As I was just asked about Newcastle Uniteds current situation, I thought I'd share my thoughts on this. Alan Pardew;- I think with the right players he is a more than capable manager. He proved that in 2011/2012 finishing 5th. I think Newcastle, given the troubles at the club at through moment could be worse off without Alan Pardew. Players they need to sign;- Its been evident since January how big Yohan Cabaye was to them. I think they need an experienced midfielder who can encore the middle of the park. Someone like Michael Essien would be great I think. Surely will cost next to nothing, and will provide great stabilty. I also think they need a playmaker, who is consistent and somewhat proven in the premierleague. They need instant success so taking someone from abroad could be a risk. A playmaker in England, who is cheap and reliable;- Jonjo Shelvey maybe? Or Michu? Someone who appears to be able to play with anyone. Finally, I think a striker would be key to Newcastle maintaining some sort of success. ...
'Newcastle boss Alan Pardew cites Yohan Cabaye as an example of players who aren't always in a better place after United'
Remember when Alan Pardew told Yohan Cabaye that the grass isn't always greener?
NEWCASTLE LATEST 9/1 Newcastle are 9/1 with Paddy Power to score first but lose to Man Utd Bastian Schweinsteiger's clinical finish nine minutes later ensured the Bavarian giants secured a 1-1 draw, but a spirited display from United - who had been widely tipped to be beaten comfortably - gave manager David Moyes heart. Moyes vowed to go "toe-to-toe" with the Bundesliga champions in the second leg at the Allianz Arena next Wednesday, but he must first turn his attention to Saturday's Premier League trip to St James' Park. United suffered a 1-0 defeat against Alan Pardew's side at Old Trafford back in December to pile more pressure on Moyes, after his former club Everton had consigned them to another home loss three days earlier. But the Premier League champions will be up against a very different Newcastle side to the one that gave the north-east club their first win at United since 1972. Match-winner Yohan Cabaye moved on to Paris Saint-Germain in the January Transfer Window, while Pardew this week bemo ...

We will try to advise him to not leave for anywhere. Is Newcastle not a good destination? Don't make me laugh. In England you have to go to ...
Newcastle say 'player trading' helped increase profits to £9.9m Newcastle said "player trading" was one reason for a 600% increase in profits after tax in the year to June 2013. The club says it made £9.9m profits after tax that year, up from £1.4m in 2011/12. It says £28.7m spent on six senior players in 2012-13 was countered by profits from selling the likes of Leon Best, Fraser Forster and Demba Ba. It added it had made "positive progress in line with Uefa's stringent financial fair play regulations". Some supporters have criticised the club's failure to make any permanent senior signings since June 2013. Strikers Luuk de Jong and Loic Remy on loan from Borussia Monchengladbach and QPR respectively, have been the only additions to manager Alan Pardew's first-team squad in that time, with France international Yohan Cabaye sold to Paris St-Germain for £19m in January. Newcastle United vs Aston Villa : Match Preview, Lineups and Prediction on February 23, 2014 Newcastle United vs Aston Villa 23 Feb., 1330 GMT Venue: St. James’ Park Ninth placed Newcastle United host Aston Villa who are currently placed at the twelfth spot at the St. James’ Park on Sunday. Following the transfer of mid-fielder Yohan Cabaye to PSG, Newcastle United have failed to win a single match – losing all three last matches and when they host Aston Villa on Sunday, they will be in the quest to turn their fortunes around. Similarly, the Villians too haven’t had an impressive form as they have registered only a win in their last six games ( 1 W, 3 L, 2 D). However, Aston Villa who impress in the away games more often, won’t leave a single chance to bag all the three points against the out-of-form hosts. For the Toons, Loic Remy returns from suspension and this will certainly be a huge boost for Alan Pardew as they have failed to score in the past four matches. Similarly, Cheick Tiote and Co ...

