Apostle Paul

Paul the Apostle (AD 5 – AD 67; variously referred to as the Apostle Paul or Saint Paul ), also known as Saul of Tarsus, is perhaps the most influential early Christian missionary.

HPC Daily Devotional Rise and Shine KEY VERSES: Ephesians 5:10-14 10 Carefully determine what pleases the Lord. 11 Take no part in the worthless deeds of evil and darkness; instead, expose them. 12 It is shameful even to talk about the things that ungodly people do in secret. 13 But their evil intentions will be exposed when the light shines on them, 14 for the light makes everything visible. This is why it is said, “Awake, O sleeper, rise up from the dead, and Christ will give you light.” You know that feeling when you’re dead asleep and somebody suddenly flips on the light switch or opens the curtains? At first the light takes you back, and it takes a few seconds for your eyes to adjust. Your initial reaction is to keep your eyes closed to block off this sudden rush of light. But eventually it becomes comfortable and normal for your eyes to take in so much light. Here the Apostle Paul compares our moment of salvation to waking up from a deep (dead-like) slumber. In the same way that our eyes adjus ...
Rhapsody Of Realities Daily Devotional: Stand Up For The Gospel. Tuesday, 2nd December, 2014. Pastor Chris Oyakhilome. ...He died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again (2 Corinthians 5:15). There’s no better time to reflect on the vicarious sacrifice of Christ, than Christmas time. In the midst of all the celebrations and joyful preparations, take some time to think of the purpose of His birth, life, death, and resurrection. He’s given us such an extraordinary life of glory and righteousness, not just so we could enjoy it and keep it to ourselves, but so we could bring others into this life, even when it isn't convenient to do so. You have to stick out your neck for the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Apostle Paul was persecuted more than the other apostles, because of His convictions about the Gospel. When he went to Jerusalem to visit, the other apostles called him aside and told him how so many Jews had become believer ...

Ever asked yourself why Patrice Motsepe keeps gaining more wealth? Have you ever noticed that almost every wealthy person on the face of the earth are the most cheerful givers? Take Bill Gates for instance. The man makes over 3 million US dollars per day even he still loses millions of dollars on charity work through the Gates Foundation. Our very own Patrice Motsepe donated 500 Million rands in civil society last year apart from the other many initiatives he is supporting through the Motsepe Foundation. What's special about these men that they keep giving away their riches but still have much? What's the secret? Apostle Paul has something amazing to share with us. He says "And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others." (2 Corinthians 9:8 NLT) God generously gives us abundantly so that we can generously give to others. Many people write books on how to become successful but miss this one important element of attaining ...

This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. 1 Timothy 1:15 (KJV) The gospel is faithful and is worthy of accepting! When I couldn't live by the law...the law exposed my SIN...I was helpless, blind, and dead in my sins! But over 2,000 years ago...Christ came to save the world of its sins...HE NAILED THEM TO THE CROSS...HE NAILED MINE AND YOURS! He provided a way of LIVING that only prospers by the cross..All you have to do is accept his gospel...That Jesus came into the world, born of a virgin Mary, died on a cross for the sins of the world and on the 3rd day mourning rose from the grave. Believe it with your heart and confess it with your mouth and you too SHALL BE SAVED! And if you ever feel you done too much wrong and feel you can't be saved...the Apostle Paul said he was "chief of sinners"...HE was the worst of All..and Christ saved him and gave him a powerful ministry in the will of God! THE GOSPEL IS FAITHFUL AN ...

DID YOU KNOW? 1- That President Ronald Reagan declared 1983 as 'The Year of The Bible ' in the USA? But now in the same US, governments have passed laws to prohibit prayer and the reading of the Bible in Schools assembly ground. And their President has become the greatest advocate of homosexual and abortion rights. 2-That several of Apostle Paul's missionary activities were conducted around present day Turkey and Syria? But now Islam is the state religion in those places and their modern generation thinks only of Islam as the true religion. 3- North Africa was a centre of Christian scholarship and civilization, with great Bible schools and Christian monasteries? That several church fathers lived and functioned there? Now what is the state of North Africa? It has become the citadel and hub if fundamental Islam. Now, with the way we are practising our Christianity down here, how long do you think that Christianity will outlive this generation in our land ? While Islamists are becoming more fundamental in th ...

www.nsoredevotional.com - 7th November 2014 Friday's Message Title of the Message - DON'T SERVE IN LAZINESS Memory Verse - Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord. (Romans 12:11) Message *God sent Moses to go to Egypt to deliver the Israelites from bondage. The main purpose for this is for the Israelites to serve Him in their liberty. This was a shadow of the liberty for service which was to take place in the the new covenant. God has delivered us from the kingdom of darkness into that of His son Jesus in order for us to serve Him. However, in this serve to God some chooses to be slothful or lazy. This is one of the things that breaks the heart of Jesus. Thus, His purpose in today's devotion is to warn us of slothfulness in the kingdom business. *Concerning this subject, Jesus spoke a parable in Matthew 25:14-30- 14 “For the kingdom of heaven is like a man traveling to a far country, who called his own servants and delivered his goods to them. 15 And to one he gave five talents, .. ...

