Alex Smith & Aaron Rodgers

when Alex Smith is playing like this the only guy you can compare him to is Aaron Rodgers. he's finally justifying being the pick

My favorite QB's in the NFL are Alex Smith and Aaron Rodgers. 😁
He is closer to Joe Flacco, Trent Dilfer and Alex Smith, than Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady and Dan Marino.
Can you think if Aaron Rodgers went to San Fran and Alex Smith went to Green Bay in 05'? You think things changed? Nope.
If the Niners picked Aaron Rodgers over Alex Smith we could have been 7 and 0 in Superbowl's.
The drafted Carlos Rogers with the 9th pick in the same draft as Aaron Rodgers. Only QB drafted ahead of Rodgers? Alex Smith
Also Scott has made mistakes. He passed on Aaron Rodgers for Alex Smith
Watching highlights of 2003 Cal vs. Utah on PAC-12 Network. Aaron Rodgers, Alex Smith, and Urban Meyer before they were all famous.
Chiefs-Packers final score: Alex Smith is not good, Aaron Rodgers is very good ...
It’s one thing that Alex Smith was a college QB drafted ahead of Aaron Rodgers. It’s another that Matt Jones was, too.
Free play Alex Smith has cable. Free play Aaron Rodgers has Directv.
It's creepy how similar Aaron Rodgers and Alex Smith look.
My only hope for the 49ers is that they don't get the overall pick b/c they wasted that 10 years ago on Alex Smith, not Aaron Rodgers .
The NFL continues to surprise us. . At the half, Alex Smith has more TD passes than Andrew Luck, Aaron Rodgers, & Russell…
The drafted Alex Smith and Aldon Smith over JJ Watt and Aaron Rodgers.
If you like or liked Alex Smith you are stupid. Cool he beat up on the Mountain West in college. Aaron Rodgers wanted to be a 49er too lol
Winston and Mariota likely another Manning/Leaf, but which is which?: Alex Smith and Aaron Rodgers in 2005 and...
I feel like Marcus Mariota is in the same situation with Jamies Winston as Aaron Rodgers was with Alex Smith
The biggest mistake the 49ers ever made was picking Alex Smith over Aaron Rodgers.
Imagine if the 49ers had picked Aaron Rodgers instead of Alex Smith.
For the most part, they suck and we know it. Alex Smith isn't Aaron Rodgers, but neither is anyone else.

Alex Smith, Peyton Manning, and Aaron Rodgers vs the bills defense guess each one. (Without looking it up)
The 49ers taking Alex Smith instead of Aaron Rodgers is the NFL version of the Blazers taking Sam Bowie instead of Michael Jordan
Is it me or do Alex Smith and Aaron Rodgers look just alike?
Reminder that Alex Smith was taken like 20 some odd picks before Aaron Rodgers in the NFL draft
Alex Smith looks like Aaron Rodgers when he has a helmet on..
I'll say it every year until it doesn't hurt. We drafted Alex Smith overall when Aaron Rodgers was available. New Babe Ruth Curse
If only we took Aaron Rodgers instead of Alex Smith...
Random thought of the game. 9ers passed up on Aaron Rodgers in the Draft for Alex Smith. This game is about to get ugly
Imagine if the 49ers picked Aaron Rodgers instead of Alex Smith.
Life would be great if we drafted Aaron Rodgers over Alex Smith

If we made Aaron Rodgers look like Mark Sanchez, how mercilessly are we going to beat players like Romo and Alex Smith?
Winning Percentage over the last three seasons:. Aaron Rodgers (.775) . Tom Brady (.771) . Alex Smith (.763). He deserved …
but Aaron Rodgers is better than alex smith and the chiefs had a better record
How much is Tom Condon seeking for his client, Alex Smith? He has already landed Peyton Manning $18 Million a year, Drew Brees $18.4 Million a year, Tony Romo $17 Million a year, Matt Ryan $16.5 Million a year and will be negotiating hefty deals for Eli Manning and Matt Stafford, soon. Not long after Aaron Rodgers, Joe Flacco and Jay Cutler all with big deals and with other QBs working behind the scenes on extensions(Colin Kaepernick & Ben Roethlisberger) and others who will be needing dealt with over the next 12 months(Russell Wilson, Cam Newton, Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III) just how much can we pay Smith? Any extension, as discussed in depth; will already cost us the services of Tamba Hali. A huge extension, more then likely chops Brandon Flowers or Dwayne Bowe off, also. SO, serious questions. Are we at a place where we can even make this deal? Will Alex stick with his QB brethren and increase the average pay for QBs or will he cut us a deal?
There was only one QB taken ahead of Aaron Rodgers in the 2005 NFL draft - Alex Smith. Jason Campbell went the pick after Rodgers.
Would trading the next two drafts and Alex Smith to the Packers for Aaron Rodgers put the Chiefs over the hump, throw logic out the window?
I grade how good are these QB's by "tiers" or "categories". For Example, I give a QB a 6 if they are elite, 5 if they are very good, 4 if they are good, 3 if they are average, 2 if they are below average, and 1 if they are bad. Here is my opinion on top QB's. What is your ratings based on these QB's? 6- Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees 5- Ben Rothliesberger, Andrew Luck, Philip Rivers, Nick Foles, Matt Ryan 4- Ryan Tannehill, Alex Smith, Tony Romo, Jay Cutler, Cam Newton, Russell Wilson 3- Andy Dalton, Joe Flacco, Eli Manning, Robert Griffin III, Matthew Stafford, Mike Glennon, Colin Kaepernick, Carson Palmer 2- Bills QB's (Manuel, Lewis), Titans QB's (Locker, Fitzpatrick), Rams QB's (Bradford, Clemens), Raiders QB's (Pryor, McGloin) 1- Geno Smith, Chad Henne, Browns QB's (Weeden, Campbell), Vikings QB's (Ponder, Cassel, Freeman) I would put Kirk Cousins, Matt Flynn, Josh Mccown, Michael Vick, and Brian Hoyer somewhere in this system but they have not played enough games to earn a spec ...
My brother is meeting Aaron Rodgers, Alex Smith, Bill Belichick, and Tom Brady today😭 the jealousy is at a max right now
Was told this at work today.. " I'll take Alex smith over Aaron Rodgers" . This was my reaction.
Watching Peyton Manning, Alex Smith, and Aaron Rodgers play in the Pro-Am at Pebble Beach.. That's rad.
Two days of the AT&T Pebble Beach Celebrity Golf Tourney in the books! Got to see and meet some awesome people! Talked to Kid Rock, Chris Berman, and Herm Edwards and got to see Aaron Rodgers, Brian Kelly, Kelly Slater, Lucas Black, Wayne Gretzky, Tom Brady, Ray Romano, Alex Smith, Chris O'Donnell, Bill Belichick, T-Bone Burnett, Peyton Manning, Harris Barton, Phil Mickelson, Condaleeza Rice, and Clay Walker. It was an awesome two days with my brother!! :)
MANNING TO CURE Super Bowl HEARTACHE AT Pebble Beach NFL Most Valuable Player Peyton Manning will play in this week's AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am, just a few days after his Denver Broncos' 43-8 loss on Sunday to the Seattle Seahawks at the Super Bowl. Tournament officials confirmed the news Tuesday afternoon. Manning, who will play at a 7 handicap, will be one of many celebrity amateurs in the field. Several other NFL personalities are in the field, including fellow NFL quarterbacks Tom Brady (New England), Aaron Rodgers (Green Bay) and Alex Smith (Kansas City), as well as Patriots coach Bill Belichick. It will be Manning's second appearance in the tournament, having partnered with Webb Simpson in 2009. Manning has also played in other pro-am events on the PGA TOUR, including in 2009 at the Wells Fargo Championship when he played with Tiger Woods. Manning and Woods were also paired together in 2005 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by MasterCard. Manning won his fifth NFL MVP award in the ...
Yall know why Peyton Manning never gets referred to as a pretty boy? Cause he ain't pretty. As in Brady looks better. Oh, and so does Russel Wilson.and Aaron Rodgers. And Phillip Rivers. And Tim Tebow. And Alex Smith. And Cam. And Drew Brees. And Matt Stafford. And Christian Ponder. Peyt
I'll never get over gettin Scott over Trey Burke and Alex Smith over Aaron Rodgers
ill admit Nick Foles deserved to be in the pro bowl but Aaron Rodgers stats werent much worse than Alex Smith in 8 less games
So I'm trying to fathom how Alex Smith got a ProBowl bid over Aaron Rodgers??? I know ARod was hurt but still
Time to air it out? Alex Smith is in deep passing accuracy (.02 behind Aaron Rodgers)
you just said Alex Smith is superior to Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees, Tom Brady & the field. How is that not a joke?
