A croaky-voiced Arsene Wenger admits he's 'sad' about the departure of David Moyes at Manchester United
Sporting Lisbon have rejected a £24 million bid from Arsenal for their in-demand midfielder William Carvalho, reports Portuguese newspaper O Jogo. The Portuguese international has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League this year, but most talk has has centred around a potential move to Manchester United. Now Arsenal look as if they are ready to enter the race for Carvalho having contacted Sporting Lisbon to open the bidding at £24 million. However, Sporting officials are reportedly holding out for his full release clause of £37 million. Tough tackling midfielder Carvalho seemed to be a top Manchester United target while David Moyes was in charge but with Louis Van Gaal, Arturo Vidal seems to be top of the wish list at Old Trafford. Both are very similar players, tough-tackling defensive midfielders. Arsenal and Manchester United are equally as desperate to strengthen that area of the squad. Arsene Wenger seemed intent on signing Sami Khedira from Real Madrid, but a deal for the World Cup ...

There have been report going around online media and arsenal website that Arsenal Manager, Arsene Wenger would only extend his contract if the club can lift the FA cup trophy. As a resurgent Arsenal fan, I rather pray for Arsenal to fail in their attempt to break the 9-years trophy less drought to make Wenger park his useless *** out of the club than have them win the cup and watch Wenger give me another heart attack again. His time in arsenal has finally come to an end. I rather have David Moyes that will guarantee me 7th position every season than a greedy and selfish Wenger that careless about what the fan feels to consistently rise our hope for nothing season in season out.

With the confirmation coming out of Old Trafford that David Moyes has been sacked as Manchester United manager, the other 91 clubs in the football league have already announced plans for testimonials to thank him for the work he has done in the last few months. Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinio are just two of the managers that have spent years trying to knock Manchester United from the top two of the Premier League, However David Moyes has shown what a quality manager he is by doing the job in less than a year. Moyes’ farewell tour looks set to start in Manchester itself with Manchester City giving him an open-top bus parade around the city to mark his success. He will then move on to Anfield where he has already been given ‘folk hero’ status by convincing the world keeping Everton mid-table was doing a good job. Arsene Wenger, Gerardo Martino or David Moyes... One of these guys are might lose their job at the end of the season!
Our worst fears have just been realized. Manchester United failing to go past Bayern Munich and make it to the UEFA Champions League last four. Well we knew this may happen save for a miracle as our coach David Moyes (Moyo) is not a footballing tactian, lacks experience, strategy and foresight (like his counterpart at Arsenal, Mr. Arsene Wenger). They are both football geniuses, experts and masters of failure at football's highest level. This is a big tragedy at Manchester United caused by one man, one chief culprit, Sir Alex Ferguson. Surely even if he chose such a novice, there should have been a proper transition so the novice can get a hang of the ropes than throw him into the deep end the way it has been done. Were we expecting instant miracles from this novice? Hence the saying or adage "you reap what you sow". One the other hand, I can't believe that Barcelona failed to go past Atletico Madrid and make it to the last four. Totally shocked. Such is football. Time for an overhaul at Old Trafford. Goo ...

Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey is set for his first competitive action since Boxing Day against Everton after overcoming a thigh injury. Full-back Kieran Gibbs is a doubt with an ankle injury but Nacho Monreal should be available, Everton midfielder Ross Barkley is expected to be fit despite suffering a calf injury against Fulham last week. But captain Phil Jagielka and Steven Pienaar remain absent with hamstring and knee injuries respectively. When Roberto Martinez first met Bill Kenwright he told him he would get Everton into the Champions League. The Toffees chairman liked his ambition but even he wouldn't have been totally convinced. It's only 11 months since Martinez was in charge of Wigan and suffered relegation after defeat to Arsenal; now he knows if his Everton team beat the Gunners, the fight for a top-four berth is well and truly on. That's how far David Moyes' successor has come personally, and also illustrates the strides Everton have taken under his stewardship. Further evidence of that is ...
Q. Why did Mesut Ozil chose Arsenal? A. Arsene Wenger. Whilst money is king in the current game, the manager can also play an important part. Would Mesut Ozil have left Real Madrid to play for David Moyes, Brendan Rodgers or Tim Sherwood? He probably does not even know who they are. Last year, Everton finished 6th in the Premier League. David Moyes then joined Manchester United. He then spent the summer trying, and struggling, to recruit players from Europe. The money was there, Manchester United, one of the biggest names in world football, were Champions, so why did he struggle? My theory is players, when told that David Moyes wanted them at Manchester United, answered ‘David Who?’ – He ended up signing just one player, who used to play for him, and who he did not really want. Another question: Who currently manages the 6th placed team in Spain, Germany, France & Italy?Hint:The clubs Real Sociedad, Borussia Monchengladbach, Marseille & Parma. Not only do you not know, players will not know. Despite ...

Old Trafford Hero Reveals The Blues Trio Which Could Cost Chelsea The Title. Sky Sports pundits Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville both believe that Chelsea’s strikeforce could end up costing them the title. Neville believes that the inadequacies of Chelsea’s strikeforce have helped make them third favourites for the title, arguing that manager Jose Mourinho had failed to tackle the longstanding problem with his summer recruitment. “I think [Chelsea are probably third favourites] after the last two results,” argued Neville. “Other managers in the league –David Moyes and Arsene Wenger – have been criticised for recruitment and getting it wrong in the summer or not having time. “Jose Mourinho put all his eggs in one basket with Wayne Rooney. [He] made the bid for him, thought he was going to get him and thought he had the deal done. “You could tell at the start of the season that he had that glint in his eye that he thought he’d done the business and that he knew what was happening and was ...

Arsenal boss on United's opponents: Bayern are WEAKER this year! "At this stage of the Champions League, it’s very rare that you can say a team will win easily," pondered Arsene Wenger in his Eurosport column while glancing at how Bayern Munich are the overwhelming favourites in their Champions League quarter-final against Manchester United. The recently-crowned Bundesliga kings tackle one of the Premier League's most underwhelming outfits this season and their recent form could seemingly not be more of a contrast as they head in to the first leg, staged at Old Trafford, this evening. Wenger, though, writes that such an underdog status should not be encumbering for David Moyes' men but, instead, they should use it as a motivational ploy - that they can liberate themselves from their domestic strife by battling against the odds in Europe. United - argues Arsene - have nothing to lose. "Today, when you compare Bayern to United, people say that Bayern will qualify but Manchester United still have a lot of ...

There is always a difference between a delayed gratification and an instant gain. In almost all cases, delayed gratification always brings the good... the good that lasts and endures. On the flip side, instant gain brings enormous joy, especially when rivalry, like the stakes, is high. Watching Manchester United played Aston Villa today, I reflected on the very nature of football, over the last twenty years and i was encouraged to quit the recent thought and examination of the potentials of David Moyes as a right choice for a club like the Manchester United FC, especially given the club's recent fortune. I came to see two clear conclusions. One, Sir Alex Ferguson started on a poor note but ended on the highest note attainable in the games. His history shown the belief in the long haul. He demonstrated what delayed gratification brings to a club... history of everlasting joy, large fortune, and a huge customer base, including fans. All indications point to his success as a class-act, which will certainly b ...
Arsene Wenger insists he will not follow former rival Sir Alex Ferguson by nominating who should take over from him as Arsenal manager. The Gunners boss, 64, has yet to sign the offer of a new contract extension past the end of the season, but having just completed 1,000 matches in charge is expected to stay on at the Emirates Stadium. The Arsenal board is said to be acutely aware of the difficulties it could face when eventually having to replace the Frenchman, with the on-going issues for Manchester United manager David Moyes after following in the footsteps of Ferguson all too poignant. "I always said, and you can check that, everybody has his job (at the club). My job is to do well for the team, not to do anything else," he said. Asked if he would be choosing his successor, Wenger insisted: "No." Arsenal remain relaxed about the on-going saga over Wenger's future, comfortable he will commit for next season, with plans already in place for a July friendly in New York. "My word is my word," said Wenger. ...