According to numerous newspapers and Sky Sports news,Alan Pardew is on the verge of being sacked by the club. Chelsea's interest in Rooney has been dealt a blow as he chose to extend his contract with the Red Devils in a deal worth £30/wk. Mou continues his war of words with Wenger by saying he didnt respect his achievements at the emirates since he has been in-charge. Newcastle coach Alan Pardew under pressure to deliver as the club continues to struggle after the departure of Yohan Cabaye.
Alan Pardew issued his players with an angry warning that the season is far from over following the abject 4-0 home defeat against Tottenham last night. Pardew’s odds to be sacked were slashed last night to 10/1 with Chris Hughton and Rene Meulensteen ahead of him. And after the painful loss to Spurs, when asked about whether his players were listening to him, he snapped: “They had better get the message because they are going to get it loud and clear this week.” Pardew has also demanded that his players arrived at training at 9.45am this morning. They haven’t won or scored since Yohan Cabaye was sold or tasted that winning feeling since a sunshine break in the UAE. However, Pardew’s tan is fading fast from that trip. He said: “We are in at 9.45am tomorrow.” That was Pardew’s 150th game as Toon boss last night. His win ratio has dropped down to 38% after last night’s defeat by Spurs. He said: “I don’t to stand there in my 150th game and watch a performance like that. “I don’t car ...
“There will be a couple of changes in the summer that will be significant, and we need to make sure that we come out of it very very strong.” This is a quote from Alan Pardew in his pre-derby press conference, which has prettymuch gone under the radar. The gaffer was discussing the loss of Yohan Cabaye and how the team must recover. The question is – what “significant changes” is Pardew talking about? Is he referring to some of the new signings the club is targeting to replace Cabaye in the summer (which may see a change in the style of play)? Is it about Joe Kinnear and re-assessing the club’s recruitment policy, which then begs the question whether the plan initially was to look at Kinnear’s position in the summer? Is it something to do with Ashley and his plans for the Toon? The quote also tells me that Pardew has been given an assurance that he’s here for the long-term, much to the frustration of those who have been calling for his head in a season where we’ve beaten Chelsea and Manc ...
Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew refused to answer questions on the controversial sale of Yohan Cabaye, after NUFC's defeat to Sunderland
Pardew's golden chance Newcastle manager Alan Pardew feared he would not get to the end of January with Yohan Cabaye still among his ranks, and so it proved, with the 19 million pound deal that took the France midfielder to Paris Saint-Germain representing good business for a 28-year-old midfielder who made it clear he wanted to leave Tyneside. Replacing Cabaye is a task that now falls to Pardew, with his belief that the players he has in his ranks can plug the void left by the star of his midfield set to be put to the test in the most fevered atmosphere imaginable. Sunderland come to St James’ Park on Saturday, and you need to spend a few days in the sporting goldfish bowl that is the North East to appreciate just what this fixture means to a region that will come to a standstill for the biannual domestic dustup. Don’t tell the Tyne-Wear natives that the rest of the world will merely be looking in as casual observers, as when you are involved emotionally in the story, this is the fixture that defines ...

Why on earth is Alan Pardew leaving Yohan Cabaye out the squad
United manager Alan Pardew casts doubt over the future of Yohan Cabaye by admitting he is "not confident" the Frenchman will be at the club when the Transfer Window closes on Friday. The Magpies have already rejected a £14m bid from Paris St-Germain for Cabaye's signature. Asked in a news conference if he was confident of keeping the 28-year-old at the club, Pardew says: "No, I'm not confident. "I don't think any team not in a Champions League position or fighting for a Champions League spot could be."
PSG AGREE TO GO TO £23M FOR NEWCASTLE MIDFIELDER CABAYE, PSG have agreed to meet Newcastle United's asking price for Yohan Cabaye . The Daily Mail says Toon have accepted a £23million bid from PSG for France midfielder Cabaye. PSG initially offered £14m, which was rejected. However, a delegation from the Ligue 1 giants were in the North East with an increased offer that owner Mike Ashley couldn’t turn down. Newcastle manager Alan Pardew said: "The timing is very unfortunate. It was the same at the start of the season. The biggest concern for me is losing the player and the second biggest concern is that I have the derby on Saturday."
According to RMC, PSG Sporting Director Olivier Letang submitted a €19m bid offer for Newcastle central midfielder Yohan Cabaye today after we confirmed he had arrived in England for talks. Newcastle are understood to be set to reject the offer and negotiations are at an intense phase. Letang will resume negotiations with Newcastle tomorrow and will not leave England until negotiations are over Get French Football News understands. RMC believe that Alan Pardew may be forced to withdraw Yohan Cabaye from the Newcastle squad for their match vs Norwich shortly if negotiations advance as much as they have done so today.

Alan Pardew says he can't promise Yohan Cabaye will be a Newcastle player after the deadline on Friday, so basically Cabaye is going to either P$G or Manchester United ? Why could we for once not keep a hold of a decent player, we've got Sunderland on the weekend and that's going to put us in a good state of mind for it isn't it with them signing players like it's nee ones business. My prediction is at least 0-3 again.

