Nice shot of Kenny Dalglish there. The man who spent £35M on Andy Carroll.
Surprised they still allow Kenny Dalglish into Anfield after he blew £35 million on Andy Carroll.
Imagine Kenny Dalglish only splashed on Andy Carroll and didn't buy Suarez 😰😰
Reds on England plane to Brazil will increase UNDER Gerard Houllier and then Rafael Benitez, English players showcasing their talent at Liverpool became rarer as the years went on. Steven Gerrard, Jamie Carragher, Michael Owen, Robbie Fowler and Danny Murphy as well as others have lined up in a Liverpool and England shirt in the new millennium. However, especially under Benitez, there were an increasing number of players brought in from overseas because of the talent to price ratio – players at the same level could be bought for less in countries such as Spain. That continued until recently, where first Kenny Dalglish and then Brendan Rodgers started to promote more home-grown players into the team. Dalglish has been found guilty of overspending on the likes of Andy Carroll, Jordan Henderson and Stewart Downing, but he wanted to give Liverpool that national dominance, trying to buy the hottest young English talent as they had in the past. However, the method didn’t really work. Rodgers hasn’t signed ...

West Ham United are considering a move for Liverpool's England winger Stewart Downing following the £15m deal to bring striker Andy Carroll to Upton Park from Anfield. Downing has failed to make a major impact after he was signed from Aston Villa by Former Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish in a £20m deal in July 2011. The 28-year-old is one of the options being considered by West Ham manager Sam Allardyce as he ponders how best to utilise Carroll and he may reunite the pair who played together at Anfield. Carroll was another Dalglish signing, with Liverpool having to take a £20m hit on the £35m they paid Newcastle United in January 2011. And it is likely Liverpool will have to suffer another substantial loss on the Downing deal if West Ham were to firm up their early interest with a bid. Downing revealed last December that he had been told by Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers that he could leave the club, although he then won his place back in the team. Liverpool's interest in Sporting Lisbon's £8.5m- ...
Carroll to undergo West Ham medical Last updated 2 hours ago Liverpool Striker Andy Carroll is to undergo a medical at West Ham on Wednesday ahead of a £15m move. The 24-year-old cost Liverpool £35m and has been on loan with West Ham since 2012, scoring seven times in 24 games. The transfer fee was agreed in May, but the England international was unsure about a move ahead of a World Cup year. Carroll's medical, confirmed by West Ham chairman David Gold, will be thorough given the fee involved and his record of injury problems. The former Newcastle player fell awkwardly in the Hammers' final game of the season, picking up a heel injury that forced him out of England's two post-season friendlies against Republic of Ireland and Brazil. That problem followed previous issues with his hamstring and knee that disrupted much of the first half of his campaign with the Upton Park outfit. Carroll was signed by Kenny Dalglish for Liverpool on transfer deadline day in January 2011, for what remains a record fee for ...
Recruitment of new Reds will pay dividends: It was one of Brendan Rodgers' first acts upon his installation as Liverpool manager 12 months ago. And judging by the manner in which this summer's transfer window has begun at Anfield, it could be one of his most important. Rodgers' arrival on Merseyside coincided with, indeed was part of, some pretty significant structural adjustments at Anfield. Damien Comolli, the man charged with signing off on the £35m transfer of Andy Carroll, had been ruthlessly relieved of his duties as director of football in April, and Kenny Dalglish had followed little more than a month later. Dave Fallows, a highly-rated scouting co-ordinator at Manchester City, had been identified by Fenway Sports Group as the ideal man to front the Reds' new-look recruitment team. A deal to take Fallows to Anfield had been agreed prior to Rodgers' arrival. Rodgers, though, continued to add pieces to the jigsaw. He pushed for the appointment of Barry Hunter, another City scout whom Rodgers had co ...
Gerrard: Henderson "Only Going to Become Better and Better" From makeweight in a failed transfer deal last August to a regular in the starting eleven by season's end, Jordan Henderson's had an impressive campaign, one upon which his captain thinks he can continue to build. It's easy to forget the amount of overhaul Liverpool experienced last summer; Kenny Dalglish was gone, Brendan Rodgers was on his way in, and four of the five signings from the past year seemed set for exits. Craig Bellamy's heart (and family) were in Wales, Charlie Adam clearly didn't fit in Rodgers' plans, Andy Carroll would suffer a similar fate, and both Stewart Downing and Jordan Henderson were set to depart. The latter came closest, shopped relentlessly in the final days of the transfer window, most notably as a makeweight in the failed approach to Fulham for Clint Dempsey. And now, less than ten months later, his Liverpool future appears far more secure, solidified by a string of performances that saw him become Liverpool's most ...
Stewart Downing finally has people on his side, with Liverpool fans now starting to praise his recent performances and his attitude. However, it is my firm opinion that Liverpool now need to get nasty if it has real aspirations to grow as a club and sell Downing this summer. Downing was signed in the summer of 2011 by Kenny Dalglish for £20m on the back of a good season with Aston Villa where he scored seven goals and made nine assists in the Premier League. Dalglish saw his new signing as a wing wizard who would deliver crosses for his £35m striker, Andy Carroll. Many fans recognised that he was a proven Premier League player who had a very good season with Aston Villa, however, the majority felt the club had again overspent on a player who was not guaranteed to deliver in the famous red shirt. Downing became Liverpool’s fourth most expensive signing, yet was he really in the same class as Fernando Torres and Luis Suarez? The 2011/12 season saw the fans’ initial worries materialise with Downing hav ...
--Brendan Rodgers will have money to spend this summer even though Liverpool’s latest financial results show their debt rose £22million to £87.2million. The figures cover last season under Kenny Dalglish and the club’s finances have since been boosted by a £46.8million interest-free loan from American owners FSG and the £25million-a-year Warrior kit deal. Rodgers will continue the club’s policy of offloading high-earning fringe players and Andy Carroll will be told to find another club if he does not join West Ham permanently in the summer. Managing Director Ian Ayre said: “These financial results are now up to 18 months old and show that we have made some good progress towards putting the financial health of the club on a firmer footing.” -zz