It goes without question that no one wields the absolute right to win every scuffle they are involved in. With hard work, dedication and due consideration of all the necessary facets required in any battle one is deemed to be a presumed outright winner. As applicable as it may seem in other disciplines one should always reckon that in football, luck and consistency are prerequisites of a successful campaign. This being earmarked as the breakthrough season in terms of the seasoning of talent, prudence in expenditure and modesty in recruitment of finished items into Arsene Wenger's squad, it is far from being a disappointment. Early in the summer so many names like Gonzalo Higuain, Karim Benzema, Angel Di Maria, Wayne Rooney and Luis Suarez among others were linked with possible moves to Arsenal, but surprisingly Mesut Ozil and Matthieu Flamini were the only recruitments. After a prolonged transfer saga Higuain joined Napoli while Carlo Ancelotti decided to retain di Maria and Benzema. David Moyes was reluc ...

Ferguson on Wenger: "His undoubted love of the game was always apparent but his abundant energy and desire over all of those years has allowed him to survive in such an intense profession. "Of course, his ability as a coach, manager and teacher have brought huge successes to Arsenal. However, it is his convictions, beliefs and philosophies that will always remind me that he is a special person. Someone who set out his way at a great football club and produced some wonderful players and teams." David Moyes "People will say I would say this but it shows the value of longevity. You look at the years Brian Clough stayed at Nottingham Forest and Sir Bobby Robson stayed at Ipswich. There is a pattern of success with clubs that keep their managers for a long time." Pepe Mel "First of all congratulations. I've only been in charge for eight games - and I'm in danger for my job! Arsene Wenger is an intelligent manager with a clear idea in his head for the way the team plays." Brendan Rodgers "Inspirational. When he ...
FOOTBALL NOTES: 1. Sincere congratulations to Arsene Wenger on his 1,000th game in charge at Arsenal. Seeing his downcast face on the sidelines always leads to eruptions of mirth among watching football fans. I give him undiluted praise for his constant moaning and excuses, which always give us something to laugh at. For bringing us a smile you deserve respect, Arsene. We'll miss you when you finally quit. 2. Ironically, Manchester United manager David Moyes must be delighted that his top striker Robin Van Persie is injured. Moyes can use it as a (feeble) excuse for when United get thrashed by Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter finals, something that would happen whether Van Persie is fit or not. I have to admit I am almost, almost that is, feeling sorry for him. United have been crawling on the ground half-dead all season but Bayern will supply the final bullet to put them out of their misery. 3. Personally, this weekend I cannot win. A draw might be best. I am talking about my hometown team C ...

Arsene Wenger 1996 and 2014. David Moyes 2014. At least it took Wenger 10 or more years on the job to go grey. A period laden with trophies. At this rate, David Moyes will go grey by May 2014.

Great article this morning from the United ARMY of Bogor: "FANS SOCMED" and HABIT of LOOKING for the League to Defeat MISTAKE-9 suffered by Manchester United last night. This time from Liverpool, the eternal rival. The final score was very fantastic: 0-3! This season, losing every week has become a regular thing. Manchester United fans patience are tested under the leadership of new Manager. Old Trafford is now not only haunted for the opponent, but also to United's own. It is very difficult to win there. Even magical chants from the stands were not enough now to help awaken the giant from his sleep. Maybe there is something wrong with Manchester United this season. But we are the real supporter not sure exactly where that error. Our assessment is based on a review only as an amateur from the surface. Analysis of football observers cannot be a reference. There are factors that are more important than just great and technical issues. But again, we don't know what it is. If talking is normative, David Moyes ...