"for l reckon that the suffering and pain we endure in this life, is nothing in comparison to our future glory". ~ Apostle Paul
CAESAREA This story begins in Caesarea, a town in Israel located mid-way between Tel Aviv and Haifa on the Israeli coastal plain. The town was built by Herod the Great about 25–13 BCE as the port city Caesarea Maritima. It served as an administrative center of Judaea Province of the Roman Empire. find the Apostle Paul, a prisoner for the Lord, jailed now for almost two years and awaiting transfer by boat to Rome for a hearing before Caesar himself. He has been accused of blasphemy by the leaders of the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem, but because he is a Roman citizen, he has demanded the right as such to a hearing before Caesar in Rome. What brought him to this point (and his eventual martyrdom in Rome) is a series of events which he could not, and would not, try to escape. Time and again during his last missionary journey to Turkey, Greece and Lebanon, he had been warned numerous times by his friends and followers not to return to Jerusalem where arrest and torture would await him. Sometime during this fin ...
TOPIC: DON'T LET YOUR PAST DICTATE YOUR FUTURE! We can do all things through Christ who strengthen us! We must keep our eyes on Christ and continue to keep moving forward in the Lord! If we continue to look back at past mistakes and loose focus on a new day, another opportunity to change some things because the bible said that if any man be in Christ he is a new creature and the old things are past away and behold all things become new? God is doing a new thing for you and I. And we too must do a new thing. (We all know we must follow Christ and Apostle Paul tells us to let this mind be in us which was also in Christ Jesus!) So let us wise up my brother's and sisters and don't fall victim to what your pass look like because you just might miss out on your future! BUT FOCUS CHILDREN AND FORGET THOSE THINGS WHICH ARE BEHIND YOU AND FOCUS! KEEP OUR EYES ON THE THINGS BY FAITH WHICH GOD HAS INSTORE FOR US! How is it that relationships, marriages and even entire churches wind up being an absolute train-wreck? How is it that relationships and families in the church wind up having grudges and factions and divisions that remain unresolved for decades? Why are the lives of some--sometimes sadly, even in the church--plagued with drama and anger and bitterness? The apostle Paul answers those questions in Ephesians this Sunday and he wants both the Ephesians and us to know that the litmus test for the authenticity of our salvation is if we have love for other people--even for those whom we would have never chosen for friends. So come this Sunday at 10:00am to the Edge "church plant" for food, worship in song and the apostolic solution for broken relationships. Be sure to invite those looking for a church home or those new to Christianity.
Commentary on Psalm 91 The majority of this psalm is devoted to declaring God as a defender and protector of his people. Several beautiful images are deployed to paint this picture: In verse 2 we read God is a fortress and stronghold. In the psalms, God's safety and security is often described in this way, and can also be linked with singing and worship. For example, in psalm 59 we read: "But I will sing of your strength, in the morning I will sing of your love; for you are my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble." (Psalm 59:16, NIV) In verse 4, God is also likened to the protection that a mother bird offers her offspring. The idea of God being like wings of protection is a common image in the scriptures. For example, in psalm 63, such is the psalmists feelings of security he is able to "sing in the shadow of (his) wings" (psalm 63:7) We may also compare this analogy to Christ and his longing to care for Jerusalem, "as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings". However, in this instance this offer was ...
God UNREAL to the Ancients The first created man Adam, taking to himself from the forbidden tree the knowledge of good and evil, was at the same time rejecting God as Creator. It is certain that God had revealed somewhat of himself, a certain knowledge to Adam. Nevertheless Adam had cut himself off from God his Creator. Undoubtedly, some of the knowledge that God had imparted to Adam was successfully imparted from father to son for many generations. Jesus had called Abel, Adam’s second son, “righteous Abel.” He did the right thing in offering a lamb in sacrifice. Later, Enoch “walked with God.” God spoke to Noah and gave him instructions for the building of the ark. After the Flood certain historic accounts imply that Shem, one of Noah’s three sons, had some knowledge of the true God. But undoubtedly, as generation succeeded generation of humanity, knowledge of God had become greatly distorted. Nimrod, as recorded in chapter 4 of this book, made a virtual god of himself. Through the succeeding ...
Why Does God Seem Unreal? In this chapter I hope we will help make God as real to you as your own human father. God does reveal himself to us in the Bible, if we will just understand it, so that he will seem real to us. Of the peoples of the Roman Empire, God inspired the apostle Paul to write: “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and wickedness of men who by their wickedness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. Ever since the creation of the world his invisible nature, namely, his eternal power and deity [spiritual], has been clearly perceived in the things that have been made [physical]. So they are without excuse; for although they knew [about] God they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking and their senseless minds were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools” (Romans 1:18-22, Revised Standard Version). The billions now living on earth not ...
How did the apostle paul have roman citizenship?
Loved the message from Preacher Mike this morning: Good morning friends, Proverbs 16:9 says that a man may have desires in his heart but the Lord directs his steps. Do you remember when the Apostle Paul in Acts 16 had laid out his own plans and thought that he had figured out what “he” wanted to do, and where “he” wanted to go and who “he” wanted to be with, but God the Holy Spirit interrupted His plans and diverted him to the course that had been laid out “for” him? Can you imagine how his flesh fought against those God ordained plans, his disappointment in not being able to realize his dreams, even the confusion it caused those around him? But nonetheless, he obeyed. We must be reminded every day that God has a plan not to hurt us but to prosper us and to bring us to an expected, planned, ordained, Sovereign led conclusion (Jeremiah 29:11). Someone today may be reading this email and you have started down a path of selfish desires. We all have. And if you are really a child of God, the H ...

Friday, November 7 Do you, . . . the one teaching someone else, not teach yourself?—Rom. 2:21. A failed marriage may cast doubt on one’s spiritual state. The apostle Paul raised this serious question: “If indeed any man does not know how to preside over his own household, how will he take care of God’s congregation?” (1 Tim. 3:5) In fact, when both mates profess to be Christians and yet their marriage fails, observers may think that such individuals do not really practice what they preach. (Rom. 2:22-24) When baptized marriage mates are planning to separate or to divorce each other on unscriptural grounds, something surely is spiritually wrong in their life. Scriptural principles are apparently not being applied by one partner or perhaps by both partners. If they were truly ‘trusting in Jehovah with all their heart,’ there would be little reason for believing that they could not avoid a failed marriage.—Prov. 3:5, 6.
What is the apostle Paul is saying here? How many who read the Bible try to relegate the promises it contains into some time slot other than now?

The apostle Paul said, “Your faith will help me, and my faith will help you.” Romans 1:12
Saturday, 8th November THE FAITH ATTITUDE “We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak” (2 Corinthians 4:13) As a Christian, you must have a different attitude from the rest of the world. It’s the attitude of faith, and that’s the attitude of victory. That’s what the Apostle Paul referred to as the spirit of faith. We have the same spirit as the apostles, and those in the faith’s hall of fame, whose exploits are catalogued for us in the eleventh chapter of the book of Hebrews. It is by that same spirit of faith that I know I will never be defeated, broke, sick or poor in this life. Come what may, I will shine and walk in victory all the time. Develop this mindset and make a habit of declaring faith-filled words about your life, family, health, job, academics and your finances. Speak prosperity into everything you do in this life by the power of the Holy Ghost. Remember, this was the principle God ...
History records, eleven millionaires were on the Titanic when she sank. a) One of the few millionaire survivors was Major A.H. Peuchen. b) He left $300,000 of his money, jewelry and securities in a box in his cabin. c) He said, “The money seemed a mockery at that time. I picked up three oranges instead.” d) Money is a fickle friend. 5. Having the wrong priorities in our life is like buttoning our coat incorrectly. a) If we get that first button wrong, all the others line up according to that misplaced first one. b) In the same way, when we get the first button right, all the others will line up where they are designed to be. c) This is why the Apostle Paul suggests; fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
«Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ» *** 1, 1)
“The God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast” (1 Peter 5:10). There is an unfounded misconception among many Christians that when we come to Christ, our lives will be fine. All the worries and problems that plagued us before we accepted Christ will disappear once we commit our lives to Him. That is far from the truth. In fact, just as a blacksmith uses fire to shape iron, God uses difficulties in our lives to shape us. Usually when God’s revival begins, an opposition arises—a spiritual battle takes place, as the enemy seeks to mount a siege on our hearts. In order to see revival occur in the lives of men and women, we must be willing to stand steadfast in our faith and live uncompromising lives in the face of opposition. During revival, our hearts are cleansed of sin as we come to a point where conviction meets surrender. We become willing to give up things in our lives ...