Arsenal looking to capture two of Newcastle United’s best players this January as Yohan Cabaye and Davide Santon are on the verge of joining the league leaders according to reports in France from BFMTV. Arsenal were strongly linked with Cabaye in the summer and had at least one bid rejected, with Alan Pardew left unimpressed by our supposed £10m opening offer. The Frenchman was keen to make the move to north London and refused to take part in the Geordies clash with West Ham following our bid, and at one point a move looked likely. However, Arsenal refused to improve upon their offer and eventually opted to sign Mathieu Flamini on a free transfer, while Cabaye ended up staying at St James’ Park where he’s been in outstanding form so far this season. It seems Arsene Wenger has retained his interest, with French media outlet RMC Sport reporting that we will go back in for the midfielder as part of a £30m double swoop that will also include a move for full-back Santon. RMC Sport suggest that Santon i ...
VIP SINGLE WIN Newcastle - Manchester City 2 (1.70) With two consecutive Premier League losses, Newcastle have slipped down the table and are currently 8th with 33 points from 10 wins and three draws. They have also suffered a 1-2 loss in a FA Cup tie against Cardiff, which means the Magpies could lose four games in a row for the first time in just over a year. Alan Pardew has lost Fabricio Coloccini for the next few weeks and Mathieu Debuchy, who is serving a three-match ban, while Tim Krul is expected to return in goal and midfielder Yohan Cabaye looks to have overcome a recent injury. Newcastle are without a Premier League goal in 190 minutes since Papiss Cisse's 80th-minute penalty in the 5-1 win over Stoke. Scoring goals hasn't been a problem for Manchester City though, as six goals against West Ham on Wednesday took the City total to 92 from 31 games played this season. Manuel Pellegrini's side sits in 3rd place on the table, just two points shy of league-leaders Chelsea who have collected 46 points ...
Yohan Cabaye could leave Newcastle United for as little as £6million in the summer, if he buys out his contract. Newcastle boss Alan Pardew is not worrying about the situation of a player who was the subject of a failed £10million bid from Arsenal during the last Transfer Window.
Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has named a strong side for the Magpies' FA Cup third round tie against Cardiff at St. James' Park (3pm kick-off). There are seven changes from New Year's Day's defeat at West Brom, but it still includes seven full internationals from the off. Four of those changes are enforced, with Mathieu Debuchy suspended and Yohan Cabaye, Tim Krul and Fabricio Coloccini all injured, while Mike Williamson, Loic Remy and Shola Ameobi also drop out. Coming in are Rob Elliot, Steven Taylor, Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, Massadio Haidara, Vurnon Anita, Hatem Ben Arfa and Papiss Cisse. United will line up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with Elliot protected by a back four of Davide Santon, Taylor, Yanga-Mbiwa and Haidara. Captain-for-the-afternoon Cheick Tiote will patrol the engine room alongside Anita, with a trio of Ben Arfa, Moussa Sissoko and Yoan Gouffran just ahead of them. And Cisse will lead the line on his own as he looks for his third goal of the season in all competitions. On the substitutes' ...

Newcastle v Arsenal (1330 GMT) Newcastle boss Alan Pardew on keeping hold of Yohan Cabaye, who was subject of £10m bid from Arsenal in the summer: "At times as a club you need to be strong and we were, the owner [Mike Ashley], myself, and [director of football] Joe Kinnear. We didn't feel the valuation was right and in my opinion he has been one of the top 10-15 players in the division. What's good for us will be good for France and Yohan Cabaye."

Newcastle boss Alan Pardew will head into the January Transfer Window hopeful of hanging on to star midfielder Yohan Cabaye as potential purchasers circle once again. The 27-year-old France international has returned to producing somewhere near his best form since a proposed summer switch to Arsenal fell through, and has been a central figure in the Magpies' encouraging start to the Barclays Premier League campaign. However, his future on Tyneside is likely to be raised once again next month with Liverpool and Paris St Germain having already been linked with moves for the former Lille schemer. Pardew knows how vulnerable he is to approaches from clubs with far bigger budgets having had to swallow Andy Carroll's B£35million departure to Anfield in January 2011 just weeks after his own arrival at St James' Park, but he is hopeful that owner Mike Ashley will not be looking to cash in on Cabaye this time around. He said: "I am pretty confident that my owner and the club are in a great financial position. I w ...

