Paul the Apostle (AD 5 – AD 67; variously referred to as the Apostle Paul or Saint Paul ), also known as Saul of Tarsus, is perhaps the most influential early Christian missionary.

This is a spiritual battle that I have to fight which is going to wage for my soul. A new religion that link Islam to God's Old covenant is against Christian faith. Paul states a warning that we must "Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil" Ephesians 6:11. Why? Because the Bible declares that "He that hath received his testimony (Christ's testimony) hath set to his SEAL that God is TRUE" John 3:33. I don't care if he is Brian Houston of Hillsong or an angel from heaven who is preaching another gospel, Apostle Paul said, "Let him be accursed" Galatians 1:8. Christianity is founded on the truth that we are "Justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus" Romans 3:24. Christians are the redeemed. Redeemed by the precious blood of the Lamb. I know my Abba Father. He is my Heavenly Father. My Father in Heaven sent His only begotten Son, Jesus. His Son was sent to be the redeemer of sinners. This is a rather long posting but I felt it worthwhile. Dalene and I went through Global Legacy's two year "Leadership Development Program". We now are doing at New Life the year long "Kingdom Living Course", an interactive, group-based equipping module that looks at the 10 cultural themes that facilitate a kingdom culture within a persons and church. Paul, the director of LDP who wrote the below article impacted us as leaders and continues to do so. I have been reading the letters to the Corinthian church recently, and I smile to myself that I would also be writing letters to churches. I am not, just to be clear, saying that I am remotely close to the Apostle Paul. But the similarity of name, and the journey the Lord has led me on in life, made me smile to myself. Take a look at your circumstances. God often clearly demonstrates His plan for our lives by lining up circumstances in obvious ways. And He also shows us what His will is NOT for us to do in that same way. It is not His will for you to take the job that is not offered to you. If you are 5’ 6” tall and weigh 125 lbs., it is not likely that God has created you to play professional football. The Bible has many wonderful stories and testimonies of individuals faith and victories in the face of adversity. For example, Noah and the flood, Abarham leaving from amongst his own, Moses Leading The Children of Israel to the Promise land, Joshua and his Military victories, Daniel in the lions den, The three Hebrew boys in the furance fire, Apostle Paul healing the sick, and there are many other individuals who have amazing stories of faith and victory in the face of adversity. I am asking all saints who have similar stories of faith and victory to share them for the future generations that will come after us. I just finished Galations again, this time in the ESV; and saw some things I haven't seen before! Read what Paul has to say to the Galations about them observing dietary and 'ceremonial' laws, not to mention the "Judaizers" additional requirement to observe "Days, Months, Seasons, and Years (we won't get into circumcision!). [Galations 4: 10 , 5:1] It seems to me that these 'laws' forfeit the gospel of 'justification' by faith ALONE, In Jesus ALONE! Christ has set us FREE from Jewish ceremonial laws and regulations; but, of course, not the 'law of love' and the moral laws of Moses! So, as a Gentile Christian, under the FREEDOM of the New Covenant that Jesus established with both Jews and Gentiles, I'm not BOUND to these rules and regulations, but FREE (and now ABLE) to follow God's 'holy requirements' in my heart in the Holy Spirit! THE HEBREW ROOTS MOVEMENT – ANOTHER FALSE GOSPEL? One very clear aim of the Hebrew Roots movement is to drag you away from the finished work of the cross of Christ, and to drag you all the way back to Mount Sinai and place the yoke of the Law, (“Torah”), around your neck. In Romans 7:17 we find that even the Apostle Paul struggled with sin in his life. It is a daily struggle that we cannot win on our own. When we project the image that we are above sin and sinners to others, we are losing. We are losing the ability to speak to people where they are. We are losing for the Kingdom of God. We should humble ourselves, because we are servants of the King. We are servants to lost people. We are serving the Gospel message to them.

Luke Luke was the only Gentile author of any part of the New Testament.  He was the “beloved physician” (Col. 4:14), a close friend and companion of the Apostle Paul. We don’t know anything about his younger life or conversion…but we do know that he was not an eyewitness of the life of Jesus (:1:2).  Luke wrote both this Gospel and the book of Acts.  He accompanied Paul on his missionary journeys and was with him at the time of his martyrdom (2 Tim. 4:11).  We have no details on his later life. Hi All. Tomorrow is the Lord's day and all over the land church doors will be opening for folks to come in and worship Jesus. If you frequent a local church be sure to get up bright and early and prepare to assemble yourself with others of like mind. Find a pastor who preaches from the Bible and lifts up the name of Jesus. So, when I am not at work, home, with family or at church I like to volunteer at Amazing Grace (of Dalton's Food Pantry). They just started a Men's Bible Study on Thursdays a few weeks ago. Though we started out in Ephesians, the open discussion took us in many interesting directions. Ephesians is thought to be about the disciple-making church because of the instructions the Apostle Paul gives about use of gifts and pastors-teachers equipping the congregation for the Lord's work. The sad reality is that too many people want the pastors to do all the work - because "that's what we pay them for..." One interesting tangent we took off on concerned worship -what is it? Obviously the musical instruments cannot worship God, but they can be tools used in worship. Many churches call the music part of the service - the worship and even have worship pastors. Some churches don't use music instruments and just have congregational singing. My personal opinion is that music is only a part of worship - the whole service ...
