations. But with Wenger keen to wrap up a deal for the striker, he has reluctantly agreed to insert the clause and wil . ...

Eight knockout wins in 16 years - Arsenal are serial Champions League failures. Arsene Wenger prides himself on his side’s long run of successive appearances in the last 16, but their record in the knockout stages is abysmal Since the rebranding of the European Cup in 1992, just six clubs have participated in the Champions League group stages more times than Arsenal; Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester United, AC Milan, Porto and Tuesday's opponents Bayern Munich. Given that the Gunners didn’t enter Europe’s premier club competition until 1998, this represents a significant achievement. Furthermore, only Man Utd and Real Madrid have registered more successive Champions League appearances than Arsenal’s 16 consecutive campaigns from 1998-99 to 2013-14. And with United failing to make it out of their pools in both 2005-06 and 2011-12, only Madrid better Arsenal’s 14 years of uninterrupted progression from the opening group phase. "[Our record] provides a massive satisfaction,” Arsene Wenger beame ...

Only time will tell.. for now, i hope Moyes gets the time.. this Man Utd squad without Fergie, looks very very average and needs massive rebuilding..

I strongly believe that the only manager of an EPL club right now who is worthy of managing Man Utd is Jose Mourinho. Sorry to say that Arsene Wenger is not worthy to manage Man Utd as well.
IT IS 'LE PROF' v MOU! The fourth round draw of the Capitol One Cup has seen London rivals Arsenal and Chelsea matched up. Arsene Wenger's understrength Gunners laboured to a 4-3 penalty shoot out win over West Bromwich Albion after a 1-1 draw over 120 minutes last night. Jose Mourinho's Blues eased past Swindon 2-0 Tuesday. The most successful side in the history of the English League Cup Manchester Utd, who bounced back from a debilitating derby defeat to beat Liverpool 1-0 as Luis Suarez bit dust on his return from a biting ban, were rewarded with another Old Trafford tie against Norwich. Last night David 'The Chosen One' Moyes made seven changes against the best of Liverpool but progressed in a difficult match to avenge a similar score-line loss to Brendan Rogers ' side earlier in the league. Fantasy Premier League – Gameweek 5 Who’s hot right now? Aaron Ramsey (Arsenal) Value: £5.9 Recent points: 15-3-4 Upcoming fixtures: Stoke (h), Swansea (a), West Brom (h) The Arsenal midfielder seems to be preferred by Arsene Wenger this season as he is playing most of every game. I have said from pre-season already that Ramsey is one to watch. He has also come into sublime form scoring 6 goals from 6 matches this season. A great value for money pick as he is not that expensive as well. My top pick for the week. Pablo Zabaleta (Man City) Value: £6.3 Recent points: 7-12-1 Upcoming fixtures: Man Utd (h), Aston Villa (a), Everton (h) Defenders are doing very well so far this season and Zabaleta being the second highest defender (points) is definitely a good pick. He is consistent and likes to get forward and attack very often. The quality of his crosses and positioning are his strengths. The only problem being the City defense may leak a goal here or there as they don’t look as good as last season at ...

Manchester United’s new boss refuses to give up on signing the former Gunners skipper who is out of favour at Barcelona. Arsenal’s Arsene Wenger has first refusal on the World Cup-winning midfielder, 26. But Moyes is ready to price him out in a straight fight this summer as he looks to start building a new era at Man Utd. Fabregas has said publicly that he wants to stay at the Nou Camp to fight for his place even after the £50m signing of Brazilian superstar Neymar. But Moyes is ready to test his loyalty with the offer of playing at the heart of the team he is building at Old Trafford. Moves to get Fabregas back to the Premier League began long before Moyes took over from Alex Ferguson last month. Midfield is an area that needs urgent attention for the Premier League champs with Paul Scholes retired, leaving Michael Carrick and Tom Cleverley to carry the burden. Brazilian Anderson and Japan’s Shinji Kagawa make up the numbers but are not in the same class as Fabregas. The Spanish star slipped down ...

