Bosso Hardest Hit In Transfer Merry-Go-Round By Ranganai Dzotizei The transfer merry-go-round is revolving and Premiership side Highlanders look the hardest hit and a couple of their top players are leaving for South African clubs. The month of June only signals the time clubs take in new material and do away with those deemed excess baggage and the Zimbabwean market has proved to be a great market for South Africans as they have used their rands wisely to tap in the talent abundant in the local Premiership. The most hit club when it comes to pending transfers happens to be Highlanders surprisingly as they stand to lose over five players to the Absa Premiership, which signals a deviation from the normal where Dynamos used to be the main target for South African clubs. Mpumalanga Black Aces have bagged midfielder Peter Moyo (two-year contract) while Munyaradzi Diya could join him once negotiations come to fruition. Milton Ncube is heading to Ajax Cape Town for two seasons while posterboy Kuda Mahachi is go ...
Orlando Pirates midfielder Thabo Rakhale is a wanted man, according to the player's agent Mandla Mthembu, who spoke exclusively to Goal Rakhale spent this past season on loan at Absa Premiership side Polokwane City, where he made 28 appearances, scoring twice in all competitions for Rise and Shine. "We are aware of interest from other PSL teams. It's not surprising, as Thabo did well at City last season. However, he belongs to Pirates," Mthembu told Goal. Goal understands that City are keen to retain the 24-year-old winger from Bucs' services, while Absa Premiership outfit Free State Stars are also eyeing the former Sivutsa Stars player. "We have informed the teams that have made enquiries about him to contact Pirates directly. He's still contracted to them, and as things stand Thabo is going back to Pirates," he concluded. Before signing for Pirates in 2012, Rakhale was also on the wanted list of PSL giants Mamelodi Sundowns, but the Buccaneers beat Downs for his services. The Sebokeng-born midfielder wa ...
Local MAHEVHEHEVHE (Rumours) & More Updates (PSL & NFD) ● Orlando Pirates have stepped up their efforts to sign Mpumalanga Black Aces striker Tendai Ndoro. The Zimbabwean international is hot property after a stellar first few monthsNin the Absa Premiership. “Pirates are very interested; Ndoro remains their top target for next season,” source at Parktown says. ● Orlando Pirates midfielder, Thandani Ntshumayelo, is not worried about speculation that he could leave Bucs this season, insisting that his future is with Pirates. The 24-year-old midfielder has been subject of a speculation linking him with a move to Ajax Cape Town as part of a swap deal that would see him and fellow Bucs midfielder, Manti Moholo, going to the Urban Warriors, with Ajax’s Keagan Dolly moving in the opposite direction. ● Former Mamelodi Sundowns star, Manqoba ‘Shakes’ Ngwenya, who has been plying his trade for Township Rollers, says he's impressed with the standard of football in Botswana. ● Orlando Pirates are re ...

This coming Absa Premiership season is a bit unfair. No team is starting at +6 points, all thanks to Golden Arrows relegation.
The Premier Soccer League will be conducting a draw of next season’s Absa Premiership fixtures. With the season expected to start sometime in August, it seems the league officials are already in preparation mode trying to set everything up for what promises to be another exciting season. Among the fixture dates everyone will be having their eye on is both legs of the Soweto derby between Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates; a game which attracts thousands to the FNB Stadium and often divides families and friendships. The teams remain as they were in the 2013/14 campaign, except for Chippa United who have made it back to the elite ranks, replacing relegated Golden Arrows. Mamelodi Sundowns will be wrestling to keep the title at Chloorkop next season, while a lot of the teams will be bolstering their squads ahead of the campaign. The draw will take place on Thursday at the PSL offices in Parktown. Absa Premier Soccer League Teams For 2014/2014: - AmaZulu FC - Ajax Cape Town - Bloemfontein Celtic - Chippa Un ...
Kaizer Chiefs head coach, Stuart Baxter, has admitted that there will be changes at Naturena, with a new attacker their number one priority. Despite featuring in six different competitions last season, the Amakhosi finished their 2013/14 campaign without a single piece of silverware, narrowly missing out on the PSL title by two points to Mamelodi Sundowns. With the 2014/15 season now just around the corner, there has been a lot said about possible incomings and outgoings at the club ahead of the new campaign. Baxter, who won the Absa Premiership and Nedbank Cup in his first season with Chiefs, has now explained that there will be some players leaving and some players coming in. Speaking to Chiefs’ official website while holidaying overseas he said, "There will be player movements where we think some players will be better served by moving to other teams. There will also be an opportunity created to promote some of the players from the development. We need strengthening in the attacking force where we mi ...