Rivers, Big Ben and Alex Smith are top 12 fantasy Qbs with 4 weeks to go. Kaep, RG3 and Aaron Rodgers(injured) are not.
Remember when the Niners wound up with Alex Smith instead of Aaron Rodgers because Gruden drafted Cadillac Williams?
Alex Smith is a good QB, but it really is hard to believe scouts looked at him and Aaron Rodgers and decided he was the rig…
And in the other league, he started Alex Smith over Aaron Rodgers.
Had the courage to finally start Alex Smith lol of course with Aaron Rodgers on bye I was forced to.
Peyton Manning, Aaron Rodgers, Phillip Rivers, Alex Smith, Drew Brees, Tony Romo are all having a better year than Brady.
Good thing I've got beer in the house. My teams are going down the drain in a season full of unforeseen turmoil. This guy had Bradshaw in all 3 leagues, including a 12 team auction as my 3rd back. Bowe is in my ppr league, had a whopping 1.4 points for that 4 yard catch Thursday. Meanwhile, playing vs Jamaal who had 30 cuz Alex Smith can't throw the ball further than 5 yards. He is now Captain Checkdown. Save my opening rant, this start/sit will include some different sections. I hope you like it. LEAN ON ME Peyton Manning- Unstoppable force of nature. This is why you study, kids. Aaron Rodgers- A Aron is carrying the Pack again and doesn't miss Greg Jennings, like not even a little bit. LeSean McCoy- Pretty sure he's one of those fast paced zombies from 28 days later. So are Defenses. Jamaal Charles- Uh, did you see him destroy that safety on the pass block? That was for kicks AFTER he scored all his points. Randall Cobb + Jordy Nelson- With James Jones playing in the shadows, these guys are rolling. Cob ...

I knew the 49ers should never have gotten rid of Alex Smith.
Alex Smith and Aaron Rodgers look so much alike
Draft experts also said that Alex Smith was gonna be better then Aaron Rodgers
Among all QB's to make at least 20 starts over the last 2 seasons, only Aaron Rodgers (25-6) and Tom Brady (25-7) have a better record than Alex Smith (19-5-1).
So, the 9ers trade Alex Smith to Kansas City for some draft picks. This is unfortunate. The 9ers saw last year it takes TWO quarterbacks to make a serious run for the title. Makes no sense to me that they would do that. Kind of funny though on how Alex and Aaron have been treated while they've been in the NFL. Aaron Rodgers was a first round first pick draftee, but had to sit behind an aging Bret Favre for three or four years on the bench. Same year Alex Smith was a first round three pick I think, but has been treated basically the same way. Only difference... both QBs has proven they can lead a team to their division titles and to their conference title games, but once Alex got hurt the 9ers just threw him to the side like raw meat. Sometimes I wonder why the 9ers let players go that have proven they are winners. Hopefully Collin Kaepernick can live up to last years performance and stay at a consistent level of improving or this could be one of the biggest trade mistakes San Fran has ever done.
Anybody ever noticed that the highest drafted quarterbacks do terribly in the league, like Alex Smith, Jermarcus Russel, unfortunately, my boy Tebow, but the late drafted and undervalued quarterbacks always do great? My boy Aaron Rodgers, really should have been 1st round 1st pick but her was the 24th pick of the 1st round, as much as I hate to admit it, Collin Kaepernick was drafted 3rd round and look at his success, the same for Russell Wilson, and even Joe Montana was a 7th round pick, so was Tom Brady, and don't get me started on Bart Starr. 17th round?! We don't even HAVE 17 rounds in the NFL draft anymore. Only 7. That's ten less... and yet these guys are getting that big paycheck. *hint* *hint* that should tell you something. Just saying.
Aaron Rodgers' Valentine should do us all a solid and buy him an Alex Smith jersey.
The years of watching Steve Marriucci's coaching career go into a downward spiral after Steve Young left, and then the years of Mike Nolan and Mike Singletary having to learn the hard way that they just are not meant to be Head Coaches in the NFL, and all the terrible losses that made us go crazy where we just had no idea what the *** Jeff Garcia was thinking on a play or why the management would ever choose to draft Alex Smith over Aaron Rodgers... finally have become worth it. Literally have never been so excited for any sporting event. A win today puts the NIners 6-0 all time in the Super Bowl and would symbolize the return to greatness of one of the greatest dynasties in all of professional sports! Lets go niners!
When the Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers take the field for Super Bowl XLVII, the Lombardi Trophy won't be the only thing on the line: LEGACIES will be as well. Winning a championship has a way of changing the perception of an athlete, and for these players and these Coaching brothers, the stakes have never been higher. Frank Gore has been so underappreciated throughout his career that it's criminal. He's the leading rusher in 49ers history, but fans speak more fondly of former San Francisco backs Roger Craig, Ricky Watters and even Tom Rathman. Why? Because those players have Super Bowl rings. When you play for an organization as rife with success and championships as the 49ers, you're measured by how much you win, and to be fair, Gore's 49ers haven't been much of a winner since he was drafted in 2005. Now, is that Gore's fault? Certainly not. It wasn't Gore who decided that the immortal J.T. O'Sullivan should start in 2008. It wasn't Gore who selected Alex Smith over Aaron Rodgers in the 2005 d ...
Like most of us I’ve been reading a lot about the Niners this Super Bowl week. But, I was surprised to see no media reference at all to when the Debartolo-Yorks changed the identity of our beloved team in the 2000s from a progressive passing offense to defense and a power run team. Fashioned mostly by another “winning” franchise: you guessed it, the Baltimore Ravens. Keeping up with the Belichicks, the new century proved an opportunity for the new owners to evolve with the new defensive face of the NFL. In particular, after arguably the greatest linebacker of all time led his less than exciting team to a Super Bowl XXXV win in January, 2001. The Yorks of course poached the Ravens’ defensive coordinator Mike Nolan in 2005 as our savior, grasping for the pedigree or the coincidence that his father had decently coached the 49ers in the defensive 70s. And of course, his largest mark on the team would be drafting Alex Smith, passing over hometown favorite Aaron Rodgers because Nolan didn’t like his a ...
So Colin Kaepernick grew up a Brett Favre fan and Aaron Rodgers is quite a vocal Alex Smith fan. If that doesn't beat all...
Thanks for telling it like it is Peter king at SI .com: The fact that in 2013 only one minority coach came close to a head-coaching job (Ray Horton in Arizona) is a black eye. The fact that Lovie Smith (84 wins and a Super Bowl berth in Chicago, coming off a 10-win season) will sit out the year after being passed over this month is bad too. According to research by my SI NFL writer friend Jim Trotter, 55 teams have won 10 games or more in the last five seasons, and Smith is the only one to have been fired the year he won double-digits. (Tony Dungy retired from the Colts after the 2008 season, but it was his choice.) Smith, after getting released by the Bears, had three interviews and no offers. Worse, I think, is that candidates like Perry Fewell, Jim Caldwell and David Shaw don't get a sniff. Fewell is the Giants defensive coordinator who choreographed last year's Super Bowl-winning run over Matt Ryan, Aaron Rodgers, Alex Smith and Tom Brady and held those four foes to an average of 14 points a game. No ...
2000's Part 2: 2003 brought change to San Francisco. Steve Mariucci was let go and Dennis Erickson was brought in as Head Coach. San Fran went 7-9 but problems were were occurring. 2004 saw much change, Terrell Owens was traded, Jeff Garcia was gone. Tim Rattay was now the QB. The 49ers had the worst record in the NFL at 2-14 which enabled them the draft pick in 2005, Passing on Local hero Aaron Rodgers, San Francisco picked Heisman runner up Alex Smith. Dennis Ereickson had been fired and Mike Nolan, son of former San Fran Head Coach *** Nolan was now the head man. The niners did improve to 4-12. In 2006 the 49ers brought in Norv Turner to run thier offense and improved to a record of 7-9. The hopes were high in San Francisco.
That awkward moment when you've got 11 total NFL starts and you've... - Got more playoff wins than Matt Ryan. - Got more playoff wins than Alex Smith. - Got more NFC Championships than Tony Romo, Jay Cutler, Matthew Stafford, Michael Vick, and Cam Newton, and the same as Aaron Rodgers and Drew Brees. - And your last name sounds like a cat going through labor and vomiting at the same time. GUESS WHO?