Alan Pardew hopeful on retaining Yohan Cabaye past January
Newcastle 1-1 Southampton Southampton claimed their first Barclays Premier League point at St James' Park since 2001 with a 1-1 draw against Newcastle United. Jay Rodriguez's seventh goal in all competitions this season cancelled out a first-half opener from Yoan Gouffran, the Frenchman's fourth strike in his last four home matches. Both sides had chances to win it in what proved to be a very open second half, with Loic Remy guilty of spurning a one-on-one opportunity late on. Ultimately, however, Southampton's winless league run was extended to five matches, while the hosts were denied a sixth victory in their last seven top-flight fixtures. Newcastle manager Alan Pardew, facing his former club, was without the suspended Yohan Cabaye, who picked up his fifth booking of the campaign before scoring the winner against Manchester United last time out, with Shola Ameobi coming in. No Fergie, no bother: The History Boys Manchester United 0 Newcastle 1 Saturday 7th December 2013 saw Newcastle rid themselves of one of their longest-running hoodoos by winning at Old Trafford in the league for the first time since February 1972. John Tudor and Stewart Barrowclough were the heroes almost 42 years ago but this time it was Yohan Cabaye who gave The Magpies victory over the reigning Champions with a deserved 61st minute winner. On the eve of his third anniversary in charge of United, Alan Pardew chose to bolster his midfield by drafting in Vurnon Anita in place of Shola Ameobi. And clad in their Brazilian-styled change kit, the visitors proceeded to dominate the middle of the park all afternoon. David Moyes was able to Welcome Back Robin Van Persie but the out-of-sorts Dutchman caused his compatriot/ adversary, Tim Krul, very few problems all afternoon. Vurnon Anita spoke to nufc.co.uk after helping Newcastle record a huge win at Manchester United By Anthony Marshall - Newcastle United Managing Editor Don't ever let it be said that footballers don't know what's at stake when they step on the pitch. And if you want proof of that, look no further than Newcastle United midfielder Vurnon Anita . This week, the Dutchman and his teammates had the Magpies' dreadful Old Trafford record drilled into them by manager Alan Pardew . More than 41 years had passed since Newcastle last won away at Manchester United, but with that statistic firmly etched into their minds, they set about wiping the slate clean. Yohan Cabaye 's second-half strike proved enough to secure all three points, and Anita was delighted to be part of an "historical win". "We knew that it had been 41 years since we last won here," he told nufc.co.uk after the final whistle. "We were told it a few days ago by the manager. It's a historical win and we did it with good, beautiful football. "We pressed ...
Man United suffer another home defeat 7 Dec 2013 16:52:25 Yohan Cabaye's goal earned Newcastle United a 1-0 victory on Saturday that consigned Manchester United to a second consecutive home loss for the first time in 11 years. The loss to Alan Pardew's side – the first time Newcastle have won at Old Trafford since 1972 – was the champions' fifth of the campaign and leaves manager David Moyes under increasing pressure to turn their season around. After the 1-0 defeat by Everton in mid-week, Moyes insisted that his team could still close the 12-point gap to leaders Arsenal. But while he will continue to put on a brave face in public, Moyes must be concerned by the lacklustre nature of his team's performances, as well as their poor results. Robin Van Persie returned from a month out with a groin problem, but was given little service from a midfield four that was completely changed from the Everton defeat. David Moyes' woes continued as Manchester United were beaten at home for the second time in four days, losing 1-0 to Newcastle United. The Premier League title holders lost 1-0 against Moyes' former club Everton on Wednesday and were beaten again on Saturday by a Newcastle side who picked up their first away league win at Old Trafford since 1972. Yohan Cabaye was the man on target for Newcastle, with the France international scoring after an hour. He calmly finished inside the area after being played in well by Moussa Sissoko to inflict consecutive home league defeats on the hosts for the first time since 2002. Alan Pardew's side had a slice of luck, however, as Vurnon Anita looked to handball an effort off the line at 0-0, before Robin Van Persie saw what would have been an equalising goal ruled out for offside. Moyes made one change in defence, bringing in Jonny Evans to replace Chris Smalling while making wholesale changes in his midfield. Nani, Phil Jones, Tom Cleverley and Adnan Januzaj were all brou ...
Newcastle United ended 41 years of hurt at Old Trafford. Alan Pardew became the first man to win against Manchester United in their own backyard in Premier League history while Yohan Cabaye scored the crucial goal to seal the deal. And they deserved it. Forget the fact Man United didn't have Wayne Rooney, this victory came after United edged possession and had more shots at goal throughout the contest. United won a game against the Red Devils at the Theatre of Dreams at the 33rd attempt since the 2-0 win in 1972 back in the days of Bob Moncur and Malcolm Macdonald. Man United fans have been happy to pile the misery on Newcastle fans with their gloating down the years but today they were reduced to helpless chants of "attack, attack, attack" as their side failed to deliver. This was Newcastle's day though and payback for some dismal days at Man United.Newcastle boss Alan Pardew started the game with Vurnon Anita restored to his starting XI with Shola Ameobi relegated to the bench. He was joined by Hatem Be ...
Alan Pardew says Yohan Cabaye can play Champions League football with Newcastle United
2-1 scored his eighth goal in as many matches as recorded a 2-1 victory over France international put the hosts ahead inside two minutes, before compatriot Yoan Gouffran scored a second before the break. Leroy Fer pulled a goal back for the visitors 10 minutes from time, but it was too little too late for Chris Hughton's men. Newcastle have now won three consecutive Barclays Premier League fixtures for the first time in 19 months, while Norwich have just one victory from their last six matches. Alan Pardew made one change from the side that beat Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 prior to the international break, with Fabricio Coloccini coming in for the suspended Mathieu Debuchy. Former Newcastle manager Hughton, meanwhile, made two changes to the Norwich XI that won 3-1 against West Ham United last time out, with Bradley Johnson and Nathan Redmond replacing Robert Snodgrass and Johan Elmander. It did not take long for the hosts to break the deadlock, as a second-minute Yohan Cabaye corner evaded the Norwich defence ...

