Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew rued an early penalty decision that went against his side at Manchester United on Friday.Pardew's men ultimately lost 3-1 at Old Trafford following two goals from Wayne Rooney and a Robin van Persie header, but things could have been much different after an incident in the 14th minute. While attempting to collect a lofted pass, Yoan Gouffran found himself tripped inside the United area by Juan Mata, denying what Pardew felt was a clear goal-scoring opportunity. Yet referee Mike Jones opted against awarding a penalty and, although Newcastle did later score from the spot through Papiss Cisse in the 87th minute, Pardew was left wondering what might have been. He told reporters: "I thought we started the game well and the referee has made a bad call early, because I think that is a penalty. "It's a goal-scoring opportunity, so you have to say that was clumsy and a penalty. I was disappointed with that. "But the cutting edge was the difference between the two teams - they . ...
Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal concedes that his side are still doing "very bad things" despite beating Newcastle United. United remain 10 points behind Premier League leaders Chelsea following a 3-1 win over Alan Pardew's men at Old Trafford on Boxing Day, with Van Gaal's side ultimately easing to victory. Wayne Rooney, playing from a midfield role, scored twice for the hosts, with Robin van Persie netting the other as United recorded their seventh win from their last eight Premier League games. Substitute Papiss Cisse converted a late penalty after Phil Jones had tripped Jack Colback and, although that proved to be nothing more than a consolation for Newcastle, Van Gaal feels that his men are still doing a lot wrong. He told BT Sport : "We make progress in every game but we are also doing very bad things in every game. "We have to improve that but I am satisfied because we are dominating most of our game - not always winning but that is coming." Despite the 10-point gap behind leaders Chelsea, ...

Newcastle United put on keeper alert NEWCASTLE United could attempt to sign a goalkeeper on an emergency loan – after Rob Elliot joined Tim Krul on the sidelines. Elliot suffered a thigh injury in Saturday’s 2-1 win over Premier League leaders Chelsea at St James’s Park. And 21-year-old Jak Alnwick came off the bench for the second half. United manager Alan Pardew revealed after the game that Alnwick would be in goal for Saturday’s game against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium. However, if a scan on Elliot’s thigh reveals significant damage, the club could ask the Premier League if it could take a goalkeeper on an emergency loan – or sign a free agent. Manchester City signed Marton Fulop on a temporary deal from Sunderland in similar circumstances four and a half years ago. League regulations allow such a move outside the transfer window in “exceptional circumstances”. “I’ll have a scan on Monday and hope for the best,” Elliot told the Gazette. “Fingers crossed I won’t be out for ...

THE BREAKDOWN :NEWCASTLE VS CHELSEA Newcastle United Team News: Arsenal and Manchester United claim most of the headlines when it comes to number of injuries, but Newcastle have had more than their fair share of troubles on that front as well. They currently count nine (10) players out, though Fabricio Coloccini is expected to be fit enough to be available for selection. The nine others who won't be include Tim Krul , Ryan Taylor (injured, AGAIN, sadface), Rolando Aarons , Sammy Ameobi (doubtful), Gabriel Obertan , Davide Santon , Siem De Jong, and Jonas Gutierrez (who's recovering from cancer treatment!). Alan Pardew's season got off to just about the worst possible start, but he and the team have recovered rather spectacularly, winning five straight at one point. ROB LEE-Newcastle United fans don't care if a player comes from the moon - they only care whether they do well for the club I used to know nothing about Newcastle United, the city itself, North East culture or even whether it was a nice place to live. This was back in 1992 when this soft southerner was playing for Charlton Athletic. Then out the blue I got a call from Kevin Keegan, the new manager of Newcastle, who wanted to know whether I fancied moving way, way up north. Actually, I tell a lie when I say that I didn’t know anything about Newcastle. I knew one thing. They really liked their football in that part of the world. I had played at St James’ Park a few times and there were always really big crowds, more than you might expect for a game outside what was then the First Division. I also tended to do well there, and Roker Park for that matter. I saw Newcastle and Kevin as a club and a manager that were going to improve me as a player. If I had any fears about how the Geordie people would treat ...

