Once again, thanks to Jim Hannah for this superb page, it truly is such a privilege to see some of the historical photos which have been posted and Jim is to be commended for sharing them. We all know the Greatest Ever Rangers team, but here is one of my own, which is not intended to compete with, but to compliment the greatest XI. It's made from some of my favourites over the years; some may not have been around for long, some are unsung heroes, but they were special to me for a variety of reasons when I saw them playing in the famous jersey. Any other suggestions for an alternative XI? I've seen Rangers playing over 6 decades - so my team captures that period. So difficult to choose, as I have so many I would love to include but here goes. Stefan Klos, Alan Hutton, Majid Bougherra, Tam Forsyth, Gio Van Bronkhorst, Ronald de Boer, Alex MacDonald, Kerimoglu Tugay, Jorg Albertz, Jimmy Millar, Willie Johnston. Subs - Nikica Jelavic, Dave Smith, Sasa Papac, Marco Negri, Willie Henderson and Colin Stein. Mana ...
Paul Lambert has told Alan Hutton his Aston Villa career is OVER because of his mega-wages. Right-back Hutton has been forced to train with the youth team all season with no club taking him on loan. Hutton is understood to earn £40,000 a week and until next summer. Lambert has ditched a series of players including big-earners Darren Bent and Shay Given and insisted there is no bust-up with Hutton.

**Clark** Requisitioners: the facts Written & Posted by TheLawMan For Rangers Media Someone asked me to pull together a number of posts over the last two weeks to ensure that rather than hearsay, pure facts were distributed across the internet. I have taken a number of pieces I wrote and I have now removed ALL OPINIONS and left in only the true facts, all of which can be found at the various sources used. The one exception to this is the calculation of debt as at May 2011 which is explained below. In each case, I have posted actual statements from Paul Murray, Malcolm Murray and Scott Murdoch then looked at each statement with publicly available information. 1) PM on 28th November: “A football club is judged by the success on the pitch though they have to do it on a sustainable basis so if you look at the 2 main things that happened during that 4 year period I was on the Board, and I can’t claim credit for any other period, but, first of all it is a matter of public record the debt was £35 million wh ...
Thank you Alan Hutton for a memorable Part of the Art Civil Weaponry demonstration last night! The audience was 100% engaged and the public knows what we in the ED dept have known for years: Alan is a first rate speaker, and has ALL the cool toys. Weapons were cocked (and half-cocked), bullets were passes, and one excited 8-year old is excited to show the ways of hardtack today during share time. Thank you for a memorable evening. And to all: come see A Civil War Christmas at Main Street Theater - Houston now Extended through Dec 29!
We are winding down from the hectic but wonderful Dickens experience. I want to take a moment to thank everyone for a wonderful weekend. As always, the crew of the Isabella, you are amazing, and Mike Abernathy, you just keep getting better. Thank you. Nic Jorel, you never fail to bring a wonderful show, and Master "Bones" Jangle, god bless you for getting up there and entertaining those brave enough to endure some awful environmental conditions on Friday night. Greg Ayers, your set was awesome and it was wonderful to see you again! I also want to single out Amelia Ruth Thompson, Corey "tank" Jackson, Ms. Annie, Ms. Cathy, and the crew of the Airship Nox for braving the weather to help us out. You are invaluable. Alan Hutton and the event planners, none of what we do would be possible without your help and support. Thank you. And finally, a big huge heartfelt hug to all of you who braved the cold and rain (and for some of you, ice and snow) to make the trip to Galveston and then bundled up and ca ...

Clubcall: Villa boss Paul Lambert saw Scotland's goalless draw with United States on Friday amid speculation that Clint Dempsey is a loan target. Lambert, who has a home just outside Glasgow, was at Hampden Park for the friendly international that featured out-of-favour Villa full-back Alan Hutton. But, if he was hoping to evaluate Dempsey, he was left frustrated by the news that had broken on Thursday that the US captain would not be playing. The 30-year-old Seattle Sounders star picked up a calf injury in training, leaving US head coach Jurgen Klinsmann to field a less experienced side.-Tomco
Just read article about England performance again criticising Glen Johnson. I'm only a Mickey Mouse volunteer coach but I said as soon as Gary Neville jacked England that they would win nothing with Glen Johnson. He is a positional car crash. Why highly paid coaches persist with him is beyond me. Found out again last night by only half decent opposition. Can't wait do see what will happen to him if he plays in World Cup. Johnson provides no protection to centre backs, defends too wide, holds line terribly, gives himself too much to do by positioning high and wide when other team have ball, and gets caught in behind every time I've seen him. Roy Hodgson compounded his inefficiencies by playing without a recognised midfield anchor who could at least have plugged the gap that is Glen Johnson. Here is a statement .Alan Hutton is better!