AmaZayoni finished in incredible 7th place on the Absa Premiership table, in what was their first season in the PSL. THE International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) has finally put to bed the raging debate on which is the better soccer league between the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League and the Absa Premiership of South Africa. The IFFHS is an organisation that chronicles the history and records of national football associations basing on all national championship, cup competitions and inter-continental club competitions. They then produce Club World rankings. In its latest rankings of the Strongest National League in the World released yesterday, the IFFHS put the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League on position 67 in the world, 14 places better than the well-sponsored and much publicised Super Diski. The PSL is ranked eighth on the continent with 300,5 points while South Africa’s league is on 11th position with 260,0 points. South Africa share this position with Qatar league, which is equally lucrative.

It is common amongst footballers that one undergoes a slump in form, and spends some minutes on the sidelines or even in the stands, while trying to regain that form. But more-so it is rare for a central midfielder not to go through a slump, show weariness or show any form of complacency for three-consecutive seasons. When Ruud Krol arrived at Orlando Pirates to take over from Owen Da Gama in July 2008, Manyisa had just joined the season earlier. According to Transfermarkt.com he arrived from the Africa Sport Academy on 1 July 2007, but did not feature for the entire 2007/08 campaign. For the then 20-year-old, it was always going to be difficult to get game time in only his first season with the Buccaneers. Pirates had a household of quality midfielders on their books at the time, including Joseph Makhanya, Lebohang Mokoena, Bennett Chenene, Teko Modise, Dikgang Mabalane and Josephy Kamwendo, while Mlungisi Gumbi (Mdluli), Lebo Mothibantwa and Benson Mhlongo were all still Manyisa’s direct competition. ...

Bafana Bafana coach Gordon Igesund has been forced to name a makeshift side for the national team's tour of Australia and New Zealand after 11 players withdrew from the squad. The best buys of the Premiership season THE transfer market can be pretty hit or miss, but here is our list of the best buys from the 2013-14 PSL season. Richard Henyekane (Free State Stars): It is probably fair to say that Free State Stars would not have stayed in the Absa Premiership were it not for the goals of Henyekane, brought in on loan from Mamelodi Sundowns in January. He scored seven times, with those goals amassing eight precious points for Ea Lla Koto. Anssi Jaakkola (Ajax Cape Town): Jaakkola has been a revelation since arriving at Ajax and was the likely difference between safety and a real relegation scrap this campaign, winning his nomination for Goalkeeper of the Season at last night’s (SUNDAY) PSL awards. Coach Roger de Sa believes he was worth “at least 12 extra points” to the team. Frank Mhango (Bloemfontein Celtic): The Malawian international was not picked up after trials at AmaZulu, but proved that to be a monumental mistake as he scored nine goals in 14 starts at Bloemfontein ...

Komphela joined the Team of Choice in January and steered the club to a 10th place finish, their highest ever in the Absa Premiership. The former Bafana Bafana international also led the KwaZulu-Natal based outfit to the semifinals of the Nedbank Cup where they went down 2-1 to Orlando Pirates. “Steve is still our coach, he has two years left in his contract with us so I don’t see how he can sign with another club,” Jettoo said. “He’d have to speak to the club if he intends to break his contract and we’ve had no such discussion. “From our side, we want to start making plans for next season but at the moment there is nothing to report regarding coaching changes.” The Chilli Boys have already parted ways with coach Vladislav Heric, who had replaced Ian Palmer in January.

The best we can do for ourselves is forget about all the finals we have played this season and focus all our attention on this weekend," said Vermezovic, when asked for his thoughts on the Buccaneers’ defeat against Al Ahly in the Caf Champions League, and back-to-back losses to Platinum Stars in the MTN8 and Telkom Knockout. "It’s not always about those game. That isn’t everything. I understand these guys a little bit more now than before. I have already given out a plan to the management about our preseason and our next actions in the coming months. I will also give them a report and sit down with the chairman (Irv ...