David Hogan, a mighty man of God, how do I know? Because he is teaching the Truth, that is the Word of GOD. He doesn't add, he doesn't lessen it, teach me, breaking each verse and revelation just popped up in my mind. The verse that I already read but never thought about it that way. What are your plans in life? Why are you doing the things you do today? What comes to your mind when such plans fail? Many times I have read and heard the phrase, "ALL THINGS HAPPEN FOR A REASON." But as I think about it a question remains, "FOR WHAT REASON?". Even though how good our plan is if WE DON'T LOVE GOD, such plans won't work as GOOD as it should be. Apostle Paul in his letter to the Romans said, "AND WE KNOW THAT ALL THINGS WORK TOGETHER FOR GOOD TO THEM THAT L-O-V-E GOD, TO THEM WHO ARE CALLED ACCORDING TO HIS PURPOSE." (8:28). Hard times are going to come in the life of every believer. The study of God's Word is a lifetime of knowledge, wisdom, guidance and peace that never stops giving. When a storm of life moves through, I like to read about Job, Joseph and even the Apostle Paul to remind me how much worse my storms could be and Christ would remain by my side. Whose Pattern Do I Fit Into? We all want God's will to be experienced in the life of others and for ourselves. But how can God's will be experienced in one's life? In Romans 12:1-2 the Apostle Paul tells us how this can be a reality in our lives. But there is a flip side to this, many Christians have spent years going to church, they might have been raised in church. They listen to Christian radio, and watch Christian TV and find that their lives are not changing and not experiencing God's will in spite that they are absorbing more and more of the Bible. Some take online Bible courses, or study in a Bible college and or seminary and graduate with a degree, but they are still "worldly" and not living a life experiencing God's will. I just asked the question, “If you could only give two Bible verses to an unsaved person, what would they be?” Thank you for such wonderful responses from so many. Here are my thoughts on this subject. If I was restricted to just two Bible verses I would give Matthew 5:28: “But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart” (I change this slightly when I’m speaking to a woman). And then John 3:3: “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” The reason I would give these two verses, is because I want to show the sinner his true state (his disease), so that he will see his need of the cure. Lets continue to embrace PATIENCE Regardless of what tries your patience, remember that patience is a virtue. That means it's a good thing. When you choose to be patient, you are choosing to do right. But why is patience right? You probably know the answer already, don't you? (Careful-don't get impatient!) Patience is right because God is patient. According to the apostle Paul, he has shown "great patience with even the worst sinners" (1 Timothy 1:16). He is patient with you. He's never given up on you. He's never quit loving you and helping you. And because God is patient, you should be patient, too, because patience is a virtue.