Arsenal are lining-up a move for £15m-rated Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba, who is unsettled in Italy following recent racial abuse, according to the Mirror. The 20-year-old has enjoyed his breakthrough season in Italy, playing in 37 games in all competitions and chipped in with 5 goals to help Antonio Conte’s men retain their Serie A title, while he’s also broken into the French national team earning 2 caps so far. The report claims Arsene Wenger is ready to use part of his ‘summer warchest’ to fund a move for a powerful midfielder and long-term target Pogba is on his radar again after the boss missed out signing him when he left Le Harve for Man Utd in 2009 and then again last summer when he opted for a Free Transfer move to Juve. However, the Mirror claim we’ve been alerted once more after Pogba was racially abused during a derby match with Torino last month and Wenger is now ready to test the water with a serious bid this summer, with Juventus understood to value the lanky midfielder at £1 ...
GUNNERS JOIN ROONEY CHASE! Arsene Wenger is understood to be interested in signing Wayne Rooney. The Arsenal boss will be handed a £70m summer budget and would want to splash some of the cash on the want-away Man Utd striker. The highest paid player at Arsenal is Lukas Podolski earning £100, 000 a week while Rooney earns £250 000\wk. Can Arsenal afford the England man and beat Chelsea to his signature?
Its fast become a tradition of Arsene Wenger and Arsenal FC to target and secure a fourth spot finish, because it guarantees money and CL football! No wonder why the likes of RvP, Fabregas, Song, Clichy and Nasri dumped Wenger and the club!
Arsene Wenger: "What I want is for us to have a good game & to beat Man Utd, it doesn't matter what kind of status they come with."
Man Utd maybe out but I pray for a Real Madrid Vs Arsenals miracle final berth
The Special One!!! You see guys, i have always kept a pic of Jose Mourinho in my profile. Barcelona twice and Man Utd now in the space of a week, only a Mourinho team can do that - be it Porto, Chelsea, Inter or Madrid. He is a genius!!! Used to like Arsene Wenger, but the guy is so exasperating these days.
Arsene Wenger once again said that he can't fault the effort and commitment of the team. Sounds fairly common this doesn't it? This isn't rocket science, their is always a reason why we are so far behind the other clubs in the league; it's either that our players aren't of the same quality (which is the real reason) or they haven't got the will or spirit to suceed. Wenger continues to believe that this squad is real quality, and the effort can't be faulted. So how come we are declining? There has to be a reason, stop fooling yourself and the fans. We know that this team just isn't on the same level as City and Man Utd. I have always wanted Wenger to stay, and I still do, but he continues to lie about the quality in the squad. Opinions on Wenger???

Man Utd close to deal for Zaha Manchester United and Crystal Palace will hold further talks in the next 24 hours as they work towards concluding a deal for England winger Wilfried Zaha. Sir Alex Ferguson has remained behind as his squad travelled to Qatar on Sunday for a short training camp. United are understood to be willing to pay £12m for Zaha and will then loan him back to the Championship club for the rest of the season. Both clubs have refused to comment on a proposed deal for the 20-year-old. But an agreement could be reached by the end of the week for a player who won his first England cap against Sweden in November. Zaha, who came through the youth academy at Selhurst Park, has scored 15 goals in 124 appearances for the Eagles since his debut against Cardiff in March 2010. He was named the Football League Young Player of the Year last season and attracted the attention of a host of Premier League clubs. Arsenal legend hits out at 'lying' Wenger; Walcott to join Man Utd by Sport 360 staff, Dec 14, 2012 Arsenal legend Ian Wright has launched a withering attack against boss Arsene Wenger, accusing the Frenchman of failing to truthfully address the club's current plight and believes any other manager would have been sacked for going so long without success. Wright says Wenger "does not tell the truth" when assessing his team's performances and also branded supporters of the 63-year-old "deluded" for standing by him throughout the club's barren spell. Wenger is facing one of the toughest spells of his 16 years at the Arsenal helm following the shock Capital One Cup penalty shoot-out defeat at League Two outfit Bradford City on Tuesday night and inconsistent Premier League form. The 63-year-old has not delivered a trophy since the FA Cup in 2005, and Wright believes that record in itself would have seen anyone else shown the door. Speaking to Absolute Radio's RocknRoll Football show, Wright said: "I wouldn't s ...

Once upon a time, Arsenal was a team that played it's game with suave, creativity and artistry- and kept winning. At one time, teams were struggling to beat the record of not concending early against Arsenal. During those days, the prospects of facing up Patrick Vieira, Robert Pires, Freddie Ljunberg and Thierry Henry would cause Man Utd, leave alone the Stokes and Norwichs of this world, sleepless nights. In that era, if you had not conceded in the first 20 minutes, it was marked as an achievement and other teams would use the video from match as a case study on how to delay the Armageddon. It is no longer the case. We used to have a sharp manager called Arsene Wenger, he was a master of his own destiny. Wenger not surprised by Van Persie's Man Utd form: Arsene Wenger has admitted that he is not surprised by Robin ...
Quote from teh BBC website about last night's game against Reading "During the first half, Arsenal looked set to be on the end of a Sunday League scoreline with what resembled a Sunday League performance. And yet somehow Arsene Wenger's side produced a scarcely believable comeback to recover from three goals down for the first time in their history and take their place in the quarter-finals for the 10th successive season. They created for themselves an utter disaster and somehow rose to find hope, and with it, power, purpose and direction." Lets hope this is the turning point for the rest of Arsenal's season although we were defensively woeful and if we do that against Man Utd at the weekend then we will get beat.