Alan Pardew set to stick with same system for must-win Newcastle United match Newcastle United have deployed one up front for most of this season and despite calls for Ayoze Perez and Adam Armstrong, that will continue Alan Pardew looks set to stick with one up front for the trip to Swansea as he battles for his job in South Wales. The Newcastle United boss is under major pressure to justify his team selection and strategy and Mike Ashley has quizzed him about his handling of the side since the start of the season. However, there is unlikely to be a major shift in system for Saturday’s game against Swansea despite a clamour for Pardew to introduce young guns like Adam Armstrong and Ayoze Perez to the striking mix. With Papiss Cisse still short of match sharpness, Pardew has to decide whether to stick with Manu Riviere for the game against high-flying Swansea – which comes with his job under serious threat. Although the club have indicated he will stay in his job in the short-term – andAshley is reti ...

Pardew sees positives in loss Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew admitted that a 2-0 defeat was tough to take after an encouraging performance against Manchester City. Goals from David Silva and Sergio Aguero secured victory for the Premier League champions at St James' Park, but it was an evenly contested encounter. While Newcastle did not carve out many good chances, they put City under pressure at times and there were good displays from summer signings Daryl Janmaat, Jack Colback, Remy Cabella and Emmanuel Riviere. Rolando Aarons and Ayoze Perez also impressed as substitutes and Pardew was disappointed not to take anything from the match, but had plenty of reasons to be positive. He told Sky Sports: "It was frustrating for us because in the second half we really pushed on up and put some younger players on, who were a bit naive at times but who threatened with their pace. We just couldn't get that equaliser. "I feel that if we could have got that then we could have gone on to win it because we looked li ...

Alan Pardew was overwhelmed by the level of support Newcastle United received on their pre-season tour of New Zealand. Thousands of fans turned out at both matches, as well as a number of community events across the cities of Dunedin and Wellington, and Pardew was taken aback by what they experienced. "It makes you realise the power of the Premier League," the manager told nufc.co.uk . "The welcome, the support and the enthusiasm from the people of New Zealand has been fantastic, and hopefully we can replicate that for the first game of the season at St. James' Park against Manchester City. There had been rumors of this in the last couple of months of the season, and in France today news outlet Mercato 365 is reporting that Yanga-Mbiwa will be allowed to leave Newcastle United this summer. Mapou joined us from Montpellier in January of last year, when he was one of five French players brought into the club that month, but he has never really settled down in English football, and manager Alan Pardew has decided to let him go, so we will see at least one new center-back coming into the Tyneside club this summer. When he was signed sixteen months ago, he was thought to have been a good signing for about £7M for the Magpies, since he could play anywhere across the back line, but after some solid performances, he put in some performances where he looked anything but steady. Loan pair Loic Remy and Luuk De Jong will also return to their respective parent clubs Queens Park Rangers and Borussia Monchengladbach. It means the Toon Army are left with only one recognised senior striker, Papiss Cisse, who is out with a knee injury and could miss the start of next season. Ameobi came through the ranks on Tyneside before making his debut in September 2000. However, he struggled to ever hold down a regular spot at St James' Park, making 397 appearances and scoring 79 goals in total. Seven of those came against Sunderland in Tyne-Wear derby fixtures while the 32-year-old also famously scored in the Champions League against Barcelona at the Camp Nou in December 2002. Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew said: "I have to make a special mention of Shola Ameobi, who has been an incredible servant to Newcastle Un ...