Dear Daughter, – The Power of Patience and Persuasion Thank you for coming today for the cup of tea. The last two days, I was not able to meet you because I was trying to help you nurture patience. Someone said: ‘Patience is not the ability to wait, but the ability to keep a good attitude while waiting. ‘ I trust you have kept a good attitude waiting and not grumbling. Room 2 – NURTURE PATIENCE and PERSUASION as a Lifestyle; and your marriage will be successful. A). PATIENCE My daughter, patience is a virtue that every wife should nurture. It is also a fruit of the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). Any Spiritual fruit matures over time as we obey the Lord and surrender to His will. We all struggle with "waiting on the Lord," even if we know that "good things come to those who wait." But if we do not wait, (1 Samuel 13:8-14) tells us that a "lack of patience" can cause us to miss a blessing. (1 Samuel 13:8-14) {He waited seven days, the time set by Samuel; but Samuel did not come to Gilgal, and Sa . ...
THE HEAVENLY RESURRECTION The Bible also refers to another kind of resurrection, one to life as a spirit creature in heaven. Only one example of this type of resurrection is recorded in the Bible, that of Jesus Christ. After Jesus was put to death as a human, Jehovah did not allow His faithful Son to remain in the grave. (Psalm 16:10; Acts 13:34, 35) God resurrected Jesus, but not as a human. The apostle Peter explains that Christ was “put to death in the flesh, but . . . made alive in the spirit.” (1 Peter 3:18) This truly was a great miracle. Jesus was alive again as a mighty spirit person! (1 Corinthians 15:3-6) Jesus was the first ever to receive this glorious type of resurrection. (John 3:13) But he would not be the last. Knowing that he would soon return to heaven, Jesus told his faithful followers that he would “prepare a place” for them there. (John 14:2) Jesus referred to those going to heaven as his “little flock.” (Luke 12:32) How many are to be in this relatively small group of fai ...

ALL THOSE IN THE MEMORIAL TOMBS” The Bible’s resurrection accounts teach us much about the resurrection to come. People who were restored to life right here on earth were reunited with their loved ones. The future resurrection will be similar—but much better. As we learned , God’s purpose is that the whole earth be made into a paradise. So the dead will not be raised to life in a world filled with war, crime, and sickness. They will have an opportunity to live forever on this earth in peaceful and happy conditions. Who will be resurrected? Jesus said that “all those in the memorial tombs will hear his [Jesus’] voice and come out.” (John 5:28, 29) Similarly, Revelation 20:13 says: “The sea gave up those dead in it, and death and Hades gave up those dead in them.” “Hades” refers to the common grave of mankind. (This collective grave will be emptied. All those billions who rest there will live again. The apostle Paul said: “There is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and ...
Thursday, November 06, 2014 "Jesus Wanted It This Way" – Amid Landmark Days, The Pope on The Bishops Much as the coverage over time has shown a mix of genuine understanding and agenda-induced invention alike, it's no secret that a key storyline of the Rule of Francis is the relationship between the Pope and his bishops... at least, the ones he's inherited. Sure, there's nothing new under the sun – a sense of qualms among some of the Apostles about Peter and his means of wielding the Keys stretches back to the church's very foundations. Still, in recent times, it's very new: for all the talk of Vatican II of late, in reality you'd have to go back to the infallibility debates of Vatican I (1869-70) to find the last time the Catholic world saw such an exposed contrast of thought among its leaders on the papacy. In the current context, however, there is one key difference: the fights over what became Pastor æternus focused on the role of the Petrine office. This time around, the flashpoint is the man who ...

The Chain of Events Leading to Billy Graham’s Conversion As of 2008, Billy Graham’s estimated lifetime audience, including radio and television broadcasts, topped 2.2 billion. That means that approximately 2.2 billion people have heard the gospel from Billy Graham’s mouth. That’s hard to wrap your mind around. Billy Graham has shared the gospel with more people than anyone else in history, but do you know who shared the gospel with him? It actually is a series of events that has been traced over the years and starts out with one volunteer Sunday school teacher. “You can count the apples on the tree, but who can count the apples in a seed?” goes the old aphorism. So it is with the influence of a single person. Take Edward Kimball, for an example. Never heard of him? You’re not unique in that sense. Most people have never heard of him. Kimball was a Sunday school teacher who not only prayed for the often rowdy boys in his class but also sought to win each one to the Lord. If Kimball ever ...

Jesus lead by example in needing His Disciples, Mary, Martha, and Lazarus to Lean On. When He was told of Lazarus' death, Jesus Wept. In His darkest hour before His betrayal and crucifixion, He called on James, Peter, and John. In the same way, God made us needing to Lean On one another serving the missionfields of our lives with the Gifts He gave us, whether we are a Musicianary, Sunday school teacher, our position at our job, a Parent, a Fan bringing those who do not know Jesus to a concert. Even when chained in dungeons, Apostle Paul communicated and prayed with the other Apostles and the church bodies. Not a one of us can make it on our own, with more and more turmoil on the rise in the world, let's pray for Unity for Christian rock/metal as a ministry and the Body of Christ, for we need one another to Lean On as we go forth taking the Message of Jesus Christ to every tribe, nation, and tongue until He returns.
God knows you're struggling today just like he did when the Apostle Paul prayed and asked "Let this thorn be...