The little talk with Alan Pardew and Yohan Cabaye before the free kick surely worked :):)
NEWCASTLE 2 - CHELSEA 0 By lee Ryder Newcastle United put in a superb performance today against Chelsea to record a 2-0 win at St James' Park. The victory was fully deserved by the Magpies and eased the pressure on Alan Pardew and Mike Ashley. And after a week of doom and gloom on Tyneside in which it emerged that the Chronicle and Journal were banned, today was all about football and the players as goals from Yoan Gouffran and Loic Remy netted in the second half to seal three points. Newcastle started in nervous fashion and struggled to find a way through the Chelsea defence. Yoan Gouffran had a shot blocked on eight minutes by Branislav Ivanovic. But Chelsea came close five minutes later when John Terry had a header tipped on to the bar by Tim Krul. Fernando Torres followed up but the Dutchman pushed his effort over. It took United until the half hour mark to fire a shot on target when Yohan Cabaye's effort went harmlessly into the arms of Petr Cech. Seven minutes later Frank Lampard's corner was headed ...
Alan Pardew did not have a 'massive problem' with Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa's red card after the Newcastle United defender was sent off in the 2-2 draw with Liverpool. Yanga-Mbiwa was dismissed five minutes before half-time in Saturday's Premier League clash at St James' Park when he pulled back Luis Suarez in the penalty area and Steven Gerrard drew Liverpool level for the first time from the spot. Magpies boss Pardew felt it was a 'tough call' for referee Andre Marriner, but can understand why Yanga-Mbiwa was dismissed. "I thought it was a tough call today," said Pardew. "I don't think Mapou really pulled him down in a manner that was a definite sending-off. "He got a little piece of him, he was the last man and I suppose by the letter of the law, he had to go. I haven't got a massive problem with it." Newcastle had earlier taken the lead through Yohan Cabaye's long-range shot before substitute Paul Dummett's first goal for the club restored the hosts' advantage. Daniel Sturridge headed Liverpool's second equal ...
Newcastle captain Fabricio Coloccini is sidelined by a muscle injury, while winger Jonas Gutierrez is ruled out because of personal reasons. However, Loic Remy, Moussa Sissoko, Mathieu Debuchy and Yohan Cabaye came back from international duty unscathed. Liverpool full-back Glen Johnson has returned to training after an ankle injury and could feature on Saturday. Aly Cissokho should also be available, while Joe Allen and Philippe Coutinho are nearing comebacks. Match Preview There's a smell of revenge in the air in the North East, and it's reeking from Newcastle's next two league games - Liverpool at home, then Sunderland away. "This Newcastle team still has a lot to prove as far as I am concerned - Loic Remy has done extremely well since arriving on loan from QPR but he was their only significant summer signing. "For me, they badly needed more new faces in the summer to improve the balance in the dressing room and gee some of the others up." In April, the Magpies lost 3-0 to the latter then 6-0 to the fo ...

Transfer news: Alan Pardew delighted to still have Yohan Cabaye at Newcastle
Two different Newcastle sides were on display at Goodison Park on Monday night as a first half horror show almost turned into a memorable second half comeback. However, three awful goals conceded before the break were enough to seal United's fate - although the Toffees almost came unstuck when Yohan Cabaye and Loic Remy both netted to threaten an unlikely comeback. Cabaye had been left on the bench by Alan Pardew due to fitness concerns, United lining up in a 4-5-1 formation headed by sole striker Remy and with Cheick Tiote and Yoan Gouffran included. Papiss Cisse was also a sub. That safety-first approach though translated into an open invitation for Everton to swarm forward unmolested and Romelu Lukaku rounded off a swift counter attack on five minutes by hammering the ball past Tim Krul. Further pathetic defending allowed the on-loan striker to rampage forward and he set up Ross Barkley to notch a second before latching on to Tim Howard's upfield punt to embarrassingly elude Fabricio Coloccini and Krul ...
Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has confirmed that Yohan Cabaye will start againg Cardiff City on Saturday after shaking off injury concerns. -
Everton's unbeaten start to the Premier League season continued as they moved up to fourth with an excellent display against Newcastle. Loic Remy's late strike ensured a nervy finish for Everton, who deserved the win after taking a 3-0 first-half lead. Romelu Lukaku opened the scoring at the near post and prodded in the third, either side of feeding in midfielder Ross Barkley for his well-taken goal. Yohan Cabaye's superb shot made it 3-1 before Remy poked home. The French striker then almost levelled for the Magpies with a stoppage-time strike that flew just a foot above the Everton bar. Had he scored and rescued a point for Newcastle, it would have been a bitter and unjust blow for Everton, who were outstanding, especially during the first 45 minutes. Roberto Martinez's side were sharp, showed great movement and closed down the opposition superbly. And they remain unbeaten in the Premier League under the Spaniard, who succeeded David Moyes in the summer, ahead of a trip to Manchester City on Saturday, T ...

Alan Pardew's dismay at PSG boss's comments on Yohan Cabaye By Lee Ryder Alan Pardew has revealed his frustration after Laurent Blanc went public in his admiration for Yohan Cabaye. The Paris St-Germain boss told a packed Press conference recently that Cabaye was “an interesting player” in a move that merely fuelled the fires, with the mega-rich Ligue 1 champions thought to be keen on the Toon star. Pardew has questioned Blanc’s management etiquette, and when asked if he was annoyed by the comments, he told the Chronicle: “A little bit. “I don't think that's right. “He can get on the phone to me, or make a bid. “I think that's the right way to do it.” Cabaye has remained in the limelight this summer after new director of football Joe Kinnear mispronounced his name. And Pardew said he will hold talks with Cabaye when he returns to training next week. Pardew said: “I think the way it's come out isn't perhaps respectful to Yohan. “That's something I want to talk to him about.” The Newca ...