Arsenal boss Wenger: I hate seeing Van Persie in Man Utd shirt Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger fears Robin Van Persie's move to Manchester United will come back to haunt him. Wenger takes his team to French champs Montpellier in the Champions League tonight without his star striker from last season. Van Persie signed for Manchester United and Wenger said: “I’d have preferred him to go to a foreign club, so that he doesn’t haunt us. “You have to accept it, it’s part of life. Obviously, it hurts to see him in another shirt. “Every move he makes, every gesture, he tries to do it to perfection. “You can call him at 10 o’clock at night, you won’t find him in a nightclub. “He’s either watching a football match, a video or preparing himself for the next match.” My take And u still went ahead to sell him with all these qualities? Sadly, he will definitely comeback to haunt u...
Jude Abaga A.k. A MI on Arsenal M.I- I think that…men you’ve touched my soft spot. First of all Arsene Wenger is a genius. To be an Arsenal fan you’ve to realize what the focus of the board is and what the most important thing for them is. I think the most important thing for them is to have a huge financial undertaking which is the stadium and they want to finance it themselves. I think that is one of the boldest and smartest things that any club organization, that any sport organization has ever done. And for them to even maintain a top four finish while they are spending an average of 2 million every year in the transfer market is absolutely ridiculous. This man has far out performed and he is going to go down in the history as one of the greatest managers probably the second greatest manager when Arsenal is done paying for their stadium. What he has done is impossible to do, anywhere else. I remember when Man Utd started trying to rebuild they finished fourth that season and the next season they ...

Arsenal boss Wenger taunts Man Utd pair Welbeck, Chicharito: When will you play? Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has warned Manchester United youngsters Danny Welbeck and Javier Hernandez over their playing chances this season. Wenger lost Robin Van Persie to United yesterday. "Alex Ferguson is a bit too confident when he speaks of '99," said Wenger. "But, of course, it increases their potential offensively because they've got a world-class player. "They have as well a number of players, like Danny Welbeck and Javier Hernandez, who will have restricted chances to play." My take It's going to be tough, really tough for the duo but Fergie.
Matt Le Tissier is stunned Arsene Wenger has agreed to sell Robin Van Persie to Man Utd.

Alex Ferguson having his typical moan. As soon as he loses out on Lucas Moura to PSG, he says "I find it quite amazing that a club can pay 36 Million for a 19-year-old boy". Yet, 8 years ago, he paid 30 million for an 18 year old. Then this morning, he moans about Arsenal not wanting to sell to Man Utd, saying he doesnt know why Arsenal and Arsene Wenger arent willing to negotiate with them. But again, a few years ago, Liverpool wanted to buy Gabriel Heinze. Liverpool, in 2007, were Utd's main title rivals, and he refused point blank to negotiate with Liverpool saying, "I can assure you, Liverpool will not be getting Gabriel Heinze. We can put that to bed right now and we have done so.
Arsene Wenger has insisted he wants to keep Robin Van Persie at Arsenal after Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed Man Utd had bid for the strike
Manchester United / Arsenal »»» Man Utd fear Arsenal will drive Van Persie price to £30M Manchester United fear having to pay over the odds to land Arsenal striker Robin Van Persie. United fear it could take as much as £30million to prise Van Persie away from Arsenal. Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed that he has made a bid for Van Persie, with United ready to battle rivals Manchester City and Juventus for the 29-year-old Holland striker. But club sources believe United will have to raise their opening offer to close to the record £30.75m it took to sign Dimitar Berbatov from Tottenham four years ago, and there is also concern that Ferguson’s chequered history with Arsene Wenger could also be a major stumbling block in any deal.
Arsenal Manager Arsene Wenger failed to come to a resolution with striker Robin Van Persie about his future after face-to-face talks on Wednesday, according to widespread reports in the English media.
For all my fellow Red Devils , exists the temptation to slump into despair. However it is this same history, this same culture of experience, timing and recovery, which means that Manchester United are not dead and buried. The demise of Sir Alex Ferguson’s Manchester United as a force has been foretold many times. It was claimed upon the promotion of Beckham, Giggs, Scholes and Butt in 1995, and on the later departures of Cantona, Beckham, Van Nistelrooy and Ronaldo. They were vanquished, it was said at the time, by the emergence of Arsene Wenger and his French revolution, and then again by Jose Mourinho’s abrasive and often flawless Chelsea. And yet, Sir Alex's Man Utd have defied each of these dooms day predictions and risen a new. This is a challenge which will have Ferguson cursing, chewing his gum and applying the hair dryer as furiously as ever before. Nobody knows this history better [ than the boss himself], and nobodyis better equipped for the task of defending and further adding to it
