Evening of catching up with and Ill Manors- Plan B, AM- Arctic Monkeys, Reflektor-Arcade Fire.
Last week, The Black Keys pre-released a new single, titled Fever, as a teaser to their upcoming album, Turn Blue. Naturally, I was very excited to hear a new track from this iconic garage Rock n Roll band. However, as I waited for the buffer icon to deliver that well- known, bluesy Rock n Roll sound, that I have come to find comfort in, over the course of six albums, I was surprised by a new glitchy, synth sound, overlaying the traditional drum, vocals and electric guitar. This unexpected shift in sound, from such and established band, leads me to believe that this could in fact be a very crucial turning point for The Black Keys. This shift resonates with bands like Arcade Fire, the Arctic Monkeys and Radiohead. These are examples of bands that went from and unrefined, raw sound to a more polished, some might say, commercial sound. This transition that occurs within a band, is not exclusive to modern, 21st century music, but can be seen in Bob Dylan’s infamous shift towards a more electronic sound. ...

Hello everyone, I'm Trynne and I'm doing the FYP program next year! I'm from Hampton, NB and I'm coming straight from high school. I love reading everything, writing (novels and scripts), music: listening (Arcade Fire, Mumford and Sons, Vampire Weekend, Arctic Monkeys) and playing (cello), film (too many... The Grand Budapest Hotel was pretty fantastic, though) and screenprinting. I like Netflix a lot. In school I'm involved with drama (King's seems to be where High School Drama Kids go when they die. Which is cool. I'm looking forward to being in drama kid heaven), choir, and Reach for the Top. My favourite classes were English, Sociology, and History. Can't wait to meet you all if you for real next year!

I love exploring anything and everything. 6. I plan to major in anthropology! 7.