Seventy-seven players from the Barclays Premier League were involved in qualifying action on behalf of European national sides last night, as Italy and the Netherlands became the first two European nations to reach next year's FIFA World Cup, and Germany edged closer to booking their safe passage to Brazil. Group A Despite already having seen their World Cup hopes go up in smoke Serbia and Scotland both recorded creditable victories against Wales and Macedonia respectively. Manchester City full-back Aleksandar Kolarov scored Serbia's second goal at Cardiff City Stadium in a 3-0 win over Chris Coleman's side, while seven players from the English top flight helped Scotland up to fourth place in the section, including Cardiff City goalkeeper David Marshall, who was substituted at half-time with a hip injury. I think Alan Hutton is the only big money flop. Craig Gordon was injured. Not sure who the others are?

DAVIE KIRKWOOD’S association with Rangers is long and tangible having been in at the beginning of the Souness Revolution and then a key man in the Murray Park Youth Academy. He made his Rangers debut on the day the Championship was presented on the final day of the incredible 1986/87 season when the Light Blues ended a nine-year wait for title glory. And he was later responsible for the development of Allan McGregor, Alan Hutton, Stevie Smith, Chris Burke and Ross McCormack. However, it’s another Rangers that dominate his life now – Brora – having taken over as boss last autumn in rather controversial circumstances. And he is relishing a visit from Ally McCoist’s side to Dudgeon Park on Sunday when Rangers play their first match of a busy pre-season campaign. Indeed, the manager of the Highland League side has good reason to feel confident after his team defeated Ross County 2-0 last Wednesday night. He said: “Any club in Britain would be excited by a visit from Rangers and we are no different ...
Darren Bent has returned to pre-season training at Aston Villa to discover he has been frozen out of the first‑team squad by Paul Lambert as Newcastle United look into offering the England international an escape route. Bent has been told to move out of the first-team dressing room at the training ground and ordered to train in a small group of outcasts alongside Stephen Ireland and Alan Hutton. He has also been informed he will not be considered for selection for any of the club’s pre-season friendlies and will not be included in any squads should he remain at Villa after the close of the summer transfer window. Aston Villa is rumored to be asking £8 million for Bent, which is double what Newcastle United have him valued as according to The Chronicle. Pete
Sevilla defender en route to Villa Park. Aston Villa are close to landing Sevilla full back Antonio Luna after the two clubs agreed a fee for the player, Sky Sports reports. According to reports in Spain the 22-year-old is due to fly into Birmingham this week for further talks and a medical as Paul Lambert attempts to press ahead with his squad overhaul by signing yet another little known young player. Luna spent last season on loan with Real Mallorca alongside fellow Villa full back Alan Hutton, but neither of the players could help prevent the club’s slide into the Segunda division. Hutton has since returned to the West Midlands and Luna now looks as though he could follow suit. Lambert will be looking to add more defensive options to his side with Eric Lichaj leaving the club last week and Irish left back Enda Stevens also being told that he can find a new club. Should Luna sign this week he will become Villa’s fourth signing of an already busy summer transfer window, with Lambert having already sn ...

Ignazio Abate, channeling some Philipp Lahm early on in this one. Meanwhile, Schalke's RB Marco Hoger channels Alan Hutton.
Charles Green gets a lot of stick from the dhims. But is it well deserved? He said he would make £20Million, he made £22 Million from Investors. He could make a further £1.5Million + from a Stadium name rights deal. Has stuck by his promises to fans and listened to them. Tied down contracts with bright young stars securing there future for the journey back to the top. Took the SFA to court about the transfer embargo, and made them look like *** when it was ruled unlawful. Secured a youth development programme with Juventus. Now, in all seriousness, I will admit he can speak out of turn at times, but really, is he a laughing stock as you tims make out? Doesn't look like it. All this done in less than a year, for a 3rd Division side. Stu/Rfc
Fun kick about with my great husband Alan Hutton

Alan Hutton playing in La Liga still makes me queezy.
CONTENTED Danny Rose has once again hinted at his desire to turn his Sunderland stay into a permanent move in the summer. Despite Andre Villas-Boas insisting a summer switch is “impossible” for the highly-rated defender, the Black Cats are understood to have made the Leeds-born player one of their top close-season targets. The club are braced for a saga though, with Tottenham always likely to try and extract maximum value when they are selling young, English players. They may look for upwards of £6million for the left-back, and Sunderland know from their dealings with Spurs over Alan Hutton that it may prove difficult to do business on their own terms. Sunderland wanted to sign Scot Hutton after a successful loan period but were quoted £8million, at which point they walked away from the deal. Rose himself couldn’t be happier at Sunderland, insisting it is a major disappointment that he only has three more months of his loan left. In a major boost for the Black Cats’ hopes of landing him, he also ...
I wonder how Alan Hutton is going to fare in Spain. It's not every day a British player goes to play in La Liga.