You know what i find amussing.Everytime a team does well or there in the playoffs or superbowl. When they start comparing Qb's,Tony Romo is the first guy that pops up.Nevermind the other 30 Qb's that are also watching the playoffs,no no,just Romo.Let's see,Romo may have never been to a superbowl, however he's never lost one either.Brady's lost 2.Anyone talking about Tom Brady ummm no,just Romo.Aaron Rodgers went 15-1 last year, but bam the Giants smashed them in the first round.Anyone talking about Rodgers umm no,just Romo.So know we have a comparison of Kaepernick and of course Tony Romo.Seriously? Kaepernick rushed for 181 yards vs GB(Adrian Peterson had about 500 in the 2 games they played vs GB).Kaepernick beat the Falcons(Falcons had a 20 lead vs Seattle and should of lost then).Kaepernick walked into a team with a tremendous defense *** Alex Smith had the 49ers at 6-2 already. They can punt 15 times and still be in a game.So in the end its the Defense of the 49ers that makes the team.Give that to Romo . ...
Just for you Mike lol! It came as little surprise that Packers QB Aaron Rodgers was honored as the NFL's 2011 MVP after leading his team to a league-best 15-1 record, throwing 45 TD passes and setting a record for Passer Rating (122.5). CAPTIONBy Morry Gash, AP But his acceptance speech at the inaugural NFL Honors in Indianapolis had a priceless nugget. HONORED: Rodgers leads list of 2011 NFL award winners Rodgers, who grew up in Northern California, acknowledged childhood heroes Joe Montana, Jerry Rice and Steve Young of the 49ers before saying this with a sly grin: "Big Niners fan as a kid -- thanks for drafting me." Rodgers was a candidate to be the No. 1 pick of the 2005 draft to quarterback-needy San Francisco, but the 49ers selected Alex Smith instead. Ironically, current Packers HC Mike McCarthy served on that San Francisco coaching staff. Rodgers plummeted to 24th before Green Bay grabbed him. Rodgers' MVP award was presented by four-time winner and local hero Peyton Manning, whose future with th ...
S/O 2 my nicca Bryon Crawford AKA Neezo! 4 tellin me dat Kaep was our ans @ QB! & I was like *** no! He played QB @ Nevada n da weak *** WAC Conference! + I was still riding w/ Alex Smith b/c I thought Dey did him wrong! I guess u made up 4 dat horrible evaluation u gave me of Alex Smith a couple of yrs ago when I told u we should of drafted Aaron Rodgers!
And till this day i laugh at Mike Nolan... Back when he was the Head Coach for the 49's, this fool is the one who drafted Alex Smith instead of Aaron Rodger...
Eli Manning of all people takes Aaron Rodgers spot for pro bowl. Over Brees, Cutler, Russel Wilson, or even a one legged RGIII. Alex Smith would have been a better choice. Mark J. Konrad
1.) New Coach Andy Reid (CHECK) 2.) New OC (Pederson) New DC (Sutton) Check 3.) New GM (Jon Dorsey) The man who drafted Aaron Rodgers, BJ Raji, Clay Matthews, Jordy Nelson, Greg Jennings etc. CHECK Now lets resign our Beast of a LT Branden Albert! Either resign Dbowe or get Greg Jennings or Mike Wallace in FA. Bring in Michael Vick or Alex Smith as vet QB Draft Geno Smith with Tayvon Austin and we are ready.. Lets go CHIEFS!!
It has been an interesting time to be a Niner fan, and seeing people’s statuses/comments every game and especially on Saturday inspired me to write this. I appreciate that Alex Smith will never defeat Aaron Rodgers in the playoffs donning a Niners uniform. That would add insult to injury and be kind of cruel if you know the story. I want to tell this story about the Niners.. Walsh created a dynasty and fathered the West Coast offense. Walsh won 3 Superbowls with us before retiring and Seifert went on to win 2. We were the first NFL team to win 5 Super Bowls. No team that’s been in more than one Super Bowl has won every one. We are the 1st to 5 and 5/5. But then we made mistakes and were cursed. We ousted Mariucci (Cal) and sacked Garcia (Gilroy/SJSU) before releasing TO "Team Obliterator". Mariucci and Garcia were good and didn’t deserve that. We also passed up and slighted 2 NorCal kids. Tom Brady (Montana 2.0) and Aaron Rodgers (Young 2.0) grew up dreaming of being our quarterback. A b ...
Check. Aaron Rodgers and Alex Smith meeting mid field prior to the game. Some people worry about their kids...
49ers, Ravens win NFL playoff games Kaepernick delivers, 49ers beat Packers 45-31 San Francisco (AP) — Colin Kaepernick ran for a quarterback playoff record 181 yards and two touchdowns and threw two scoring passes to Michael Crabtree in leading the San Francisco 49ers back to the NFC Championship Game with a 45-31 victory against the Green Bay Packers on Saturday night. Playoff first-timer Kaepernick outshined reigning NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers, who never got in sync for the Packers (12-6) in finishing 26 of 39 for 257 yards with two touchdowns. Kaepernick ran for scores of 20 and 56 yards on the way to topping the rushing mark of 119 yards set by Michael Vick in 2005 against St. Louis. Crabtree caught TD passes of 12 and 20 yards in the second quarter and wound up with nine receptions and 119 yards for the Niners (12-4-1) in the NFC divisional matchup. San Francisco had 579 total yards, 323 on the ground. Kaepernick, the second-year pro out of Nevada who supplanted Alex Smith at quarterback in a much-deba ...
Aaron Rodgers arm is a freakin cannon...still can't believe that the 9ers passed on that freak robo arm in favor of Alex Smith.
49ers sorry they drafted Alex Smith instead of Aaron Rodgers now.
Aaron Rodgers and Alex smith look like they could be brothers
Doesnt Alex Smith and Aaron Rodgers look like brothers?
I wished I could have seen Alex Smith take on Aaron Rodgers. The number 1 pick takes on the supposed number 1 pick.
When Aaron Rodgers dropped to 24th in the 2005 NFL draft after Alex Smith went number 1, he was asked about his disappointment. He said "Not as disappointed as the 49ers will be that they didn't draft me". He grew up in the Bay area and was a 49ers fan watching the likes of Joe Montana and Steve Young win Super Bowls. Green Bay didn't need a QB at the time but simply couldn't pass on great talent. Today is the day Aaron Rodgers has been waiting for. GO PACK GO!
SF had first pick and took Alex Smith over hometown kid Aaron Rodgers.. They asked on Draft Day are you upset he said not as much as SF will
Remember when the 49er's almost drafted Aaron Rodgers with the first pick instead of Alex Smith. You think they kind of regret it?
I'm going to give you two options in the NFC for each game in which each team will win, and you guys will choose which one you think will happen. Ok? Ok. Packers at 49ers: 49ers win: The stingy Niners defense gives Rodgers fits and sacks him a lot. Colin Kaepernick plays solid football rushing and passing picking up first downs, playing Alex Smith-esque football (except better) until a late big play ices the win for the Niners- SF- 20, GB-10 Packers win: The Packers force at least 3 Kaepernick turnovers, followed by an entire offseason of people questioning the Kaepernick decision, while Aaron Rodgers dominates on offense- GB- 31, SF-17 Falcons vs. Seahawks: Falcons W: Matt Ryan plays good football, racking up a bunch of yards and less than 2 turnovers while the Seattle cornerbacks shout on the sidelines, effectively making the Falcons fly under the radar with their win. Russel Wilson does not have a great game- ATL- 27, SEA- 17 Seattle W: Russel Wilson continues the dominance, the Falcons fold, and Marsh ...
7 future pro bowlers were selected between Alex Smith and Aaron Rodgers in 2005. Name the one that is still with the team that drafted him. -Jon
I'm tired of this read option in the nfl. All that means is you don't have a quarterback that can throw the ball. It also means you have to rely off or play fakes and college plays to win. Look what happen to RG3. He got dominated, Joe Webb same thing. Well see with Kaepernick. (we all know it's the Niner D is what is the only thing legit). Anyway ale your pick. Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Andrew Luck( who had 5 rushing touchdowns) Eli Manning, Aaron Rodgers, Matt Ryan or RGIII, Cam Newton, Colin Kaepernick, soon to be Geno Smith, Alex Smith?
