 A special edition of Sunday Street to celebrate Bob Dylan's forthcoming 73rd Birthday. Today we celebrate Dylan's music on air while last night we did it at The University Cafe with our annual Dylan Birthday Celebration show featuring The Kennedys, Rod MacDonald, Russ Seeger, Steve Kaplan, Brian Kachejian, Tom Ryan and special guest, Andrew Fortier. Today's program centered on Another Side of Bob Dylan, his fourth album which sees the 50th anniversary of its release on August 8th. Tracks from that album, as well as outtakes and other songs from the June 9th session for the album, were featured along with other songs from the Dylan catalogue and covers of his songs. Hurricane Carter Dies; Boxer Wrongly Committed of Murder Was 76: Rubin "Hurricane" Carter, a legendary boxer who spent 19 years in prison on a wrongful murder conviction, died this morning at home in Toronto. He was 76 years old. According to friend John Artis, Carter passed away from prostate cancer, a disease for which he was being treated for an unknown period of time. In 1966, Carter was convicted charges of fatally shooting two men and a woman in a Paterson, New Jersey restaurants. It took nearly two decades, but both jury verdicts were eventually overturned on different grounds of prosecutorial misconduct. Prior to his legal battles and imprisonment, Carter was known as a fearsome fighter. He narrowly lost a fight for the middleweight championship in 1964. Carter rose to national acclaim during his lengthy battle to clear his name, with Amnesty International describing him as a “prisoner of conscience” at one point. Ken Regan, Iconic Rock & Roll Photographer, Dies of Cancer By Andy Greene | November 27, 6:15 PM ET Photographer Ken Regan, best known for his iconic images of Bob Dylan, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen and Jimi Hendrix, died of cancer on November 25th, Rolling Stone has confirmed. A spokesperson for his studio declined to give Regan's age, calling him "ageless." A native of the Bronx, New York, Regan logged countless hours on the road with rock stars, shooting the Beatles on their 1965 tour, Hendrix at the Fillmore East in 1968, Springsteen on the Amnesty International tour in 1988 and Neil Young at the Ryman Auditorium in 2005.
