: Dharma Productions and Phantom Productions’ Hasee Toh Phasee is a love story. Nikhil (Sidharth Malhotra) is a happy-go-lucky guy. falls in love with Karishma (Adah Sharma) who is the daughter of Devesh (Manoj Joshi), a well-to-do businessman. Karishma’s estranged sister, Meeta (Parineeti Chopra), who had, seven years ago, run away from home after stealing jewellery to fund her education, also lands up at the time of the wedding celebrations. Karishma asks Nikhil to take care of Meeta so that her family does not get to know that she is around. He develops a fondness for her and Meeta also falls in love with Nikhil. What happen with Nikhil and Meeta and Karishma is the further story concept. Harshavardhan Kulkarni’s story and screenplay are interesting and engaging, and the best thing about the drama is that it is quite unpredictable. The good part of the screenplay is how Nikhil realises the true side of Meeta and how the character of Meeta unfolds till the audience wants to literally embrace her a ...
Hasee Toh Phasee I was really curious about this movie as the promos looked intriguing, so I went and saw it today. And quite enjoyed myself. Nikhil--Siddhart Malhotra--is a romantic who is totally committed to his girlfriend of 7 years and is perpetually proving himself to her. 'Her' is Karishma--Adah Sharma--a movie actress who cares for him but thinks he's a bit of a loser who needs constant goading to do well in life. Her father shares her opinion. Meeta--Parineeti Chopra--is the geeky sister who has run away from home 7 years ago and brought disgrace upon herself and her family. A week before the wedding, Meeta returns home causing utter chaos and sparks to fly in all directions! Karishma wants to hide her from the rest of the family to avoid any unpleasant situations. Nikhil feels sorry for her, protective of her and attracted to her. Meeta is unapologetic about everything and just wants to meet her beloved 'pappa' once again. This leads to a whole lot of tragicomic scenarios, laughter, tears and fu ...
Read Hasee Toh Phasee Movie Review Toh Phasee is a love story. But this film is nothing close to a cliché. The film is packed with chaos, drama and ample laughs. And its USP lies in the vibe and chemistry that the lead actors share, making it likable and a very attractive young romance. The unpredictable and bizarre, Meeta (Parineeti Chopra), is a free spirited girl and a total misfit in her rich, conservative Gujarati family, which is why most dislike her. She’s compulsively rational and suppresses her emotions to the point where it drives her close to crazy. But things change when she meets Nikhil (Sidharth Malhotra). He brings about a balance that helps release her pent-up feelings revealing her humane side. Nikhil too, who’s in an unsatisfying relationship with fiancé Karishma (Adah Sharma), finally finds himself in a happy, peaceful space around Meeta. Vinil Mathew deserves applaud for making such an enjoyable first film. Though the script is weak in parts, the movie has enough moments to make ...
Hasee Toh Phasee is a nice movie. Parineeti Chopra is great as Meeta. Her acting was nice in the first half. Sidharth Malhotra and Adah Sharma were nice. Watch if you have time.must watch
(Sidharth Malhotra) is all set to marry Karishma (Adah Sharma). During numerous ceremonies which occur in a usual traditional Marriage meets Meeta (Parineeti Chopra). And what revolves around is scientific love comedy. Director Vinil Mathew quite clearly knows his limitations and flaws in his script. What he presents is an assembled computer of branded accessories. Story is nothing new but the manner this is presented makes you like it. (Sometimes presentation really helps) The most strong point of is its lead pair who indulge you so well that you feel you are a part of this joyride. Both Sidharth & Parineeti play their role with well command and make you laugh along. Director makes it an interesting love chemistry by not boring us with predictable sequences. Movie though could have been served by a better music and a little bit story could have been altered. Anyways, its an interesting film and i assure you will like it. I am going with 3.5/5 for I had no expectations from this but it surprised me alot. ...