The 49ers will lose to the Packers because I love Aaron Rodgers and Alex Smith is a way better experienced QB than Colin Kaepernick!
After sleeping on it, there's still no defending Mike Shanahan. In a week, the Ravens probably won't be able to defend Peyton Manning's offense. And Colin Kaepernick and Aaron Rodgers just want to be better than ... Alex Smith?
Baltimore Ravens @ Denver Broncos Denver has won something like it's last nine games, but they haven't played a lot of good teams in that time. Both teams have a solid defense, so this will be a close one. Flacco is going to have to come out big for the Ravens to have a chance. Flacco is certainly capable of such a game, but Manning is more reliable. Plus, if the game is close going into the fourth quarter, you can bet Manning will put together a desperate drive to get the win at home. Broncos 16, Ravens 10 Green Bay Packers @ San Francisco 49ers Green Bay is going to be rolling after a big win over the Vikings, and will be hot coming into Candlestick. The 49ers defense needs to slow down Aaron Rodgers early to give their young QB time to adjust to a playoff game after a week off. If Alex Smith had been playing all year, I'd like the 49ers chances a whole lot better in this game. Still, the Packers have enough injuries that the 49ers should be in it, but I expect Rodgers to come ...
Week 1 Rematch of Green Bay Packers @ San Francisco 49ers. The Green Bay Packers will face off against the San Francisco 49ers January 12 at 8:00 ET for the NFC Division. The winner will move on to play in the NFC Championship Game. It will be a rematch between the two that faced off in week one. Aaron Rodgers led the passing game with 44 Attempts, 30 Completion for 303 Yards, and 2 Touchdowns. While Frank Gore led the running game with 16 carries for 112 yards and a touchdown, the 49ers pulled away with the victory and won 30-22 in Green Bay. This time around it will be Green Bay coming to San Francisco with their high-powered offense. Early in the season it was Alex Smith vs. Aaron Rodgers, but this time it will be Colin Kaepernick vs. Aaron Rodgers. Look for Aldon Smith, the 49ers leading sack holder to go after Rodgers. For Green Bay look for DuJuan Harris to run at Justin Smith and the right side of the offensive line. The winner of this game will be sitting happy in the NFC Championship Game and may ...
F.L.O.W..Aaron Rodgers is gonna end up going down as one of the greatest players to ever play in the NFL. The San Francisco 49ers should feel mighty stupid for taking Alex Smith instead of him back in 04'
My final word on the Cowboys: Yes, I think Tony Romo is a *** good QB. I also realize that he makes stupid mistakes. The three Int's he threw against Wash were terrible. However, I'm also a realist. I realize that we were only in a position to make the playoffs because of him. Any other QB and the Cowboys would be 4-12. If you think he should be replaced, who are you going to replace him with? Alex Smith, Carson Palmer, Mark Sanchez, etc. Should we draft someone to replace him? Geno Smith, Matt Barkley, etc. If the Cowboys cut him there would be 23 teams lined up to sign him. Again, I know he's not Aaron Rodgers but not many are. We NEED an offensive line! When he has time he's the most accurate passer in the NFL. With a healthy defense, an O-line, an offensive coordinator and decent receivers, he can win a Superbowl. That is all I have to say and the good news is that pitchers and catchers report in a month. Let's go Rangers!!!
Seven years ago, quarterbacks Alex Smith and Aaron Rodgers both were vying to be the top pick in the draft. Rodgers particularly wanted to be taken by the team that held the first overall selection, since he grew up a fan of the 49ers. But the Niners opted for Smith, sparking a slide that carried…
Remember at the beginning of the season when the 49era beat the Packers and Aaron Rodgers was supposed to wear Alex Smith's jersey? ... Good times ...
All the people saying Alex Smith is gonna get traded bc Kapernick is better from just from watching him 3 games, ya lets trade Aaron Rodgers bc he blew a 15-1 season...BAND WAGONERS
Aaron Rodgers makes 8 million this year. Alex Smith makes 7 lol
There is no QB issues in SF. This is just what Harbaugh does. He wins a few games with existing guy until he gets the one he actually wants. What he's done with Alex Smith is incredible, and smart. He knew coming into the 49ers situation, he couldn't just bring in a QB and start a new. It would be Alex Smith all over again. Enter 2nd rounder Colin Kapernick. Wow has this kid got a great seat! Not only does he not have 1st round pressure, he is replacing the guy the city gave up on after week 5 of his rookie year. 49er fans are always wanting the next Joe Montana (I'm a Bronco fan and we're always looking for the next Elway, Dolphin fans the next Marino, Bills fans the next Kelley, etc.) and they haven't gotten it. Not Jeff Garcia, Not J.T O'Sullivan, not Trent Dilfer, not Troy Smith...NOPE! Not Joe! Not even winners. In comes Alex Smith. The savior. Picked over hometown hero Aaron Rodgers. And up until the arrival of coach Harbaugh, people were looking for the next guy to take Smith's place ...
Over the last 2 seasons, only Aaron Rodgers & Matt Schaub have a better record as a starting QB than Alex Smith.
To Whom It May Concern In San Francisco - Ever heard of Matt Flynn? How about Kevin Kolb? Might want to slow your roll on Kaepernick a little bit. Having one good game doesn't make you the next Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, or even Alex Smith.
“In my NFL fantasy, i would be with Alex Smith and Aaron Rodgers at the same time. discount double check.
Alex Smith, Mike Vick and Jay Cutler with the concussions. holla at Aaron Rodgers, stop wearing cheap *** helmets. You get what you pay for.
I have Aaron Rodgers on a bye with Alex Smith and Ryan Fitzpatrick as backups who would you start
1. Atlanta Falcons (8-0)- The regular season won’t matter for the Falcons if they fall on their face again in the playoffs 2. Chicago Bears (7-1) The most dominating defensive effort since the Super season of 85. Charles Tillman is having an MVP season. 3. Houston Texans (7-1) They were sleepwalking in their win against the Bills. They will have to amp up the effort in Chicago Sunday night. 4. SF 49ers (6-2) They are the most physical team which plays great and are built to play with a lead. Alex Smith will need to continue his high level of play. 5. Green Bay Packers (6-3) They are on a roll no matter who is hurt or on the field. PSST Don’t make fun of Aaron Rodgers height……. he’s sensitive. 6. NY Giants (6-3) When they play their best they are unbeatable, but like this Sunday, teams can make Eli look pedestrian. 7. Pittsburgh Steelers (5-3) Guess who’s back?? They dominated the 4th quarter in the Meadowlands. 8. Baltimore Ravens (6-2) They survived Cleveland, it’s going to be a struggle t ...
Jets petitioning to play Chiefs because if they can make Rivers look like Aaron Rodgers they can at least make Sanchez look like Alex Smith.
Well my niners win again. Beating arizona monday night Alex Smith set an NFL single-game record for completion percentage (94.7) when throwing at least 15 pass attempts. Smith finished 18 of 19 for 232 yards and three touchdowns. whose 19 wins since the start of 2011 are tied with Aaron Rodgers for the most in the NFL. The 49ers are 42-25 all-time in Monday Night Football contests and their 42 wins trail just Dallas (43) in the program’s history. San Francisco is also 16-4 against the NFC West since the 2009 season, which is tied with New England for the most divisional wins in that span. Crabtree now has a catch in all 50 games of his NFL career, while long snapper Brian Jennings played in his 200th career game on Monday night. Jennings’ streak is second in franchise history only to Len Rohde’s mark of 208, which was set from 1960-74. David Akers extended his franchise record to 24 straight games with a made field goal on his 43-yard conversion in the second quarter. With 2.0 sacks on the day, Ald ...
Can the casual football fan tell NFL quarterbacks Aaron Rodgers and Alex Smith apart?
Watching Espn and I am about 99% sure Alex smith and Aaron Rodgers share a parent, Mr Rodgers sr apparently took a trip out of the neighborhood around 20something years ago.
Alex Smith reminds me of Aaron Rodgers...just without the skill and ability. LOL
Is it just me or does Aaron Rodgers and Alex Smith look a lot alike?
Is it just me or does Alex Smith look a lot like Aaron Rodgers?
Here's what I'm thinking... Aaron Rodgers looks A LOT like Alex Smith. Didn't Aaron Rodgers go to school in Cali??. And is good long time friends of Smith? .Same mom, she was turnin tricks. Yep, that's my thought for the day.