'Chiefs will bounce back next season' - Motaung Published: Tuesday, 2014/05/13 Kaizer Chiefs will bounce back next season. That was the view of Amakhosi football manager Bobby Motaung. Speaking yesterday in the aftermath of losing both the Absa Premiership and Nedbank Cup titles this season, Motaung promised their fans that Chiefs would regroup ahead of next season. Motaung was also one of the first to congratulate new champions Mamelodi Sundowns, who pushed Chiefs into second place and won the championship with 65 points - two better than defending champs Amakhosi. Said Motaung: “I wish Sundowns all the best.” The Chiefs boss said they were not emotional after losing out on silverware this term. Said Motaung: “We will sit down with the coaches and analyse the season thoroughly. We will regroup, revisit and come up with solutions. “We lost the league by two points. It was not a bad season but in the end we did not have a trophy and that was disappointing. But I must commend my players, who did re ...
COACHES (Development) CORNER! Mamelodi Sundowns winning the Absa Premier Soccer League title can be misleading to many people taking into consideration that Pitso Mosimane rely on tried-and-tested players to win the league championship. This can be dangerous as other teams might as well follow on their strategy to recall "OLD HORSES TO RUN THE RACE and neglect youngsters. Youngsters are no longer valued by coaches especially the so called BIG clubs because they have been told to win the league. The question is: When these youngsters are going to play if coaches ignored them and made them to rot-on-the-bench-and-stand. Are they going to be loaned to those small teams - like Sundowns did with many youngsters at the beginning of the season to paved way for those tried-and-tested players. The truth is that, the money that Sundowns spend to buy those players is more than the Absa Premiership prize money. THIS IS MY PERSONAL OPINION:
Thanks to you all for turning up at the Makhulong Stadium on Sunday to support our quest to get back into the Absa Premiership..your...

Mamelodi Sundowns snatches premiership victory. Sundowns claimed the 2014 Absa Premiership this past Saturday...
PSL Twenty-three goals were scored in eight games on the final day of the Absa Premiership season on Saturday. With champions, Mamelodi Sundowns, already decided after the mid-week game, much of the interest was focused on top eight positions and who would be in the relegation play-offs. Sundowns came up against a spirited Maritzburg United at the Harry Gwala Stadium, and needed an injury team goal from captain Alje Schut to rescue a 1-1 draw after Heinrich Isaacks had given the Team of Choice an early lead. Second-placed Kaizer Chiefs ended their season with an emphatic 3-0 win over AmaZulu, third-placed Wits won 1-0 away at sixth-placed Bloemfontein Celtic, and Orlando Pirates made sure of a fourth-place finish with a 3-1 win over already-relegated Golden Arrows. Supersport United jumped to fifth with a 4-2 win over Polokwane City, who dropped into the play-off spot, after being leap-frogged by Free State Stars who beat Moroka Swallows 3-0. Mpumalanga Black Aces dropped to seventh after they lost 1-0 t ...

A late strike by substitute Calvin Kadi gave Bidvest Wits a 1-0 win away at Bloemfontein Celtic in their final Absa Premiership match of the 2013/14 season. Teams: Kaizer Chiefs 3-0 AmaZulu Date: 10 May 2014 Venue: Peter Mokaba Stadium Kaizer Chiefs ended their Absa Premiership season on a high after beating AmaZulu 3-0 in a league match at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The result sees Chiefs finish in second place on the table, a point behind league winners Mamelodi Sundowns, while AmaZulu finished the season in ninth. The Amakhosi started the better of the two teams and opened the scoring in the 12th minute through Kingston Nkhatha. The Zimbabwean international cut into the box from the right flank, but saw his initial shot saved by the keeper. Nkhatha, though, was quick to pounce on the rebound when he saw his shot deflect off a defender and into the goal from a couple of yards out, 1-0. The next decent effort on goal came just before the half hour mark when Reneilwe Letsholonyane tried his luck from 24-yards out, but he saw his low effort well-saved by the keeper. The Amakhosi continued to apply the pressure and were rewarded with their ...

Those who follow soccer intimately will remember what I once wrote on Soccer Laduma, about Kaizer Chiefs standing a very good chance of losing both the Absa Premiership crown and the Nedbank Cup altogether for treating the Confederation Cup with contempt. Bidvest Wits condemned us to a humiliating penalty shootout defeat, which leaves me with a big question; Was Kaizer Chiefs winning double last season a fluke?
Bidvest Wits and Orlando Pirates played out to a 0-0 draw in their Absa Premiership match on Wednesday evening at Bidvest Stadium.
IT’S now win at all cost for Kaizer Chiefs! This is the attitude ahead of their crunch Absa Premiership showdown against struggling Free State Stars at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane tomorrow night (7.30pm). Chiefs, with three matches to play, have 56 points - five behind leaders, Mamelodi Sundowns, who have two matches remaining. Chiefs head coach Stuart Baxter believes it’s a win or bust game. “This is the big one as far as we are concerned,” Baxter told SunSport. “If we lose we can virtually kiss the title goodbye.” Amakhosi can now focus all their energies on retaining their league and Nedbank Cup titles after they were knocked out of the Caf Confederation Cup at the weekend, losing 1-0 in their play-off round, second leg tie to Asec Mimosas in Abidjan, Ivory Coast. They lost 3-1 on aggregate. Amakhosi play Bidvest Wits in the cup semifinal at Milpark on Saturday. Orlando Pirates 1-1 Platinum Stars: Bucs drop more points Orlando Pirates were held to a 1-1 draw by Platinum Stars in an Absa Premiership clash played at Orlando Stadium on Saturday afternoon Orlando Pirates were out to make it a league double over Platinum Stars, while their visitors on the day were looking to bounce back from a shocking 4-1 defeat to bottom placed Lamontville Golden Arrows. The home side saw more of the ball in the opening stages. Bucs speedy winger Tlou Segolela forced a corner-kick in the fifth minute, which was easily dealt with by the Stars defence. The former Bafana Bafana player got the first shot on goal from 20-yards out in the 11th minute, but his attempt was deflected out for a corner-kick. Two minutes later, Stars forward Mogakolodi Ngele fired a 25-yard free-kick, which went straight at Bucs goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa who easily saved it. Pirates continued to dominate ball possession. However, Bucs were not creating obvious goalscoring opportunities in the final third as the S ...