Premier League Match Day 38 / Season Finale When: Sunday, May 11, 5:00 PM EAST AFRICAN / TZ TIME Where: Anfield Liverpool FC vs. Newcastle United Liverpool host Newcastle United at Anfield on the final day of the 2013/14 Premier League season, with the Reds needing a win to have any chance of clinching a first league title in 24 years. This fixture has been one of the most entertaining and exciting in Premier League history, with goals almost always guaranteed and both teams fond of playing attacking football. The reverse fixture at St James’ Park back in October ended in a 2-2 stalemate, while Liverpool fans will remember clearly their 6-0 drubbing of Newcastle towards the end of last season. Since then, both teams have experienced contrasting fortunes: Brendan Rodgers has led his team from a seventh-place finish to being within reach of the title, while Alan Pardew has seen his future publicly questioned by the Geordie faithful. And while the Liverpool fans at Anfield will be looking to give their her ...
(Puts it all into perspective really. I bet Newcastle, utd and even Chelsea would like to have our team and our supporters, not to mention the owners and Brendan. Look what we have achieved in such a short time) Newcastle United’s fans staged a mass exodus of St James’ Park as they protested against owner Mike Ashley and manager Alan Pardew during their final home match of the season - as star forward Hatem Ben Arfa watched from the stands. The Toon Army left the stadium in their thousands on 69 minutes as they called for Ashley to leave the club and Pardew to be sacked. The Newcastle United Supporters Trust had encouraged fans to walk out during the game against Cardiff City. The significance of the 69th minute is that the club last won a trophy in 1969, the year of their Fairs Cup triumph. A statement released by the NUST on Friday read: 'As fans we have deep concerns at the direction Newcastle United is heading in, both on and off the pitch. 'The vast majority of supporters are angry and frustrated ...
Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew was unmoved by the criticism directed towards him during their 3-0 win over Cardiff City. "It was a strange atmosphere in the stadium, and we had to stand up today," Pardew told Sky Sports. "Obviously it is difficult. Our fans are frustrated, but I still think they are the best fans in the world. "They are upset. We will look to recruit in the summer and come back stronger. "Coming to the sideline I was antagonising them so I took a seat. "I was just proud of the players." Pardew also had sympathy for his counterpart Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, whose side were relegated after their loss at St James' Park. "They've got good players and a good young manager," Pardew added. "He'll grow. You get stronger when you go through difficult times."

I have read about mass walk out of games, demonstrations against Mike Ashley and Alan Pardew, none of this is going to bother Mike Ashley,he already has the gate money for Saturdays game..The only way to hurt Mike Ashley and to make him fulfill false promises of major spending on new players is to not renew season tickets until new players arrive at the club..He may argue that season ticket money will help pay for these players but that is *** .Newcastle United has little or no debt, therefore the signing of new players and a show of ambition should be no problem to Mike Ashley and his board..If the fans stuck together instead of making idle threats and done something positive like witholding season ticket money Mike Ashley would have to listen,,after all a business isn,t a business with no income...
Frustration with Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has been sounded loud and clear and it’s time for him to go, argue fans
From the MACKEM ECHO LALAS SWAP DEAL FOR JONAS NEWCASTLE United could turn to Robert Snodgrass this summer - with the club looking to buy British. The Norwich City winger, who has just over a year left on his contract, is interesting Newcastle. The 26-year-old Glaswegian, strongly linked with a move to Celtic in January, is expected to leave Carrow Road in the summer after two years at the club. Newcastle boss Alan Pardew, under intense pressure after a club-record run of six successive Premier League defeats, has already held transfer talks with owner Mike Ashley, managing director Lee Charnley and chief scout Graham Carr. Pardew is keen for Newcastle, who have delved heavily into the French market in recent seasons, to sign more British talent
From Irish Independent Luke Edwards – Published 30 April 2014 02:30 AM Mike Ashley has indicated that he is finally willing to release the funds needed for a major overhaul of Newcastle United's squad, but he remains unsure whether Alan Pardew will be the manager who spends Newcastle's form in 2014 has exposed the weaknesses in a side without a permanent signing added since January 2013, and has raised questions about whether Pardew has lost the respect of the dressing-room. The Magpies have lost 14 of their last 19 games in all competitions and have failed to score in 13 of those matches. The 3-0 defeat at Arsenal on Monday night once again led to loud and sustained calls for Pardew's head from Newcastle's travelling support, although the 52-year-old remains convinced he can turn things around.
I am sick to death of arguing with feckin *** who think they know about Newcastle United and the history of the club.We have had players who became managers Harvey,Keegan and we have had a manager who never ever broke a contract in his life Sir Bobby Robson they knew about the Geordie culture they knew what it meant on a Saturday night having a great time celebrating a Newcastle win they knew what it meant to the Geordies.Fast forward to Alan Pardew which i think he is on excuse 2,600 book 44.I am not just blaming Pardew i am blaming those so called players and excuse me while i say this those pathetic players who SHOULD be proud to put the famous Black n White shirt on those players are simply not good enough for a MASSIVE club over 50,000 for every home game if you look at our history we have had so many world class players at the club.I could go on all the time but as far as i am concerned 6 defeats in a row the worst run since 1987,losing to your main rivals 3 games in a row is simply not good enou .. ...

