Alex Smith & Patrick Willis
Alexander Douglas Smith (born May 7, 1984) is a professional American football player and starting quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers. Patrick L. Willis (born January 25, 1985) is an American football player who plays inside linebacker for the San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League (NFL). /5

49ers aren't wishing they had Alex Smith back. They're wishing they had Chris Borland and Patrick Willis back and that Aldo…
My first ever interview with Patrick Willis back in 2009.
The 49ers 1986 draft is widely considered the best in franchise history: Larry Roberts, Tom Rathman, Tim McKyer, John Taylor, Steve Wallace, Kevin Fagan, and Don Griffin. With former 49ers coach Mike Nolan coming to town as the Falcons defensive coordinator, it's important to note what impact his team had on the current 49er team. Check out the 2007 draft: Patrick Willis, Joe Staley, Ray McDonald, Dashon Goldson, and Tarrell Bown. They also drafted Alex Smith, Frank Gore, and Vernon Davis. GM Scott McCoughan is now in Seattle. No wonder they're so *** good. So give Jim Harbaugh the coaching credit..but don't forget who set the table.
I mean he only had Alex Smith, Frank Gore, Michael Crabtree, Vernon Davis, Justin Smith, Navarro Bowman, Patrick Willis . . .
Alex Smith, Patrick Willis, Michael Crabtree, Vernon Davis... all 1st rounders. I'll leave Kentwan Balmer out though.
So, I've been doing a lot of commenting but now after the dust has settled I would like to share my full take on Super Bowl XLVII. First off, if you know me in the slightest you know that I am a fan of the Eagles, but the 49ers have been my team for a number of years now. Besides the fact that I have lots of family who are 9er fans (including my wife), it just seems to work out well that in any given year either the Eagles or 49ers will be successful (Never both, just one.) I had my reservations this year with the controversial benching of Alex Smith, but ultimately I decided that a QB alone does not make the team and I still wanted them to do well for the other players I admired on the team like Vernon Davis and Patrick Willis. So I stayed true to my Plus, the Eagles were long out of the running by then, finding new and creative ways to embarass themselves week after week, so I picked the 9ers for the NFC and to hopefully win it all, especially since the hated Giants ruined their shot last year. An ...
So, in a few minutes its Ray Lewis' last game ever. His last challenge, his last test, his last drive, and his last heart race. But on the other side, is Collin Kapernick. A first year rookie, who got placed in there for a hurt Alex Smith. And it's his FIRST challenge, his FIRST test, his FIRST heart race, and his drive. So, who this game really about. Well I'll tell you it's about those players who have dreamed to play in this game since they were little kids. For the players who don't give up an always put in the effort for 60 minutes and don't give up. History is about to unfold and just let me ask you this one question. Who will make the history tonight? Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, Joe Flacco, and Ray Rice an the Ravens. Or Collin Kapernick, Patrick Willis, and Frank Gore and the 49ers? It's game time and were about to find out WHO WILL MAKE THE HISTORY TONIGHT? Ray Lewis AND THE RAVENS OR Collin Kapernick ANd the 49ers?
We welcome you, bandwagon fans, the more Niner love the merrier. But please remember during your posts that we have a lot more going on than Kaepernick (as magical as he is) We couldn't have gotten this far without Frank Gore, Michael Crabtree, Vernon Davis, Justin and Aldon Smith, Navorro Bowman, Patrick Willis, and even Alex Smith for sticking through. Jim Harbaugh is a revolutionary coach and we have been waiting patiently, through many bad seasons, for this team to come together again. 49er love baby. ❤❤
The Ravens' tight ends will not do anything against Patrick Willis or Navarro Bowman. Frank Gore WILL run on the Ravens defense. Who on the Ravens defense is fast enough to keep up with Kaepernick if he takes off? Torrey Smith will get a few big catches, but thats ok, let him get his 3 catches for 120 yards and a touchdown, it won't matter. You think Bryant Mckinnie is fast enough to keep up with Aldon Smith? I don't...Michael Oher should keep Ahmad Brooks in check pretty well...who on the Ravens can matchup with Vernon Davis? I don't think anybody can, so either he will have a huge game or they will keep the safety in the middle and Crabtree or Randy Moss will run wild. Iupati is a beast, and he can take on Haloti Ngata...I see the 49ers taking it...Alex Smith players the last series, victory formation...

There are a lot of Niners like Alex Smith and Randy Moss. Frank Gore, Patrick Willis and Vernon Davis who deserve it more than Ray Lewis
Just got of phone with cuz in law who is with Patrick Willis in NOLA and met Kapernick, Alex Smith and Merril Hodge today
Alex Smith is seeking his release from the 49ers. I say get the only ring you'll ever wear and get to steppin. If you can't get past Eli Manning with the help of Frank Gore, Patrick Willis and Justin Smith, you aren't worthy of being on the greatest team that ever was. Peace!