God's people live in hope. they base their lives on the promise that God's original design and purpose will not be crushed under the terrible load of sin, rebellion, and condemnation. Instead, because of Christ, they look forward to the day when they will enter a new world to live with God forever. PINK ELEPHANTS? Alright, a little mental exercise: I want you to NOT THINK about pink elephants... So, how did that go for you? Yeah, that makes it almost impossible. Our brains are wired to be able to FOCUS. The problem can be when we are trying to win a mental battle over some unhealthy thought pattern (i.e. constant guilt, lust, anxiety, anger), and that FOCUS keeps us in a negative mental loop. When I was in college and struggling with some pretty deep depression I remember saying to myself, "Just STOP thinking about it!" But this really didn't help. Just finished reading a passage of Scripture that brought to mind a playground scene I experienced as a boy… They were choosing up sides for a softball game. Two playground leaders – really good players – began the process of selecting their teams. First of all the best were chosen – the most talented – the most popular. What Is Truth?” THE two men facing each other could scarcely have been more dissimilar. One was a politician who was cynical, ambitious, wealthy, ready to do anything to advance his own career. The other was a teacher who spurned wealth and prestige and was prepared to sacrifice his life to save the lives of others. Needless to say, these two men did not see eye to eye! On one matter in particular, they disagreed absolutely—the matter of truth. The men were Pontius Pilate and Jesus Christ. Jesus was standing before Pilate as a condemned criminal. Why? BALANCING KNOWLEDGE AND LOVE "Now...we know that we have all knowledge. Knowledge makes arrogant, but love edifies" (I Corinthians 8:1). Finding the balance between truth and love was a hard-fought challenge for the Apostle Paul. You can see it in Acts 9 where Paul is the newly converted preacher, fresh in from the cold, bursting with energy and overflowing with Bible insights and strong convictions. There, we are given a record of some of the exploits of great men of faith in the Old Testament - shutting lions' mouths, raising the dead, etc. Jacob's name appears in the list too - and what do you think is recorded of him? "He worshipped, leaning upon the top of his staff" (v. 21). It looks quite incongruous to include something like that in a chapter full of spectacular events! What Jacob did certainly does not look like a “miracle of faith”. But it was. It was perhaps a greater miracle than the other miracles recorded in the chapter. The staff had become necessary to Jacob, because his thigh had been dislocated at Peniel. There are lot of things that Apostle Paul wrote which are hard to fathom. How can somebody be crucified and yet be alive? A crucified fellow is bound to die; but in Galatians 2:20, Paul says “I am crucified with Christ, nevertheless I live”. The question asked in class last week was, "If you could go back to any point in history to meet someone and witness one event, what event would you want to see?" The only qualifier was it could not be Jesus and his crucifixion/resurrection. Christian Students Can Reach out to New Christians When you’re a university student, you’re pretty busy. This is the time in life in which young people often investigate “who they are.” Christian students sometimes have to be careful not to become distracted from having their identity founded in God’s love and their place as His children. Many take the words of the Apostle Paul to Timothy seriously: “Don’t let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, [and] in your love, your faith, and your purity.” (1 Timothy 4:12) At Christian colleges, young people might have an easier time maintaining their focus on the Lord and trying to live their lives in His will. Some schools hold events that highlight our godly duties, such as evangelism, discipleship, service, etc. Liberty University based in Lynchburg, VA, held one such event in September. We'll I feel led this morning to inform people of the truth about the Apostle Paul, who was he and what difference does it make anyway. We'll ok what difference does it make who your grandfather was or your father, maybe they had a great influence on your life or they didn't. So those of you who don't know might be blessed by this. By the way I didn't know either, but long ago I took the time to find out. We are first introduced to Paul when he was Saul of Tarsus. He was standing over the first Christian martyr Stephen looking on as Stephen was stoned to death. From this gruesome introduction to the completion of his missionary journeys Paul has become a champion and hero in the Christian faith. Rev. Dr. David B. McWilliams, of Covenant Presbyterian Church, initiated a new Biblical series on February 16, 2014, during the Sunday Morning Worship Service. He examined and expounded on Ephesians 1:1-2. He named the first of these series “Epistle of the Ascension – The Sublime Epistle”. A LIVING SACRIFICE When we think of the word sacrifice, immediately what comes to mind is putting something to death as in the sacrifices performed according to the Old Testament Law. You would be right to think about that as the Apostle Paul wrote in Romans 12:1 about presenting our bodies as a living sacrifice holy and acceptable unto God. Notice that Paul said living sacrifice, so surely God wants us to do something acceptable and pleasing to Him with our living bodies, amen? So why use the word sacrifice? However bad & wicked we perceive the moral climate of today to be in America .. it was far worse in the epicenters of the Roman empire in Jesus & Apostle Paul's day. The wickedness & debauchery of those ancient times was still a far cry worse than today. I met this man online and I heard his testimony - though he has passed on, this is worth passing along - I honor this servant of God - Missionary Sam Sasser and his works. Colossians 1:1-10 More Than Meets the Eye The apostle Paul penned his letter to the church at Colosse in order to address and combat the false teachings that had begun to influence the believers in this city. The error against which Paul contended consisted of a mixture of Judaism and Gnosticism. The Judaizers stressed the importance of keeping the Law in order to maintain a relationship with God and to be in favor with Him. The Gnostics (from gnosis, meaning to know experientially) taught, among other things, that spiritual knowledge was only attainable by a select few who had the intellectual capacity to understand divine mysteries. Ordinary Christians, they taught, simply could not understand the deep spiritual truths of God. Obviously, both the Gnostics and the Judaizers propagated heresy that contradicted the clear teaching of God's Word, and the combination of these heresies only magnified their dangerous and diabolical nature. The Apostle Paul gives Timothy a final charge. In verse sixteen of 2 Timothy 3, Paul writes, 16" All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work." This scripture is for all believers. We must ask ourselves do we allow it to teach us, rebuke us, correct us and train us to be right. Often the correcting and rebuking part is the hardest.