It's like Alex Smith is copying Aaron Rodgers right down to the 5 o clock shadow, but ya know without the skill, Lombardi Trophy and complicated play book.
To all the Cowgirls fans crying about wanting another QB take our pick; Mark Sanchez? Tim Tebow? Matt Cassel? Brady Quinn? Alex Smith? John Skelton? Ryan Tannehill? Christian Ponder? Brandon Weeden? Matt Schuab? Andy Dalton? Russell Wilson? Carson Palmer? Blaine Gabbert? The only way your getting a Cam Newton, RGIII, or Andrew Luck is if you finish a season with 1-2 wins. You don't have the coaching personal or scouting personnel to draft an Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, or Big Ben. Jerry had a chance to have Drew Brees and Sean Payton as his Head Coach and dropped the ball. So don't be mad at Romo, be mad at Jerry. The offensive line *** and so does the coach. Stop complain' because your qb situation could be a lot worse. Not many qbs can bring you back from 21 down and give you a fighting chance to win.
49ers fans just imagine if y'all drafted Aaron Rodgers.BUT u took Alex Smith overall...Rodgers went
I just gotta say it. Go Giants! Go Bears! RG3 = Legit. Eli Manning = Legitter. Seriously, let Tebow run the dang ball! Ravens are toast with no Ray Lewis. Brady Quinn is not the answer. Aaron Rodgers never left people, his defense doesn't always show up. Patriots are freakin garbage. They are folders and soft. There's no reason the Jets should be pounding anyone. At this point, Miami looks like the best team in the AFC East. The AFC will lose this Super Bowl. Whomever emerges from the NFC will be so strong and tough, that there is now way they lose. Nice win Raiders, you've still got heart. Keep fighting, that AFC West Title is still up for grabs. Never, ever, ever, bet against the Manning brothers. EVER. Cam Newton, you could learn a thing or two from them. Can anyone question the value of coaching anymore? Cowboys, all the talent in the world, garbage. Harbaugh comes in and turns a 49ers squad who had Alex Smith at QB, 2 rookies on the OL, lost their all pro nose tackle Aubrayo Franklin, had Michael Cra ...
I must be the only one that notices that Alex Smith and Aaron Rodgers look alike.
I was looking through my old football cards and found Maurice Jones-Drew, Aaron Rodgers, and Alex Smith rookies. $
It is time for the good, the bad and the ugly. The good: Aaron Rodgers threw 6 touchdowns to give Green Bay Packers 42-24 win over the Houston Texans. The bad: The New York Giants destroyed the San Francisco 49ers 26-3. Alex Smith is not an elite quarterback. The ugly: Ray Lewis and Lardarius Webb of the Baltimore Ravens are out for the season due to injuries. They can kiss their trip to the Super Bowl this year goodbye. Have a great day everybody!
Quick question. Who has the most wins as a QB since the start of the 2011 season? Is it A. Tom Brady? B. Eli Manning? C. Aaron Rodgers? D. Tony Romo(ha) E. ALEX SMITH! If you said Alex Smith you are correct with 19 wins, along with 7 4th quarter comebacks in that time. Just a thought! Go Niners!
Dr. 49er fans. Can someone please write Alex Smith and inform him he's Trent Dilfer not Aaron Rodgers. Oh and before it starts. Your D isn't as good as the Ravens was. Only your qb.
So the Seahawks have already beat, Tony Romo, Cam Newton, *Aaron Rodgers, and Tom Brady this season. Alex Smith, watcha got?
Steve Mariucci you are the dumbest NFL analyst of all time, how do you have a job? "The Seahawks have beaten Cam Newton, Tom Brady, Tony Romo, and Aaron Rodgers. Can they beat Alex Smith? I don't think so."
so you're in favor of keeping Alex Smith a guy that's been in the league the same amount of years as Aaron Rodgers and ***
its amazing how espn analysts can use hindsight to say Alex Smith cant shine Aaron Rodgers shoes and that he was a joke at also easy to say that looking at how their careers have gone alex smith looks like a bust, but if you were to flip the situation and put AR on the 49ers and Smith on the packers with each team ending up the same way other wise how does each QB's career go? Smith with McCarthy in GB with the same offense for years and sitting behind favre for a few years to master the system otherwise and aaron rodgers starting immediately on a team with no offensive weapons other than a TE and going through different coordinators and coaches on a yearly basis? yeah its amazing how bad you can make anyone look based on situation...analysts are retards
Skip is crazy if he thinks Alex Smith is up near Aaron Rodgers skill level
Aaron Rodgers threw 6 tds vs The Texans & no picks...and Alex Smith got drafted before him? Lmfao
73 yards from Demaryius Thomas will vindicate me from starting Alex Smith over Tony Romo. It will also make me 1-1 on the week. Please don't let me down, fantasy gods. I promise I will never start Andrew Luck over Aaron Rodgers again.
It seems that all you need to compete in the NFL today is a QB with a strong arm and any of the dozens of big-play receivers. The defensive backs simply cannot cover them. It's a passing league and running game and defense just doesn't matter much, as evidenced by the Giants taking advantage of Alex Smith's relatively weak arm and riding Eli's arm today. The 49ers superb run defense did not matter at all. (The Giants winning the Super Bowl last year while finishing dead last in running yards per game proves how secondary running is now. Although offense in general still mightily trumps defense.) There's so so many stud wideouts now: Jordy Nelson, Greg Jennings, Julio Jones, Roddy White, Victor Cruz, Hakeem Nicks, even Stephen Hill and Jeremy Kerley on the Jets outperform the d-backs. There are QBs who through a strong arm alone can keep their teams in games: Eli Manning and Aaron Rodgers and Andy Dalton and Matt Ryan and RGIII and Cam Newton (for all their speed, those last two have extremely strong arms) ...
Ok, we have no today seen, the normal Alex Smith, Christian Ponder, and Micheal Vick today. Please God let us see the normal Aaron Rodgers tonight. LET'S GO PACK
Robert R. Robertson, would you take Alex Smith against the NYG, or Aaron Rodgers against an undefeated Houston? Help me please you're the only one I trust with such grave questions.
We the niners picked Alex Smith over Aaron Rodgers but they picked AJ Hawk over P Willy.
I'd never thought I'd be asking this EVER...But should I start Alex Smith vs NYG, or Aaron Rodgers vs Houston
The Green Bay Packers won their first 13 games in 2011, but Aaron Rodgers and Co. have dropped three of five to start this season. They pay the consequences in Elliot Harrison's Power Rankings.
For any Alex Smith haters still out there, who may not have been convinced after being the ranked QB in the NFL last year, his first year in JH Offense, This is what I said would happen if my man ever got to run the same offense 2 years in a row: NFL QB Rankings 1 Alex Smith 108.7 2 Matt Ryan 106.1 3 Matt Schaub 105.3 4 Tom Brady 102.8 5 Peyton Manning 101.2 6 Robert Griffin III 101.0 7 Ben Roethlisberger 100.6 8 Aaron Rodgers 97.0 9 Eli Manning 96.0 10 Christian Ponder 95.5 Some other notables 13 Drew Brees 90.7 19 Matt Stafford 81.6 20 Cam Newton 80.9 23 Tony Romo 78.5
17-4 in his last 21 regular season games, 2 game winning drives in an epic post season victory, a muffed punt away from facing Tom The Great in the Super Bowl, outplaying QB's like Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers, Matthew Stafford, and arguably Eli Manning in 4 of his last 7 games, and now leading the 49ers to their franchise best single game offensive output ever... I wonder if people are ready to stop calling Alex Smith a "bust" yet...
Alex Smith's $7.5 base salary for 2013 becomes guaranteed if he's on the 49ers' roster by April 1. He's also due a $1 million roster bonus in March. Although Yahoo's Jason Cole predicts Colin Kaepernick's rocket arm and electric running ability will instigate a "serious quarterback controversy in San Francisco pretty soon," it's hard to envision the 49ers cutting ties with Smith as long as he directs the team to the playoffs. The salaries of the two QBs combined is far less than the total devoted to the position by most NFL teams. Smith's winning percentage (77) is behind only Aaron Rodgers and Matt Schaub since Jim Harbaugh took over as Head Coach.
