As the Republican Party has move d farther and farther to the right, I have found—
Just had to share this truth from Robert...I agree the Republican Party isn't the GOP anymore. Robert Shepherd shared Occupy Democrats's photo. Head in the sand? Some Republicans woke up. (I was one) Yes, I am a lifelong Republican, but now vote all Democrat. Have I shifted liberal? Hey even Sarah Palin blasted the male chauvinists and rape-excusers. They have driven out Olympia Snowe and Jim Jeffords and Richard Lugar and Jim Leach and the late Arlen Specter. And just look at all the former Republicans who now went for Obama, Colin Powell and Larry Pressler and Charlie Crist of Florida, Ron Reagan, Lincoln Chafee and Chuck Hagel, Ray Lahood and Robert Gates. Then there's Ed Rendell and the evangelical Frank Schaeffer. Bob Dole said not even REAGAN himself would make it into today's Republican Party. Jon Huntsman said Republicans had better change or they'll be extinct. Republican governor Bobby Jindal said he wishes the Republicans would quit being the party of stupid. Personally, I wish they would pass ...
Okay, many of you will hate me when I post this, but it is really time we get honest about our politics. Many ask me how we "fix" what is wrong in our nation. Step one is to stop lumping everyone into a single pile if dung and thinking anything more than chaos will be the product. First, everyone who is in the Republican Party is not a RINO (Republican in name only). Libertarians came up with that title to blanket indict all Republicans as being "just like Democrats" and alleging "there's not a dimes worth of difference" between Republicans and Democrats. If we are honest, we know that either we are lying when we say that, or our frustration is talking in most cases. Indeed, if that was true, we would have already seen all of Obama's agenda passed and implemented. We wouldn't have ObamaCare--we would have full blown communism in the area of health care (aka "single payer"). The fact is, we do have some few Republicans who would be comfortable being Democrats (Arlen Specter demonstrated that); but people l ...
I believe that the Republican Party is collapsing and everyone should jump ship. If there was leadership in that party... (Ok John Mccain will do) they would do one of three things...1 renounce their party, admit that the party failed so bad it deserves the death penalty! 2 give up your position! 3 pull an Arlen specter and thus keep your position!! Three choices. pick one. The Republican Party shall be DEAD!! IT'S a DISGRACE to be a party that LIES for votes. A party that is actively involved in the suppression of our most fundamental right our right to vote! How in this day is it becoming harder to cast ones vote?? We need to ask why!! Tea party green party *** Become independent just tear up your voting card ( if you don't have one shame on you and don't bother commencing in this message) and renounce the party!
2 of the 7 types of politicians follow. For the other 5 click on the article. REPUBLICAN Libtards: The Liberal Democrat in Disguise. You will typically find these ‘Yankee’ types in the North East. They are essentially the same as The Ignorant Do Gooder Libtard, with the only difference being that they are members of the Republican Party instead. These self righteous Political Puritans see it as their noble calling to water down the “extremism” of the Southern and Western Republicans. Examples: Olympia Snowe, Susan Collins, Mike Bloomberg, Arlen Specter (deceased), Scott Brown, Chris Christie REPUBLICAN Moderates: The Gutless, Spineless, Supine “Moderate.” Very similar to the Careerist, the “Moderate” is driven by fear of the liberal news media. He may actually be quite conservative at heart, but the minute The New York Times or Washington Post fires a few warning shots over any given issue, the “moderate” instantly soils his panties, caves in, bends over and begs to cut a deal with ...
Why does anyone pay attention to Chris Christie, and why has anyone paid attention to Strom Thurmond or Jesse Helms, or Arlen Specter? Christie is behaving as though he’ll switch from the Republican Party to the Democratic Party, and Strom Thurmond and Jesse Helms switched in the other direction when Kennedy gave lip service to civil rights, and Arlen Specter switched with Thurmond and Helms before switching back! Partisan gridlock is from lack of integrity. www.hitrt.com
Russell T. Hicks I have been a Conservative Republican since 1983 and I would not have anything to do with any of that trash. It's time for the Republican Party to re-tool following the lead of Arlen Specter, John Mccain, Colin Powell and George Bush Sr.
Carmen De Stefano Here is 'The Undeniable Truth'; Obama had a fillibuster-proof Senate for a total of 72 days...Ted Kennedy got sick and was unable to fulfill his obligations, and then died; The Norm Coleman and Al Franken situation where Franken was not seated for several months due to lawsuits contesting the election by Coleman...Arlen Specter changed parties but was not instumental by his own personal choice, in cooperating with any proposed legislation during that period...Barack Obama still mistakenly believed, to his great discredit, that the Republican Party was going to operate as a governing "Loyal Oppostion"...I think he might have finally learned his lesson...
Pennsylvania Senator Arlen Specter may have been called an opportunist for switching from the Republican Party to the Democratic Party near the end of his long career in the U.S. Senate. But was his switch a sign of political expediency or the result of a Republican Party that had simply moved too f...
Remember Dwight Eisenhower, Nelson Rockefeller, Jacob Javits, Mark Hatfield, Olympia Snowe, Lincoln Chafee, Norm Coleman, Gordon Smith, Ted Stevens, Pete Domenici, Arlen Specter and Richard Lugar? They were the respected stalwarts of the GOP whether or not we agreed with them on any given issue. What happened to their legacy? How did the Republican Party morph into the cacophony of the voices of Sarah Palin, Rick Santorum, Michelle Bachmann, Darrel Issa. Peter King, Jan Brewer, Jim DeMint, Eric Cantor, Todd Akin, Joe Arpaio, Grover Norquist and Rush Limbaugh? Most savvy pundits agree that even Ronald Regan, Gerald Ford, Richard Nixon, George Romney and the first President Bush would not be welcomed candidates by current party criteria. The American public would be better served by a healthy two-party government working together for them. Barring an unforeseen calamity, President Obama is likely to be re-elected. Despite the demonizing rhetoric to the contrary, he is a moderate centrist in many ways simil ...