I could be happy with Randy Moss & Patrick Willis getting rings. On the other hand, I could be happy with Ed Reed & Terrell Suggs getting rings. And Anquan Boldin. And Holoti Ngata. And Frank Gore. And Alex Smith. And... Dang. I guess I'll be rooting for a good game, as opposed to a side. & Can we give everyone a ring at the end of this one?
The 49ers r simply the better team in this NFL NFC Championship Game. In addition 2 Kaepernick, they have playmakers like running back Frank Gore, wide receiver Michael Crabtree and tight end Vernon Davis. Alex Smith who lead the 49ers 2 last year's NFL NFC Championship Game and was replaced by Kaepernick during the season is read 2 step in should Kaepernick get injured. The defense is also stellar with playmakers like defensive end Justin Smith, linebacker Donte Whitner, cornerback Carlos Rogers and free safety Patrick Willis. Their special teams r excellent with punter Andy Lee and veteran kicker David Akers.
What I imagine Rodgers and Alex Smith's little pre-game chat went like: Rodgers- "How's it feel riding the bench behind Kaepernick?" Smith- "How's it feel getting smacked in the face by Patrick Willis and Aldon Smith? You know I only make 3 mill less than you, right..."
Talkin like Patrick Willis gettin playing time like Alex Smith lol
It’s been a unique week for the San Francisco 49ers as they prepare for a Week 11 showdown against the Chicago Bears on “Monday Night Football.”First, it began with the media monitoring every move made by quarterback Alex Smith, days removed from the concussion he suffered against the St. Louis Rams...
Yea voted for my niners to go to the pro bowl..for sure bored for Vernon Davis and Alex Smith, Patrick Willis! Guna vote again and again!
Alex Smith & Patrick Willis are definitely some of the most inspiring people to me.
What happens when you put a fan in the locker room with Patrick Willis, Alex Smith and the 49ers? You get one epic pep talk. Get a chance to go in an NFL loc...
Beastin' with Patrick Willis on Defense & Beastin' with Vernon Davis on Offense with lots of good play calling from Alex Smith on Madden.. Im the best cant nobody see me in Madden son!!!
Lets do it again Patrick Willis. Stong D today. Gore lets get some yards. Vernon Davis lets get them hands going and MVP Alex Smith no picks keep them good. Aldon Smith sacks sacks sacks. Justin Smith bring the heat. Bowman your turn for a pick. Nineers all day. WHO Crabtree, Moss and Manningham no drops T.D's all day. IM READY.
49ers LB Patrick Willis talked to about beating the Jets, confidence in Alex Smith and MORE.
Lol got this of a jetsblog and the funny thing is its true. "On the game film from yesterday, the coaching staff is going to see what a legitimate Super Bowl contender looks like. The 49ers are the team Rex Ryan wants. A smash-mouth, versatile running game supported by an efficient quarterback on offense and an elite defense that can get after the quarterback and force turnovers. The New York Jets can’t be them because Muhammad Wilkerson isn’t Justin Smith. David Harris isn’t Patrick Willis. Quinton Coples isn’t Aldon Smith. Bart Scott isn’t Navorro Bowman. Not even remotely close. Shonn Greene isn’t half the running back Frank Gore is. Dustin Keller is a very poor man’s Vernon Davis. Colin Kapernick is a fast Tim Tebow who can throw the football. And right now, Mark Sanchez isn’t anywhere near the quarterback Alex Smith is and that is saying something because Smith isn’t very good."
Well everyone the 49ers won 34-0. Alex Smith was 12-21 143 yards 0 Td 0 Int, Frank Gore had 21 Rush, 62 yards 1 TD. Carlos Rogers returned a fumble 51 yards for a touchdown, and Frank Gore, Kendall Hunter and backup quarterback Colin Kaepernick - on a wildcat-style option - all ran for scores. Grant blocked a punt. Patrick Willis had an INT and the 49ers Def showed everyone why they are one of the BEST if no the BEST. Well everyone I will be back on later tonight to give an update on the cowgirls when they loose to the bears.
The Is the San Francisco 49ers. They have stars like Alex Smith,Patrick Willis,Randy Moss,Vernon Davis, and Frank Gore.
“y'all should trade Alex Smith and Patrick Willis for him lol” Y'all should trade Romo and Jerry Jones for him
Absolutely cannot believe we just met Patrick Willis, Alex Smith, and Ted Ginn!
Alex Smith has been wearing a Giants hat and so has Patrick Willis, thank you Niners!!