Top ten talents linked with a move to Old Trafford this summer. It is all change at Manchester United following the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson at the end of last season. David Moyes has taken over from the legendary Scottish manager and is eager to stamp his mark on United’s squad by signing several quality players over the summer. Here are Manchester United’s top ten summer transfer targets. 10- Yohan Cabaye- Newcastle United The midfielder has been a integral part of Newcastle’s midfield for several years now and had an excellent 2011/2012 season, where he helped the Magpies to a fifth place finish in the Premier League, falling agonisingly short of a place in the Champions League. The 2012/2013 wasn’t as kind for Newcastle and instead of mixing with the Premier League’s top clubs they were fighting a relegation battle, finishing 16th. Much criticism feel on manager Alan Pardew and with the appointment of Joe Kinnear as the club’s director of football, it remains to be seen whether Pard ...
Newcastle United are bracing themselves for a bid for Yohan Cabaye from Paris Saint-Germain and must decide whether to sell for around £20m or hold the France midfielder to his contract. Laurent Blanc, the new PSG coach, holds Cabaye in high regard and sources in France suggest the PSG are preparing an offer which could be submitted as early as Monday. Although Monaco have also been tracking Cabaye, he forged a strong relationship with Blanc when the latter was France coach and offered the former Lille midfielder an important role in the national side. Cabaye has three years remaining on his deal at St James' Park and is said to be a favourite of Mike Ashley, Newcastle's owner, but cashing in on the 27-year-old would help fund manager Alan Pardew's double £26m bid for the St Etienne striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and the central defender Kurt Zouma. Moreover, there would also be cash left over to purchase other targets, including the Aston Villa forward Darren Bent. After arriving on Tyneside from Li ...
Joe Kinnear believes his long friendship with Graham Carr can only help Newcastle United’s transfer activity this summer. Kinnear, the Magpies’ new director of football, has known chief scout Carr for more than 30 years. The two men have had a number of meetings this week as they look to progress the club’s signings. Carr has been the key figure in Newcastle’s transfer policy over the last couple of seasons, unearthing players like Yohan Cabaye, Sylvain Marveaux, Cheick Tiote and Papiss Cisse for relatively modest sums. Kinnear’s arrival as director of football – and claims that he would be in charge of all transfers – led to reports that Carr was considering his position at the club, especially as Kinnear had put the block on a free transfer move for Brazilian defender Douglas, who Carr had recommended. But Kinnear insists the pair – and manager Alan Pardew – can all work together to improve Newcastle’s squad. “I’ve known Graham since he started off managing in non-league football ...

Said he wasn't a threat to manager Alan Pardew. Said he had won three manager of the Year Awards, when he actually won one at Wimbledon in 1994. Incorrectly said he had signed goalkeeper Tim Krul, who was brought to the club by Graeme Souness in 2005 . Mispronounced several players' names, including calling Newcastle managing director Derek Llambias "Lambazi", Yohan Cabaye "Yohan Cabab" and Shola Ameobi "Shola Amamobi".

Listen to gazza ashley/james Paul Gascoigne has warned Newcastle United they will never succeed until they stop selling their best players. Looking in fantastic shape after health issues earlier this year, the former Toon midfielder told a packed Tyneside talk-in that United owner Mike Ashley won’t win any plaudits simply for making the Magpies debt-free. Gazza was sensationally sold to Tottenham in 1988 for a then British record £2m, but says he only left St James’ Park because of a lack of ambition after controversial sales such as Peter Beardsley to Liverpool and Chris Waddle to the White Hart Lane club. Now, with fans braced for the sale of Yohan Cabaye, and even Alan Pardew admitting publicly he fears his top stars will be sold, Gascoigne does not want to see his old club go into decline again. Gazza’s departure in 1988 kicked off a chain of events that resulted in relegation from the old First Division. Expressing his concern on his appearance at Hedworth Hall, Gazza said: “I didn’t want ...
Newcastle United are refusing to let anybody leave on the cheap – including sought-after utility man James Perch. The 27-year-old is currently on holiday in the United States with team-mates. However, sources in the Midlands say that Champion-ship side Leicester City are keen on his services next season. The Foxes do have money to spend but it is thought that £1.5m is the fee they have in mind for the ex-Nottingham Forest captain. Perch played 37 games last term and scored one goal for United. Newcastle quipped earlier this year that they had slapped 15m on all of their players as they wanted to keep the squad together. Alan Pardew has since admitted that United will be “hard sellers” this summer. And if Leicester want to add Perch to their squad before the big kick off they will have to up their stake. Perch does have just one year left on his current deal and is a man that Pardew and his backroom staff know they can rely on. However, United have Yohan Cabaye, Cheick Tiote, Moussa Sissoko an ...
Alan Pardew praised his Newcastle United side for 'winning ugly' as they launched another home fightback to see off Stoke on Sunday. The Magpies fell behind midway through the second half to a Jonathan Walters penalty, but Yohan Cabaye and Papiss Cisse were on target for the hosts at St. James' Park to turn the Premier League fixture on its head and secure maximum points. United have been through similar scenarios in their previous two Tyneside league games - against Chelsea and Southampton - with identical victorious outcomes. And manager Pardew believes they yet again ground out the win on a difficult afternoon. "It was a tough game," "Stoke are really tough opposition, our fans are intelligent enough to know that. They defended deep, got bodies behind the ball, made us make mistake and we looked ugly. "But that's what they are good at, and they are always a threat, so to win it was a massive bonus for us. "We were quicker in the second half from set-plays - our throw-ins, goal-kicks and free-kicks. "We ...