Chelsea have been offered the chance to sign Bayern Munich star Mario Mandzukic, but it could spark a Premier League transfer tussle between them and two of their biggest rivals in Arsenal and Manchester United. Jose Mourinho is on the lookout for some more firepower in the centre-forward positions and has been told Mandzukic is ready to leave the Allianz Arena in the summer, according to The Sun. However, the report also claims both Arsene Wenger and David Moyes could be ready to step in and pitch the benefits of Emirates Stadium and Old Trafford respectively if it looks like an offer will be made out of Stamford Bridge. Though it is the Blues whom have been given the first green light by the Croatia international's camp. Arsenal and Chelsea are in similar situations in that both clubs have what many believe to be insufficient personnel in the centre-forward position. Mourinho has a number of options in the form of Fernanado Torres, Samuel Eto'o and Demba Ba, but none of them have been able to consistent ...

Cameroonian international midfielder Alex Song has sat down with beIN Sport this week and, despite the fact that the Barcelona midfielder failed to talk about Manchester United or David Moyes throughout his interview, gossip columns are now linking the ex-Arsenal man to Old Trafford. Song has a contract with Barcelona until June 2107, however few believe the ex-Gunner will stay at the Camp Nou for that long. According to the Rumour Mill Song is on the shortlist of expendable players at Barca, and many expect the Catalans to get rid of him this summer. The 26-year-old has started just nine La Liga matches this term, following 17 starts in the 2012-13 campaign. Talking to beIN Sport, Song stated: If I leave Barcelona, it will be to return to the Premier League. I will return to England one day, that’s for sure. He (Arsene Wenger) was like a father to me. He spoke a lot with me when I arrived to Arsenal. I wanted to renew my contract with Arsenal but in that case I would have regretted not joining Barcelon ...
Arsene Wenger is not interested in taking Robin Van Persie back to Arsenal. The Manchester United striker could be on the move this summer and has been heavily linked with a return to the Emirates. But it is understood that the Gunners boss has ruled it out even though agents are trying to push a deal. The Frenchman recently refused to comment on it publicly when quizzed which only heightened the speculation. Van Persie, 30, left the Emirates in 2012 after releasing a statement questioning the club's ambition and has become public enemy No1 among fans. The Dutchman won the Premier League title in his first season at Old Trafford but has struggled with injuries this term and several top clubs are now eyeing him for a summer move. Italian giants Juventus are as keen on Van Persie as they were when he left Arsenal but United outbid them after signing him for £24m. Exclusive: Arsenal to Sell Pair Ahead Of £18m Bid to Re-Sign Robin Van Persie as Wenger Prepares to Make Room for Man United Striker.Arsene Wenger is preparing a summer bid to re-sign Man United striker Robin Van Persie following reports that the Dutchman isn’t happy with life at Old Trafford under boss David Moyes. CaughtOffside understands that Arsenal manager Wenger is to launch a bid in the region of £18m for 30 year old marksman Van Persie who appears open to the prospect of a move back to the Emirates Stadium. Van Persie is one of a number of senior Man United stars who have questioned the ability of David Moyes to lead the Premier League title holders and the very real prospect of failure to secure a Champions League berth will further fuel speculation of a possible summer departure. Robin Van Persie " I have had a lot of changes in coaches over the last couple of seasons.I was eight years with Arsene Wenger, at Arsenal, and, with Holland, it was a similar steady situation with Bert Van Marwijk. Now, in the last 18 months, I changed from Arsene to Sir Alex and now to David Moyes. With Holland, after Van Marwijk, I have Louis Van Gaal, who is a fantastic coach.I won’t put one above the other, but I have learnt really good things from each one of them.Certain managers can hit the right nerve with a player. They have that quality. I can never stroll through a game. I play – it’s that kind of intensity. After 99 out of 100 matches, I am totally exhausted because I want to give everything I have.I will never moan about it. I have to handle it like all the other players, but I can tell you that top-level sport is not really healthy."