Before you alex smith haters wanna talk about he isnt a good qb look at this espn article on him vs all the best qbs in the nfl!! enough said!! Alex Smith is 16-4 in his last 20 regular season starts and yet, people want more. Such is the case when you're a quarterback in the National Football League. But in Smith's mind, the savvy quarterback's recent production under coach Jim Harbaugh and offensive coordinator Greg Roman all relates to the comfort level of working with the same talented coaches for consecutive seasons. "I'm really enjoying where I'm at right now," Smith, the eighth-year veteran said. "I love my teammates, love the entire organization, love going out and doing what I do." Smith added that he appreciates how Harbaugh's always mixing things up, making things fun for the guys inside the locker room. "He constantly surprises me, for sure," Smith added. "The great thing, I think, is he just keeps it about football and that makes coming to work fun." Under that environment, Smith has thrived ...
Alex Smith is not Aaron Rodgers, he's not Tom Brady, he's not Peyton Manning, he's not Michael Vick. He's Alex Smith. We don't run the run and shoot offense, we don't run the pro set. We don't run the spread. We run the West Coast offense. Peoples expectations are high. They ask why we got Manningham and Moss when we don't use them much. The answer is simpler than you think. And it goes back to the Championship Game. We had 0 receiver production aside from Vernon Davis going against an average secondary. Ted Ginn was out. Could we have used a Manningham or an Moss in that game? *** yeah. Did we have them? No. The best weapon is the one you don't use often. Against a jets team weak against the run we jammed it down their throats. If it wasn't Kaepernick it would've been a healthy Brandon Jacobs. We were like the 99 Ravens. Run the ball, play good defense, shut em down. The moral is that we are forgetting that we want to win no matter what it takes. No matter the qb. No matter the coach. No matter the sche ...
Alex Smith should've never been drafted before Aaron Rodgers
Fantasy Football Question, Aaron Rodgers against the Saints or Alex Smith against the Jets?
Rex Ryan now admits he mistook Alex Smith for Aaron Rodgers at this year's NFL awards. Didn't know Smith and Rodgers had the same shoe size.
A lot of people say the NFL is a qurterback league. The combined record for Drew Brees, Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Ben Roethlisberger, Cam Newton, RG III, Matthew Stafford, Andrew Luck, and Peyton Manning is 8-19. The combined record of Kevin Kolb, Matt Schaub, Russell Wilson, Christian Ponder, Mark Sanchez, Joe Flacco, Andy Dalton, Alex Smith, and Ryan Fitzpatrick is 20-7. I'm not so sure it is a qb league any more.
What am i supposed to do with 4 very good Qbs??. Matt Ryan, Alex Smith, Andrew Luck, and Aaron Rodgers?... .
Message to Aaron Rodgers. this is what you get for not paying the Alex Smith Jersey Bet :)
Listening to Aaron Rodgers cry lol you see what happens when you don't keep your word. Just wear the Alex smith jersey dude lol
We live in a weird world: 1) Aaron Rodgers got less points for my fantasy league than Alex Smith 2) I'm sad that I can't go to the gym today because I'm sick and need to rest...aw
What a weird year, The Patriots for the first time in 146 games have a losing record, The Saints have yet to win a game, The Cardinals are UNDEFEATED??? Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, and Aaron Rodgers' stats are similar to Christian Ponder and Alex Smith. Tim Tebow has more return yards on kick offs than passing yards. And yes, we have old guys that have never watched football in their life refing and changing the outcome of the game! Good job Roger Godell!
Aaron Rodgers should have lived up to his Alex Smith jersey bet... The karma gods have spoken. All joking aside, what were those refs thinking?!
Seriously I should be starting Alex Smith over Aaron Rodgers as QB next week? ***
I guess Aaron Rodgers is feeling like Alex Smith now when you don't have any pass protection, you can't pass the ball,LOL!
Aaron Rodgers, I know you aren't quite the quarterback Alex Smith is, but if you could please score 31 fantasy points for me that would be greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Angel
Aaron Rodgers for Marshawn Lynch and AJ Green? I have Rivers as a backup and am considering Alex Smith off the waiver wire.
And once again I hear about the almighty Cam Newton cry because he got benched. Well dude...your still immature and think your the best when in fact your not dude. Go take some tips from QB's who actually know how to lead a team i.e.(Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees, Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Matt Ryan, Eli Manning, Joe Flaco, Matt Schaub, Alex Smith and Ben Roethlisberger). No offence dude, but you need to stay on the bench until you mature and stop whining. This is football...its a grown mans sport and theres no room for babies.
Monday football point No. 3: Kevin Kolb, Christian Ponder, Andy Dalton, RGIII and Alex Smith are all in the top 10 in Passer Rating. Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Tony Romo and Philip Rivers are not.
Okay... The Alex Smith/Aaron Rodgers switch was a horrible move... in hind sight there may have been a slight miscalculation. It is clear that mistakes were made, and I place the blame for this debacle squarely where it belongs... Alex Smith. And to add insult to injury, or actually to add injury to insult, Buffalos C.J. Spiller, my highest scorer last week gets taken out with a shoulder injury. I'm holding a slight lead after the first game but it's looking grim...
Um, what? Alex Smith is quoted as saying about his rivalry with Aaron Rodgers, "Aaron may have gotten his Super Bowl Trophy first, but I will get mine second." *** !?!
prob Peyton Manning, Aaron Rodgers,or Alex Smith. Im really stuck who do I start? Im counting on you to be "The Best in the World"
Wait so Alex Smith and Aaron Rodgers aren't the exact same person..?
My 49ers are the top-rated team in the NFL! Quarterback Alex Smith is one of the main reasons... What you may not know: Alex Smith has defeated Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers and Matthew Stafford in three of his past four games. He was a Kyle Williams fumble away from potentially adding Eli Manning to that list. Smith has gone 216 straight passes without a pick, a franchise record in San Francisco. You might recall that Joe Montana and Steve Young played for the Niners. GO 9ERS
It's no secret the San Francisco 49ers have a dominant defense. But don't you dare discredit Alex Smith, warns Adam Schein, who lauds the quarterback and picks three upsets for Week 3.
49ers-Vikings Preview By ALAN FERGUSON (STATS Writer) | The Associated Press – 1 hour 54 minutes ago The San Francisco 49ers are nearing their best start in 14 seasons partly because their defense did enough to keep a pair of the NFL's top quarterbacks from beating them. Their own signal-caller has done a pretty nice job as well. Alex Smith and the unbeaten 49ers visit the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday in a game that will also feature Randy Moss' return to the city where he became a star. San Francisco (2-0) is in position to win its first three games for the first time since 1998 after getting past Green Bay's Aaron Rodgers and Detroit's Matthew Stafford in the last two weeks. The 49ers held those offenses more than 23 points and 210 yards below their combined averages from last season, when both ranked among the league's top five - as did their quarterbacks in most categories. The Niners limited Stafford, a 5,038-yard passer in 2011, to 19 of 32 for 230 yards in a 27-19 victory last Sunday. Dashon Golds ...
Mike Tirico singing the praises of Mike Nolan has he forgotten that Nolan's the *** who took Alex Smith over Aaron Rodgers
d someone at ESPN flip the QB ratings board upside down? Alex Smith, Sam Bradford, (Rookie) RGIII, & Christian Ponder are all in the TOP 7. Drew Brees & Matt Stafford are in the BOTTOM 7, Aaron Rodgers is bottom-half, and Tom Brady is ranked BELOW Mark Sanchez and Kevin Kolb...
Man, the chiefs have got to get a REAL QB.don't know what that is in KC? Look @ Sam Bradford, RGIII, Cam Newton, Peyton Manning, Eli Manning, Tom Brady, Alex Smith, Aaron Rodgers, Matthew Standford, Matt Ryan, Luck, heck Russell Wilson.can KC invest in a QB that can do any of the things these guys do? It would really make a difference. They probably should call Kyle Orton and appologize and beg him back, because he's the difference between the team that beat Green Bay and the team getting their asprin beat these last couple of weeks. IJS
Aaron Rodgers did not acknowledge that Alex Smith had a great game. Alex Smith outplayed A-Rod in the game.
Aaron Rodgers you better put that Alex Smith jersey up !
Coming up: A's & Giants both winners..Aaron Rodgers talks about wearing an Alex Smith jersey, Raiders make a move & what up with Lane Kiffin
Aaron Rodgers are sore loser and is not a man of his word. He didnt wear Alex Smith jersey. Lost respect for him
"I doubt that one Alex Smith yee niners ;)"u know Aaron Rodgers is better bro!
