Abu Bakr & Sunni Islam

Abu Bakr (Abdullah ibn Abi Quhafa) (c. 573 CE - 634 CE) also known as Abū Bakr as-Șiddīq (Arabic: أبو بكر الصديق) was a senior companion (Sahabi) and the father-in-law of the Islamic prophet Muhammad. Sunni Islam (or ) is the largest branch of Islam and are referred to in Arabic as ʾAhlu-s-Sunnati wa-l-Jamāʿah , people of the tradition of Muhammad and the consensus of the Ummah or ʾAhlu-s-Sunnah . 4.7/5

Middle East News: The Arab Spring has already deposed leaders like Zine El Abidine Bin Ali of Tunisia, Hosni Mubarak in Egypt, and Muammar Gaddafi in Libya. Syria's Bashar al-Assad is tenaciously holding on to power while rebels continue to fight for control of the country. The Islamic State (of Iraq and Syria), under nominal control of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, challenges the very concept of statehood. They intend to install a new caliphate across the entire region. In short, Southwest Asia is an absolute mess. Now this . . . The government of Yemen, which had the full support of the United States government, has fled in the face of a rival Shia Houthi insurgency. (Most of the Arabian Peninsula follows Sunni Islam.) Western states like France fear a new failed state, one where chaos reigns and Islamic terrorism is exported, much like the Charlie Hebdo attacks in Paris. Add to this mix the just-announced death of Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah and one can find the world's most problematic political geography .. ...
(Video): [9/4/2014] This Former Muslim Just Sent Obama A Wake Up Call On ISIS That Is An Absolute Must-See... Brother Rachid, a former Muslim and the son of a Moroccan imam, has posted a video called “A Message to President Obama From a Former Muslim” in which he attempts to give the President a crash course in Islamic studies. He begins by telling the president that he is wrong when he said that ISIL speaks for no religion. “I can tell you with confidence that ISIL speaks for Islam. ISIL is a Muslim organization.” Brother Rachid tells Obama that ISIL’s leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, holds a PhD in Islamic studies and, therefore, knows more about Islam than Obama does. There are 10,000 members in ISIL who are all Muslims and come from different countries, with Islam being the common denominator. “They implement Sharia in every piece of land they conquer. They pray five times a day. They have called for a Caliphate which is a central doctrine in Sunni Islam and they are willing to die for t ...
Today's effort into peaceful coexistance and greater understanding is focused on the two major sects of islam which number well over 1 billion worldwide. Before we begin let me state that this is to convey information not to place a judgement on others faith and that no slights are intended if you notice words or phrases outside of the customery usage as I am simply unfamiliar with it's usage. The two sects of Islam are Sunni and Shiite. Sunni Islam is the largest denomination. Sunni historical roots have them following Abu Bakr, Muhammad's successor instead of Muhammad's son in law Ali. The Sunni take their name because they believe that they follow the sunnah or "custom" of the prophet. The Shiite follow Ali, the closest relative of Muhammad the prophet as Muhammads successor. The Sunnah or Sunnis name means "well throdden path" or "tradition". There are approximately 940 million Sunni who are 90% of all muslims. They have no subsects. They trace their origins to 632 CE with major theological develoment ...
♋ Question time... The Prophet (saw) said "Who ever angers Fatima (s.a), has angered me and whom soever has angered me has angered Allah (swt)". In Islam it is not permitted to be angry with a muslim for more then three days. According to Bukhari whom has narrated the incident of Fadak, whom did she die angry with? 1) Talha 2) Marwan 3) Abu Bakr
The division between Shia and Sunni dates back to the death of the Prophet Muhammad, and the question of who was to take over the leadership of the Muslim nation. Sunni Muslims agree with the position taken by many of the Prophet's companions, that the new leader should be elected from among those capable of the job. This is what was done, and the Prophet Muhammad's close friend and advisor, Abu Bakr, became the first Caliph of the Islamic nation. The word "Sunni" in Arabic comes from a word meaning "one who follows the traditions of the Prophet." On the other hand, some Muslims share the belief that leadership should have stayed within the Prophet's own family, among those specifically appointed by him, or among Imams appointed by God Himself. The Shia Muslims believe that following the Prophet Muhammad's death, leadership should have passed directly to his cousin/son-in-law, Ali bin Abu Talib. Throughout history, Shia Muslims have not recognized the authority of elected Muslim leaders, choosing instead ...
Who was Umm Kulthum the wife of Umar? The Sunnis, it an attempt to cover up the crimes committed by Umar Bin Khattab, concocted the story of Umm Kulthum binte Ali's marriage to Umar so that whenever anybody mentions Umar's dark role in history (setting fire to Fatima and Ali's house, demanding allegiance for Abu Bakr, etc), the standard reply could be, "Oh, had all that been true, why did Ali give his daughter in marriage to Umar?" Let's find out the truth. Fact 1 - * Sunni Historical evidence shows that the marriage of Umm Kulthum and Umar took place in the year 17 Hijri when Umm Kulthum was 4 or 5 years of age. This would put her date of birth to 12 or 13 Hijri. Sunni references : - History of Abul Fida, vol I p 171 - al Farooq by Shibli Numani, vol II p 539 * Historical evidences show that Hazrat Fatima (May Allah bless her) passed away 6 month after the demise of her father, and thus her date of death was in the year 11 Hijri, and that her daughter Umm Kulthum was born in the year 9 Hijri. Sunni refer ...
Abu Bakr himself admits His mistakes done to Fatima Zahra (AS) by Sunni Sources
Umar & Abu Bakar's plot to kill Imam Ali (a.s.) When Fadak was forcefully usurped from Fatemah Zahra (s.a.) by the first oppressor Abu Bakr, the infallible daughter of Holy Prophet (s.a.) ordered that curtains should be put up inside the mosque. Following which, Janabe Zahra (s.a.) entered the mosque and gave an articulate and coherent sermon. First, she (a.s.) averred the Oneness of Allah the Almighty then she spoke about Islam and its laws after which she (s.a.) started to converse on the issue of Fadak. She (s.a.) said: “Every one is fully aware that Fadak was gifted to me by my respected father (s.a.w.a.) and it was under my possession. Therefore, on what premises has the government confiscated it?” After her speech, Abu Bakr retorted, “We want you prove to us by producing witnesses that what you claim [that Fadak was gifted to you by The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.a.)]” Ironically, in the light of Islamic laws, it is Abu Bakr who should have put forward evidence for claiming Fadak from Fatemah ...
