Muhammadu Buhari in the Coming Election Introduction In this article, I will be calling on Christians to vote for the person of General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd) in the forth coming Presidential elections in Nigeria. I am a fellow Christian; a minister of the gospel, who is however convinced that a person like Buhari is one who has the leadership potentials to lead Nigeria out of the unfortunate situation we have found ourselves as a country. I do not know the General personally and I have not been paid by him or his associate to write this. Why Buhari? The Nigerian political melodrama is shoring up three individuals that are likely to be the leading candidates for the Febuary 14th, 2015 presidential elections. They are the incumbent president of the nation, Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Gen. Muha . ...
APC rules out Fashola as Vice Presidential candidate The Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola (SAN), has been ruled out as a running mate to the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress anytime the candidate emerges, investigation by The PUNCH has revealed. A highly placed source in the party, who spoke with our correspondent on condition of anonymity in Abuja on Sunday, said that Fashola’s religion had ruled him out of the race. He said since it was almost certain that the party would field a Muslim as its presidential candidate, it would therefore be out of place to field another Muslim as the running mate. Apart from a former Head of State, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), the party also has three other known presidential aspirants. They are a former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar; Governor of Kano State, Rabiu Kwakwanso; and a newspaper publisher, Mr. Sam Nda-Isaiah. Out of them, only Nda-Isaiah is a Christian. The source said that though Fashola remained the best candidat ...

In this regard, I write this open letter to the leaders of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), through the following indefatigable leaders of our party: Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu, Gen Muhammadu Buhari, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, ...
We’re more comfortable with APC —G7 govs, nPDP *Atiku, G7 govs are ingrates — PDP ABUJA—AMIDST series of ongoing meetings and moves for realignment of forces, the Abubakar Kawu Baraje-led splitter group of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, yesterday, said that it was more comfortable with the leadership and members of All Progressive Congress, APC. The group, meanwhile, added that doors of reconciliation with the National Chairman of PDP, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur and the National Working Committee, NWC were still open. On Atiku, G7 govs In another development, the PDP has described the former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the seven rebel governors and other aggrieved members of the party as ingrates. The party said that their action was synonymous to an act of biting the fingers that fed them, saying that the party was not bothered by the recent intensified efforts being made by APC to woo some of its governors. 6,000 decampees PDP National Secretary, Professor Wale Oladipo, weekend, shortly aft ...
A serious problem in Nigeria is the gap between academe and the mass media, which is our culture. Professors of humanities, with all their leftist fantasies, have little direct knowledge of Nigeria life and no impact whatever on public policy. I don't see anybody to be a true Northern leader in Nigerian to warrant my respect, the same group of people parading themselves as Northern elders are the ones that endorse Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as northern consensus presidential candidate, when it was rightly clear that Gen. Muhammadu Buhari remains the only person loved by every single Northerner. Which sane group will ever cast his die for Atiku? Pay less attention to this group of people because they meant no good for the region rather than personal glorification. Let them point out their achievement in the north before talking. A civilized group is one who will give a serious answer to a serious question. Civilization itself is a certain sane balance of values.
Pastor Tunde Bakare. Senior Pastor of Latter Rain Assembly. My sojourn into full – time politics came in 2010 when the publicity secretary of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) came to me and asked me to help them talk to General Muhammadu Buhari to run on the plat form of the ACN as their Presidential candidate. I made conscientious effort to reach Gen. Buhari. I also spoke with Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, etc. and told them that we should all look for the best candidate to move this nation forward. Well, we did all our best and invited the arrow heads into my home, which was made up of the likes of Obi Okwesizili, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo – Iweala, Mr. Donald Duke, Mallam Nasir El – Rufai, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, Alhaji Tajudeen Fola Adeola, Chief Jimi Agbaje, etc. That was in July 2010. Some months after that historic meeting, I got a call from Gen. Muhammadu Buhari telling me that he has looked all over Nigeria for a running mate and has not found anyone except me! That was it! I rejecte ...