Fernando Torres – one of the club’s most loved players had handed in a transfer request for a move to Premier League rivals Chelsea. Liverpool acceded to the player’s demands and Torres made his way to Stamford Bridge after smashing the British Transfer Record. Comolli - Kenny Dalglish and I Were Judged Too Quickly Damien Comolli has broken his silence over his dismissal by Liverpool with an admission that he remains “frustrated” and “annoyed” at the way his brief tenure as director of football was brought to an abrupt end. Comolli was removed from his post in April, with Tom Werner, the Liverpool chairman, adamant that it was “time to act”, having determined that the Frenchman “was not the right person” to implement the strategy that the club’s owner, Fenway Sports Group (FSG), had put in place. Privately, FSG cited misgivings over Liverpool’s transfer policy under Comolli’s direction, with their chief accusation being that he had failed to achieve value for money in a number of transactions, most notably the £35 million deal that resulted in Andy Carroll moving to Liverpool from Newcastle United in January 2011. Comolli, though, maintains that judgment was passed far too early and selectively, with insufficient time being given for Jorda ...

This Derren Brown is amazing, I heard he was the guy who hypnotised Kenny Dalglish into spending £55m on Andy Carroll and Jordan Henderson..
Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has sent Andy Carroll to warm up. Probably figures if Bendtner can score, than anyone can!
With a crazy last 12 hours of the transfer market still to go, I would like to declare my right to retract everything I say in this column on Saturday morning. By then, I might be well and truly exposed for writing *** But for now, with managers playing their hands like poker players and the rest of us outside the casino, this is how I see it. As I see it, I like Liverpool. I like Brendan Rodgers. I like what he appears to be doing, what he appears to be trying. I am not suggesting for a moment that Liverpool fans can wake up on Saturday morning safe in the knowledge that the good days are back, but I think it is a good start. And the irony of that is that, in the transfer market, he seems to be going out of his way to unpick all the stitching that Kenny Dalglish left behind. The popularity curve of Andy Carroll seems to have been rising and falling like a heartbeat these last two years, but having persuaded West Ham to come up with a reasonable offer, then it is clearly a move firmly in the directi ...
Dailymail.co.uk : Liverpool looking to offload midfielders Adam and Spearing to fund £7.5m Dempsey bid Liverpool are desperately trying to raise money to fund a £7.5million bid for wantaway Fulham star Clint Dempsey. New Reds manager Brendan Rodgers has been tracking the American international all summer, but after already spending £25m on Fabio Borini and Joe Allen he needs to sell before he can buy again. ... With an Andy Carroll departure from Anfield looking less likely by the day, Rodgers is now looking to offload midfielders Charlie Adam and Jay Spearing, according to the Daily Mirror. Both Adam and Spearing were favourites of former Anfield boss Kenny Dalglish, but Rodgers sees neither as playing a part in his first team plans with Steven Gerrard, Lucas Leiva and Allen his preferred midfield trio. Adam, 26, has been offered to Fulham as a £2.5m makeweight as part of the Dempsey deal, although it is thought the Scot is not keen on a move to London. Merseyside rivals Everton are interested in Ada ...
The two sides will be meeting for the 32nd time in the past eight seasons after becoming familiar foes, and the contrasting emotions they experienced at the weekend will still be very near the surface when the players walk out at Anfield. It was Chelsea who were celebrating at Wembley after prevailing 2-1 thanks to goals from Ramires and Didier Drogba, with Andy Carroll pulling one back for Liverpool. Carroll then came agonisingly close to equalising but Petr Cech's extraordinary save, which kept the debate over goalline technology raging, left the Reds to reflect on a disappointing afternoon. Kenny Dalglish says he will not *** how the season has gone until it comes to a close on Sunday, but Liverpool have little else to play for except pride as their supporters contemplate an unsatisfactory mid-table finish. They will at least be looking to exact a modicum of revenge for their Wembley heartache and could still finish seventh if they beat the Blues and then Swansea at the weekend, with Merseyside riva .. ...