If Yohan Cabaye being responsible for getting his best pal Mathieu Debuchy to Newcastle in January, and also being influential in getting both Yanga-Mbiwa and Moussa Sissoko to Tyneside, we wonder who Yohan will be talking to Alan Pardew about – as the next Yohan Cabaye friend to arrive at Newcastle. Just to review what Mathieu Debuchy had said about Yohan’s influence last month, after he had just signed on at Newcastle – this is what the right-back said: “My relationship with Yohan, it’s true, goes back a long, long time to when we first played together as kids.” ”He has been a big help and I will be living with him here until I get myself sorted out.” “It’s a real plus that he is here and hopefully, he will help me settle quicker.” “Yohan and I have spoken a lot about Newcastle. It has been a regular topic of conversation, particularly during the Euros.” “We were together for three weeks and he talked about the club all the time. He just told me that Newcastle was the be ...
Yohan Cabaye has expressed his pride after he was chosen to captain Newcastle despite their 1-0 defeat against Swansea on Saturday. The France midfielder stepped up to the role after regular skipper Fabricio Coloccini was ruled out with a back injury, but he was unable to lead the Magpies to victory as they lost out to an 85th minute Luke Moore strike. Cabaye admitted that he would have swapped the captaincy for a victory at the Liberty Stadium but thanked manager Alan Pardew for the "honour" of wearing the armband. "It means a lot, because in my career this is probably only about the fifth time this has happened," the former Lille man told Newcastle's official website. "For me it was fantastic, especially to receive the confidence from the manager for this role. It is a big thing. "But nothing changed for me. I stayed relaxed, focused and I didn't want to be different just because I was captain. "It was an honour for me but the main thing is the result and for my first time as Newcastle captain I lost th ...

Shola Ameobi was spot on as he helped Newcastle reach the last 16 of the Europa League with a solid 1-0 aggregate victory against Metalist Kharkiv in Ukraine. The only goal of the tie came after 64 minutes when Papa Gueye's woeful back-pass was seized upon by Moussa Sissoko before he was brought crashing to the ground by Aleksandr Goryainov. That allowed Ameobi to slot home his 15th European goal - only Alan Shearer has scored more for the club, as the Metalist goalkeeper dived the wrong way. Magpies' Tim Krul then produced a string of spectacular saves to deny the hosts a way back into the tie as Alan Pardew's men advanced to the next stage of the competiton and a clash against Anzhi Makhachkala or Hannover. It was the visitors who made the brighter start as the physicality of Ameobi and Sissoko, as well as the control exerted by Yohan Cabaye and Vurnon Anita in the middle of the field, caused all kinds of problems for the home side. Ameobi saw a second-minute cross taken off Papiss Cisse's toe as he pre ...
Newcastle United won the battle of the Premier League strugglers to extend Aston Villa's misery and plunge them into the relegation places. Paul Lambert's side - knocked out of the Capital One Cup and FA Cup by lower league opposition in the last week - paid the price for a dreadful first-half performance that allowed Newcastle to take control. Papiss Cisse and Yohan Cabaye gave them a two-goal lead at half-time that proved too much for Villa to turn around, even with a vastly-improved effort after the break. Christian Benteke's penalty just after half-time established the platform for a Villa rally, but Alan Pardew's side held out for their first league win since mid-December. Pardew will hope this win will finally help Newcastle find the sort of form that took them into the top five last season - but Villa are now deep in trouble and in desperate need of points and new faces to rejuvenate side lacking confidence and inspiration. This latest defeat means Villa have lost their last three home games in the ...