Alan Pardew hopes he survives long enough as Newcastle United's manager to present his case for continuing in the job during talks with Mike Ashley, the club's owner, at the end of the season
Great Article below by NUFC Daily, Worth a read. Ashley out: Following a run of form that has seen Newcastle United lose their last 6 games on the spin, as well as only picking up 12 points since Boxing Day, it would appear that chants and banners of "Pardew Out" are now all the rage. However, I am going to take a different spin on our recent abysmal run of form. I've never been in vogue, so why change now? Alan Pardew is a disgrace to this football club, don't get me wrong, but he is but symptom of a rampant tumour that ravages Newcastle United ever since it first reared its seemingly benign head above the parapet 7 long years ago. That cancer is, of course, Mike Ashley. While I cannot disagree with the fans who like to voice their disaffection at the silver-haired lothario who tells more lies and reels off so much spin that it is a wonder he isn't dizzy, but I cannot help but feel that the bigger picture is being missed entirely. I don't for one second feel that Pardew deserves any sympathy, after all, ...

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew expects Loic Remy, Moussa Sissoko and Mathieu Debuchy to play key roles against Arsenal. The three France internationals have all shaken off injuries and will be looked upon to provide a much-needed lift on Monday as Pardew's men seek to end a run of five straight defeats. Leading scorer Remy and full-back Debuchy each featured as substitutes against Swansea City last weekend following respective calf and groin problems. Sissoko, meanwhile, has overcome a hamstring complaint that had kept him out for a month. Ahead of the trip to Arsenal, Pardew told reporters: They will be up to speed and will be very important to this game. Newcastle's boss will return to the touchline at the Emirates Stadium, having served a lengthy suspension for his altercation with Hull City's David Meyler last month. Newcastle United could be without the services of Adam Armstrong for the final game of the season against Liverpool. The Geordie teenager has been called up for the England Under-17 squad for the European Championships in Malta. England depart for the tournament on May 6 with the first game against the hosts three days later. United travel to Anfield on May 11 and, while the Magpies are permitted to request he isn’t involved with England, they are eager to let Armstrong experience a big tournament. Newcastle have eased Armstrong into the first-team set up so far and Alan Pardew may start with Armstrong on the bench at Arsenal on Monday night. He would have the chance to make a final appearance for United against Cardiff on the final home game of the season, but as it stands is expected to link up with the Three Lions three days later. Armstrong will be joined by United’s rookie goalkeeper Freddie Woodman for the tournament. The first game takes place against Malta at the National Stadium in Ta’Qali ...

track a Forster return NEWCASTLE United are considering a shock bid to lure Celtic No 1 Fraser Forster back to St James’ Park The Magpies are looking at possible summer replacements for wantaway keeper Tim Krul. Krul, who had a loan spell at Falkirk in 2007/08, has lost his place with the Dutch national team and feels he needs to leave Newcastle to regain it. That would put boss Alan Pardew in the market for a new shotstopper, and reports from Tyneside claim England cap Forster and PSV’s Jeroen Zoet are among his main targets. Forster came through the Newcastle ranks before Pardew loaned him out to Stockport, Bristol Rovers, Norwich and then Celtic. The Scottish champions finally bought him for £2.2million in 2012. Newcastle, however, would have to fork out substantially more to get Forster back as Celtic would be looking for at least three times that initial investment. The 26-year-old has excelled at Parkhead, especially in the Champions League, and that form has helped push him into the England se ...

Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew has revealed that it was difficult to lift his players after the 2-1 loss to Swansea City
Moyes absurd statements that he should never have uttered. 1. AGAINST NEWCASTLE: Quite simply, David Moyes did not speak like a Manchester United manager. Where Sir Alex Ferguson once dubbed Newcastle United a "wee club in the northeast," Moyes seemed fearful of a side that had not won at Old Trafford in 41 years. Ahead of Alan Pardew's visit in December (to the home of the champions, no less) Moyes said he would try and "make it difficult" for Newcastle. In so doing, it showed that he continually struggled to shake the shackles that defined his Everton tenure -- that of the feisty underdog. 2. AGAINST CARDIFF: Following a damaging 2-2 draw at Cardiff in November, Moyes laughably claimed that he would have taken a point at the newly promoted side if he was offered it before kickoff. A point. Against a newly promoted side in the grip of damaging boardroom unrest. 3. AFTER CITY GAME: But perhaps the most damning public statement arrived when Manchester City wiped the floor with Moyes' United at Old Trafford ...