The rumours around Robin Van Persie’s departure next season has been put to rest by David Moyes. The manager spoke in the pre conference held today. He expects RVP to stay and also chose to support him in his position. Though some Manchester United fans feel that RVP is already 30 and he must be off loaded. If you say so. Ryan Giggs is 40. Will you plan to off load him? (Even if you get a reasonable bid from others. No one would want to off load him) Van Persie is doing brilliantly in the field. He has the best Match – Goal ratio in United and was also the top scorer of last season. He is very much needed for us and has a vast experience in Premier League. His form has definitely dipped following his injuries and the criticism he is facing from the fans. But if given support he will be back to his best and treat us with some exceptional display. The Team's morale is low and that has lead to poor results. They have no will to fight back. In such situations, we need to utilize the more experienced playe ...

Man Utd happy with 0-0 draw at Arsenal FC Manchester United manager David Moyes said his side were in control of Wednesday night's goalless draw against Arsenal at Emirates Stadium. "It was a fair result in a tight game," he told BT Sport.
Arsenal, United draw; Reds, Spurs win 13 February 2014, 00:09 Arsenal missed the change to go top of the Premier League as Liverpool moved to within four points of the summit on Wednesday ahead of their FA Cup clash with the Gunners. Arsene Wenger's men were held to a goalless draw at home to champions Manchester United while Liverpool had to twice come from behind before Steven Gerrard's stoppage-time penalty sealed a 3-2 win away to bottom-of-the table Fulham. Arsenal were left a point behind leaders Chelsea on a night when title rivals Manchester City saw their match at home to Sunderland postponed because of severe weather battering the north- west of England that also saw Everton's game against Crystal Palace called off. And the draw did little for United's fading hopes of claiming a Champions League place, with David Moyes's side now 11 points adrift of the top four. Blues will allow Thibaut Courtois join Atletico Madrid permanently According to reports, Chelsea have agreed a sensational swap deal with Spanish side Atletico Madrid which will see Diego Costa come to Stamford Bridge and Thibaut Courtois remain in Spain on a permanent basis. Jose Mourinho is desperate to land a world-class striker and could sweeten the deal with Madrid by allowing them to keep the star-goalkeeper on a permanent basis. Courtois, who has spent the last three seasons on loan at Madrid, is keen to remain in Spain and with Madrid due to worries that he will not be first-choice goalkeeper at The Bridge as Mourinho still prefers to pick Petr Cech. This news will come as a massive blow to both David Moyes and Arsene Wenger as they have both been scouting the Brazilian-born striker, who has chosen to play for Spain. The move is likely to take place in the Summer as Mourinho eyes reinforcements up-front and Courtois wants the promise of first-team football, something he won't get at Stamford Bridg ...
Jose Mourinho hits back at Arsene Wenger Arsenal manager voiced his displeasure at Chelsea selling Juan Mata Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has hit back at Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger after he claimed that selling Juan Mata to Manchester United is 'unfair' on other teams in the Premier League title-race. Wenger claimed that Mourinho tactically sold the Spaniard, who won Chelsea's player of the year two years in a row, to United because he knows that David Moyes' men have to face all of Chelsea's title rivals and do not have to play each other. The Blues boss has responded to Wenger's comments by saying that Mata was available to anyone at the price offered, and also admitted that he wasn't surprised by Wenger's comments as 'he always complains'. 'Wenger complaining is normal because he always does,' said Mourinho. 'It's in his nature. If it was Arsenal or City or Liverpool and Juan desired to go, we would do the same. Wenger backed David Moyes to ride out United's rough patch Arsene Wenger : "You have to survive massive disappointments and keep your belief high in what you do because to win is easy for everybody. "How to live with defeat, that is what managers are about, and David Moyes is strong enough. For me he deals with the situation very well. "They go through a difficult moment in their season but they can still come back. They are in a strong position in the Champions League and they just bought a great player(Juan Mata), so Man United has still to be considered a threat."