Answer to this week's "City Trivia." A. On September 11, 2003, Cal played Utah in Salt Lake City and Cal sophomore, Aaron Rodgers was inserted into the game to battle Utah QB, Alex Smith. Urban Meyer and the Utes beat Cal 31-24. Smith beat Rodgers again Sunday, 30-22.
"never thought i'd say this, but Alex Smith outplayed Aaron Rodgers, there is no problem with the Packers, but they simply got best by a better team." ~Jim Rome
No truth to the rumor that Aaron Rodgers is planning on wearing an Alex Smith jersey underneath his regular one tomorrow so that he feels like a better quarterback.
Aaron Rodgers Loses More Than A Game Posted on Monday, September 10th, 2012 at 8:33 pm.Written by Giovanni Galindo Who knew Aaron Rodgers had a crazy side? The Packers superstar QB was stifled by the stingy 49ers defense on Sunday, but his problems have only begun. A story by TMZ revealed that ...
Ever wanted to know some secrets of the NFL Aaron Rodgers, Ray Lewis, Alex Smith & more take you behind the scenes.
Aaron Rodgers doesn’t seem to understand the way bets work — because even though he LOST a wager to Boyz II Men … he’s now trying to weasel his way out of paying up … by throwing TMZ under the bus.
Before the Green Bay Packers and San Francisco 49ers faced each other at Lambeau Field last Sunday, Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers made a little wager with the group Boyz II Men. Rodgers wanted the Boyz to sing the National Anthem … Continue reading →
Still waiting to see the pictures of Aaron Rodgers in a Alex Smith Jersey
Aaron Rodgers lost a bet to Boyz II Men. Now he has to pay up by wearing an Alex Smith jersey. The "On Bended Knee" singers are giving the Green Bay Packers quarterback time to settle up, though.
Jon's 5 Overreaction reviews of week 1: 1.) Robert Griffin III will never lose a NFL game. 2.) The Jets will have the best offense this year. 3.) The Bengals will never get a 3 & out. 4.) Alex Smith is better than Aaron Rodgers. 5.) Brandon Weeden is over the hill as a rookie.
We provide an update on the reported wager between Aaron Rodgers and Boyz II Men, featuring Rodgers in an Alex Smith jersey.
Aaron Rodgers better hold on that bet with Boys 2 men! I would love to see him wearing an Alex Smith jersey. I WILL post a picture of THAT!!!
Aaron Rodgers to wear an Alex Smith jersey to fulfill bet
can't wait to see that pic of Aaron Rodgers in a Alex Smith jersey LOL
Aaron Rodgers somewhere wearing an Alex Smith jersey
The last 3 quarterbacks the niners have faced have been Drew Brees, Eli Manning and Aaron Rodgers. Alex Smith out played two of them.
Aaron Rodgers to wear an Alex Smith jersey and more on Joe Staley’s nose
I heard that Aaron Rodgers has to wear a Alex Smith jersey all week. I'd love to see that.
So Alex Smith outplayed Aaron Rodgers, yet Rodgers is MVP,and Smith is a "Game Manager"?Time to ditch the label because we are LEGIT!
Best line I heard today..."Now the 49ers proved they took the better QB in Alex Smith over Aaron Rodgers." I think it takes more than one regular season game ;-)
So, Jeff Gordon made the chase and swore he would grow the mustache out and Aaron Rodgers guaranteed victory or he would wear an Alex Smith jersey all week..this should be interesting!
a note for Alex Smith... for the past 8 years 49er fans (myself included) have lamented that we COULD have had Aaron Rodgers, but instead we got "stuck with" Alex Smith. I think yesterday's game was a good testament to what a man can do if he never gives up, even when the fans have given up on him. You may never be among "the greats" of QBs, but I appreciate you Smith, I'm glad you're here, and I'm sorry for hating all those years... here's to the coming year :D
I don't mind friendly trash talking, don't get me wrong. But if there is one thing that irritates the *** out of me, it's an arrogant Chicago Bears fan who acts like their team is heaven sent with divine intervention from God. Like I said, I don't mind taking little shots at each other here and there but when you start saying ignorant things about how Aaron Rodgers *** or is "overrated" because we lost to the 49ers when in fact he still out performed Alex Smith. Like really...You're just asking to get verbally back handed and possibly physically back handed if you're really bad. Just saying. And with that said. Can't wait for Thursday! GO PACK GO!!!
Ok football fans, week one is almost over. How did you think your teams looked? Is RG3 really the next Elway? Is Andrew Luck the next Peyton Manning? Can Cam Newton do it again? Is Alex Smith FINALLY the guy the 9ers drafted over Aaron Rodgers? Are the Arizona Cardinals leading the race to get Matt Barkley? I want to talk football with somebody. As much as I love my life partner, wife and bandmate Cynthia Dawn, she isn't much fun when it comes to sports...or metal conversations either...
The 49ers' pass rush had Aaron Rodgers scrambling all afternoon as Alex Smith notched his first victory over his Draft Day rival.
And we're off to a great start!! Go bois!! Aaron Rodgers of the Packers has to wear an Alex Smith Jersey all week during practice for losing his bet with Boyz 2 Men!!
You gotta love bets during Football season. After yesterdays extremely satisfying defeat at the hands of my 49ERS, Aaron Rodgers has to sport an Alex Smith Jesey for a week. LMFAO! Someone please get a picture of that!
I read this on the 49ers website and found it very funny. Doug Farrar of Yahoo! Sports tells us why Aaron Rodgers is expected to wear an Alex Smith jersey this week. Farrar: “Nathan Morris of Boyz II Men laid a bet on the table. If the Packers lost the game, Morris proposed, Rodgers would have to wear a 49ers jersey through this entire week. Morris would have had to wear a Packers jersey through this week had Green Bay won, but he’s not a professional football player — he doesn’t have to go to team meetings and film room and all other game-prep functions wearing the colors of the opposing team.”
Aaron Rodgers was just spotted wearing an Alex Smith jersey
I propose a shift in the Alex Smith / Aaron Rodgers sage based upon the 49ers victory over the Packers.
The first thing I would do if I was 6'-6" 275 lbs is give Clay Matthews a haircut! Go Niners!! Oh, second thing would be to make Aaron Rodgers scrub Alex Smith's jock ...
Frank Gore rushed for 112 yards and a touchdown, Alex Smith threw for a pair of scores and San Francisco's defense bottled up Aaron Rodgers and the host Packers for most of the game to win a matchup of expected NFC powers. tchup of expected NFC powers.
Observations From Every Game Played This First NFL Sunday of the Year: 1. Alex Smith outplayed Aaron Rodgers. 2. Cutler/Marshall look a lot like they did in Denver. 3. Peyton Manning looks a lot like...well...Peyton Manning. 4. The Browns aren't that bad or the Eagles are, once again, overhyped. YOU CHOOSE! 5. The Rams wanted to lose even more than Stafford did...Result: Lions Win! 6. The Pats may have found a running game = SCARY! 7. Sanchez looked like a Starting QB; Tebow looked like a poor man's Brad Smith. 8. Cam Newton is on his own. 9. M. Ryan is ready to blow up 10. C. Ponder didn't lose it for the Vikings...Allowing Blair Walsh to win it for them... 11. The Dolphins have 2 backup QBs and 0 Starters. 12. RG3 looks legit 13. With Skelton injured it's Kolb's job to lose..which he probably will...it was only SEA
Well well well we just beat the so called best team in the Nfl. Alex Smith has now gone toe to toe with Drew Brees and Aaron Rodgers and beat BOTH of them. Keep sleeping on him. Picking up where we left off last year and the Lions are next. GO NINERS! oh and RGIII looked alot better than Luck today.
Ok, Alex Smith has beaten...Drew Brees, went toe 2 tow with Eli Manning, and beat Aaron Rodgers! Does Alex Smith still suck?! Hm??
So after much thought over the last two years i have decided on officially apologizing to Mr. Smith on saying he was going to be a first round bust.So here goes. Aldon Smith I apologize to you about you being a first round bust I was wrong.Alex Smith you choke on third down and I still say after all these years we should have drafted Aaron Rodgers the QB I really wanted.
Some thoughts after watching the NFL all day: 1) Good for you Mark Sanchez. You shouldn't have to defend your career to Skip Bayless or the Tebow followers, Remember YOU won four road playoff games not Timmah. 2) If you're the Eagles can you feel good about that win? 3) If you were not impressed with what Robert Griffin III did today you are either a liar or a judge on the X-Factor. Good stuff. Kid walked into a hornets nest & played like a vet. 4) The Saints. Maybe Head Coaches are more important than we thought 5) Much respect to the 49ers, but at some point don't you have to let Alex Smith throw on first down? 6) As for the Packers still can't run or stop anybody. Too reliant on Aaron Rodgers and staring at 0-2 with the Bears coming to town 7) Last the replacement refs weren't a factor, not yet anyway.
