2015: APC will visit Obasanjo soon – Buhari As part of its ongoing efforts to win more political gladiators into the party ahead of the 2015 general elections, the leadership of the All Progressive Congress, APC, has said it would soon visit former president, Olusegun Obasanjo. A former Head of State and a chieftain of the party, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, made this known on Wednesday in Abuja, while speaking with newsmen at the residence of former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. The party chieftain noted that the leadership of the APC, had been paying courtesy visits to prominent Nigerians and it was high time they visited Chief Obasanjo. He said: “We have been visiting others; like the G7 Governors; we have visited former heads of state, and we intend to visit Former President Olusegun Obasanjo any time he is available, to ask for understanding and brief him on why we formed the APC.” Buhari said he was happy with the outcome of the meeting between the leadership of the APC and Abubakar. “The political irritant called, Malam Nasir El Rufai” By Iyke Nwambie Malam Nasir El Rufai came into the political consciousness of Nigerians only a few years ago courtesy of the large hearts of the duo of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Chief Olusegun Obasanjo. He was first appointed the Director general of the bureau of public enterprise, (BPE) and was later upgraded to a full-fledged minister when he served as the minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. Since then, he had remained in the public foyer, speaking at will and saying whatever caught his fancy. Some of his remarks often stir the nastiest form of controversies since he would always speak like someone who woke up on the wrong side of his bed, because he would say one thing today and apologize the next week. Take for instance, one time he lambasted the senators for demanding a bribe of 50 million naira from him only to retrieve the same comment for lack of evidence, at a different time, he praised Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to high heaven .. ...

He is however, inspired by doing what he loves to do best which is Public Relations. In order to discover himself, he sojourned into diverse fields that ranged from banking to presentation of programmes in broadcasting and then Public Relations, which gave him the window of opportunity to work with the team that produced the winning campaign strategy for former Nigerian President, Olusegun Obasanjo and his running mate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar in 2002. In this interview, he speaks on how his thirst for self discovery gave his career a boost. Excerpts. Nigerian Politicians and the Spirit of Unforgiveness: Obasanjo-Atiku Case Study By Obinna Akukwe Politicians of Nigerian extraction have the penchant to run down enemies until they have been crushed by a moving trailer, ciourtesy of their spirit of unforgiveness. Unforgiveness, by my observation, is a spirit which keeps reminding one of the wrong, injury done by the other party even when it is illogical, unreasonable or untenable to hold on to such grievances. The person therefore, prays for opportunity to seek revenge. One of the hallmarks of Nigerian politician is their ability to extract a pound of flesh from a perceived political opponent even at the expense of national development. In this essay I would limit the discussion to two prominent personalities, Former President Olusegun Obasanjo who fought his erstwhile deputy, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and another case of Governor of Enugu State Sullivan Chime who fought a former governor and immediate past National Chairman of the ruling PDP until the late . ...
A*L*A*M*S! Is Behind My Persecution, Those Against My State Pardon Are Ill-informed – Alamieyeseigha# Former Governor of Bayelsa State, Chief Diepreye Alamieyeseigha, has alleged that his arrest and prosecution for financial crimes was due to the face-off between Former President Olusegun Obasanjo and his vice, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar over the 2007 presidency. In a chat with newsmen in Lagos, Alamieyeseigha said he was persecuted by President Obasanjo because Atiku Abubakar wanted him as his running mate during the 2007 presidential election. His words: “The summary of it is that Atiku Abubakar, according to Obasanjo, nominated me as his running mate. End of story. He (Obasanjo) said it was over his dead body and that he would fight me and Atiku to the end of the world. He said that unless he dies, Atiku could not be president of Nigeria. That was the beginning and the end of the story. “Maybe the only mistake I made was that I left this country to Germany for medical surgery. Again, I made the mistak ...
Adamawa:- The Nagging Question! We started on the right footing in 1999 when the state had the chance of producing the No. 2 citizen in person of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. With that, Adamawa State had an opportunity to develop into a modern city through the influence of the Vice-President and re-positions itself into one of the fastest growing cities in the African sub-region! It is on record that soon after his swearing-in, Atiku became powerful, influential and this made him to be the powerful Vice-President in the world. No Vie-President has ever wielded the power and influence as Atiku did! Unfortunately, he became power-drunk, over-blooted with ego and decided to engage his Boss, the then President, Olusegun Obasanjo into a senseless political battle which was later to crippled him and reduced him into a political liability. The nagging question on the lips of many is whether or not Atiku, having made nonsense of the golden opportunity the state had to transform itself and becomes what it wants to be, . ...