I’m a sinner. The amount of sin I’ve committed today alone would boggle the mind. I’m a wretched, disgraceful, odious (someone get me a thesaurus, please) human being. I don’t say this to brag. I’m simply stating the condition of my soul. Yesterday, I saw a left-hand turn from the right-hand lane, against the light, without a signal. I swore. Profusely. And don’t even get me started on gluttony. I ate an entire box of Wheat Thins this afternoon after I got home from work. And I find that I’m getting less tolerant as I get older. Wednesday evening, I turned off a “Christian” radio station that had been playing some good music because the air personality felt obligated to spew hatred towards *** out of my radio. I don’t need my kids learning to *** bash. “SO COME TO THE LORD TODAY KNOWING, IT IS NOT TOO LATE—IT’S HIS IDEA FOR YOU TO BE SAVED! REPENT OF YOUR SIN. SURRENDER YOUR ALL TO HIS OUTRAGEOUS LOVE. ASK TO RECEIVE A FULL OIL LAMP TO BE READY AND SEE TRUTH. YOUR SALVATION CAN BE SURE—EVEN TODAY!” Thank you Jesus Christ for your Grace and The Cross. What must I do to be Saved? Recognize that you need The Lord, Jesus Christ and The Holy Spirit. The greatest question in the Bible is How do you find Christ? The first step in finding Christ is to recognize that you need him, that you are a sinner, that you have violated the principles of truth in the word of God. The Bible say’s in Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God”. I have sinned and you have sinned, and because we have sinned we must have the blood of Jesus Christ cleanse us from all sin. Our morality cannot save us, our goodness cannot save us, and our acts of kindness cannot save us. Repent and Confess your sin and let the Holy Spirit give you a change ...
PRAYER POINTS There are three types of people who were anointed for their specific tasks in the Old Testament. They were kings, priests, and prophets. I believe each believer is to function in these roles, and that we will be blessed and victorious as we do. KINGLY ANOINTING – In the Old Testament, you find that both Saul and David were anointed to function as a kings (1 Samuel). A king was anointed to signify that he had the authority to rule over his kingdom. The Holy Spirit anoints you today with power and authority to rule and reign in this life. We are not to passively submit to defeat and trouble, but to submit to God (trust in His power and pray with violence) and see the enemy flee! (James 4:7; Mt 11:12) The anointing causes us to be victors not victims, winners not whiners, and triumphant over all things. Pray and allow the anointing to be released in you and walk in power and authority. PRIESTLY ANOINTING – The priests in the Old Testament were anointed to minister to the Lord in their vario ...
The Benefits Of Praying In Other Tongues – Pastor Chris "He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself..." (1 Corinthians 14:4). Praying in tongues is an effective means of spiritual communication with God. It's a heavenly language that transcends the natural mind or intellect (1 Corinthians 14:14). When you pray in tongues, you're stirred; the anointing wells up like currents within your spirit. That anointing, impacts your physical body and rejuvenates you. It works on your mind, such that you're able to pick up some of the finest signals from the realm of the spirit, and you're transported to the higher realms of glory. The Living Bible tells us that the one who speaks in tongues "helps himself grow spiritually." Which means, for you to experience serious spiritual growth, you must pray in tongues consistently. The Bible says when you pray in other tongues, you're building up yourself like an edifice: "But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost ...
I marvel at the miracle of the human mind and body. Have you ever contemplated the wonders of yourself, the eyes with which you see, the ears with which you hear, the voice with which you speak? No camera ever built can compare with the human eye. No method of communication ever devised can compare with the voice and the ear. No pump ever built will run as long or as efficiently as the human heart. No computer or other creation of science can equal the human brain. What a remarkable thing you are. You can think by day and dream by night. You can speak and hear and smell. Look at your finger. The most skillful attempt to reproduce it mechanically has resulted in only a crude approximation. The next time you use your finger, watch it, look at it, and sense the wonder of it. You are a child of God, His crowning creation. After He had formed the earth, separated the darkness from the light, divided the waters, created the plant and animal kingdoms—after all this He created man and then woman. I repeat, I ** ...
Text: 2 Corinthians 4:14-18 14 because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you to himself. 15 All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God. 16 Therefore we do not lose heart. FULLY COMMITTED I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus. ---Acts 21:13 Many people have died in the cause of freedom. Wars and demonstrations have taken place to promote freedom and peace and many end up dying seeking to obtain it. To be a free people, a free nation as the United States is, is wonderful, but so many have forgotten the cost of the freedom they enjoy. Even when people have the freedom to rail against this country, they forget that it is because of the sacrifice of many that they can be free to do that. In other countries they would be arrested, jailed and maybe even executed. All this is for a physical freedom. The above verse speaks to another type freedom that the Apostle Paul was willing to be arrested and even die for. That cause was to share the good news about Jesus with others so they can be free from the penalty and punishment of sin even if it means they would be arrested and killed him for it. This is the case in many co ...

You are offered an opportunity to give your life to Him every Sunday morning you attend H2O, if you haven't accepted that offer, what's holding you back? A DIFFERENT JESUS We recently received a call from a Mormon man who wanted to know what we mean when we say that Mormons worship a different Jesus. We get asked this question a lot as they just assume that the Christian Jesus is the same as the Mormon one. Let’s start with 2 Cor. 11:4 where the Apostle Paul warned us that there would be those who would come preaching “another Jesus”, “another spirit”, and “another gospel”. In verse 13 of this chapter, Paul continues with this thought – “For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ.“ Obviously, this warning needs to be taken seriously so let’s look at some of the differences. A very basic Mormon teaching is that their Jesus was born in the “pre-existence” (before coming to this earth) to a heavenly Mother and is literally the brother of Lucifer: “The appointment of Jesus to be Savior of the world was contested by one of the other sons of God. He was called Lucifer…this spirit ...
October 16 NOT FREEDOM TO SIN BUT FREEDOM FROM SIN For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. Galatians 5:13 The liberty we have in Christ is freedom from sin and not freedom to sin. Christ is not the minister of sin, the devil is. Satan is the author of sin; and when we were delivered from the power of darkness, we were made free from sin. Romans 6:22 says “But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life” We’ve been made free; we’re free from sin. Sin has lost its grip on us. The scripture says “For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace” (Rom 6:14) Paul has been promoting freedom from the laws and regulations of the Old Testament. And truly, we’re free from the slavery of the law. In Galatians 5:1, the Apostle Paul said “Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath mad ...
Handbook of the Israelite - Part one “Now all these things happened to them for examples: and they are written for our warning, upon whom the ends of the world have come.” (1 Corinthians 10:11) As we read the text above, we must ask ourselves, “Why did the Apostle Paul feel compelled to give a warning to a group of people living 1900 years after his time?” Wouldn't you think that Paul had enough on his mind nurturing new believers as he traveled throughout the Roman Empire? But it seems that this tireless Apostle had a great concern for the church in the days ahead! And since he went so far out of his way to express such a warning, shouldn't we engage our curiosity and seek to understand what exactly he was trying to convey to the “end times” people. By looking closely at Paul’s letter (1 Corinthians 10:1-11) we find that he was observing the events of Israel’s 40 year Exodus in hopes that his words would prevent a terrible crisis among the people living at the close of time. But how much ...
WAS Billy Graham A FALSE PROPHET? The way to tell a false prophet is these 3 ways. 1. Do they give their riches to the poor and follow Jesus? Do they follow Jesus in the same way the disciples did? Did God himself "anoint" these preachers to teach or did they go to a human church to get a "worldly degree"? You see, real children of God are like Moses, the Apostle Paul, Noah and Ruth. They know God personally and only do as God asks. Why would God ask Billy Graham to take a celebrity stance in Ministry? God and Jesus would tell him to walk away from it. FALSE PROPHET!