San Francisco looked like they are picking up right where they left off last season. Frank Gore is still a force to be respected but the 2nd and 3rd RB's were also great. The Niners have one of the best offensive lines in the game and Alex Smith and his receivers were on point too. The Niners defense was spectacular too, Patrick Willis has to be the top Linebacker in football. The Niners are dangerous because they are very balanced when it come to offense and defense. If you have been following me u know I also like Denver and I think Denver is the better team but if they were to play each other this week I think that San Francisco would beat Denver but give Peyton Manning more time and they win in the Superbowl.
My team the 49ers looked awesome yesterday. We kicked the Packers *** in Green Bay. Alex Smith is the real deal... and we have great recievers and balanced offense. And the best defense in the NFL. Patrick Willis to the best middle linebacker in the league. Watch for my 49ers. I can smell Super Bowl.
Everybody that knows Golden Stewart... Tell him that Alex Smith, Patrick Willis, and I all said, "Shut up!"
49ers players elect Alex Smith, Frank Gore, Justin Smith, Patrick Willis as team captains, coach Jim Harbaugh just announced.
had a great time at the game yesterday. I was very impressed with how well the Texans defensive starters were able to consistently pressure Alex Smith. I got to see first hand that Patrick Willis is the real deal and the 49ers running game is on point. I was also impressed by the Texans offensive line I thought they did a good job keeping Matt Schaub upright and away from the beast that is Justin Smith.
Alright, it's my favorite time of year. Football season. It's also touring season, so I'll probably miss QUITE A FEW games this year. For those of you that don't know, I'm a die hard Bronco's fan (I've a had a frightening John Elway obsession for YEARS!). But, living in the Bay Area (the greatest area in North America as far as I'm concerned) I get a steady diet of 9ners and Raider football. I don't like either team, but I did get a chance to check out the Raiders and 9ner's opening Pre-Season games. Here's my unbiased opinion on both squads. The 9ners are a team that totally embody the personality of their coach. A tough, smart team, who BELIEVES they are an elite football team. I believe them too. Alex Smith is EXACTLY like Andrew Luck. Good size, can make all the throws, and now with the tutelage of Jim Harbaugh, he's an accurate QB who doesn't make stupid mistakes. Their WR's fit perfectly into their run first scheme, unselfish strong WR's who run good routes, and an amazing TE that will ...
Out of all the sports, QB is the hardest position, n what Alex Smith did last year to come from the bottom is crazy, even though Vick didnt have a good year, you got a time frame of less than 2 seconds to scan the field for an open wr,, n if u got good protection about 5 seconds.. Get behind center, n see how fast u flinch at 200 plus lbs Patrick Willis coming for u,, no thank u
For those of you with insider info, that's my "boy", Vernon Davis! ;) Congrats to the San Francisco 49ers for winning an ESPY! Thanks for the great season! Extra special props (do people still give those out) to Alex Smith and Mr. Davis for that amazing play at the end of the NFC Championship!
Patrick Willis & Alex Smith always hang out at my local mall. P. Willis drives a meeean Panemera.
So glad to see 49ers QB Alex Smith coming out with some moxy! Seems like a very nice guy, but proves that he has both confidence and leadership. And Panthers LB Jon Beason, why don't your D step up your game before you speak. I'm a little biased, but I'm sure the 49ers would crush the Panthers, and as good as Cam is, he would get crushed by Justin Smith, Aldon Smith, Patrick Willis, Larry Brooks, Navorro Bowman, Isaac Sapoaga or get intercepted by Carlos Rogers, Tarrell Brown, Donte Whitner or Dashon Goldson. 2012 is OUR YEAR!
Patrick Willis jumps into the Alex Smith-Cam Newton fray via
First we have Alex Smith attack Cam Newton, then Jon Beason attacks Alex Smith, and now we have Patrick Willis attacking Cam Newton and Jon Beason. Who gets involved next?
The Saints bounty suspensions are Roger Goodell's way of keeping the Saints from having home field advantage in the superbowl. The NFL has had this information since 09 and has held it off til this point because the Saints were a cash cow given their recent success. They claim new information, but to anyone that watched the Saints make Alex Smith look like Joe Montana in their playoff this new evidence seems bogus. If anyone was earning a bounty that game it was Patrick Willis when he laid out Pierre Thomas. What we as fans need to realize is Goodell won't be happy until the players are playing 2 hand touch.
I still can't believe how STACKED the 49ers are this year! AJ, Moss, LaMicheal James, Crabtree, Ginn, Patrick Willis, Gore, & Alex Smith!
I think 49ers should get Hardknocks. Coach w/ personality, development of Alex Smith, and Patrick Willis is a monster.
Big Sunday at the Cow Palace today! Meet Tony LaRussa, Alex Smith, Aldon Smith, Patrick Willis, Justin Smith & more!
A week after aiding in the search for missing Morgan Hill teen Sierra LaMar, 49ers quarterback Alex Smith did so again Saturday, and he brought along several 49ers teammates to help, too.