Tables 17m pounds For Carroll ! Sky Sports sources understand West Ham United have made a £17m bid to sign Liverpool Striker Andy Carroll. The Premier League new-boys are said to have offered to pay an initial £2m loan fee before sealing a permanent deal next summer. If they are successful it would be a record signing for the Hammers, dwarfing the £9m they paid for Savio Nsereko in January 2009. Liverpool are thought to be willing to listen to offers for the permanent sale of Carroll, who they signed from Newcastle in a record £35m deal under Kenny Dalglish in January 2011.IRE O.

London: Liverpool’s owner sacked the club’s manager Kenny Dalglish (King Kenny) on Wednesday after bad Premier League season. The decision has its roots in the fact Liverpool was 37 points behind the winners Manchester City. Dalglish was given more than 159 million dollars to spend in the transfer market since he took over from the sacked Roy Hodgson in 2011, AFP reported. Liverpool’s previous managers like Andy Carroll, Stewart Downing, Jordan Henderson and Charlie Adam also could not work well. “Fenway Sports Group and Liverpool Football Club announce that Kenny Dalglish is to leave his post today as manager after having his contract terminated,” a joint statement said. “After a careful and deliberative review of the season the club came to the decision that a change was appropriate. It is not a decision that was reached lightly or hastily. The search for a new manager will begin immediately.” However, the club win this season League Cup, but Chelsea beat them with ease in the FA Cup final ...

Kenny Dalglish sacked? Yeh because a new manager is what you need to become Premier League champions isn't it Liverpool? Especially when you have quality players like Stewart Downing & Andy Carroll! :-S
Sky sources understand Liverpool have parted company with manager Kenny Dalglish, with Wigan's Roberto Martinez favourite to replace him. Dalglish returned to Liverpool in January 2011 as caretaker under new owners Fenway Sports Group and was then appointed on a three-year permanent deal last summer. After spending £35million on Andy Carroll, he then invested a further £80million last summer, but Premier League results have been poor and despite a Carling Cup final success, it was their worst league campaign since the 1950s. The Reds lost the FA Cup final to Chelsea and ended up finishing eighth in the league, below city rivals Everton. After Dalglish flew to America earlier this week to meet the club's owners, a decision has been made to part ways and it is understood that FSG already have targets in mind. Sky Sports understands that Wigan boss Martinez is top of their list of targets and the man who turned Aston Villa down last summer could find it hard to shun a switch to Anfield.
Why would Roy Hodgson ask Kenny Dalglish about Andy Carroll ? He paid £35m for him and he can't integrate him into the Liverpool team
Liverpool are reportedly considering making a move for out of favour Man United striker Dimitar Berbatov. Kenny Dalglish is looking to beef up his Anfield attacking options but still has faith in Andy Carroll to deliver the goods in the long term and is therefore looking for an experienced back-up options with a proven Premier League record and sees a move for the Bulgarian international as a viable option.