SEPTEMBER 26 Now concerning Spiritual Gifts, Brethren, I would not have you ignorant (I Cor. 12:1). There are nine Gifts of the Spirit listed here by the Apostle Paul. For one or more of these Gifts to be resident in the heart and life of the Believer, one must be baptized with the Holy Spirit, with the evidence of speaking with other Tongues (Acts 2:4). All Believers who are Spirit-filled should “covet earnestly the best Gifts” (I Cor. 12:31). This speaks of that which the Holy Spirit wants a particular Believer to have. Every Spirit-filled Believer probably has one or more Gifts of the Spirit, but needs instructions to know how those Gifts are developed. In brief, the following, hopefully, will present some understanding of the Gifts. 1. “The Word of Wisdom”: This pertains to people, places, and things, as they relate to the future. The Holy Spirit will not give total information concerning the subject, but rather only a “word.” 2. “The Word of Knowledge”: This concerns people, places, a ...

Have You Received a Second Cleansing Since You Believed? Perhaps your answer is, "we have not so much as heard whether there be any second cleansing" which is similar to the answer "certain disciples" gave to the Apostle Paul in Acts 19:1-2. The purpose of this article is to enlighten or remind each honest heart of not only the benefit of this second experience but to emphasize the ultra-importance of this second definite work of grace. In the process we hope to dispel some of the misconceptions and give scriptural answers to some objections and perversion of this vital Bible doctrine. Notwithstanding the scarcity of this teaching, it is not new. John Wesley and Adam Clarke (Clarke’s Commentary) are two respected names of yesteryear that taught this doctrine. Wesley had many followers who testified of obtaining this glorious experience. D. S. Warner, a church of God minister in the late 1800’s initially opposed this teaching, (said God did not work in piece meal) but after obtaining the experie ...

READ YOUR RHAPSODY OF REALITIES DAILY DEVOTIONAL: COMMENDED TO THE WORD. FRIDAY,SEPT 5TH,2014. And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified (Acts 20:32). The Apostle Paul couldn’t think of a better way to bless the brethren at Ephesus than to commend them to the Word of God. As Christians, we’re born of the Word (1 Peter 2:23); the Word gave birth to us; therefore, our lives can only be built and sustained by the Word. From the moment you made Jesus the Lord of your life, the building process began; the Word builds you spiritually, mentally, physically, financially, and in all areas of life. Furthermore, the Word is able to “give” you an inheritance among all those that are sanctified. This is quite an interesting thought. The Spirit of God, through the Apostle Paul, wrote this to the Church. Why would He say this to Christians who already have an inheritance in Christ Jesus? ...

One SECRET TRUTH I located in NIV is this: The Bible reads in Colossians 1:14 (KJV), In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins. The NIV reads, "In whom We have redemption, the forgiveness of sins". The NIV leaves out the phrase "THROUGH HIS BLOOD". Some people justify the NIV as simply a Bible that "update the Old English words of the King James Bible, " but is not True, as is seen here. What is not understandable about the wore BLOOD? The only cure, there is for sin is through the pure, holy, sinless BLOOD of the Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible says "without shedding of blood is no remission".(Hebrews 9:22). Users of the NIV says, that is only one drop of the word BLOOD, so just leave the translators alone. Hmm will bring my Secret Truth of NIV Which causes HIV to the church of Jesus Christ. Thank you. Apostle Paul said in 2 Tim 2:15 " rightly dividing the word of truth". Thank you All To be continue. Let All stand for Truth about God Word.
WORK FOR A GIVING NOT A LIVING. If you defined by the salary you earn, where then is the evidence of the supernatural in your LIFE Son of God? There are too many people who see their Job as the source of their prosperity. This is opposed to God's idea. In Ephesians 4:28, the Apostle Paul showed us the reason for working: it is so we can have to give. It's as simple as that. So declare to yourself, " I WILL NOT LIVE FROM PAYCHECK TO PAYCHECK." The change begins with that simple statement. The Apostle Paul said, " I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, it is more blessed to give than to receive" (Acts 20:35). Again he shows us the mentality we must have as God's children. THAT JOB YOU'RE DOING IS AN OPPORTUNITY FOR YOU TO HAVE MONEY TO GIVE. Someone might be asking Sister Carolyn, my salary is not even enough for me; how will I survive if I give out of it?" Well that's the reason you should sow for a harve . ...

1500 Year Old Bible Claims Jesus Was Never Crucified A Bible which is reported to be at least 1500 years old was discovered in Turkey and inside it there is a Gospel of Barnabas. The book was moved by Turkish government to one of their museums by way of police escort. Barnabas was one of the disciples of Jesus Christ, and in the Gospel of Barnabas, it states that Christ was never crucified. It reads instead that he rose to heaven while alive and Judas was the one crucified instead. Additionally, this ancient Bible declares that Jesus was not the Son of God, but only a prophet who spoke the word of God. The book also calls the Apostle Paul “The Impostor”. In a press release that was sent out by the Turkish government, it said that the Bible was snatched from a mob of smugglers in a Mediterranean region operation. The report explained that the group was accused of trafficking antique relics, performing illegal archaeological digs, and being in the possession of explosives. The book itself is believed to ...
FAITH IN ACTION Hearing My country Ghana is considered in the comity of nations as the gateway to West Africa. Meaning, we have been rated amongst the nations found in the sub-region as high. It also means that investors would prefer setting their business operations here before expanding to our neighbouring countries. Friends, your ears, like my country, are key gateway to your frame of faith. Indeed, prolific writer, the Apostle Paul, wrote in the Bible that faith comes by hearing. Mark the same way, fear comes by hearing too. What you hear determines how you act. When Peter saw Jesus walking on water, he wanted to do same too. But he didn't want to mistake Him for a magician. He clarified who he wanted to hear from. He said, 'if it is You, ask me to come'. In other words, if it is not Him, he would not have risked his life at all. What have you been hearing concerning your dream or your future? Are you listening to men who speak hopelessly or you are inclining your ear to God who speaks hopefully? The ...