Magpies manager has seemingly short memory. “I saw a headline saying Arsenal are flying the flag for Britain in the Champions League, but I had to wonder where that British involvement was when I saw the team. “It is important we don’t lose sight that this is the English Premier League and English players should be involved. I know it is difficult to buy British players because the market is expensive.” – Alan Pardew, West Ham United manager, 2006. Howay! Have you forgotten that Alan? Newcastle boss Alan Pardew is seemingly in possession of a very short memory. fanatix has found an old news report on ESPN in which Pardew criticises Arsenal at some length for their focus on foreign imports. Fast-forward to the future and Pardew is currently operating on a seemingly self-imposed ban to only purchase players from France’s Ligue 1. Pardew had already created a strong French contingent at St James’ Park with the likes of Demba Ba, Papiss Cisse, Hatem Ben Arfa and Yohan Cabaye having made their wa ...
Newcastle midfielder Yohan Cabaye has told fans to blame him, not manager Alan Pardew, for his second-half substitution during the Magpies' 2-1 defeat at home to Reading. -Jake
When manager Alan Pardew substituted Yohan Cabaye in the second half yesterday – it was met by boos and jeers from the long suffering Newcastle fans, who at the start of the season even thought we had a good team.
Alan Pardew: It’s players of his calibre - and Tim Krul and Yohan Cabaye - who are going to get us up the league.
Alan Pardew has admitted he had to persuade the Newcastle United board to break their policy of not recruiting players over the age of 25 to land the France right-back Mathieu Debuchy. Newcastle completed the signing of the 27-year-old for £4.7million today after the former Lille team-mate of Yohan Cabaye passed a club medical.
Newcastle to break bank for Osaze…May replace Ba Newcastle’s boss, Alan Pardew, is reported to be interested in Nigerian international, Peter Odemwingie, in case Demba Ba leaves this month. According to The Sun(London), Newcastle wants Odemwingie to replace Senegalese striker, Ba, who has sparked off interest from a number of clubs including Chelsea. It’s not the first time Newcastle has been linked with the striker, but at 31, he’s the same age as compatriot, Shola Ameobi, and Peter hardly fits the profile of players Newcastle would want to sign in January. The Sun reported that talks were ongoing with West Brom about Osaze as it seems they may be willing to sell the Nigerian star, who joined West Brom in 2010 from Russian club, Lokomotiv Moscow, and before that he played at Lille with both Yohan Cabaye and Mathieu Debuchy. Odemwinge has a decent record at West Brom having appeared 73 times for them with 30 goals, and this season, while he’s only appeared nine times, he’s still managed to sco ...
Debuchy signing can lift Toon - Pardew Newcastle boss Alan Pardew is hoping a successful pursuit of Mathieu Debuchy will help to secure the club's biggest names. The Magpies are hopeful of pushing through their protracted move for the 27-year-old Lille full-back later this week after tracking the France international for more than a year. At a time when the future of striker Demba Ba is looking increasingly uncertain, that would represent a major boost for Pardew as he looks to build his team around the likes of Tim Krul, Fabricio Coloccini, Hatem Ben Arfa, Papiss Cisse and Debuchy's close friend, Yohan Cabaye. He said: "When you sign good, senior international players, which he is, it's going to give everybody a boost, your senior players too. "I hope that's the case - but we are still far from a deal yet." In the short term, Pardew's only focus, however, is the clash at Everton in which the Magpies will attempt to avoid a ninth defeat in just 11 Barclays Premier League games. Pardew's problems have been ...
VIDEO Newcastle manager Alan Pardew: Steven Taylor and Yohan Cabaye's return to training is a boost for everyone
Double Joy With Debuchy Deal Following yesterday’s reports of Mathieu Debuchy’s agreed deal with Newcastle United and imminent signing, the move will surely have other not so hidden benefits. Alan Pardew recently announced that Yohan Cabaye is ahead of schedule and could be available in mid-January, or as it is know these days, mid-January Transfer Window. With Newcastle’s form & league position and Demba Ba’s imminent departure, the last thing we would need is vultures sniffing around our playmaker, with press claims that amongst others, Arsene Wenger is interested in Cabaye. As and when Debuchy signs on the dotted line, it can only be massively down to his much talked about friendship with Yohan Cabaye. A current French international choosing to move abroad to a relegation threatened club, he would surely have had numerous other options if he’d chosen to look elsewhere. Cabaye and Debuchy spent thirteen years together at Lille, as literally men and boys, and are best mates. This is in contrast ...
Alan Pardew has said Steven Taylor and Yohan Cabaye will be back for the Norwich or Reading game Hatem Ben Arfa is a little further away.
Football - Premier League Debuchy heading to Newcastle Newcastle have agreed a deal to sign France international defender Mathieu Debuchy from Lille. Press Association Sport understands the Magpies have finally reached an agreement with the Ligue 1 side on a 6 million euro transfer after failing to land the player despite protracted talks during the summer. The 27-year-old, a former team-mate of midfielder Yohan Cabaye, has made no secret of his desire to head for Tyneside, and a resolution to the long-running saga would come as a huge relief to manager Alan Pardew. Sources in France have indicated that could now happen with the Transfer Window due to open on Tuesday and that would come as a timely boost for Pardew after a difficult festive programme. The 51-year-old side saw his team score three times at Manchester United on Boxing Day and on a further three occasions at Arsenal, yet leave empty-handed having conceded a total of 11 times. Debuchy's addition to the squad would put a player of internationa ...
Alan Pardew wants experienced players "We've got numerous injuries, we had a very young midfield today and if we had a bit more experience we could have got something, We've got no Cheick [Tiote], no Hatem [Ben Arfa], no [Yohan] Cabaye, no [Jonas] Gutierrez...blimey. "We've given a great account of ourselves but we've got no points, and that has to hurt. The goals against us were too soft and that's something we have to address. The last goal should be avoided really, it was a simple goal...and you end up with a really horrible afternoon when it could have been so much better for us." "It was a great effort but unfortunately no points. Our fans were brilliant today and we should have got something or them in my opinion."
Alan Pardew reveals his January targets in answer to your questions ALAN PARDEW today insisted Newcastle United will "definitely" look to add another player to his squad in January - and for the second window running attempt to keep together the side that guided the Magpies to fifth place last season. Pardew has never shirked his responsibilities when it comes to answering the fans, and after the Chronicle's Big Toon Survey, the United boss was happy to answer the five most popular themes in a Q and A session. Understandably, Pardew is keeping his cards close to his chest when it comes to the identities of January targets. But with one player set to come through the door in the New Year, Pardew also revealed his hopes that he could retain his squad and keep Demba Ba, Yohan Cabaye, Hatem Ben Arfa and Cheick Tiote.