Seen Neymar play 10 times for Brazil now and the most impressive thing he's done is beat Alan Hutton of Scotland for pace
IN & OUTS EPL 2013 January Tranfer window & verdict :- Arsenal- INS: Daniel Boateng (Oxford United, undisclosed), Nacho Monreal (Malaga, undisclosed) OUTS: Marouane Chamakh (West Ham, loan), Johan Djourou (Hannover, loan), Emmanuel Frimpong (Fulham, loan) The Lowdown: Given Arsene Wenger's renowned reluctance to sign players in January, Arsenal fans should be delighted that they managed to snap up the steady Monreal as a replacement for the injured Kieran Gibbs, rather than let Andre Santos try to hold the fort at left-back. However, the Gunners still look lightweight in the middle with Abou Diaby still not impressing as a midfield enforcer so far and it remains to be seen if they have enough quality to push for a Champions League spot at the end of the season. Verdict: Wenger has fixed a problem with an excellent signing, but is still a few players away from making Arsenal a truly world-class team. Aston Villa- INS: Yacouba Sylla (Clermont, undisclosed), Simon Dawkins (Tottenham, loan) OUTS: Alan Hutton ...
Gordon Strachan has named a 28-player squad for his first match as Scotland National Coach. Gordon said: "I've named a big squad for this match because I feel that it's important to get as many of the players together as possible ahead of my first match as national coach. "I want to have a strong squad for the match against Estonia, which will help us to prepare for the World Cup qualifying double-header against Wales and Serbia in March. Whats happened to Alan Hutton used to be decent! Saw him tear brazil up for scotland once! Was he smashing the t5's?
Spanish football expert Andy West tells BBC Sport: "It's still very quiet in Spain. Without being disrespectful to Alan Hutton, when his loan switch from Aston Villa to Mallorca is one of the biggest deals of the day, you know there's not a lot going on. One possible move involves Barcelona's reserve team striker Rodri, who has been tipped to end his disappointing loan spell at Sheffield Wednesday and join Real Zaragoza until the end of the season. But the majority of the Spanish media's sports coverage is dominated by tomorrow evening's Clasico, which will see Barcelona travel to the Bernabeu for the first leg of their Copa del Rey semi-final against Real Madrid. Certainly it will be fascinating to witness another clash between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, who are both on top form. Ronaldo scored a hat-trick against Getafe on Sunday, only for Messi to trump him by netting four against Osasuna a few hours later."

QPR AND VILLA FACE BATTLE OF BOTTLE Will Paul Lambert allow the transfer deadline to fall without adding any experience to his Aston Villa squad? QPR, propping up the table, are just five points behind the Villans and doing everything to help Harry Redknapp bring in fresh faces. Redknapp is going with experienced know- how, Lambert is backing his kids. And if it comes to a battle of bottle, Redknapp's warriors are sure to hold their nerve better than Lambert's rookies.

Just think back to the 12th of October. The time was 21:10, Wales were 1-0 against a poor Scotland side. The Canton was trying to stur the team on, nothing seemed like happening, fans started to shout 'Coleman Out', few fans even began to leave. It was starting to become reality that it was another defeat, no goals, and it seemed to be the end of of our qualification campaign, but then something changed. Gareth Bale picked up the ball, he beat Alan Hutton, and stormed to the 18 yard box, as he was about to strike the ball, and got brought down by Shaun Maloney, Aaron Ramsey picked up the ball, but an unconfident, and underfiring Aaron Ramsey, a few cries by the Welsh fans calling for Bale, he then took the ball, and scored, the crowd went wild, everyone was bouncing, but nothing could prepare me for the overwhelming excitement i was about to have. 89 MINUTES ON THE CLOCK, 1-1 draw seemed fair, and the right step, but then the Outstanding Gareth Bale picked up the ball after a quick pass by David Vaughan, ...