SEVEN GREAT TRAGEDIES THAT CAN BEFALL A MAN: In an age bedeviled with depression, regrets and the likes it is possible to live a fulfilled life. Gods thoughts towards us are always thoughts of peace and not of evil. However most times men fall into some challenges because of their choices. Below are seven great tragedies that can befall a man on the journey of life. 1. REFUSAL TO BE BORN AGAIN : If you are not saved you are not safe. Any man outside God's kingdom is heading for a disaster in this world and in the world to come. 2. LACK OF VISION/PURPOSE: When purpose is not known, Myles Munroe says,'' Abuse is inevitable''. Scripture says ''Where there is no vision the people perish''. 3. WRONG MARRIAGE: It is better to remain unmarried like Apostle Paul than to marry the wrong Person. Wrong marriages has succeeded in capsizing the ship of so many. 4: SEXUAL IMMORALITY: This has more grave consequences beyond your imagination. It is not cheap. By means of a whorish woman, a man is reduced to a loaf of bre ...

Sunday worship of man and hate was began in 321 AD by a Roman ruler named Constantine. Notice the church, government and systems of this religion are all based on saying peace peace but their is no peace only hate and more hate for their demon practises of idol and worship of god's which are all man made up religions. Their is a way that seems right to man but the end thereof is destruction. Jesus Came to Save Sinners John 3:17, “For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” The Bible teaches that Jesus DIDN'T come into the world to condemn anyone; but rather, to save sinners. What a precious truth! It is the Law of God that condemns all mankind. Many people mistakenly believe that the Ten Commandments are a plan of salvation, but they are not. God's Law condemns all of us as miserable failures and guilty sinners (Romans 3:10-23). I certainly don't condemn anyone, for the Bible condemns all of us as guilty, dirty, rotten, *** deserving sinners. My salvation solely rests in Christ's righteousness, because of the precious blood that He gave for our sins. When the rich young man came to Jesus in Mark10:17-22, he was self-righteous. The young man thought that keeping God's Law could save him. He bragged to Jesus that he had kept all the commandments. Jesus pointed out to him that he was covetous, and had not kept the Law perfect ...

SEEK DAILY Sunday, July 20 1 Corinthians 10:9-13 GOD’S FAITHFULNESS IN OUR TEST …God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear…1 Corinthians 10:13, NIV Life’s journey is full of valley and mountain experiences. These, sometimes, paint God as unjust or unfaithful. However, it does not dispute the fact that God is a loving and caring Father. God allows certain things to happen in our journey in life to see how faithful we are to Him; to check our stability and dependency on Him. The Israelites failed to acknowledge the faithfulness of God in their distress and His acts of deliverance, provisions, miracles, even in the wilderness. They thus frustrated His grace and election over them and were destroyed by fiery serpents (Exodus 17:1-7; Numbers 20:1-13, 21:4-8). Apostle Paul wants you to consider the mistakes of this people and learn from them. Do not provoke God because of what you are passing through. Do not look at your problem but focus on God who has the authority to so ...

7/20 at Patterson Avenue Baptist Church we'll be exploring Romans 8:12-17 and looking at one of the Apostle Paul's favorite concepts for describing our inclusion into the life of God via grace...that concept is ADOPTION. We are chosen by grace to be included in God's life. That's good news. Join us at 11am to celebrate in worship. Come at 9:45am for Bible Study.
Romans 14 Explained By Chris Barr Rav Shaul (Apostle Paul) was a MASTER of Torah. He often quotes or alludes to Old Testament Scriptures without ever mentioning the Scripture that he is quoting or to which he is alluding. Romans 14 is one of those very common instances. Yes, it is about "personal convictions" and "personal scruples" but it is in the context of Old Testament Scripture. It is more specifically about "traditions of men" that as The Saviour noted "Makes The Word of none effect". Oh, and it has nothing whatsoever to do with vegetarianism. What then was Paul talking about? He was talking about fast days. The whole 14th chapter of Romans is about food and how people's beliefs about fasting should not be interfered with. The fast days could be observed according to each believer's conscience. A man could eat or not eat, keep the day or not keep it. Each man could observe FAST DAYS, or not observe them, according to his own convictions. He that does not eat, regards the day. He that eats, does ...
Have you received the Holy Ghost since you believed? If NOT.WHY NOT! What are you waiting for ...since the promise is unto you and to your children and to those that are afar off and that includes us Gentiles.even as many as the Lord our God shall call... I hear him calling...YOU! Paul said, I speak with tongues more than ye all...If the Holy Ghost evidenced by Speaking with other tongues wasn't for everyone than this could only be an arrogant and prideful man speaking but NO this was the compassionate Apostle Paul who could wish himself accursed so that all Israel could be saved. This man named Paul was a man on a mission to reach every man, woman and child with the saving Gospel of the Lord Jesus. Who when unmercifully whipped for breaking no law but simply casting out a devil, and with no pain meds in his body and with blood splattered all over his body having not had his wounds yet cleansed and dressed would speak to the jailer who was much like the police officers which you just witnessed in the ...
The best decision u can make in life is u telling urself u want to live d life of God. Apostle Paul said daily I die and the life I live not my own. That's a starting point if u r asking ow to go abt ur life.

Lightening the Load When we get into the storms of life, it is often difficult to know what to do. It can feel like the noise of our troubles drowns out everything else. In Acts 27 we find the apostle Paul caught in the midst of a horrible storm. The ship was being tossed all over the place, and the situation was becoming quite serious. Embedded in this story is a spiritual truth that can guide you and me when we get caught in the storms of life. It is found in verses 18-19, And because we were exceedingly tempest-tossed, the next day they lightened the ship. On the third day we threw the ship's tackle overboard with our own hands. Notice that when the storm got bad and threatened to capsize the ship, they lightened the load. Sometimes in a storm you need to throw some things overboard. In fact, it is a great time to evaluate any baggage that you are carrying in your life. There are some things that may not be a sin to you, but they are a weight to you.
Always Try And Benchmark Yourself, Against The Best...In The World With the World Cup, still fresh in our minds, I am reminded of one of my earliest memories, in following this tournament: - the tournament of 1974! I was still a little boy, but I followed the progress of the African teams, as they tried to qualify for the few places, available in those days. My family lived in exile, in Zambia, at the time, and together with my friends, we followed Zambia's progress, until it was knocked out, by the mighty "Zaire" (now Democratic Republic of Congo): We were all in absolute awe of the Zairian team, as they conquered one team after another, in Africa, on their way to the finals... Surely, this team could go all the way! I heard people arguing passionately that Zaire, would probably beat Brazil... After all Pele had just retired. None of us, had ever seen Brazil play, or Pele, or any other team for that matter... There was no live television. I read in the newspaper that Zaire used "black magic", and a lion ...
I love the apostle paul's writings no matter what stood firm in his faith.
At some point in our lives, every one of us has missed out on God-given opportunities. Maybe you can think of a few right now. If so, I want to encourage you: Don’t live in regret. Don’t let lost opportunities make you feel disappointed and discouraged. God is bigger than your lost opportunities. No matter what has happened in your past, He can still get your life back on track! It’s sort of like using one of those GPS systems in your car. You set the location to where you want to go, and the GPS calculates the best route. You can be driving along and get distracted and completely miss the street where the GPS instructed you to turn, but that doesn’t mean you’ll never reach your destination. You wouldn’t just pull off to the side of the road crying and say, “Now I’m stuck here. I’ll never get where I need to go all because I missed my turn!” No, there’s always another way to get there. In fact, that GPS system will instantly recalculate the route to your destination based on your pre ...