The manner of the Chelsea coach's latest triumph was not the most spectacular aspect of the victory, however. No, the standout stat of the weekend is that Mourinho has won 100 league matches with the Blues quicker than any other manager in English history. Sir Alex Ferguson, Arsene Wenger, Rafa Benitez, Kenny Dalglish, Gerard Houllier, Kevin Keegan, David O'Leary (a surprise one), David Moyes and six others have all reached 100 wins. But no one has done it as fast as Mourinho. Indeed, the Portuguese has managed the record in 142 games, while his nearest rival Fergie did it in 162. Wenger, meanwhile, did it in 179. All of this, bear in mind, while STILL being unbeaten at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League... Love him or loathe him, Mourinho's Chelsea record is certainly impressive. "Of course it is nice and 100 victories in the Premier League is obviously one more fantastic thing for my career," Mourinho said after Sunday's win over United. "But the most important thing is really to win the match. "It i ...

So far, David Moyes has a better win% record (57.58) than any manager in United’s history apart from Alex Ferguson (59.67). Moyes’ win% with Everton was much lower though (41%). Moyes won 18 of his first 31 games in charge at United — a better record than Sir Matt Busby (15), Ron Atkinson (14) and Sir Alex Ferguson (12). United have gone out of the FA Cup at the third round under Moyes — something which only happened once in Alex Ferguson’s 27 years in charge. United are currently seventh. They haven’t been as low at this stage of the season since the 1988/89 campaign. Only Arsene Wenger, Alex Ferguson and Harry Redknapp have managed more Premier League games than David Moyes. Tim Sherwood, David Moyes & Sam Allardyce in a pub. Each buys a round of drinks but only Arsene Wenger can get the 4th round
Will Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger get his 'special' striker and who will it be? Will David Moyes break the bank for a big signing?
Arsene Wenger is the 4th highest paid manager in the world. David Moyes is 7th. Pep Guardiola at Bayern is highest paid.
Astonishing fact of the day number two: If Malky Mackay had left Cardiff City as expected at the weekend, Arsene Wenger would have been in his job longer than all of the other manager's in the top flight combined. Also, David Moyes is the eleventh longest serving manager in the Premier League, in terms of current jobs.
Manchester United: Title rivals will be nervous as momentum builds Manchester United did not make a complete case for normal service being resumed by beating Arsenal - but a glance at recent results and the Premier League table suggests the obituaries can stay locked in the drawer. The noise levels around Old Trafford, and the joy that greeted the final whistle, were an accurate measure of this game's significance to United and David Moyes. United needed three points to stop Arsenal extending their lead over them to difficult, if not quite impossible, proportions. Their still relatively new manager needed a victory in a game of such status after previous opportunities against Chelsea, Liverpool and -desperately and embarrassingly -Manchester City yielded only one point. And both duly arrived courtesy of Robin Van Persie's soaring 27th minute header from Wayne Rooney's corner. If the striker is, as Arsene Wenger suggests, still "an Arsenal man" then he has a funny way of showing it. Van Persie scored in bo ...

Sir Alex Ferguson, Arsene Wenger and David Moyes caught heading to the Christmas markets...sort of
Football - Premier League Backroom staff the problem at United, not Sir Alex The problem at Manchester United is not the overbearing shadow of Sir Alex Ferguson, as suggested by Roy Keane. Under Sir Alex there was a defined system in place - Ferguson managed and his coaches coached. Now there is a new man at the helm and he doesn’t know how to get the players to respond in the same fashion – it takes years. The players are struggling to react to the coaching and the way David Moyes wants them to play – they can’t deal with it. Moyes struggled to sign players last summer and they will certainly struggle to sign new players this summer if they don’t make the Champions League. I don’ think that Sir Alex’s presence is having an effect – if anything it is a poor transfer strategy that is having the biggest impact on the club. Football at the highest level is increasingly being played through midfield and United have been lacking there for the last few years. They have relied on old heads to get ...