Relegation looms for Fulham Fulham, who are at home to Alan Pardew-less Newcastle United on Saturday, look doomed. Their last match at fellow strugglers Cardiff City was a must-not- lose, if only to provide them with a granule of hope that survival will be doable. Yet a 3-1 defeat with the defending plainly rotten reiterated Felix Magath's job is an increasingly hopeless one. Bottom of the table, four points from safety, without a win in the top flight since Jan. 1 and on to their third permanent manager of the season, the West London club's time in the Premier League looks up.
Stoke skipper Ryan Shawcross is reportedly wanted by Newcastle United in the summer. The Daily Mail is reporting that the Toon boss Alan Pardew sees Shawcross as a possible future mainstay in the heart of Newcastle's defence. But it could take the best part of £10m to prise the 26-year-old lynchpin away from his spiritual home here at the Britannia. The middle of Newcastle's defence is currently occupied by the likes of Fabricio Coloccini, Steven Taylor and Potteries-born Mike Williamson.

If you were wondering whether Alan Pardew is a total Git.It is the mantra of every radio phone-in halfwit that a manager must, above all, “show passion”. Well, 10 years ago, Newcastle United employed that most passionate of all football men, Sir Bobby Robson. To attend one of his post-match briefings was one of the truest privileges my profession could offer. A great man still talking about football with child-like enthusiasm after a lifetime in the game. Yet somehow you couldn’t have imagined Sir Bobby sticking the nut on an opposition player. There was plenty wrong with Newcastle’s previous board, under Freddy Shepherd, but while Sir Bobby was in position, the club boasted one of world football’s greatest statesmen as its figurehead. The man oozed class. He understood the Geordie nation, sure, but he also understood the importance of football to the working man, the world over. Sir Bobby Robson loved football. Newcastle’s current manager, Alan Pardew, appears to love only himself. PA A f ...

He knew Alan would get a lot of stick from all and sundry, so tried to dumb the flames by saying manager's like players also lose their heads in such high pressurised situations. Therefore, was really upset to hear the 'dull monotones' of Alan Shearer state that Alan Pardew should resign before he is sacked as he let the fans of Newcastle United down. Well well Alan Shearer, can I take you back to the time when you were playing for Newcastle and you were giving your match complimentary tickets to your father, who in turn was selling them to ticket touts ! Now tell me, who was really letting the football mad Geordie nation down ?

A club statement regarding an incident involving manager Alan Pardew at Hull on Saturday Newcastle United are disappointed with the actions of its manager Alan Pardew this afternoon (Saturday, 1st March).
Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has been fined £100,000 for headbutting a Hull player during a match. It was a shocking scene. People aren't used to seeing a football manager use his head.
Alan Pardew should receive a long ban from football, forcing Newcastle United to find a new manager. Hull City's David Meyler should have received a red card rather than a yellow one. One cannot shove a non player out of the way like that.
Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer would not be surprised if Alan Pardew was to resign after headbutting David Meyler on Saturday.
Something just isn't quite right here, can't exactly put my finger on it, but maybe you can? For playing a sport and kicking a ball around a field free of dog pooh, earn £300,000 a week wages. For nursing, cleaning, cooking, caring, driving, dressing, feeding, medicating, report writing, counselling, advocating, conducting personal care, dealing with challenging behaviours, ironing, entertaining, and generally taking responsibility for the health and well being of several people in an understaffed environment, reward of £7.10 per hour. Still, unlike Alan Pardew (Newcastle United manager), at least I don't have to worry about being fined £100,000 for the gross stupidity of headbutting a football player, which is just as well as that happens to be around 5 years worth of my salary.
Day of shame for Newcastle united manager Alan Pardew yesterday, after he head butted an opposing player. Much has been said about the incedent in the press already. Personally I think Pardew and his sidekick Carver should both be made to go on anger management courses. Also well done to Steve Bruce for not getting involved, would have just inflamed the situation even more.