Evening Devotion Kodi pakati pa Apostle Paul ndi ma health-wealth-prosperity angawa, wokamba zoona zondipulutsa ndi ndani..?: 1 Timothy 6:5-11. 5) Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself. 6) But godliness with contentment is great gain. 7) For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. 8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. 9) But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. 10) For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. 11) But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

One truth many folks dont get to understand is that even the most committed believer has those days and times when fear and worry can kick in. Anxiety can becloud and overwhelm us. It may be we are so anxiously concerned about our future. Maybe we are discouraged or afraid. If that is the case, you might be surprised to know that even the great apostle Paul experienced emotions like this. Paul had gone to Jerusalem, and the next thing he knew, he was locked up in a cold, damp & dark prison. All of this happened as a result of his bold proclamation of the gospel. Acts 23:11 tells us, "The following night the Lord stood by him and said, 'Be of good cheer, Paul.' That phrase be of good cheer could be better explained "be of good courage." Whenever we read in Scripture that an angel of the Lord appeared and said, "Fear not," it was usually because someone was afraid. So I conclude that when the Lord himself stood by Paul and said, "Be of good courage," the apostle needed that special word of encouragement at t ...
LOVE, PAIN AND THE MYSTERY OF SEPARATION Love is beautiful but it can also ravage and destroy. It brings pleasure and it brings pain. It brings joy and it brings sorrow. It brings light and it brings darkness. It brings laughter and it brings tears. It brings peace and it brings turmoil. It brings tranquility and it brings turbulence. It brings serenity and it brings rage. It brings passivity and it brings aggression. It brings selflessness, kindness and generosity and it brings cruelty, sadism and masochism. It brings restraint and balance and it brings wild passion and extreme emotions. It brings the promise of a new dawn and it brings the testimony of a tragic sunset. It is indeed the greatest paradox that has existed since the beginning of time. God IS love yet He created satan, the harbinger and apostle of hate, death and destruction. The songwriter wrote ''love hurts, love scars, love wounds''. Another wrote ''sometimes it lasts in love but sometimes it hurts instead''. How true this is. How poigna ...

May we continually be thankful for all that You do in our lives. Lord today we pray for our brothers and sisters journey through this life. We know that there will be victories, trials, and triumphs. We pray that each individual would receive encouragement to go further in their walk every day. That we may, as the Apostle Paul said, press toward the mark. The high calling in our life. I pray that we be significant factors in the lives of our families, our children, our friends, those we meet, those that know us from far off. Rhapsody Of Realities Pastor Chris Oyakhilome Theme: Maintaining The Glow: A Continual Experience! Date: Wednesday June 25th, 2014 Don’t burn out; keep yourselves fueled and aflame…(Romans 12:11 MSG). Many Christians often seek to know what more they could do to be continually filled with the anointing. It brings to mind an interesting question from a dear viewer during one of our Live TV programmes. He asked, “Pastor Chris, when I’m in fellowship meetings, I feel the anointing so strong, but the moment I leave, it’s like it reduces. What do I do to maintain this glorious presence that enraptured me during those meetings?” Ephesians 5:18 gives us a clear answer; it says, “And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit.” The literal meaning of this verse is “be being filled with the Spirit,” which means it’ll be an unending experience. You’ve got a responsibility in this; and in verses nineteen to twenty-one, the Spirit, through the Apostle Paul, explai ...
Pastor Mike's Daily Devotion Friday June 20, 2014 (all church prayer tonight at 7 PM) Acts 13:10, and said, “O full of all deceit and all fraud, you son of the devil, you enemy of all righteousness, will you not cease perverting the straight ways of the Lord? Yesterday we saw the Apostle Paul's example of a calling, and today we will see his example of those who will go. As Paul and Barnabas went out on the mission field there were a variety of experiences that they encountered. There were those who did want to hear what they had to offer. We see this in a man named Sergious Paulus, who wanted to hear the word of God and became born again when he believed. However as there are those who are receptive of the preaching of the word, there are also those who withstand the preaching of the word of God. We saw this in a certain Jew named Bar-Jesus. He is described as a false prophet or someone who perverts the word of God. His name (maybe a title) means son of Jesus and it is possible that he was presenting h ...
June 18th ABRAHAM'S CHILDREN John 8:37 "I know that ye are Abraham's seed; but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you." JOHN 8:33-38 The Jewish people were direct descendants of Abraham. However, as with so many biblical truths, there was much more to the Abrahamic covenant than what a casual glimpse would reveal. In truth, these Jews were not actually a part of the spiritual children of Abraham. The Holy Spirit revealed through the Apostle Paul in Galatians 3:16 and 29 that God's covenant was to Abraham and his singular "seed" or descendant, which was Christ. No one ever became an heir of God's promises through his natural birth. Before Jesus gave Himself as an offering for our sin, the Old Testament saints were justified by faith in God's promises concerning the Messiah who was yet to come. After Jesus' death and resurrection, New Testament saints are justified by faith in what Jesus has already accomplished. No one has ever been saved because of who his parents are. Those who have bee ...