Head-to-head The Red Devils have lost just one of their last 12 league and cup games against the Gunners (W9, D2, L1). This will be Arsene Wenger's 50th game against United as Arsenal manager. He has won 15 of the previous 49 (excluding penalty shoot-outs). Manchester United - The Red Devils have won back-to-back Premier League games for the first time under manager David Moyes. Fourteen of United's last 19 league goals have been scored or assisted by Robin Van Persie or Wayne Rooney. Patrice Evra will become the third Frenchman to make 250 Premier League appearances, following in the footsteps of Arsenal duo Thierry Henry and Patrick Vieira. Arsenal - Victory would give Arsenal their highest ever points tally after 11 Premier League matches. Arsenal are the only Premier League club to have scored in every game this season. The last team to shut-out the Gunners was David Moyes' Everton in a 0-0 draw at the Emirates on 16 April. Prior to this weekend, only five players had assisted four or more Premier Lea ...

AH NEWS-Wenger: Referees have it easier now ! Arsène Wenger strides confidently into Old Trafford this weekend, wanting to welcome David Moyes to “our world of pressure” and wondering whether there was also a world of pressure for officials when Sir Alex Ferguson was in charge. “That’s a question you shouldn’t ask me but the referees,’’ said Wenger waspishly. For 17 years, the Arsenal manager has been visiting Old Trafford, doing well initially but with only one success in his past 11 Premier League trips there. The long, glowering shadow that Ferguson cast over the dugouts is no more, the Scot having retired from the tumult to a quiet seat in the stands. It will feel “a bit strange” without his old sparring partner, admitted Wenger. Arsene Wenger walks past the referee | AP Referees who endured Ferguson’s ire will certainly note the change. Old Trafford is less intimidating without Ferguson. Wenger, a manager of 20-20 vision when it comes to refereeing mistakes against Arsenal, has n ...
Moyes: Let's put on a show David Moyes wants his Manchester United team to “put on a good show” when Premier League leaders Arsenal visit the home of the champions on Sunday. The Gunners have set the early pace in this season’s title race and, as a result, some bookmakers have priced Arsene Wenger’s high-flying side as favourites to win this weekend’s seismic encounter at Old Trafford. However, whilst addressing the media during his weekly press conference at the Aon Training Complex, Moyes rejected such talk and explained that United are feeling confident of extending an eight-match unbeaten run in all competitions. “I said at the start that Arsenal have got the same chance as the rest of us to win the league,” the boss told. “It's an open Premier League. They've had a really good start but it will only be decided at end of the season who will win it. We'll wait and see until then." Expanding on his point, Moyes said: “Arsenal are coming to play the champions. They're in the top positio ...
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has urged doubters to David Moyes time, saying the Manchester United boss is "handling the situation very well" at Old Trafford.
CAN UNITED STOP ARSENAL? HOW THEY CAN Fresh from beating German giants Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League the Arsenal juggernaut will roll into Old Trafford looking toend Manchester United's recent Premier League resurgence and cement their own title ambitions by beating the reigning champions. Arsene Wenger's men have impressed with nearly every performance since their 3-1 opening day defeat to Aston Villa, brushing aside rivals Tottenham 1-0 and most recently triumphing 2-0 against Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium. Somehow the Gunners managed to stop the blossoming partnership of Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge while attacking with their usual verve and flair, but just how can David Moyes' Red Devils stop Arsenal from adding another scalp to their collection. Fellaini must be on form The key for Arsenal so far this season has been their ability to win the battle in midfield and Manchester United will have to be at their best in the centre of the park if they are to get anything out of the match ...
ARSENAL WARM UP NICELY FOR Man Utd! Arsenal stun Borussia Dortmund 1-0 to complete a double over two German Champions League finalists in a calendar year away. Amazing Aaron "Rambo" Ramsey 13th goal of the season lifts the Gunners top of the table nine points jointly with Napoli but the English league leaders have a superior goal difference. Meanwhile, Chelsea completed a miserable night for German opposition with a clinical 3-0 scourging of Schalke. Sameul Eto'o Fisi grabbed a double and Demba Ba opened his account under Jose Mourinho. Arsenal play Man Utd on Sunday in a titanic league clash. Arsene Wenger's boys can effectively knock out David Moyes troops out of the title race with a win at Old Trafford. Arsenal have 25 points and Utd 17. The 8 point gap can become 11 and insurmountable.