This Week's Review: "Hasee Toh Phasee".Star Cast: Siddharth Malhotra,Parineeti Chopra,Manoj Joshi,Adah Sharma,Sharat Saxena.Music: Vishal-Shekhar...Lyrics-Amitabh Bhattacharya & Kumaar...Director-Vinil Mathew. Sorry to say but not so good movie except the acting of Parineeti Chopra(Meeta)...its a interesting first half as u get to see a full fun filled character Meeta(Parineeti) deliver some quirky scenes which brings laughter amongst the audience...Nikhil (Siddharth Malhotra) is a committed -confused ghar jamai types being a total freak in his choice of life with his actress fiancee Karishma( Adah Sharma)... his family is quite unique as they create a laugh riot whenever on screen especially his father retired IPS officer played by Sharat Saxena...there are moments of emotions going high n typical rona-dhona but its gullible...but the whole movie is carried by Parineeti alone by her isolated, depressed, psycho & all together weird character of a PhD holder *** scientist stealing money from her own house ...
Movie Review: Hasee Toh Phasee Cast: Parineeti Chopra, Sidharth Malhotra, Adah Sharma, Manoj Joshi, Sharat Saxena, Neena Kulkarni Director : Vinil Mathew Batty girl meets sweet fellow. Is it cute? Yes, that first ‘mulaqaat’ is. And then? Then ‘Hasee Toh Phasee’ wanders about figuring out whether it wants to be a contemporary rom com, or a Gujju soap, or a 60s melodrama, or all of the above. This confusion confounds the film, fronted by the most talented female lead working in Bollywood right now, and makes her much less fun than she can be. And that holds true for the film, too. It is most exasperating, because ‘Hasee Toh Phasee’ seems to have everything going for it. The smart, varying sensibilities of co-producers Karan Johar and Anurag Kashyap, a likeable leading man, and a crackerjack heroine. What it doesn’t have is a coherent story, and that’s why none of the refreshing bits add up. Meeta (Parineeti Chopra) is the kind of girl who uses her mind to invent things. Gasp. Mind, in a Boll ...
Hasee Toh Phasee... A typical feel good love story & a family entertainer... This movie has a solid story (from Harshavardhan Kulkarni), superb flow, considerable acting performances & entertainment for a wide range of audience... Songs like Drama Queen & Zehnaseeb are pleasant listening experience... Parineeti Chopra is at her very best by easily filling many shades in her character... Adah Sharma does full justice to her role & at the same time looks ravishing… & still most mentionable is Mr. Sidharth Malhotra... who effortlessly fits in his ‘always cool dude’ character... at the same time he appears as an eye candy for the all female viewers... & for male viewers, a role model to have, when physique & attitude is concerned... Direction from debutant Vinil Mathew is really good… Many small characters in movie are also plotted really well & provide ample entertainment… A feel good watch… Just go for it… :) :) :) :)
Movie Review - Hasee Toh Phasee A movie prior to the Valentine Week – one would think it to be a distinctive take on love and romance, Looking at the concept , which comes from the two polar opposites in terms of cinematic sensibilities -- Dharma [Karan Johar] and Phantom [Anurag Kashyap, Vikramaditya Motwane, Vikas Bahl] -- join hands and produce a project, First, the plot! Hasee Toh Phasee is about the rebellious Meeta [Parineeti Chopra] and the mischievous Nikhil [Sidharth Malhotra], who are struggling to fit into their respective families. Nikhil bumps into Meeta on the occasion of her sister Diksha's wedding and falls in love with her other sister Karishma [Adah Sharma]. Years later, Nikhil and Karishma are busy with their pre-wedding celebrations. Meeta returns to Mumbai after being away from home for years [only Karishma is aware that she's back!]. Karishma asks Nikhil to find her an accommodation, away from her family. Not happy with the accommodation that a contact has set up for Meeta, Nikhi . ...
Hasee Toh Phasee (Hindi): The Karan and Kashyap Combo return with another love story after the 2013 charmer 'The Lunchbox', which is quite fresh and has its heart at the right place. However the problem with the film is that it's structure is quite draggy in the initial 30 minutes, despite few laughs and then the film picks up well till the end. Then there is a bit of melodrama which hampers the pace in the second half. But apart from these, the film scores because of its brilliant characters where the lead Siddharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra are simply brilliant and their character development has been shown well. Manoj Joshi and Sharat Saxena are simply riveting and convincing. Adah Sharma is sweet. Screenplay by Harshwardhan Kulkarni has good development graph, despite few cliches. The dialogues by Vinil, Harshvardhan Kulkarni and Anurag Kashyap are crackling and great. Music score by Vishal-Shekhar compliments the narrative. Camerawork by Sanu John Varghese is great as he revisits his 'Vishwaroopa ...