CHIEFS’ TRICKY ASSIGNMENT! Published: Wednesday, 2014/04/23 STAND up and be counted! That was the message that Kaizer Chiefs head coach Stuart Baxter delivered to his players yesterday, ahead of their tricky Absa Premiership clash with Bidvest Wits at Milpark Stadium tonight (7.30pm). Baxter said their four remaining Premiership matches - starting with the showdown against third-placed Wits - will all be cup finals. Said Baxter: “We have four cup finals to play. Every game will be vital. We have to be prepared for some tough battles. I have told the players we can expect no favours.” Mamelodi Sundowns head the standings with 61 points with two games to play, followed by Chiefs on 55 and Wits on 51. Both Amakhosi and the Students have two matches in hand. Mamelodi Sundowns drew level on points with log leaders Kaizer Chiefs after a hard fought 1-0 victory in their Absa Premiership encounter at the FNB stadium last night. Teko Modise scored the decisive goal with 15 minutes remaining to help his side to tie with Chiefs on 53 points. But Amakhosi hanged on to their top position due to their superior goal difference. The Soweto giants also have a game in hand having played 24 matches. Downs have stretched their league wins to six games to record their first league win over Amakhosi in two seasons. The atmosphere was electric with a crowed of over 65 000 at the 2010 World Cup Stadium cheering their respective teams on. Knowing that they had to win the match at all cost, the Brazilians were the quickest to get out of their blocks. They settled well in the early stages as Amakhosi battled to get their rhythm going. Baxter was never worried Kaizer Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter came to his players’ defence and explained the slow start in their 2-0 Absa Premiership win over Golden Arrows on Wednesday night. According to the Football411.com website, it was stuttering opening 45 minutes for Chiefs in front of goal, but second half goals from Erick Mathoho and Kingston Nkhatha saw them claim all three points on the night. Baxter admits there were a lot of factors going against his team on the night, but highlighted Chiefs’ busy schedule which has seen them in action almost every three days for the last week as they play catch-up in the league. Baxter, though, said he was never any doubt that his team would pick up the win on the night and praised his players for their performance. “Arrows gave certain resistance, the pitch was a little bit difficult to master and you have to remember we are coming back from a busy schedule and it is not easy, and playing against a team that is doing its best to try and stop you playing ...

Stuart Baxter (Kaizer Chiefs coach) "I think a little bit of both, the pitch is a bit bad, I think Supersport United also lost tonight, it's not easy coming from a loss in the CAF. I think the boys deserve a pound at the back for their performance tonight. What are ur messages of support my anti-Kaizer Chiefs fans for last-placed Golden Arrows when they take on Kaizer Chiefs in a crucial Absa Premiership clash.I want Golden Arrows to compound Baxter's Kaizer Chiefs woes when they are still recovering from a 1 - 0 edging on aggregate by DR of Congo-based outfit AS Vita fc.If Golden Arrows win tonight they'd beaf up Sundowns' morale to go into the FNB stadium with full of tearing Kaizer Chiefs to shreds.
Out of 16 teams playing in the Absa premiership I knw I cn make the match day squad at no less than 5 teams. Just dnt have the much needed exposure
Goodluck 2 this 3 teams I like so much Chiefs (Absa Premiership) ( UEFA Champions League ) Dortmund (UEFA Champions League ) For the love of Football
We take fans opinions to vote for their player of the season from this below leagues: Be Mobile Premier league: Absa Premiership League : English Premier league: Liga BBVA (Spanish league): UEFA Champions league: Italian Serie A : French Ligue 1 : German Bundesliga: do this as A TEAM
As a Chiefs fan i choose doing well in the Absa Premiership than the much talked about star , the Premiership is mo rewarding than Caf champions league.
I have no doubt dat my Team Kaizer Chiefs can't make it to the next round of CAF!! Atleast We still have chance to defend Nedbank nd Absa Premiership!! Next season I think is where we should focus on CAF!! Riperini Khosi Fans