As a life long 49ers fan Alex Smith did not outplay Aaron Rodgers (Go Bears!)...Rodney Harrison and Tony Dungy. Aaron Rodgers doesn't catch the ball too. Again too many dropped passes, non-calls.
Alex Smith outplayed Aaron Rodgers, RG-III was better than Drew Brees and Mark Sanchez (for now) silenced the critics. Just a normal Sunday.
Tony Romo outplayed Eli Manning, Robert Griffin outplayed Drew Brees, and Alex Smith outplayed Aaron Rodgers. At this pace the Cubs might win the.wait let's not get carried away.
Lmfao RG III beat Drew Brees... Alex Smith is about to beat Aaron Rodgers... Cam is losing to Josh Freeman? Yeah !
Alex Smith is out dueling Aaron Rodgers lol who would have thought? did the niners make the correct pick on that Draft Day 8 years ago?
This is a good game. Aaron Rodgers. Randy Moss. Alex Smith. Terrell Brown.
Aaron Rodgers, Alex Smith, Cedric Benson, Jordy Nelson, and Jermichael Finley in one game... Bout to rack up them points
Aaron Rodgers says he will wear an Alex Smith 49ers Jersey for a week if they lose today per bet with Boys II Men. Lucky for us, we like cheese. Beat the Pack in lambeau! Go niners!
Packers vs 49ers. I think this is going to be an awesome game. both great offenses. But I think it will come down to whether or not the Packers can pressure Alex Smith and stop Frank Gore from powering down the field. I think Aaron Rodgers will stay away from the linebackers, a few of the best last season, I think he will work the corners a lot so i expect Greg Jennings and Jordy Nelson to have a good game and Randall Cobb will get a few catches as well. so let's go Packers defense!!
I'm ready to see Aaron Rodgers wear an Alex Smith jersey.
Apparently Aaron Rodgers and Alex Smith have a wager on Today's game that the loser has to wear the other's jersey the rest of the week...it will be the best Rodgers has ever looked.
hopefully this will be the last time we see Aaron Rodgers in 49ers gear... “Nathan Morris (of Boys II Men) … proposed a friendly bet to the QB — if SF wins, Rodgers MUST WEAR an Alex Smith 49ers jersey for the remainder of the week. If GB wins, Morris has agreed to wear a Rodgers jersey. A rep for the band confirms.”
I briefly examine the connection between Alex Smith and Aaron Rodgers.
Here's a story about Aaron Rodgers, the guys from Boyz II Men, and an Alex Smith jersey.
Week 1 prediction San Francisco at Green Bay: This can pretty much be the NFC Championship played in September. The 49ers beefed up in the off season with RB Brandon Jacobs and WR's Mario Manningham and the rejuvenated Randy Moss but the difference in this meeting is gonna be Alex Smith vs Aaron Rodgers need I say more. San Francisco 24 Green Bay 31.
I'm ready to see the Pack give the Niners a butt kicking on Sunday. Anybody else with me? Mike McCarthy is probably happy now that the Niners drafted Alex Lewis as the overall pick instead of Aaron Rodgers. Afterall. Rodgers has a Super Bowl trophy and a regular season MVP to his name. What has Alex Smith done?
In the 2005 NFL draft, Alex Smith went first overall to the 49ers, while Aaron Rodgers took a tumble to the 24th overall pick, where the Packers finally grabbed him. As it turned out, Rodgers has become a much better quarterback than Smith, but Rodgers takes exception to the suggestion that Smith is...
Comparing Aaron Rodgers to Alex Smith is like comparing a Ferarri to a Ford Pinto. Haven't we rehashed this to death? *head desk*
Alex Smith is nt Aaron Rodgers i do agree they have the best group of talent individually put 2ghether bt i dnt think smith wil ...
I wonder how 49ers front office and fans feel when they could have had Aaron Rodgers but yet they select Alex Smith?
Does anyone else get Aaron Rodgers and Alex Smith confused when watching interviews?
I'll take my man Aaron Rodgers every day of the week! Especially against Alex Smith
is saying some nonsense by taking Alex Smith over Aaron Rodgers as his fantasy quarterback...
Alex Smith / 49ers blog Alex Smith to duel Aaron Rodgers (in golf) later this month
Drafting Alex Smith over Aaron Rodgers should've been the last straw ;)
Just finished watching the NFL.com top PLayers of 2011. Think the Niner wouldn have taken Aaron Rodgers in hindsight. Alex Smith career year: 17 TDs, 5 Int. Rodgers, 45 TDs 6 Ints and he didn't play week 17
Alex Smith does kinda look like Aaron Rodgers lmao
KNBR (SF sports radio) is talking about how Cain's perfect game is a sign that Alex Smith will be better than Aaron Rodgers this year.
The 49ers picked Alex Smith over Aaron Rodgers. The Portland Trail Blazers picked Greg Oden over Kevin Durant. for my boy
Everyone's gonna have ideas what getting cute means. Mike Nolan picking Alex Smith over Aaron Rodgers because of attitude is getting cute.
So was Deion Sanders. And the reason Mike Nolan passed on Aaron Rodgers for Alex Smith? Attitude/character.
I didnt know Aaron Rodgers was a 49er fan n wanted to get drafted to the 9ers on a first round pick. Instead the 49ers drafted Alex Smith over Aaron Rodgers on that same 1st round pick. Espn NFL Live...
I hope most watched ESPN E:60 about Aaron Rodgers. This is a great story about him. Now for those who says he's overrated, he fell into a great situation, or he ain't all that should see why he is good the way he is today cuz I have heard some negative things about him. This man got rejected by so many colleges and never gotting a chance until Cal and won Super Bowl and MVP in the NFL! Funny thing is he was a big 49ers fan! Alex Smith was great at Utah but he ain't no Aaron Rodgers! If Rodgers was with the 49ers this past year, 49ers would have won a Super Bowl and probably would have been a dynasty! No one never said he was greater then Tom Brady, Joe Montana, Peyton Manning, or a Bret Farve! That will take years for that to happen! This man is 28 years old and still havea long way to go to win and make Pack fans proud and love him even more! Well Thank you 49ers and all other teams who didn't give him a chance and passsed him up! In factPackers still a favorite to win it all in 2013 CUZ OF AARON RODGERS ...
For some reason I just found out my beloved 49ers could have drafted home town kid Aaron Rodgers but instead took Alex Smith...this makes me an angry little elf, now I know what Ryan Altobelli feels like all day long.
Just realized that Aaron Rodgers got passed up by SF for Alex smith. If SF would of picked him up they win the Super Bowl last year
This guy just said that Alex Smith is a better running quarterback than Aaron Rodgers.
Tony Romo was number 91 on the the top 100 players of 2012. There are 11 Qbs better than him and somehow no one the nfl network could figure it out..here is my list. It wasn't that hard. especially because 9 of them ACTUALLY made the playoffs LOL 1. Tom Brady 6.Matt Ryan 2. Aaron Rodgers 7.Joe Flacco 3. Drew Brees 8.Ben Roethlisberger 4. Eli Manning 9.Alex Smith 5. Matthew Stafford 10. Cam Newton 11. Michael Vick
Aaron Rodgers, Alex Smith and Steve Blake are related. I'm convinced.
Imagine if the 9ers didn't draft Alex smith over Aaron Rodgers
Week 1 of the NFL season Alex Smith smacks Aaron Rodgers and makes him call him daddy isnt that right
Will make for a much more even game overall, I think. Get ready for the Alex Smith/Aaron Rodgers pre-game talk!
OMG the first game is against the PACKERS! I love it. I love Aaron Rodgers AND Alex Smith. This is gonna be funnn!
Alex Smith vs. Aaron Rodgers to open the season. I can dig it. GO
Lots of Games of the Week in wk 1. First matchup ever of the top-drafted '05 QBs: Alex Smith at Aaron Rodgers, FOX national game, 3:15 CT.
Aaron Rodgers, Alex Smith and Steve Blake are all related.
Jose Romero: I think Alex Smith is better that Aaron Rodgers
Just as everyone expected: Alex Smith would lead his team further in this season's playoffs than Aaron Rodgers.
