It has been a storyline which gripped the nation, hapless Tyrone Dobbs being abused by his scheming wife Kirsty until he is forced to flee the cobbles to escape the police. This week Coronation Street audiences will see Tyrone, played by Alan Halsall, arrested by police after lover Fiz Stape, played by Jenny McAlpine, tips off officers. The grandson of late Coronation Street legend Bill Tarmey has landed a cameo on the soap. Matt Piddington will appear on screen next month as a customer in the Rovers Return, fulfilling his promise to Tarmey that he would pursue an acting career. Tarmey, who played Jack Duckworth for over three decades, passed away in November last year at the age of 71. Piddington told the Sunday Mirror: "It would have been great if me & Grandad could have been in the Rovers at the same time but I know he was looking down from heaven smiling. I could feel he was with me saying, 'Go on lad I am so proud of you'. I had nerves but they felt like good nerves. I ­remembered all Grandad's ­advice, like, 'Less is more' & 'It's all in the eyes'. Coronation Street's Tyrone Dobbs is sent to prison later this month after his plan to kidnap baby Ruby ends in failure. Upcoming episodes see Tyrone (Alan Halsall) *** his young daughter, before fleeing Weatherfield with girlfriend Fiz Stape and her own child Hope. Tyrone and Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) initially hide out in Wales while they ponder their next move, eventually agreeing that they should get out of the UK as soon as possible. As the troubled pair need help to make this happen, they contact Chesney and ask him to bring them some cash and their passports. Unfortunately, it's not long before the police track down the runaways, and things get even worse for Tyrone as he is arrested on suspicion of child abduction. At the police station, Fiz is released with a caution when Tyrone protects her, insisting that the abduction was all his idea. Tyrone is currently plotting to marry Kirsty (Natalie Gumede) to finally secure parental rights over their baby daughter Ruby, hoping that he can finally escape his abusive partner after the ceremony. Coronation Street's Alan Halsall has had his car stolen from his driveway. The soap actor, who plays Weatherfield mechanic Tyrone Dobbs, awoke at his Manchester home to discover his Range Rover Sport had been driven away. The culprits managed to enter the vehicle without sounding the alarm. Greater Manchester Police confirmed the theft had been reported. An insider told the Daily Star: "He was fuming, especially as it means they must have been sniffing around his house." Some people are just sick & have no shame or morals!!