Manchester United v Real Sociedad (1945 BST) Sir Alex Ferguson is at Old Trafford again tonight. I wonder what David Moyes thinks about that imposing shadow being constantly on his shoulder? Moyes will be hoping for a big result following Saturday's draw against Southampton, which has seen many write off their Premier League title challenge. Not Arsene Wenger though. "Are Man United out of the title race? No, but of course 10 points starts to be a little gap," said the Arsenal manager. "They have big players, big experience and they are a big club." Arsenalmanager Arsene Wenger has hinted that he may make a January move for Manchester Unitedstriker Wayne Rooney, according to reports from the Daily Star. The Gunners were linked with the England international throughout the summer, but failed to secure a deal. ‘Wazza’ was believed to be unsettled at Old Trafford after being excluded from the starting line-up under former boss Sir Alex Ferguson. However, when asked about a possible move for Rooney this winter, Wenger refused to rule out the possibility: “I will wait now until December to see what we need in the squad.” Wenger went on to say that much depends on the form of his current strikers: “We spoke about (Nicklas) Bendtner, (Yaya) Sanogo, (Olivier) Giroud. Arsene Wenger playing mind games withManchester United's Moyes already? Arsene Wenger made some interesting comments earlier this week regarding Wayne Rooney. Arsene Wenger's admission once again this week that he 'would not turn down' the option to sign Wayne Rooney createddozens of headlines, but his other comments regarding the player were just as interesting. Famed for his 'mind games' with Sir Alex Ferguson during the height of the Arsenal-Manches ter United rivalry, it could appear that the Arsenal boss is renewing the spark between the two clubs. Ferguson and Wenger had struck up quite a friendship by the end of the Scotsman's tenure at United, one which most Gooners would agree got too cosy, with the Arsenal boss agreeing to sell hisRobin Van Persie to his rival last summer. Taking Rooney in the other direction would wipe out much of the criticism Wenger endured in the wake of that, andhe is already applying the verbal pressure on new United boss David Moyes. Here is the rest of what the Frenchm ...

English football has lost all faith in stability By Eurosport | Jim White – 1 hour 37 minutes ago * Email0 * Share0 * * At the time of writing, the plans for the Stoke Sentinel’s Tony Pulis 16-page souvenir supplement were still up in the air. But doubtless the production will be straight forward, without frill or artifice, getting to the point with minimum fuss, a route one publication. Arsenal fans may disagree, but we’ll miss Pulis. In his tracksuit and cap he was the manager who most resembled a touchline dad, ranting and shouting his way through a Premier League season. In press conferences he always stood up, perhaps to convey a message of urgency and momentum. Either that, or he suffered from some vicious piles. And now he has gone, the Premier League managerial landscape has altered irrevocably. With Sir Alex Ferguson and David Moyes also taking their leave from long-held sinecures, Arsene Wenger is now the only manager in the country’s top division who was appointed before 2010. Indeed, a ...

Arsenal are reportedly eyeing David Moyes in Summer move to replace Prof Arsene Wenger.
I have said for some time that I think Arsene Wenger will leave Arsenal in the summer. For me the day they lost to Swansea at The Emirates and seeing his reaction at the end of the game, suggested that his heart wasn`t in the job. Whilst it would have been nice to have had Guardiola and I thought Mourinho may have been a possible candidate, I think that David Moyes at Everton may be the ideal manager to take the Gunners forwards. Out of contract in the summer, he has spent 10 years achieving beyond his means on Merseyside. He loves a club where he can just get on with the job with no interference from the board. I think Arsenal`s board could do worse that make two key calls in the next few days. One to thank Arsene Wenger for all he has done at the club and the second to Merseyside asking Mr Moyes to name his wage.