Liverpool forward Andy Carroll should definitely be in England’s squad for this summer’s Euros according to Kenny Dalglish. The Reds manager is of firm belief that the 23-year old, £35million striker is in good enough form to contribute to the Three Lions’ cause in Poland and Ukraine or at least represent Team Great Britain at the London Olympics. "Andy will benefit from the fact he has been here for a year and has not had any problems with injuries," he said. "But the quality in the last couple of games has been fantastic and he has been building up to that for the whole season. "I'm sure he will come back next season very much encouraged by his performances and starting afresh. "We don't know what is going to happen with Andy yet - whether he is going to be away with England in the championships or chosen for the Olympics. "I am not going to pick either Stuart Pearce's or Roy's team but if you want to play for your national side - and he does - or the Olympics - and he would do if he was picked - ...

Kenny Dalglish heaped praise on a number of his players, including striker Andy Carrroll, following Liverpool's 4-1 thrashing of Chelsea on Tuesday.
FA Cup final officials deserve credit over Carroll goal-line decision, says Dalglish The striker saw his second-half header clawed from underneath the bar by Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech, while replays were unable to confirm whether the ball crossed the line.. Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish maintains the FA Cup match officials should 'get the credit they deserve' after replays were unable to prove that Andy Carroll's headerhad crossed the line against Chelsea at Wembley. The England international had provided a lifeline for Liverpool after netting in the second half tocut Chelsea's two-goal advantage but saw his subsequent header froma Luis Suarez cross clawed from underneath the bar by Petr Cech. Dalglish admits his initial reaction was that the goal should have been awarded but concedes he has not seen the incident again since. "There's no television in there so I don't know I haven't seen it," Dalglish told ITV . "I thought it'd gone in but that's not me judging if it's gone over theline or not. If i ...
Fa Cup Final, Liverpool v Chelsea, Ramires; Juan Mata Didier Drogba scored a record- breaking fourth FA Cup final goal to seal glory for Chelsea who won 2-1 despite an Andy Carroll -inspired Liverpool coming within millimetres of a comeback. A quality-starved first half was punctured only after 11 minutes when Ramires capitalised on a series of Liverpool errors to burst down the right and slot into the net. Drogba’s historic finish soon after half-time looked to have Chelsea comfortable, but Carroll came off the bench to slam home an emphatic finish shortly past the hour. He thought he had pulled off an astonishing comeback in the 82nd minute when he powered a header at the far post, but somehow Petr Cech was able to claw it back before crossing the whole of the line, those few millimetres securing the Blues' triumph as they held off a furious final assault. Kenny Dalglish opted to leave Carroll on the bench, Luis Suarez playing alone up front with the likes of Steven Gerrard and Craig Bellamy forward i ...
Just saw Kenny Dalglish makin a signal to Andy Carroll, told him to give his boots to Ian Rush & then borrow JJ Shelvys phone to call Robbie Fowler!!
The continued absences of Lucas Leiva (cruciate ligaments) and Charlie Adam (knee) mean that Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish will have to choose between youngsters Jay Spearing and Jonjo Shelvey in central midfield, with the latter's better showing in Tuesday's 1-0 loss to Fulham perhaps enough to secure a starting role. Luis Suarez was rested for that game but he should return, having hit a hat- trick in his last outing against Norwich City as the main striker, with captain Steven Gerrard set to support him and potential partner Andy Carroll dropping to the bench. The worry for interim Chelsea boss Roberto Di Matteo will be at centre- back, where David Luiz and Gary Cahill (both hamstring) are serious doubts to be able to partner John Terry at the back. The likelihood is that neither will be risked and Branislav Ivanovic will start alongside the Blues' captain. Ashley Cole and Frank Lampard should return to the starting line-up after starting the midweek defeat by Newcastle on the bench, while Fernando ...

Andy Carroll let rip with a volley of abuse at boss Kenny Dalglish as Liverpool went into meltdown-Daily Mirror
I admire Kenny Dalglish for what he has achieved both as a player and as a coach of Liverpool. But i do think that the signings hes made since taking the reins at anfield arent good enough for a club with the history and tradition that liverpool has. Jose Enrique has been dalgish best signing. Andy Carroll is a good player he showed that at newcastle but i cant see him being at liverpool long term. I dont think Charlie Adam and Jorden henderson are good enough for liverpool. I think dalgish is the right man to take liverpool forward but it will take time.