Tomorrow, June 11 at 6:45pm, we will celebrate the feast day for our patron Saint, the Apostle, St. Barnabas, with a Vesperal Divine Liturgy. The holy, glorious and all-laudable Apostle Barnabas was one of the Seventy Apostles and the companion of the Apostle Paul on some of his missionary voyages. He is referenced in Acts and in two of St. Paul’s epistles, Galatians and I Corinthians. Barnabas was born to a wealthy family in the tribe of Levi. Later becoming one of the Seventy Apostles, he studied with Saul (later St. Paul) under Gamaliel. From birth his given name was Joseph, but the Apostles called him Barnabas (“son of consolation”) because he was gifted at comforting people’s souls. It was St. Barnabas who introduced Paul to the other apostles after his conversion. St. Barnabas was likely the first to preach in Rome and Milan. He was martyred by the Jews on the island of Cyprus and was buried by St. Mark. Many receive healing at his grave, which place was unknown for hundreds of years until t ...

Thirteen Reasons Why I Believe In A Pre Tribulation Rapture: 1 – The Blessed Hope The first reason we believe the Rapture takes place before the Tribulation is because it’s called the Blessed Hope in Titus 2:13. … looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, In 1 Thess. 4:18 the Apostle Paul writes this regarding the imminence of the Rapture … Therefore comfort one another with these words. If the Rapture doesn’t occur until the middle or end of the Tribulation, where’s the comfort in that? Pretend you’d never heard of the Rapture and I was telling you all about the Last Days. I tell you about the horrors of the Tribulation, all the death and destruction that will take place as foretold in the Book of Revelation; the plagues, pestilence, famine, drought, economic and social upheaval on a scale never seen in history. A third of the earth’s population will be wiped out, then later another fourth! I briefly chronicle the rise of the antichrist ...

SEARCH THE WORD OF GOD John 5:31-40 Rev. Dr. Samuel P. Fernandez To search is to look through in trying to find something, to seek, to study and to probe. Followers of the faith are admonished to search the Word of God. The Word of God is a lamp and a light to illumine our hearts and minds. As Frank W. Moyle would have it: “The question of authority of the Bible need not trouble the humblest reader. It is not ‘a code which fell from the sky, guaranteed by an ecclesiastical imprimatur,’ but a collection of writing which breathes upon us the only authority that is worth regarding – the authority of the power of the Spirit.” (Watchman – Examiner) Cardinal John Henry Newman wrote: “I read my Bible to know what people ought to do, and my newspaper to know what they are doing.” Apostle Paul wrote his spiritual son, Timothy, thus: “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.” (II Tim 3:16) L ...
How do we use the Word of God to attack Satan? a. Let's imagine that you are being tempted to say something unkind to someone. (1) Before you commit the sin, defeat Satan by quoting (Eph. 4:29) to yourself or out loud “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs.” (a) When you quote a Scripture, it disarms the desire and the temptation. b. We need to memorize Scripture so we can defeat Satan. The Bible says in (Ps. 119:11), that we need to hide the Word of God in our hearts, so that we will not sin against Him. Whatever sin you are tempted to commit, memorize a specific verse and use it's power to defeat Satan. 4. I believer that not only are we to quote Scripture to defeat Satan, but we are to use the power of Jesus' name. There is power in the name of Jesus. a. Believers are baptized into His name (Acts 2:38). b. Believers are forgiven in His name (1 Jn. 2:12). c. Believers pray through His name (Col. 3:17). d. ...

The Apostle Paul said the churches in Macedonia were being tested by many troubles and were very poor, BUT they were FILLED with ABUNDANT JOY. The overflow of that joy was RICH GENEROSITY! (2 Corinthians 8) So, generosity is NOT the fruit of an abundant bank account, but an abundance of JOY! You may be blessed with wealth, yet lack in JOY, and ultimately lack in being a blessing to others!
"Servants, respectfully obey your earthly masters but always with an eye to obeying the real master, Christ. Don’t just do what you have to do to get by, but work heartily, as Christ’s servants doing what God wants you to do. And work with a smile on your face, always keeping in mind that no matter who happens to be giving the orders, you’re really serving God. Good work will get you good pay from the Master, regardless of whether you are slave or free." Apostle Paul
you ought to congratulate yourself like the apostle Paul said!
Let the recording angels write the history of the holy struggles and conflicts of the people of God; let them record their prayers and tears; but let not God be dishonored by the declaration from human lips, “I am sinless; I am holy.” Sanctified lips will never give utterance to such presumptuous words. {AA 561.3} The apostle Paul had been caught up to the third heaven and had seen and heard things that could not be uttered, and yet his unassuming statement is: “Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after.” Philippians 3:12. Let the angels of heaven write of Paul’s victories in fighting the good fight of faith. Let heaven rejoice in his steadfast tread heavenward, and that, keeping the prize in view, he counts every other consideration dross. Angels rejoice to tell his triumphs, but Paul makes no boast of his attainments. The attitude of Paul is the attitude that every follower of Christ should take as he urges his way onward in the strife for the immort ...

The Apostle Paul had it spot on, if we are citizens of heaven, then that is where our focus should be. "Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory." (Colossians 3:1-4 NASB)
I think we should. How Paul the Apostle Was A G, lesson one.
"Ye Are Sanctified" I Corinthians 6:11 The hodgepodge theology of those who teach progressive sanctification (progressive, increasing holiness and decreasing sin in the believer's nature) is so inconsistent with the gospel of God's free grace salvation in Christ and with my personal experience that I long ago gave up trying to understand them. IF, AS ALL AFFIRM, SANCTIFICATION IS ESSENTIAL TO SALVATION, THEN WORKS HAVE NO PART IN IT. IT IS ALL OF GRACE! If one means, by the term progressive sanctification, that believers grow in grace we have no quarrel at all. But if their meaning is that believers gradually attain higher degrees of holiness by something they do, or are enabled of God to do, we do have a quarrel. Nowhere in the Word of God are men admonished to sanctify themselves, except in a ceremonial sense, under the symbolism of legal worship. SANCTIFICATION IS GOD'S WORK OF GRACE IN MAKING COMMON, SINFUL MEN AND WOMEN HOLY. When holiness can be looked upon as a progressive thing, then may sanctific ...

We can not deal with the sin of homosexuality any different than they dealt with it in the scripture. The Apostle Paul first let it be known that those who were homosexual would not have any part in the Kingdom of God and he made no exceptions to it. In fact when he wrote the Corinthian church he made it clear that we were not to fellowship or even eat with a person who is called a brother and is immoral. This of course has to do with individuals who rejected God’s word and embraced these sins as a lifestyle. Its interesting that Paul never treated this as a mental illness but as a sin which means it has to be over come the same way we over come all sin through death, resurrection and by the renewing of the mind. It’s amazing to me that we believe the scripture has the answers to every problem except this. Paul said consider the members of your earthly body as being dead to immorality, passions, evil desires and greed which amounts to Idolatry for it is on account of these things that the wrath of G . ...
